Toasty Lunchroom in Overtoomse Sluis

Just avoid this place. The service was poor, and there were very few food options available. Most items were unavailable, but you only find that out after spending 5–10 minutes trying to order. For my baby, I asked for blueberries and strawberries separately because they didn’t have a yogurt bowl. To my surprise, the berries looked and tasted extremely stale, as if they had been sitting there for weeks. To make things worse, on a Sunday morning they had apparently run out of the card payment option, so cash was the only way to pay. Overall, a very disappointing experience — poor service, limited options, stale food, and an inconvenient payment situation. Definitely not worth the hassle.

The food was delicious and clean. We ordered tuna toast, chicken toast with egg and avocado (which was delicious), and Greek yogurt with fruit (which was also delicious). I highly recommend it. Besides all that, the place is quiet and the staff are friendly.

I'm the neighbor... I saw someone's comment. I know 100% it's a jealous person who wants people to avoid coming here. I can almost smell who this might be. Taking the trouble to create a fake profile... clown... this is the most child-friendly/customer-friendly/animal-friendly toasty place you can imagine. Always a smile on the faces of the friendly, hardworking ladies. Don't be ashamed to lie. Don't believe it, people, and come take a look for yourself. We come here daily with the neighborhood, and I only see happy faces.

I recently had lunch here. I had toast and a smoothie, both freshly made and delicious. The atmosphere is relaxed, just what you need during a break or work session. Highly recommended!

I ate there, the staff was not friendly, everything I ordered came cold and there was a hair in my food.

Never going there to eat or drink again, gross, filthy tables, and I had coffee in a used cup still with lipstick from the previous customer on it, not washed properly, and the employee was unfriendly and arrogant, they didn't even listen to my complaint and no apology was offered either, yuck, never again.

Excellent toast and sandwiches! We stopped by on the first day of our Amsterdam trip and treated ourselves to two toasted sandwiches. Both tasted delicious and fresh, and the sauces were a perfect match. The service was quick and attentive. The price-performance ratio is also excellent!

Very good toast! I highly recommend the avocado one. There's plenty of space, but it gets quite crowded when there are a lot of people. Friendly service, but the wait time for the food to be served is relatively long.

My favorite place to eat sandwich, and perfect to take it in the park. Just keep in mind that it is a bit long to have once you order (could easily be 20 minutes) so perfect for a weekend!

For a quiet and tasty breakfast, this is the place to be! The employees were very cheerful, professional and friendly, we went there every morning during our stay in Amsterdam. The toasts and smoothies are delicious and full of flavor!

We repeated 3 times in 4 days, the sandwiches (Dutch BLT in the photo) and the croissants with butter and jam that were freshly made and delicious. The coffee and matcha are good too. The girls are very nice. The cozy place and close to our hotel Conscious Hotel The Tire Station (less than 15 minutes walk).

We came straight 3 days, the girls are so kind and the food really good! Simple but tasty They were out of croissants and offer us to bake it if we can wait ☺️ thank you girls! If we come back to Amsterdam for sure we will visit Toasty again 🤍🤍

The staff here is amazing—very attentive and welcoming. The menu, however, is quite limited, focusing almost entirely on tosti sandwiches with no options for sides. This used to be my favorite tent. Went here again after a long time. Unfortunately, the tent appears to have changed hands. Where there used to be an extensive menu with exciting options, the number of options has now been significantly reduced. Furthermore, the toppings were very sparse: see the 'roasted pepper' on the sandwich. The coffee was also delicious.

Cozy, fine cafe/lunchroom. Food & everything was great. Not too cheap, but good quality. The best thing for us anyway was a feline visitor who took a nap on the chairs 😻🙀

I happened to end up at the Overtoom and hadn't had breakfast yet. Toasty turned out to be a great discovery. I enjoyed a smokey chicken sandwich with wasabi mayonnaise. The coconut milk juice woke me up again and the coffee was just perfect. The atmosphere is ideal for sitting quietly (even with your laptop) and the employees are incredibly friendly and helpful. An extra plus: everything is halal. This is definitely a place I will return to more often.
