EDIT : 🚩 had food poisoning today and confirmed by my house doctor. They got my vindaloo order wrong and I said I ordered vindaloo. But sir, they said vindaloo is really spicy. I had it before and I loved it They say ok we fix order. And they brought out something spicy af with no other taste. I don’t waste food so I finish it. Next day I got sick, I suspected they put something in it. 3 times I came no problem vindaloo. Suddenly. AVOID. Be warned Here are things I have no problem eating - scotch bonnet sauce - sojubar gochujang go to hell - naga jolokia paste Unethical 🚩 reported to gemeente 🚩

TOURIST RESTAURANT => AVOID AT ALL COSTS The moment the papadums arrived, we knew what to expect. They were paper-thin, and the sauces weren't fresh and were absolutely disgusting. As for the rest of the meal, we ordered the Lamb Tikka Masala, where the lamb had already been cooked and, on top of that, was overcooked. Absolutely disgusting. We also ordered the Butter Chicken, which, to our great surprise, was awful because it was so sweet. At least with that one, the chicken had been cooked fresh. It was disgusting!

The manager was very rude and doesn’t know how to speak to customers. Had to walk out before even tasting their food.

Had samosas, Tandoori soya chaap masala and naan - flavor explosion!

The food tasted very good, but the prices were a bit high. Unfortunately, the service was rather unenthusiastic and the dishes weren't entirely clean.

We've rarely been to such a dirty place. But let's start from the beginning: a reservation for two was set for 9:00 PM. We arrived at 9:02 PM. No sign of service. At 9:10 PM, we went up to the bar and were given a dirty table at 9:12 PM. The service was quick, though. The menu was varied but overpriced. Then it all started: glasses, plates, and napkins were dirty. Some still had food residue. The starters were acceptable, the main course was rather subpar. Fortunately, the bill came quickly, but we were overcharged for drinks. An evening to forget. PLEASE DON'T COME!

Tulsi Indian Restaurant sits right in the center of Amsterdam, making it an easy spot to find. We went on a Friday evening, and although the staff were polite and welcoming, the restaurant was quite crowded, so service took a little longer than usual. The place was clean and had a comfortable, casual vibe. The food was enjoyable, though not the most authentic I’ve tried. The garlic chicken tikka had good flavor but was a bit firm rather than soft and juicy. It came with chana curry and rice, which was a surprising pairing. The biryani was nicely spiced and satisfying. They also served complimentary papad and chutneys, which added a nice touch to the meal.

We Ordered Paneer dish, chicken, harabhara Kabab, water cheese chili garlic nan and garlic nan everything was super bad except water and harabhara kabab. Please dont go there. Also their staff are utterly rude. We gave feedback after payment saying food was not good and their response was we don’t think saw that also with ignorance and rude tone..

Very bad experience . The taste is okay but the ambience is quite noisy as it’s very small place with a lot of people . They do not have any camera working in the restaurant so robbery is quite easy here . We lost our bag with all our essentials from the outside sitting area of the restaurant. The staff here do not cooperate and the area is also bit weird to go in night . Avoid this place if possible . I highly suggest choose any other restaurant as other restaurants have better safety options then this. Visiting this restaurant spoiled our whole trip .

Have been coming here for a while and I just say the service has detiorated since the people running this has changed. Everyone is comfortable behind the bar and see how to avoid work and we keep waiting for tables to be cleaned and orders to be taken. Hoping old folks come back

The young girl that was working is extremely unprofessional. When collecting the dishes while i tried to help out she grabbed me for wrist and took stuff from my hand. I think grabbing a costumer for a wrist is extremely rude. Second my friend tried to help her gather all our empty glasses and she turned toward me and said dont do this with glasses you can break them which was deffinitly not true it was theee small glasses one inside another. Though when she was bringing them she piled up all 8 of glasses in tower. I think telling costumers who wanted to help no to do it in such a voice and tone is unacceptable. Lastly instead of coming to pick up empty bottles she stood at the beginning of table and asked us to pass her thiugh she could easily reach it herself. Food was very good and portions huge and tasty!

Every dish we tried, from the creamy butter chicken to the flavorful saay paneer, was bursting with authentic Indian spices. The portions were generous, and the naan was perfectly fluffy. The Young Girl serving food was friendly and attentive, making for a truly wonderful dining experience. Highly recommend!"

Great service Authentic Indian Food

The samosas are frozen ones, the bhatura is flat, all tandoori food is ridden with food color and the staff seems too occupied in their own world - super unkind to the service and customers. When I asked about the food they had excuses like the vessels are small or kitchen is super occupied for the quality of food. I would stay away from this place and maybe try the main Tulsi in De Pijp or perhaps try Indian food away from city centre. I have been coming here for quite some time but the experience this time was especially bad. Hope the management team does something about it.

