We had a wonderful time at this amazing, traditional Italian restaurant. The personnel were very friendly and helpful. Of course, the food brought me straight to Italy and all that on a cozy outside terrace. I would absolutely recommend eating here!

The Italian staff of this trattoria with terrace located in a cozy spot in Utrecht-Oost is attentive and friendly. They proudly say that they make Italian food as you get it in Italy. They make this true. The pasti are bursting with flavor with simple ingredients of good quality and are made on a basis of excellent pastas that are prepared just right. The sea bass is a feast for the eyes and tastes delicious. Of the desserts we only tried the tiramisu, which was a bit too liquid, but delicious in taste. The recommended wines were tasty, suitable and reasonably priced. A good limoncello from the house rounded off a delicious and cheerful dinner on a sunny terrace. A bit of a shame about the croquette and chip eaters at arm's length from the neighbors, but you can't have everything under control. We'll be back.

Didn't live up to expectations for me. The portobello was bland and not very special, and the risotto was an intriguing experiment, to put it positively. These two courses did not invite you to stay for dessert. On the positive side, the wine was good (although poured a bit reservedly) and the service was extremely friendly.

Excellent authentic Italian cuisine! Fantastic service, phenomenal drinks and cocktails!! The only flaw is the tiramisu which has little coffee and a lot of cream! Also, it is not clear why Flammkuchen is on the menu of an Italian restaurant! But all in all we are at the top 🚀

We should have read the website better: they were looking for a chef. After 45 minutes we got our 1st course, I'm sorry but I can prepare an octopus better. Either you simmer that thing for 2 hours in olive oil or you grill it piping hot for 2-3 minutes. We left the 2nd course alone. For the preparation of octopus: last 2 photos.

Cozy restaurant with super tasty food!

We had a very delicious meal with our friends from Tanzania, just like in Italy. We were a little late, but they were extremely flexible and friendly! Recommended🙂

TOP! Really super friendly and nice service by Italians. Food was delicious, especially the meat dishes (pasta carbonara was a little less). All in all, highly recommended, also in a nice alternative location to the center. Be sure to try the 'Melonchello', deliciously sweet, original and Italian.

You can't just put “trattoria” above the entrance and expect the food to be Italian. The food was bad, carbonara with a thin egg sauce and no guanciale to be found on the plate. Parmigiana was also tasteless and bland. The owner didn't even know which region in Italy the chef was from and “mentioned it under Milan”, seriously? Have you ever been to Italy to know that Emilia Romagna is the region under Lombardy....

We went there two times, both times the staff was very nice and friendly, and the food was delicious. I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 because the second time we went, we had to wait more than one hour to get served. The staff was kind enough and explained to us that they were understaffed that night. Other than that the place is very cozy, the staff is friendly and the octopus and the tiramisu are amazing!

Excellent food, friendly, attentive and hospitable service, good cuisine, everything is served on time, clean and beautiful crockery, amuse-bouche at the start, a gift upon departure. Italian furnishings, clean toilets. We were there on a Tuesday evening between 5 and 7:30 PM and there were approximately 5 tables occupied. Octopus dish with potatoes/fries and fried Italian vegetables was excellent. Rib-eye well prepared and tasty. Good price-quality ratio. Thank you!

Basket with just a few pieces of bread, very small dishes and for dessert a mini piece of apple strudel with a small scoop of ice cream. The food was delicious, but it could have been a bit more.

A wonderfully authentic place with a lady who is passionate about her business. The dishes are prepared in a special and appealing way and there is an extensive wine list and good advice from the employees. It is not noisy inside and you can hear each other well.

Super delicious food! I had never been here before and was hosting two Italian friends who love good food, so I hoped I had made a good choice. We had already eaten in the busy center of Utrecht and I now wanted to go to a slightly quieter but still cozy place. This was perfect. From start to finish, my friends were also very enthusiastic: about the cozy interior, the menu, the very tasty pastas, the wine, the friendly hostesses who had an extensive chat, the tiramisu as they only know it in Italy, the coffee, the Italian music. Really enjoyed this fantastic place, a wonderful piece of Italy in Utrecht. Now that I've been here once, I'll definitely go back more often!

So good! Perfect spot to eat Italian specialties. We got to try the Carbonara, the Amatriciana, the Tagliolini and the Orecchiette - all of them really well prepared (and we are Italians ;-)). The service was fast and friendly. Cannot ask for more, highly recommend.

Today we were there at 8:30 PM because the three of us wanted to have a bite to eat. The lady behind the counter said the kitchen was closed. Too bad, we were curious. The door says that the restaurant is open until 11 p.m. On google maps until 10pm. Very confusing. We went to eat at Van Ostade next door. It is noticeable that the terrace and inside at Trattoria da Roberto are empty, so not a single guest. At Van Ostade it is completely full.

