This is the second time I've placed a takeout order here, and again, the prices are wrong. They're very unclear about the exact price. You see a price per kilo, but the final price seems to be much higher. Two skewers cost me €30, which I can't believe. For two people, I paid €124, while it should normally be €60–80. It's not a pleasant or reliable experience. I won't be coming here again anytime soon and advise others to be very careful.

Employees, especially that one guy who does the service and such, you better find another job. I understand you "have to" work. But this way, you might encounter someone who'll ram you into the kitchen. Worst service ever. I ordered food medium rare, and everything was still raw. The staff probably wanted to go home. Strongly discouraged. There's the Levantine on the mosque square; I regret not going there. If I had to say one word, it would be, "I feel ripped off."

Yesterday I went to Kasap Restaurant Utrecht with my wife and children. What a disappointing and unprofessional experience. While eating, I literally found a hair in my dish. When I politely reported this to the staff and later to management, they didn't take it seriously at all. No apology was offered, which I personally find unacceptable in the hospitality industry. To my surprise, we then received a bill of €102, even though we had ordered relatively little. As "compensation" for the hair in the food, they only gave us a €10 discount. This seemed ridiculous and disrespectful, especially considering the situation. When I expressed my displeasure, I noticed the staff reacted with irritation and made it clear they wanted us out of the restaurant as quickly as possible. Instead of customer-focused and professional behavior, I felt completely ignored. This restaurant lacks basic principles such as hygiene, customer service, and responsibility. I strongly advise against dining here, especially not with family or children. For us: once but never again.

We were a group of 10 and had a very disappointing experience. The service was terrible. Every time we needed something, it took an incredibly long time to arrive. Moreover, the restaurant wasn't busy, but there was no dedicated staff member to assist us. As a result, we had to explain our needs to different staff members, which was very inconvenient and frustrating. Unfortunately, the food was also disappointing. We ordered two kilos of kuzu shish kebab, but the meat was rock hard, almost like stone. A real waste of money, especially if you're here to enjoy delicious meat. Furthermore, the staff member behind the counter didn't smile or be friendly at all. This is also something the restaurant really needs to improve. We spent almost €400, but this was the last time for any of us. None of our group was satisfied. After our visit, I emailed the restaurant to explain our complaint, but we never received a response. It seems customer complaints aren't taken seriously. A real shame.

I went here about seven or eight months ago, back when the owner was still around. Unfortunately, the quality of the meat has deteriorated significantly since then. The Adana skewer even had the taste and texture of a frikandel, which was very disappointing. I used to really enjoy the food, but they're no longer up to that standard. I'm also not impressed with the service and the staff. Considering the price, I find both the service and the quality of the food subpar. This is a clear reason for me not to return to Kasap Utrecht. In the future, I might visit the Amsterdam branch again, hoping the experience there will be different.

I've eaten at Kasap several times now, but this was definitely my last. Unfortunately, I can't say anything positive about the service. There were four of us and we clearly indicated when ordering that we wanted to eat together, but we were still served one at a time. That was a real disappointment. Furthermore, the meat wasn't cooked medium as instructed. When I pointed this out, the staff even started arguing with me. I feel like this restaurant focuses more on sales than hospitality. Therefore, I wouldn't recommend dining here.

I've been here many times in the past and have always been satisfied, but our visit on December 13, 2025, was unfortunately disappointing. It was very busy; staff members were visibly chaotic, and it was also very noisy. We ordered meat dishes, but after 40 minutes, nothing had been served. Suddenly, we were asked if we wanted our burger with or without bread, even though we hadn't ordered a burger at all. Ten minutes later, the food arrived. The staff member indicated that the burger was "on the house" because something had gone wrong with the order. To our surprise, two minutes later, another staff member arrived and said that the burger wasn't for us and wanted to take it away to serve to other guests. This is unhygienic and completely unprofessional; the burger was already on our table and could have been touched. The food itself unfortunately gets one star that day: hard, overcooked, and tasteless. It seemed as if little attention had been paid to the preparation. I expressed my dissatisfaction when I paid. The only response was, "Sorry, it was busy." Despite everything, we were still charged €150 for three people. Very disappointing, especially considering previous good experiences.

I thought I was walking into a restaurant, but apparently I'd landed in some kind of impromptu daycare. Welcome to Kasap Kids Club (but unsupervised). The staff were running around like they'd just finished their first carton of apple juice—focus on the customers? Hardly. When you need them, they're mostly busy chatting amongst themselves in a language I couldn't even recognize, but hey, maybe it was a team meeting… which happened to last all evening. Cleanliness? Let's just say the floor offered a surprise buffet. Leftovers were everywhere, as if someone thought, "Let the atmosphere be authentically chaotic." If you're looking for a place where the staff has an energy level of "just fired from kindergarten" and the cleaning is "we'll do it tomorrow"… then this is your chance.

