Tulsi Indian Restaurant in Zuid Pijp

The food served was stale, probably it was a monday evening, left overs from sunday.. the starters felt bland and the bhatura was super oily ( re fried multiple times probably). Not upto to the expectations unfortunately .

Love this restaurant, been twice in ten days after discovering it! The dishes are very tasty, staff is extra nice and the place got such a nice ambiance. Will definitely going there often!

Visited this place after receiving lot of recommendations and this place did not disappoint. Have tried multiple Indian restaurants but Tulsi is the best so far. I usually visit this restaurant now for Mutton Biryani and Patiala shahi desert, as it is difficult to get mutton varieties around. We often combine veg and non veg dishes and find them equally tasty. Last night we were there (4 people) to celebrate friends B'day and we ordered: - Mutton Biryani - Yummy as usual - Paneer Jalfrezis - Must try if you like Paneer - Malai Boty with Naan - Never diappoints - Malai Soya Chaap - Didn't like it (although the waiter warned us that it will be very Bland so I should opt for spicy, which i declined) - Rajasthani mirchi chaat - one of their best chaats, so unique! 2 best finds: - mango lassi (ust how I like it - Thicckkkkkk :D) - Patiala Shahi - Had to repeat this :P

Food was tasty, but according to price very low quantities, I ordered fish Madras , only gravy and fish was only 3 very small pieces, chicken Tikka masala same like that, not interested to go again

Delicious food and friendly service

The food was very disappointing and lacked flavor. We ordered momos that were raw and hard. When we informed the waitress, she told us they use store-bought momos, quite shocking, especially since they couldn’t even heat them properly (& they were overpriced). She offered us another plate, but those weren’t very good either. The Chicken 65 had more food coloring than flavor. We also tried the baingan bharta and cheese naan, which were fine. There are better places in Amsterdam for authentic Indian food.

Truly amazing! Definitely the best Indian food I have found in Amsterdam, and easily top 3 I have had in the world. Mango lassi had a rich flavor and smooth texture. Lamb rogan josh was great, very aromatic curry and the lamb was very tender and tasty.

The two veg curries what we ordered for dinner was so oily we didn’t eat most of them as we felt very uneasy - they didn’t even acknowledge that fact and claimed it’s kind of the usual standard. Naans were good though except cheese naan.

I was used to eating at this restaurant. The last time we went there to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday, I felt deeply ashamed. Because I'd promised my boyfriend I'd go to a fancy restaurant, but this time I was sorely disappointed. The chairs had dirty stains. And when the so-called hostess brought the menus, the atmosphere was completely gone. The menus were covered in curry stains. We didn't enjoy our meal that time. For me, this restaurant is now gone for good. A real shame.......

Very nice food. If you are missing Indian food while away in a foreign country, this is the right place. Fabulous food. Convenient location by Tram. Though may be majority of the diners won't return as they may be tourists, and no doubt, the staff did not do anything unacceptable or offensive, still I would appreciate and like to get welcoming greeting from staff with some smile. If in Amsterdam again, then I will definitely visit them again.

We found this place after looking around for a while for an Indian restaurant. We arrived at the right place! It was super yummy! The food was great I really enjoyed my dish! I also got mango lassi and I thought it was a little pricey but still delicious! My family all enjoyed their food too. No complaints there. I do think that the service wasn’t amazing though. I know that in Europe it is more normal to call over your waiter but it was a bit more then that. The food took a quite a while and even after asking for the bill it took like 10 minutes to get it. Wasn’t that busy. But I still really enjoyed the meal!

Very spacious restaurant (the largest Indian restaurant in Amsterdam) which would be good for a large group! Extensive menu with lots of options - please note that only the meat dishes are served with rice, not the vegetarian dishes (I wish they would change this!). We had enough to take home leftovers to eat for dinner.

One of the best north Indian restaurant in Nederland. The food was delicious, we asked them to make it Punjabi style and they made it really good.

Wow saddened to withness that the portion of chicken has been halved for the chicken vindaloo curry. I had only 3 slices of chicken in my curry, it used to be a lot more. Not coming back.

The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. The young girl who served us stood out; she was very well-educated and offered fantastic recommendations, clearly knowing the menu inside and out. The food arrived quickly and was piping hot, and we felt the prices were very reasonable for the quality and quantity. Must visit.