Delicious Italian dining in Utrecht. It may be quite a walk from Central Station, but you get something in return. The restaurant looked very cozy and nicely decorated, creating a nice atmosphere in the restaurant. The selected wine tasted good and the staff was very friendly and helped us choose between the dishes from the new menu. The truffle pasta was very good, there was a good texture difference and the ingredients made for a balanced, delicious meal. The ragu pasta tasted delicious. The pasta was nice and soft and that provided a nice mouthfeel. It was also a very filling dish and the sauce made it complete. For dessert we had the tiramisu and I recommend it to everyone. If you are looking for a high-quality, attractive, delicious Italian restaurant, you have come to the right place!

The best Italian restaurant in the city of Utrecht, a little far from the center but worth it for the menu, the service and if it's hot the terrace is TOP. I will return whenever I feel like eating with good value for money.

Neapolitan restaurant with good Italian dishes. Not big but still empty. It is possibly the price/quality ratio that is bothering them. Nevertheless, it was a good meal. Funny waitress with humor. And the tiramisu was indeed delicious.

Magnificent menu, abundant and quality.

What a nice, cozy place just a few steps away from our home! We love the friendly atmosphere and friendly staff. Me, my wife and daughter had a nice diner here last Saturday and we were greeted friendly. We got a good explanation of the different dishes. I had a great Amatriciana and a non-alcoholic beer. And yes, the tiramusi is excellent! Afterwards, my wife received a small present from the waitress, just for the fun of it. A great place and we will definitely come back for lunch real soon!

Good Italian just outside the city. Traditional Italian restaurants are rare in Utrecht and I would definitely recommend this one.

Cozy small, but nice Neapolitan restaurant. Charming service. Delicious food and the wine was sublime! Bravo!

We came for dinner on a Sunday. Reception was friendly. The place was empty except for 1 other table. Due to the busy weekend, several dishes were already sold out. We went for the (alternative) aranchini with truffle and the stuffed zucchini flowers. The aranchini were fine, nothing special. As if you were eating a vegetarian bitterbal. The zucchini flower was tasty, but the flowers were not filled as well. As a result, sometimes you only had a bite of batter in your mouth. Next came the ravioli filled with pumpkin. This was well made and well filled. The filling was a little too sweet for my taste. The crumbled amaretto cookies sprinkled on top added little. Roasted almond shavings might have been better. For main I had the beef stew with mashed potatoes and fried polenta. This one was mediocre. The stew was far too salty and tasted mainly of bay leaves. The mashed potatoes were so thin it was almost liquid. The polenta came in the form of fries. And the ratio of meat to puree was not quite right, you got way too much meat. Due to the mediocrity of the food, we skipped dessert. Not really recommended unfortunately.

Love it! It was so good that we even forgot to take a picture! We have tried the ravioli like bolognese as pasta and meat and tuna from main dishes. The service, staff, atmosphere were very welcoming. Pet friendliness is a huge bonus, and very romantic place. Chocolate mousse was also amazing, the tiramisu was a bit dissapointing as it was delicious but very liquid and warm, they said that they make it fresh so guess it just was not for our taste. Overall, so lucky to have discovered this place in Utrecht! ♥️ Definitely will be back!

Nice in-time restaurant, we had dinner here last Saturday with the four of us, although it was not busy the atmosphere was still good: the right warm lighting and two nice young women who cheerfully and quickly arranged the food and drinks. The food was really delicious and the desserts were also excellent. The coffee was Italian and therefore fine. A little later another group of people came in, which made it even more fun. Highly recommended, we will definitely eat there again.Top tent!

Top visit to Trattoria da Roberto in Utrecht! Nice Italian people who serve you real Italian cuisine. A friendly, cozy atmosphere. A nice waitress and two hardworking chefs. All the high reviews are correct: it is special that the restaurant was not full! The prices are fine for the quality of the food. Fresh products, own herbs and traditional preparation methods. We started with an antipasti misto, enjoying eating together from planks. You can easily eat a primi and secondi here, because the portions are not very large. As it should! Definitely save room for the tiramisu! The best we've had in a while: the coffee is freshly brewed! Dietary requirements are taken into account and they are well informed about which allergens the dishes may contain. They also offer alternatives! Absolutely recommended!

Relatively new restaurant with very friendly service and fantastic food! I have never eaten such tasty pasta dishes in the Netherlands before. The starters and main courses were also delicious.

One of the best authentic Italian restaurants I've eaten at in recent years, and I've tried quite a few. The pasta is homemade and perfectly soft al dente, the sauces are divine and the staff are incredibly sweet and know exactly what you need. The wines are also top notch and best of all, the price/quality is perfectly fine. Go eat here!

