That evening, we were looking for a nice place to have one last drink, and we found our spot for two at Toque Toque. 🍸 We ordered a Pornstar Martini mocktail—specifically *the* mocktail. Our waitress told us they also had it as a regular cocktail. When I asked how the mocktail actually tasted, her answer was very honest: “I don’t know, I never order that.” 😂 Fine, then we’ll taste it for you! And the verdict: it tasted surprisingly good, actually exactly what you would expect from a Pornstar Martini, only without the alcohol. Unfortunately, we didn't end up being able to tell our waitress what we thought of it. 😂 Otherwise, it is just a nice place to sit. Atmospheric and lively, with a beautiful view of the canal next to the McDonald’s. Definitely a nice place to end the evening.

Unfortunately I didn't take any photos, but we had a delicious meal here. Such friendly staff, not pushy at all, and when I asked for a carafe of tap water, that was absolutely no problem... a big thumbs up for this lovely Utrecht.

Had a beer. The Toque Toque house beer has IPA characteristics. A bit bitter for me, so it was fine with a lemon wedge. The bitterballen are really tasty, by the way. Great service!

A very nice and cozy restaurant with plenty of choice! The staff is incredibly friendly; our waiter in particular was super nice and helped us very well. There are also many options to customize dishes, for example by leaving out certain ingredients. This is very nice for a picky eater like me. Definitely recommended!

Go to this place if you like esthetic. The location is very cozy and the staff are nice and immediately brought me a new knife after I dropped it without me asking so 10/10. The food is not as good as other spots in this city, but it looks really nice. It could be improved by intensifying the flavors. It was often bland and lacked the iconic flavors you would expect from each dish. Portions however we're big for what you pay so that was nice. (I suspect that they don't use fresh ingredients.) Specifics: - The rice was overcooked - The Tempé was cut too big so the sauce didn't really cover most bites. +- The pasta was al dente but lacked flavour. - Shrimps were under seasoned or lacked marinade. - I think the bread was frozen (not sure) - the dips that came with the bread didn't have any flavour. - The burger lacked seasoning. + Potatoes were cooked nicely and tasted good after adding some salt. - Salmon was overcooked and kinda dry and the skin was soggy. + Veggies were prepared nicely. + Fries that came with the burger were good! - Sangria didn't taste like sangria - Lava cake was store bought - limoncello tiramisu wasn't to my taste but that is subjective, MIL loved it. Really hope this place improves cause I love everything abt it except the food. That means its perfect for a drink and a nice evening "aan de gracht."

A friend and I had the social 3 course deal last night. Great place with a lovely atmosphere and excellent service but the food (except pannacotta dessert) was a bit flavourless. It all looked very nice but just didn’t have much taste. I had the blue cheese spring rolls and they came with this strange ginger marmalade that did not compliment the cheese rolls at all, and then I had the beef salad. Again, no flavour. My friend had the burger which was a decent size and looked OK, but nothing special. Then sadly the salmon and prawn starter upset her stomach and she was on the toilet all night after. Not sure what to think really, but the bottle of sparkling water at almost €8 was a bit much. Why hotel prices for water? It’s a nice vibe… maybe we got unlucky with the food.

The service was very slow, and once the meal was served, we were very disappointed with the quality of the food. The toastie was almost burnt, hard, and impossible to eat. It’s a shame considering the price, which was far too high.

We had a delicious lunch. We ordered the club sandwich and the carpaccio sandwich. We also added the samosas as an extra. Everything was to our liking. The service was good too. The lemonades are highly recommended.

Seriously? Pinot €6.75 for not even a quarter of a glass. I did mention it and she said she had added something to it, but that it was the standard measure/quantity they use. This is absolutely ridiculous. No wonder the hospitality industry is doing so “well”.

Managed to get a table on the terrace on a sunny day. Didn't finish my freshly bought icecream, the staff left me with 3 options: throw it, leave or eat it standing some meters away in front of the terrace (not a funny bartender, really seriously). 3rd option was what i chose, since the weather was nice + girlfriend wants to sit in the sun. Anyway, the neighbours have very good lemon cookie ice cream.

A lovely café right on the Oudegracht canal. Attentive staff take your order. Pleasant atmosphere, delicious cakes, and an exceptionally good tiramisu. A glance at the plates on the next table makes you want more. In short: we'll definitely try something from the lunch menu next time.

