The Traveller Zuidoost in Bijlmer Centrum (D,F,H)

Eaten here for the second time. The first time it was very quiet and the food was very tasty. Unfortunately, this second time—due to the crowds?—it wasn't good. Various things went wrong; the food was colder than a hamburger at McDonald's, and the fries were the last ones out of the bag (all small pieces). Drinks didn't arrive and there were errors on the bill. It was nice that we got a free coffee, but it seemed too busy for them to handle. The price/performance ratio was completely wrong this way.

Tasty bites and a very good atmosphere

For the price you pay, the taste and quantity of the food are very disappointing.

Are you going to an event and want to eat, regardless of the price? Fine. Do you like good value for money? Stay away. You pay for a substantial main course and get: a small slice of lamb. And that under the guise of “shared dining”. It’s tasty, but so is a doner kebab. And then at least you get a full meal in one go.

Great place for drinks! We had some beers and cocktails, and everything was really good. Nice atmosphere and a great spot to relax and enjoy a drink. 🍺🍹

Together with a friend, I went for a drink on the terrace of The Traveller in the afternoon. We had indicated that we weren't coming for dinner, but might want to order a bite to eat. Nevertheless, another employee came to check this again and subsequently took away the drinks and snacks menu. His explanation: “This is feng shui for the other customers.” A rather bizarre explanation. Incidentally, there is no napkin or coaster on the table to prevent a leaking glass from leaving stains on the table or your clothes. Apparently, that is less important for feng shui. Unfortunately, things continued after that. My drink was forgotten, while my dining companion did receive hers. After a long wait, I indicated that my drink hadn't arrived and placed the order again. This drink was forgotten too. I made a third attempt, and then my drink finally arrived. To top it all off, my dining companion's glass of wine was charged on the bill as a whole bottle of wine. We then had to wait another 15 minutes before we received our refund. Even that wasn't quite right: we received 5 cents too little change. Naturally, we let it slide, but it is indicative of the sloppiness of that afternoon. All in all, scandalously bad and particularly sloppy service. I have been to The Traveller Zuid before, and this branch absolutely cannot compare.

The teriyaki salmon was really good only part kinda bad was that it got rarer in the center.Other than that it was really good.

Haven't been here for a while. So, I had to check it out, right? New on the menu for me was the 'Bara chicken'. Mmmm😋, delicioso, the barra's (2 small ones) were crisp, surprisingly, and tender and the chicken's flavour exactly as I remember it. The meat was tender and juicy with a bit of a kick. That was also a surprise, because I did expect an adjusted flavour. It was yummmy...and original. I recommend every one to try this, for sure. You won't regret it. 😅 Everytime I love the fusion of flavours. I should join them once I finish my CookingCamp course in September as career changer and foodie. Don't you think?

Time and time again, amazing spot!

The pastrami sandwich tasted fine but looked a bit meager. For 15 euros, I would expect a bit more garnish and, for example, some salad on the side.

The place is really beautiful and the ambiance is really nice, the food was amazing but it’s a shame I could only try the bites because the kitchen was already close at 21:30 in the winter time I understand but I really suggest that they change the time of kitchen closure in the summer to 22:00/22:30 because the sun still is shining at that time. Whoever I had a great experience and I really enjoyed the bites hope I can come another time to try the rib eye I was really craving for it 😊

I'd been eyeing this place for a while and decided to stop in for a light dinner on a Monday evening. The atmosphere was very pleasant, with plenty of seating both on the terrace and inside. The waiters greeted me very quickly and showed me to my table, took my order, and within 10 minutes my order was ready! Perhaps because there weren't many people there, but it was a very pleasant experience nonetheless! I'll definitely come back!

Beautiful restaurant with a lovely terrace. We had a bite to eat there before our visit to the Afas Life Theater. The weather was beautiful, so it was very busy both inside and out. Unfortunately, we had to wait a bit for our main course, and were therefore worried that we would arrive late at the Afas Theater. But luckily, it wasn't that bad, and the delicious dish made up for it a little.

Just like a few years ago at the RAI, I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and delicious food here as well. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed some drinks before the Toppers concert started. We ordered several small dishes, which we shared. They were all very tasty. The service is friendly and attentive.

The location is great if you want to go to a concert, opposite Qpark and a short walk to the Ziggo Dome. Beautiful dishes; the crispy chicken gyoza and the ribeye are highly recommended! Friendly staff and a very attentive young lady, presumably the manager; despite the crowds, everything was under control and they had an eye for detail. There were three of us inside, and it got very warm behind the glass window. Without us noticing, she closed the roller shutter, making it pleasant again—really lovely! Thank you! If you are going to the Arena and want to eat beforehand and park easily, you should definitely go here.