The food was very average. We ordered chicken biryani, chicken curry, and yellow dal. The regular biryani is hot and spiced, and the curry is half-and-half. In other words, a pot doesn't boil in the country. We sat on the street.

Had dinner tonight, central location. Staff was not unfriendly, but they don't make you feel super welcome or anything. Took orders and brought them...and that's it. It's a small restaurant where you sit very close together, if you really want to have personal conversations this is not the place. Then the food... Yes it is very tasty...well prepared... tasted very tasty too.. but the portions are (and I'm not a big eater) very small... 4 mini momos 11 euros... a curry small portion and so on. So you pay a lot, tasty but very small portions. So then the question is do I recommend it? NO. Staff is mwa, you don't sit super there. The food is tasty. But you pay a lot for what you get.. so total...

The place needs some customer service lessons ! If there was an option to give below a star, I would be giving them negative ten of those. They not only have poor service and 1 hour wait from placing an order to getting your food. Forget acknowledging anything, they instead argue with you on how you placed the order after appetizers and hence they are not at fault ! The other servers, make fun if you ask for anything more. Now I am wondering if all these reviews are paid and fake. It is horrible and and food is full of red dye, has no taste. The owner is as rude as it gets, surprised they are still in business. Terrible place, wouldn't recommend unless you want horrible food and insulting behavior

Delicious food and variety of indian dishes

Like everything in Amsterdam very expensive and the food is average.

It's a nice Indian restaurant with elaborate menu and number of dishes. We ordered two soups daal and Mulligatawny. The served complimentary papadum with three chatneys. It took more than normal time to serve main course dishes. Butter chicken was their signature dish but we won't give it 100% marks as it could be better, however remaining two dishes Kashmiri chicken and Mutton madras was super tasty. Along that butter nans and complimentary saffron rice/plain rice were served. Food was good. The restaurant was full and too busy at 6pm although it was a bit early for dinner. It's better to reserve or there is chance to wait quiet long to get table.

Veg food and quality is really good

We had wonderful and delicious meal at Tulsi Indian Restaurant. We sprung for the three course meal and everything was delicious. It took some time to get all three courses, but it was a gorgeous day and we were seated outside along the sidewalk so we were fine waiting. We would love to come back if we are in Amsterdam again.

Rude staff filled with attitude to the brim. Waited 10 minutes for someone to come and clean the table. Another 10 minutes for the waiter to bring the menu and saying straight away “kitchen is closing in 5 minutes, tell your order now”. 15 minutes later, food served without a plate and napkin.

We got another nice table without reservation. Thank you very much! The food is incredibly delicious and the manager recommended us a great wine for our anniversary. Our waiter nodig" was very funny. We really enjoyed the evening. We will come back, but absolutely reserve in advance!

- They come across as somewhat rude. - The food prices seem a bit on the higher side. - The location is right on the main road, which likely contributes to the higher prices. - It's quite crowded; it would be better to try the Ashoka restaurant nearby. - This feels more like a 2-star restaurant with inflated prices. - The prices should definitely be lowered. - We ate here twice, but then decided to go to Ashoka, where the service was exceptional, the seating was better, and the food tasted great with excellent hospitality.

They give complementary pappadum. The paneer lababdar was good. Avoid dal makhani!!!! It was not even close to the dal makhani. It was more like a tomato soup with just a few lentils. Avoid paying so much for what it basically is a tomato soup.

Even though I'm not a big fan of Indian cuisine (due to the strong flavours), I have to say that we had a really good time here. All good and spicy just right. I recommend the chicken ravioli. The tandoori chicken, the prawns with rice and the lamb. Average prices for Amsterdam. Very friendly and smiling staff.

We ordered Dal Makhni, Paneer Tikka Masala, Laccha Paratha, Tandoori Roti and Butter Naan, and everything was perfectly cooked. They also served papad, chutneys, and onion salad on the house, which was a nice touch! They have very extensive menu. One thing that really surprised me was how they managed to keep their cloth napkins so spotless, even with all the rich, authentic Indian food being served. Definitely a place I’d recommend and visit again!

I frequent the original Tulsi on Van Woustraat, however the food level was not the same. Service was nice but the tables are small There is definitely a difference in flavour between Van Woustraat and here.

Friendly Indian restaurant with outstanding lunch buffet. Features large selection of appetizers, salads, vegetarian & meat dishes and desserts. Also homemade chutney and sauces, with fresh Naan served tableside with buffet.

Food was good but staff behaviour was very bad and rude. They can’t handle and manage the time for the service. Specifically the male staff communication to the customer is ill mannered. Not at all happy with the service.