After a request, some dressing was added 🥬🍅🥒🍲 The beers 🍻 were fine! For 2 people €90 > 💰 starter/ Main course & drinks is pricey.

We ordered a Beef Philly Cheese sandwich for €15. The meat was overcooked and tough. Half-filled. Lots of jalapeño peppers, not even half a mushroom. So an extremely expensive sandwich. TOTALLY NOT SATISFIED. And I spoke to the staff about it. They did absolutely NOTHING ABOUT IT. WORTHLESS CHEF WITH A C AND TERRIBLE SERVICE. NEVER GO THERE. A WASTE OF YOUR MONEY.

The staff were busy, forgot orders for several people, and mixed up dishes. They did apologize for this, though. The place wasn't completely full, but several tables were occupied. The food was meh, nothing special or remarkable. But it was what we expected for these prices.

This is one of those typical places in the perfect location, which makes it always busy. Unfortunately, the staff hasn't been any more pleasant because of this. They're making a fuss about the six-year-old kids still having ice cream in their hands while we've also ordered a table full of snacks, there's no flexibility on the terrace, etc. And then they dismiss it with a classic: "Sorry, I don't make the rules." Plus: the dog got a bowl of water right away.

The place itself is really nice and the food is decent. However, during our visit last week we experienced an incident that we found completely inappropriate.There was clearly some sort of argument happening in the kitchen, we heard loud voices and saw one staff member visibly upset. That made us feel really uncomfortable and we dont think we would go back.

Unfortunately, there were some problems at Toque Toque's Kitchen today, meaning you could only order drinks or snacks. Very busy here on Saturday on the Oudegracht in Utrecht. Table briefly empty but quickly reoccupied. The Toque Toque staff are kindly requested to always take all orders from the menu, depending on what customers would like to eat at Toque Toque. Unfortunately, there were some problems at Toque Toque's Kitchen, meaning you could only order drinks or snacks today.

Nice atmosphere, looks nice, but... my daughter and her friend had a bubble tea (almost finished) and they weren't allowed to drink it there because they don't sell it and it has a brand name on it🤨🙄 and we wanted to have lunch there. So we left (didn't have lunch) and went to another cafe, where they were allowed to drink their bubble tea🙂😋🧋

The place looked nice, so we thought we'd have a nice lunch. We were sent to the back where there were still some tables available. But it was very noisy, especially because of the open kitchen. It sounded like they were throwing pots. A pan of hamburgers fell and was barely caught. They didn't seem very professional. We ordered the following: Flamkuchen spinach feta €9.50 (they were very small) Nachos €11.50 (just like cardboard) Cauliflower florets €7.50 (You didn't get the florets; they were just the stems of the cauliflower). We can make this better at home. We definitely didn't think it was worth it. We won't be returning.

The service was very friendly and attentive, and the food was very good. Despite the restaurant being quite full, the food arrived at the table in just under 15 minutes. The seating was a bit too close together for my liking, making it rather chaotic. That's why I'm deducting a point.

I went there for coffee. I haven't tried their food yet.

The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. However, both of us got food poisoning after our visit. We shared all the food with a third person who felt completely fine, the only difference was that we had coffee and they didn’t. Later I noticed other reviews mentioning the same issue after drinking the coffee, so it seems likely that the problem might be related to that. I hope the management will look into the coffee quality to prevent this from happening again.

My friend and I thought we could have a quiet lunch, but no one helped us while others did receive the necessary attention. And all this despite us waiting a good few minutes, and the worst of all: the server made eye contact with her several times. This is absurd behavior.

I was enjoying the outdoors, but got incredibly sick after drinking the "iced coffee." It's not even iced coffee, a shot of hot espresso with ice cubes and strangely diluted milk. Was the milk still good? This was on September 6th; maybe check your milk vending machine.

"Toque Toque: slow pace, uncertain taste" A small restaurant in the heart of Utrecht that promises exotic vibes and dishes with an international flair. The atmosphere is friendly, colorful, with a slightly bohemian feel that invites you to linger. But as often happens with overly enthusiastic promises, the experience doesn't always match the atmosphere. The dishes are beautiful to look at but not always convincing to the palate: minimal portions, sometimes confusing flavors, as if there were no clear direction in the kitchen. The attempt at "fusion" risks becoming a fusion... of uncertainties. Some dishes arrive lukewarm, others with unbalanced ingredients—an example? A vegetarian dish based on tired guacamole and barely any vegetables. The service is friendly but unresponsive. A certain slowness is noticeable not only in the kitchen, but also in the overall organization. No one expects a hot table, nor a lunch that turns into a half-day. The small table on the first floor certainly deserves a positive note: delightful, secluded, with an enchanting view of the canal. A perfect spot for a romantic break or for those seeking a quiet moment in the city center. The prices are decidedly above average for what's on offer. More concept than substance. It's a shame, because the place has potential and a fabulous location, but right now it seems more focused on Instagram than taste.