I often come here for a drink and a bite, and today I had lunch for the first time. I found the portion to be on the small side for lunch, and I'm not really a person who eats a lot. I would recommend filling the sandwiches more generously next time. It looked like you had split the salmon and avocado between our two sandwiches... to be honest, with a juice, this wasn't worth 44. I hope something is done about this review.

Cozy inside and also on the terrace. Friendly staff and even though the terrace was fully packed, they were still fast with food and very service minded. Food is maybe a bit more pricey in comparison to other places but worth it.

The service was good; we indicated that we were with more people than reserved, But that was no problem. The gyoza were really delicious and the fresh fries too!

Food, drinks, service - all fantastic. We went with no reservation for two and had a very friendly hostess who gave us their last table, service was really nice and welcoming. The food took a bit long but it was very busy, well worth the wait. Very flavorful and fresh, very well seasoned. The liquid lemon cheesecake cocktail has made me a regular. Will for sure be back!

What a nice and cozy place! We ate here last Friday before going to a concert. We got a nice table by the window and the waiter was incredibly friendly and really went the extra mile for us. Definitely recommended!

We arrived at The Traveller Zuidoost hungry, and even though the kitchen was closed, the staff were so kind and flexible in preparing a delicious dinner for us. Thank you so much! Our waiter was also very attentive and friendly. In short: We had a wonderful evening and would highly recommend The Traveller Zuidoost.

The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. The only thing I found disappointing was the comfort of the chairs and the layout of the tables. As a tip, I would replace the chair cushions with thicker ones or get different chairs. Furthermore, a slightly different layout would make it feel less like you are sitting in the aisle in some places.

We went here for dinner before a concert and it was truly fantastic! The food is fast, tasty, and fresh. You can share or order your own dish; both offer plenty of choice. The staff comes around just often enough and is super polite/sweet. I would definitely recommend it, plus if the weather is nice, you can sit outside very well.

We had the chance to sit outside, which was really nice. Even though the place was quite busy, both the drinks and the food arrived surprisingly quickly considering how full it was. Because of that making a reservation is definitely recommended. The staff was very friendly and welcoming throughout our visit. The food was something different from the usual and honestly very delicious. A special recommendation goes to the Liquid Lemon Cheesecake, it was absolutely amazing and definitely something you should try. We really enjoyed the experience and will definitely come back again.

Amazing service and bites, lovely terrace too!

I went here with my partner for his birthday and we got the Traveller Weekend Experience which was a set 3 course meal with a glass of bubbles and a bottle of wine included. Everything was phenomenal. The food was incredible quality and the variety of dishes were fabulous. We are still talking about it the next day! Can’t wait to come back again for a meal soon!

Good place, a bit pricey to make it a regular visit, but it's definitely fine occasionally; the food was excellent and cocktails well made too, nice ambience and good seats; just 4 stars because of the pricing.

Very tasty snacks and pleasant service in a nice place. I had made a reservation a long time ago for five people for drinks but was kind of tucked away behind the bar, which is inconvenient as it is the walking route for the staff.

A very tasty and atmospheric restaurant. With a nice mix of Asian and Oriental dishes and a fun sharing concept, this is a highly recommended restaurant. A great spot for a pre-event dinner at the ArenA, Ziggo Dome, or AFAS Live.

We had a wonderful dining experience at Traveller Zuidoost. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed. The service throughout the evening was professional, knowledgeable, and consistently on time. The staff clearly know what they are doing, attentive without being intrusive. Good wine suggestion. The food was delicious overall. The salmon ceviche was certainly original. It was tasty, but the sauce and corn were slightly overpowering, causing the delicate flavor of the salmon to fade a bit into the background. Still, an interesting and well-presented dish. The duck with noodles was excellent, perfectly cooked, flavorful, and satisfying. One small suggestion: providing a sharper knife would make it easier to cut the beautiful pieces of duck, as you’ll definitely want to slice into every bite. The Traveller chocolate dessert was a lovely. Indulgent without being excessive, well-balanced, and creatively presented. All in all, we had a top dining experience. I will definitely be coming back.

My partner and I just had 2 excellent steaks here. The staff were kind and attentive, and took extra care to accommodate her capsicum allergy (pepper allergy) which we super appreciated. Their old fashioned was so good I had two. 5/5 will come again.