I ate at Kasap today for my father's retirement and was definitely not disappointed. I love food grilled over charcoal because of the unique flavor it gives. Add to that the excellent quality of the meat, and you have an unforgettable meal for a reasonable price (at least, if you hide the part of the menu that says "antrikot" with a napkin). It's a fantastic restaurant. I recommend everyone try it at least once. The atmosphere gets 4 stars because I personally prefer very quiet places. Around 6-7 pm, almost every table is reserved.

Upon entering, we were led to a table, after which the employee disappeared without asking "Do you know how it works?" or "What would you like to drink?" We were left waiting without knowing why. Eventually, someone came to help. The meat selection was quick, and we were well-helped with our questions. Service was fast, but during our meal, half the staff was on their phones, and some were even shouting. Our seating was in a terrible state. It was near the display case when the goods were being delivered. This also caused a draft because the door was open and the sound of unloading was present. This could have been considered more carefully, as the restaurant was practically empty.

Went here for dinner on a busy Friday night. The restaurant was packed, so it was quite noisy during dinner, but the restaurant can't do much about that. You have to place your order at a display window where the meat is presented, but the line was long, so it took a while before you could place your order. There's also no indication of what meat is which. It is explained, but you do feel a bit rushed by the young man behind the counter and the long line behind you. I can live with all that, and it's still acceptable for me, but what I can't live with is the price. It's way too high for the quality you get. When you pay €9 for less than 200 grams of chicken fillet, you really expect the best piece of chicken you've ever eaten. Well, that's a huge disappointment. The chicken was dry and not tender. The other things we ordered, like Adana (€12.50 per skewer) and köfte, weren't bad in themselves, but you can also get those at other Turkish restaurants for a cheaper price. And perhaps even with more flavor. When you go to a specialty meat restaurant like Kassap, you expect high-quality meat. And that's absolutely not the case, even though you're paying a premium. It was fun to try it once, but I wouldn't repeat it. The price-quality ratio is absolutely disproportionate.

Despite the large group, we received excellent service—everything went smoothly, the staff were attentive and always smiling, and the food arrived at the same time for everyone. I had to ask for someone to explain the concept to me after being sat for ten minutes without approach. Id understand if it was busy but the restaurant had more staff than customers at the time. Approached the meat and was told the en croute was a T-bone - clearly the person serving the meat had no idea what was in front of him. The benefit of being able to see and pick the meat you want, lays in having an experienced and knowledgeable staff member who can tell you the profile of every cut. It just doesn't look right when you have someone that has no clue. May as well send him home and I'll serve myself. I asked for the bill, instead of getting it at the table I had to go up to the till. Didn't get a chance to decide on a % of tip but since the service was so poor, I don't regret giving nothing. Also why are there random TV's through the restaurant? Confusing and makes everything feel cheap. Steak was cooked fine but socially challenged people will break this business.

The atmosphere was very noisy and overcrowded. You were practically sitting on top of each other, too close together, which wasn't pleasant! The staff were very rude to each other, and that was quite embarrassing for customers to witness. Whenever we tried to ask the staff a question, we received a very blunt answer or they were very negligent. They were not friendly at all and certainly not helpful. You had to wait a very long time for drinks; you had to think carefully. Can I even ask this question, or else where will it lead? I'm afraid the staff will hold you accountable! It's deeply sad! The floor manager didn't intervene when she could have, because she was always watching.

Then the waiter returned to say he wouldn't be serving one dish... very strange! Tea was supposedly "on the house," but you have to pay for a large tea, and he didn't even mention it. I don't know whether I'll be sitting for half an hour or an hour or longer with my family of three. The service was chaotic and disinterested. Orders were half-remembered, drinks arrived far too late, and questions were answered with a sigh. When I went to choose my food from the display case, the employee paid more attention to his colleagues than to the guests. When I asked about the meat, he simply turned away to chat. Disrespectful and unfriendly. The food itself didn't make things any better. The meat was well-done when I'd asked for medium, and the fries were limp and tasteless. Moreover, there were dirty glasses and crumbs scattered all over the tables that nobody cared about. All in all: a restaurant where, as a guest, you waste your money and your evening. They'll never see us again.