We hadden hoge verwachtingen van dit restaurant, gezien de lovende recensies, maar helaas werden we teleurgesteld door de prijs-kwaliteitverhouding. Het eten zelf was lekker en goed bereid. De pasta, hoewel smaakvol, bestond slechts uit enkele ravioli's, wat de prijs van 16,50 euro niet rechtvaardigde. Voor een eenvoudige salade, bestaande uit slechts een half zakje sla zonder tomaten of andere groenten, rekenden ze 10 euro aan. De koffie en de wijn waren ook waanzinnig duur. Dit voelde niet alleen als een financiële tegenvaller, maar ook als een teleurstelling gezien de verwachtingen die we hadden. Na deze frustratie kenbaar gemaakt te hebben, hebben we 5 euro teruggekregen voor de salade. Het is begrijpelijk dat goede kwaliteit zijn prijs heeft, maar in dit geval voelden we ons niet voldoende waar voor ons geld geboden. Hopelijk neemt het restaurant deze feedback ter harte en overweegt het de prijzen in verhouding te brengen tot de geboden gerechten.

Wat een fantastisch fijn restaurantje, met heerlijke gerechten, lekkere wijn en goede koffie. Echt een aanrader! Even zoeken want ingeklemd tussen twee andere etablissementen, maar loop er niet aan voorbij! Je mist echt een fijne Italiaanse eetervaring (antipasti, primi, secondi, dolci). Heerlijk, en fijne bediening.

We had an amazing meal at what felt like a very genuine Italian trattoria, and also had the best tiramisu EVER!

Super combi: erg lekker eten met geweldige service.

Fijne plek om uit eten te gaan: hoge kwaliteit gerechten, goede prijs / kwaliteit, fijne sfeer en goede bediening. Echt een Italiaans gevoel bij een top buurtrestaurant. Tip: ze serveren ook gewoon kinder gerechten buiten de kaart om, waardoor je hier ook makkelijk met kinderen kunt eten.

Zorg dat je in goed gezelschap bent want de keuken is niet snel, maar wel erg goed. De menukaart is niet uitgebreid (5 antipasti, 4 paste, 3 secundi en 4 dolci) dit heeft als groot voordeel dat de gerechten die ze maken, specialistisch goed gemaakt worden. Alles smaakt intens lekker zonder dat er te veel suiker of zout is gebruikt. Ik denk dat dit komt doordat ze niet hebben bezuinigd op de goede (dure) ingrediënten. Het enige waar op bezuinigd is, is de muziek, het klinkt als 128 kbps mp3 uit satelliet speakers waar de bijbehorende (sub)woofer speaker van ontbreekt waardoor je alleen middentonen hoort. Als ze zouden eq-en, of de loudness schakelaar aan en iets zachter, of de subwoofer speaker erbij zetten, dan zou het beter klinken, maar het maakt niet veel uit, want het eten is zo lekker, dat de rest niet zo erg belangrijk is.

Wij waren een groep van 6 personen op 10/8/23. De ober was aardig en behulpzaam. Spreekt Engels en Italiaans. Leuke plek om te borrelen en lekker te tafelen. Het eten was van zeer goede kwaliteit en in goede verhouding met de prijs. Een aperol spritz voor 7 euro is niet duur! Goede service en wij komen zeker nog eens terug! Geadviseerd aan vrienden :)

Leuk restaurant. Niet al te groot. Ook de menukaart is bescheiden. Service was top en de bestelde gerechten waren prima van smaak. We hadden op het terras wel wat last van het drukke autoverkeer op de Adriaan van Ostadelaan.

Gastvrij, authentiek, oprecht, kleinschalig en gewoon beter dan de rest. Een absolute aanrader binnen Utrecht als je iets anders zoekt dan gemiddeld.. Helaas moet ik mijn review aanpassen. Het hele team Is vervangen afgelopen maand. Heel erg zonde! Fabio en zijn team waren een absolute winst in Oost. Treurig dat het zo is gelopen.

Really tasty Italian food for a reasonable price Recommended

Definitely the new team working at the restaurant did not meet the high expectations I had listening so many good stories before the whole staff changed few months back. Fresh and tasty ingredients was a plus. Pasta dishes definitely far from meeting Italian standards, pasta extremely over cooked. Poor welcoming and service. Seems this place was an asset in Utrecht I hope they will find their way again soon.

Tussen alle Italiaanse restaurants vind je deze gezellige trattoria waar je heerlijk kunt dineren met vrienden, familie of met een gezelschap! echt authentiek eten, in de keuken weten ze precies wat ze doen. Het is het echt waard!!!

Snap al die 5 ster reviews niet. Klopte iets niet toen wij er waren. De borrel plank was lekker maar de rest was niet bijzonder.

Ok Utrecht - wake up, one of the best restaurants of the city is now in Oost!! Please go check out ‘Da Roberto’ for a real Italian experience. Host Fabio is not only amazing, but he is a true host who makes you feel right at home. The food is truly Italian and the atmospere is too. Look at all the 5-star reviews above and below and you will know this is the place to go.