Often, in large menus, quality varies — but here, every dish is clearly prepared with care and flavour in mind. Frankly, the experience was below expectations, and the food was far less than average. We tried the biryani, and it was haphazardly mixed and overpowered by the peppers. The masala peppers were very average, lacking a clear Indian flavor, and the dal was unsalted and tasted bland! If you’re used to Indian restaurants in the Gulf, especially in the UAE, you’ll feel that this restaurant is incomparable. Unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. The food was below average — the biryani was poorly mixed and overloaded with spices, especially pepper. The masala lacked depth and authentic flavor, and the dal was bland, with no salt or richness in taste. If you’re used to Indian restaurants in the Gulf, especially in the UAE, this one doesn’t come close. Not a place I’d return to.

Definitely not a crowd favorite, given how empty it was on a Friday night. Despite that they took over an hour to serve us 2 starters and one gravy main. I've been craving good punjabi food, but the tandoori chicken was just plain atrocious. (Probably coz they took that hour to cook it and forgot about it). Paneer tikka was frigging amazing though. Looking at the reviews, it's possible that other items could be nice, but tandoori chicken is avoidable.

We had a booking for 35 people with a fixed menu. The ambience was pleasant, the service was quick, and the food was delicious overall—except for the soya chaap, which was below average, and the kulfi, which was overly sweet.

Very bad, overcrowded, food was bad, they disrespected my family, the drinks like the mango shake tasted color, and they charged heavily on food, dont go if your a mental person. Trust me

Worst experience. I visited after 2 year in tulsi restaurant and quality of food is really bad. They are adding mango chutney in every starter and saying dutch people like it and they are preparing which is liked by dutch people. So it is not for good indian food..In main course also food was not tasty and really bad in service as well. All the plates they were giving were not cleaned and we changed that 2-3 times. Manager and chef behaviour was also not good when we shred our feedback.couple of years back it was really good but now it is not worth.

Delicious Indian food. We had, amongst others, Bharta and Lamb Chops. They were the best I’ve had so far. Highly recommended!

Fantastic! We had the Chicken Tikka, Samosas, Tikka Masala, and Butter Chicken. Asked for super spicy and they delivered.

I was incredibly impressed at how accommodating the establishment was for our visit. Traveling with my son, I was provided great suggestions for my palate and his. The seating was extremely comfortable. I typically find seating to be an issue with staying in place for longer periods of time, but it provided me the perfect length to engage in meaningful conversation with my son. I will return on our next trip to De Pijp.

The staff were very friendly and kind. The food was very tasty with a lot of nice flavors. If you don’t like spicy food, it’s better to ask for mild. I really enjoyed it. I will go again!

We got a seat in the evening without a reservation, which wasn't always the case at other highly rated restaurants. Overall, the Indian food was delicious. One point deducted because the butter chicken wasn't exactly a flavor explosion, and the chef's recommendation (Malai Tikka) wouldn't have been surprisingly good without the (very good) additional curry. Naan (like at almost every Indian restaurant) was two small pieces. Conclusion: Delicious food for a normal price in Amsterdam.

Went with a couple of friends, and the food was nice and reasonably priced. The service was good until they chased us out for sitting too long. The place was empty, so I didn't see the need to do that. Other than that, I would recommend it for some authentic Indian food.

Best Indian cuisine in Amsterdam, I 100% recommend! First off, we were greeted so warmly by a lovely host, who escorted us (a group of 4) to our table, and immediately after we took our seats, one of the world’s kindest waitresses (Nidhi was her name) handed us the menus, which contained hundreds of Indian dishes (starters, soups, main meals, desserts, etc.) to choose from. I recommend the “Rashmalai” for dessert!!’ xD We enjoyed our meals to be max, and would love to visit again soon! Thank you, Nidhi for your warmth, patience and recommendations. :)

Surprisingly the only place where I found poor service in the entire Amsterdam. I tried across many many restaurants across Netherlands serving anywhere from coffee to proper fine fine Dutch food . Need to say won’t recommend.

Definitely recommended, This is one of the few place, serving tandoor dishes with authentic Indian taste. The naan/rotis were perfect. we ordered mixed naan basket. The kabab were nice and tender. The curry had nice aroma, that turns your taste buds.