We recently dined at The Traveller Zuid Oost and had a wonderful evening. The restaurant's atmosphere is modern, open, and vibrant, perfectly complementing the surroundings. We were there for the AMEX experience. It's definitely recommended if you're looking for a surprise. The menu offered a lovely variety of dishes with influences from around the world; everything was freshly prepared, surprisingly flavorful, and beautifully presented. The wine was excellent, too! The service was attentive, and the timing of the courses was perfect. Whether you're coming for a leisurely dinner or just a good cocktail and bites, the quality is consistently high. In short: a fun, delicious, and wonderful experience. We'll definitely be back!

The food was good, but there was a lot of fat on the rib eye, much more than usual. I ordered a bavette steak and asked for it to be medium rare, but I got a well-done, but overall, the food was good.

A lovely, atmospheric spot within walking distance of Amsterdam Bijlmer Arena station. Friendly service, a good variety of food (including vegetarian options), and delicious wines. It's also a great location for a pre-concert meal at Ziggo!

We had a wonderful meal before a performance at the Ziggo Dome. It's a 15-minute walk to a lovely restaurant with knowledgeable staff. There were a few glitches here and there, but the place was fully booked and we were often turned away. Drinks and food arrived quickly and were delicious. We've been there twice, and we'll definitely be back.

The Traveller Zuidoost is one of my favorite place to visit. They have great selections of wine with interesting meal concept. But I keep going back there because of the SERVICE and good VIBE.

Its a good place to dine. I went with my colleagues and its was fun and we had nice time with food and talking. Food is good not alot on menu but what's there are really good.

We’re regulars, absolutely love the service! Top notch for the area, good quality kitchen and high quality cocktails. So…1 star… you’re wondering: why? I’ll tell you: literal glass in our drink, my fiancé got a “oh, sorry about that” and that was that. She thought it was sugar at first and tried biting it at first before realising what it was. No compt drink, no genuine care about her well-being…I don’t think they even threw the glass away. Cocktail tasted good tho. 10/10 “cheesecake” cocktail. But we won’t be back.

The Audacity to Ask a Customer to Leave We just had the biggest mistake of having what was supposed to be nice team lunch at this restaurant, and what an experience! The manager or a guy claiming to be the owner (though I am not sure) brings four bowls of soup to our table. Being the polite colleagues we are, we gesture for the other person to be served first. Apparently, this was a crime against humanity because the guy nearly slammed the bowl down, muttered complaints under his breath, and then went straight to the only Dutch person at the table (the rest of us are non-Dutch, so if he had an issue, maybe address us directly instead of playing coward). He then tells our Dutch colleague that we’ll be asked to leave if we don’t follow “the owner’s order,” because, you know, as the self-proclaimed owner, he has the divine right to serve however he pleases. To top it off, he throws in a “doe normaal.” If you’re a sensible person, you can already picture who’s normal and who’s not. Bonus points for being racist while running a business that relies on serving non-Dutch customers. I feel sorry for this guy's agony that how hard it must be for him. If you’re irritated by customers politely pointing at each other to be served first, maybe horeca isn’t your calling. Anyway, this place is overpriced, so I rarely go unless colleagues insist. But this? This was hands down the most unpleasant horeca experience I’ve had in this country. So, dear “owner” or manager guy: get a grip. If I could give negative stars for your attitude alone, I would. 0/0 recommend. :)

Great place! Service was on point, friendly and quick. Food was delicious as were the cocktails. We had a great time. Also really close to the concert halls so if you want to have dinner before a concert definitely get a table here as well. We will definitely be coming back here and will check out their other restaurant at Amsterdam Zuid.

we got busy time, food serving was quite low, waiters drop food without asking who have what. We were 9 people. Food was delicious, served nice, but for price, I could say little but high for portion. But welcoming place overall.

Surprising dishes and a very nice place to sit

I dined here yesterday before a concert at the Ziggo Dome. The Traveller is a beautiful, modern restaurant, and the bar was especially eye-catching. A fun shared dining concept with surprising flavor combinations. And the staff was friendly. I'll definitely go back for my next concert. Highly recommended!

The separate room is an ideal place for an informal business lunch. Friendly staff, reasonable prices, good food.

Surprising food and very friendly service

Lovely atmosphere with nice music (fortunately not too loud, you can have a normal conversation) The food never disappoints and the service was top notch, they regularly came to ask how things were going.

I had a set menu for 2 with Amex. I do not eat raw fish and meat - I left a note with the booking. The waiter did not ask us about any food allergies and restrictions in the beginning. They also did not ask us about how we would like the steak to be cooked (I prefer well done). They served raw tuna as a starter and almost raw steak as a main dish.
