Toko Joyce in Waterlandpleinbuurt

I ordered 3 pastries. Dry, not tasty. Twice the combination dish. Not tasty with bambi. One time not spicy, one time spicy. Spicy, not spicy, bami not tasty, much too thick. I didn't taste any authentic Indonesian flavors.

A lot of money for little and bad food... only rice and half a scoop of meat and vegetables. Poorly seasoned. For the same price, there are plenty of Asian stores that are much better.

Got some Bami Rames. The bami was very greasy, only half a scoop of each dish, no toppings, for €19.25. You can expect a lot for that price, but unfortunately, it was very disappointing.

So many negative reviews lately. I've been coming here for ages to buy condiments and sandwiches, and I've enjoyed it. Yesterday, I even got a delicious tempeh sandwich.

It was inedible, sorry. Tasted like it had been sitting in the display case for four days. The nasi was hard. Everything was way too salty.

One star is too much for me, but oh well, the old employees were so friendly and hospitable. Now a lady with blond hair looks at you as if you can't ask for anything. Arrogant face, too. I just left. And the food isn't worth the price either. It's gotten so bad.

Not even worth one star, it was inedible, even my dog refused to eat it. Way too greasy and old! Expensive for nothing. Everything goes in the microwave, never again, and with all those fake reviews.

Price/performance not good: very 'easy' nasi goreng rames, too much rice, little meat/vegetables, therefore too expensive.

What a disgrace. This was really deeply disappointing. The atjar was not at all what it should be, tasteless, limp, and absolutely not a fresh and sour side dish as you would expect. The rice was half cooked, hard on the inside, as if they had not taken the time to prepare it properly. The whole plate felt like hasty work without any love or respect for the Indonesian kitchen. Sickeningly bad. If this is your introduction to Indonesian food, you immediately get the wrong idea. A waste of my money and my appetite. I will never come back here. One star is actually too much.

Toko Joyce is a gem in Purmerend. It's my favorite store. Delicious Indian food. Intense flavors. Sg udang, ajam setan, tahu with taotjo and peteh all delicious. You can eat on site, but it is not a restaurant.

Mannelinn Employee on Saturday with half long hair just hung his hairdo in all the stock and while serving he removed a hair... spoke to about it and after buying 50 euros worth of food (to go) found hair in 3 containers

Coincidentally met the chef at another location and got to talking... Both of Indian origin and in the same street, apparently in the same period (+/_ 30 years ago) I remembered Toko Joyce very well... I loved coming there as a child with my grandmother... delicious food and smells as they should be in an Indian kitchen... He happened to have some meals in his car and shared them with me. Now this delicious meal has come all the way to Papendrecht and has made you as happy as it was 30 years ago. Thank you for the delicious food!!!! If I ever have to be in that neighborhood again out of youth sentiment, I would be happy to have a meal with you again

was ok but lacking the real Indonesian taste, when I asked from where in Indonesia the kitchen is and I was told they make up their own taste and the taste surely was bland and expensive €9,- for three spoons of their own made up taste of (indonesian) food. They, the people “working” were the only ‘customers ‘ eating. I felt I was disturbing in their own meal this was the last time I came

It's a shame I got food today, but I miss the regular staff. The lady who helped me now is not customer friendly. Is eating in the store. Sit with her buttocks on the counter, sigh and lean. I just left the food alone

I had dinner there a week ago and it was really delicious!! Delicious bintang and salt-dried fish! Really enjoyed.. lady who helped me was really nice and customer friendly! If I'm in the area I will definitely stop by again for a bite!!

Quick and friendly help from Camille and Elana who know exactly what to recommend. Everything in stock and prepared quickly. The pie, chicken spring roll and membarak(?) are recommended. See you soon!

Delicious dishes with a wide choice

Unfortunately I left the Nieuwmarkt, but now I get it in Noord, nice place, friendly staff and delicious food, something for everyone. Lots of tasty snacks, sambals, prawn crackers, etc.

Lots of menu choices with the right taste. Don't just cook it carelessly. The owner is friendly and kind. We were given plow chili sauce while we were eating with the family there. Try.

What an expensive joke! They fill the containers with only rice and two pieces of meat (if you're lucky). We won't go here anymore, there are plenty of Indonesian takeaway places where they are not so stingy and the food is tastier. Shame!

Greedy place , you pay 15 eur and the only think they give you is rice ( completely empty of meat or veggies ) , better eat somewhere else than give the money to this people

Lekker zelf maaltijd samenstellen. We gingen geregeld naar de helaas opgeheven vestiging Nieuwmarkt, we rijden nu naar Noord

This is a take away restaurant/shop with a few tables for dining in. The menu is Indonesian food and is shown almost in padang style to be ordered. Since I live in Indonesia I can say that it tastes good although some adjustments have been made to accomodate dutch taste buds. The portions are big, and the service friendly. Prices arereasonable. The shop part of the restaurant focuses on indosian packed food.

Eten is altijd voortreffelijk, om verslaafd aan te raken. En voor het eerst een minpuntje, de jongedame was waarschijnlijk nieuw maar ze was hopeloos.

Mooi klein winkeltje, met lekker eten , je word vriendelijk geholpen. Komen hier al jaren terug voor de lekkere sambal. Ook al moeten we vanuit Amersfoort komen.

Vaak kom ik bij deze toko en geef werkelijk veel uit! (150 euro) per keer. Op deze zaterdag was ik niet echt te spreken over de twee jongetjes die in de zaak stonden. Alleen maar lachen en kwebbelen met elkaar. Weinig leuke services (zoals ik dat gewend ben) met het op scheppen in de bakjes, veel saus en weinig wat er wel in moet. Ik vraag bakje vol, word niet geluisterd, bakje half gevuld. Nee, ben beetje erg teleurgesteld vandaag. Jammer!

Somewhat authentic indonesian food is surpisingly good. I am a regular customer collecting stamps for 5euro discount on maaltijd van de dag. As an indonesian myself i would say this place is recommended.

Een apart reisje waard. Bijvoorbeeld voor de gado gado.