What a terrible experience! From the moment we walked in, everything went wrong. The tables were dirty and weren't even cleared before we sat down. The cutlery was simply laid out sloppily, with no attention to hygiene (without even clearing the table). The staff was negligent and disinterested, completely oblivious to the guests. When I went to the restroom, I was truly shocked: filthy, disgusting, and completely uncared for. And then the food… the so-called antrikot meat was truly awful. Tough, tasteless, and absolutely not what you'd expect from a restaurant. In short: poor service, poor hygiene, and poor food. If you do want a good, well-prepared meal, I recommend choosing another restaurant in the area. A huge no-go; I'll never be back!

I ate here yesterday, August 22, 2025. The food was delicious! Good meat, nice and tender. The service really tries hard, although it can sometimes seem a bit chaotic. If I had to give one negative point, it would be the price. I think it's a bit on the high side. Be careful not to overeat, because you're likely to overeat with this concept.

A great experience and delicious food. At Kasap, you choose your meat at a counter, and it's immediately picked up and grilled, then brought to your table. The service and staff are friendly and helpful, though the explanation of the concept and the meats at the counter could be better. We'll definitely be back.

It was our first time, and it was our last! What's that? All the meat piled on a wooden platter (which makes it cold quickly) dumped in the middle of the table! Is this supposedly unique? No, because you have to smell which meat you chose. Tip: serve food for each plate individually, not on a platter in the middle of the table. Each person should be served bulgur, pilaf, and fries (the portions/buns were good!), not just two bulgur buns, rice, and fries for four people! This is simply unacceptable. When we pointed this out, they immediately resolved the issue by adding bulgur and rice. This was polite. Furthermore, salad, or raw vegetables, was missing from the menu. These should be included, just like the rice. I also found it embarrassing that a piece of meat was being sold for €82!!! Utanin bence. It was very nice that the vendor let me know the price. It was a horribly high price! The staff was friendly, though sometimes not very attentive. Another important thing: you have absolutely no privacy. The tables are piled hopelessly on top of each other and next to each other. Nope. I didn't like it at Kasap. My girls didn't either. In short, we won't be coming back.

My girlfriend and I visited Kasap in Utrecht yesterday with high expectations. The restaurant looks well-maintained, and we liked the concept. We both ordered the Kasap Köfte (4 pieces per person), and I had the mercimek çorbası (lentil soup) as a starter. The lentil soup was well-seasoned and neatly prepared. We did notice, however, that the main course was already on the table before I had finished my soup, after about 10 to 12 minutes. That was fast, which initially seemed positive. The köfte looked good, but felt a bit too soft when eaten, which surprised us somewhat. We ate the rest of the meal calmly and left feeling fine. Unfortunately, we both developed stomach problems later that evening, which remained mild for me, but unfortunately, became more severe for my girlfriend – with nausea and multiple vomiting episodes. We both felt fine before dinner, and since we had the exact same main course, we wonder if it might have been the köfte. We're not entirely sure, but it does raise questions about the preparation and freshness. This was very upsetting and disappointing for us. It's a shame, because the restaurant has potential and a great concept. However, this experience has made us think about whether we'd like to return in the future.

Today I ate at the new Kasap location in Amsterdam Osdorp. It's a beautiful location within easy reach of Sloterplas lake. The food was delicious and we'll definitely be back. The owner is very hospitable and the service is excellent. Highly recommended!

A truly top-notch restaurant with excellent service. I come here very often and will continue to do so. Today, they accidentally packed my order incorrectly. Once I got home, I let them know, and they were at my door in no time with what they'd forgotten and extra baklava. Definitely recommended.

Great place if you are a meat lover. All types of grilled items. Items were tasty and juicy. You select the meat and they prepare it for you live. Its always full-house and parking is mostly full. Parking is paid but not that expensive. We went on a Saturday evening and we managed to find parking.

It was great. Parking easy and cheap. Restaurant atmosphere is great, you need to select raw meat from showcase and they cook it for you. They also have a collection of sweet dishes , best of course is Baklava with ice cream. Everything is great with only one weak point. They should also invest in keeping the toilets in top class (cleanliness and hygiene) , just because of this point I cannot give it a 5 star.

Very nice place to sit and drink/eat something. The tables and chairs are very tight to the next one. To use the bathroom you need acrobatic talent; it is a pico bathroom.

We paid a fortune for two half-warm croquettes and two sandwiches, with no other garnish. I wish I'd read the reviews before our visit. It happens regularly. And unfortunately, they don't learn from it. The staff is friendly! But they'll never see the four of us again.