The service is the worst! They offered dishes that aren’t available

Terrible service. We were with a group, and after getting the normal menu and having made a choice, we were brought another “group menu” with limited choices. Moreover, I ordered a “uitsmijter” (fried eggs) with only cheese, and they tasted like bacon.

I just drank a normal beer. I was discriminated against because I had a white skin color and asked to leave the building. It's been 4 years now, but I still find it strange. When I asked for an explanation, I got no answer.

For the first time in years I had lunch at Toque Toque. On a busy Saturday I still found a spot in the garden, but it is also nice to stay inside. The soft drink with lemon was perfect, the toasted sandwich was a bit sparsely garnished, and the club sandwich was a bit boring but both were good to eat. The service was actually good, you wouldn't expect it. I will come back again

Service was friendly but not very fast or anything. We just indicated that we wanted to order. I didn't think the menu was very special, but that's my personal taste. Will I come back? Not for dinner, but for a drink or lunch I think.

Today again here. And indeed the impression of last time was great. This time no lunch, but that does not that does not change the impression. Last time the Classic Club sandwich was one as an example for others. And despite other places around, yes this one knows about allergic food and drinks. So Oat Milk Cappuccino is great. And the atmosphere is great.

Unfortunately, all the food was served cold, which was not the intention with those dishes. Half of the order was also forgotten. For a restaurant with this name, there was not a single chicken dish on the menu.

Super good restaurant in the center of Utrecht, price-quality perfect in proportion! It was Saturday afternoon so it was very busy, nevertheless the waiting time for food and drinks was very short. A small tip would be to come by in between to ask if everything is to your liking. Chapeau!

Het was een gok, dit restaurantje, want we konden voor een groep niet reserveren toen we een (zater)dagje in Utrecht waren. Er was echter nog plek voor ons, aan een hoge tafel op van die hoge krukken. Daar voelden we als al wat oudere dames niet heel veel voor, dus zijn we buiten gaan zitten. Twee aparte tafeltjes, dat was een beetje jammer, maar we waren allang blij dat we ergens lekker konden zitten om te lunchen op deze drukke dag. Heel jammer dat de zon niet op het terras scheen. We moesten de jas aanhouden. De lunch werd gemiddeld gewaardeerd.

Langzame bediening, dat kan. Het was druk. Maar de volledig rauwe eendenborst heb ik teruggestuurd. Dit werd wel netjes van de rekening gehaald maar verpest dan toch je diner. Jammer!

Told my boyfriend we are expecting a baby while we were having dinner here. Told the lovely staff beforehand. First had an amazing dinner. Then during dessert they walked up with small fireworks and they were there for the big surprise and made it such an amazing experience. 10/10 would take my future kids here.

The clause is always slow, but today it was not normal. We waited over 40 minutes for our food. After dinner we asked twice for the bill. After waiting 20 minutes we went to the front to pay. We received the receipt and after I checked the receipt I saw that they had added 2 extra drinks and 2 extra dishes to our bill while we obviously had not ordered this. We got the money back in cash but they didn't apologize and were more annoyed that I had spoken to them about this. I felt ignored and not taken seriously. After my experience, the employees are constantly talking, eating and drinking with each other. In fact, they do everything except provide good service and ensure that people receive their food/drinks on time and can pay as quickly as possible. There were also vermin walking around. I don't recommend everyone to go here. There are many more and better dining options nearby.

Visited Toque Toque for lunch. Simple dishes but well prepared. Friendly service with a smile. The bread served with some dishes is really of excellent quality. A big negative is the condition of the toilets. Toilet paper on the floor, trash can full and traces of feces on the wall. Bah!!! Something really needs to be done about this.

We had something to drink and snacks. After being inside for 15 minutes, we saw 3 mice walking. These mice were not afraid of people and were literally under our chairs, the staff was rather irritated after we indicated that these mice were walking here. Left quickly.
