Mary went out of her way to check the dessert ingredients for us and she was very helpful and friendly. Great croissant and lemon meringue pie too 🍋 We’ll definitely visit again.

What a terrible place! No fresh orange juice, and lukewarm soft drinks from bottles. Next time I'll run past really fast.

Terrible, we had to wait almost an hour for our food and it wasn't busy at all. I find this awful, plus the prices are ridiculous for what you get, and then they even dare to ask for a tip when you pay. I find this terrible and I hope they learn from this 😡

No toilet available. They send you to the neighbors across the street, which are closed, and then you can go to the paid restroom, only to find you can't use that voucher anywhere. The flat white wasn't any good either :)..

We had a small breakfast here and were satisfied. The service was good. We sat inside because it was a bit too noisy for us outside.

What a nightmare of an experience. I had to wait a ridiculously long time for my food, as if they still had to butcher it instead of just making a burger. And then when you finally get your order... seriously, there isn't even any sauce on it. How hard can it be? As if that wasn't enough, I was also eating amidst someone else's mess. Tables simply weren't cleared; trash and filth were everywhere. Truly filthy and totally disrespectful to customers. This was a one-time thing, never again. Save yourself the frustration and go eat somewhere else.

Despite having to wait longer because they dropped my food on the floor, the food was quite tasty, although you can eat much larger bread with poached eggs and cheaper in Bataviastad in Lelystad, but it is recommended to go here

I don't usually leave reviews, but wow, this was incredibly bad! My worst 12 hours ever. A good half-hour wait for two slices of bread with cheese that was so hard and soggy it looked like it had been sitting there for days, a pitiful slice of ham, half a salad, and a lukewarm croquette. The soup was somewhat passable, but we had no idea what we were eating. In short, way too much money for poor quality food. Move on!

We ordered a matcha latte and unfortunately received a weak green infusion of chemically flavored apple syrup. When we mentioned this, we were told it was strange they hadn't mentioned that their matcha latte was "a bit sweeter than usual." It simply tasted like apples, trying to save on expensive matcha, while still charging normal prices.

We paid a fortune for two half-warm croquettes and two sandwiches, with no other garnish. I wish I'd read the reviews before our visit. It happens regularly. And unfortunately, they don't learn from it. The staff is friendly! But they'll never see the four of us again.

€12.50 for a few lukewarm mini croquettes without any garnish is really over the top. And there's not even a proper restroom. Save yourself this place!

Upon arrival, we found a dirty table. The waiter first went to clean other tables and take orders. We asked twice for a cloth so we could clean it ourselves, only to be told there were clean tables in the back. OK, we went looking for the clean tables, and luckily, one was indeed clean; the other tables we encountered were also filthy. We ordered food and drinks, and they practically threw our drinks on the table without saying a word. She was clearly not amused that we had asked for a cloth. The food did arrive quite quickly, which was a plus. Unfortunately, it was served over the pram instead of walking to the other side of the table. The waitress was friendly, though.

We sat a family of 3 adults. The waitress cleared one table and got ready to take an order. I instructed her to clear the other table and she immediately did so. I am not obligated to instruct her on how to do her job.

Great food, the croquettes could have been a bit warmer, but if you're hungry, you'll eat them quickly. Everything comes out very quickly, which is nice!

I visited Vascobelo on a quiet Sunday and tried the Eggs Scandinavia met avocado. Vascobelo has a relaxed, calm vibe, especially on a Sunday when it wasn’t crowded. The restaurant felt peaceful, which made it a nice place to unwind without the bustle you often find elsewhere. The service was refreshingly fast and efficient. I didn’t have to wait long to place my order or receive the food.

Yesterday we took a little break with a friend. It was a peaceful and quiet environment. The staff was very friendly. We enjoyed a delicious coffee, and the atmosphere was also very nice.

Good location, expensive price! I first got a hot glass for my Sprite, then two cold croquettes on bread... and that for that price... maybe they were having a bad day. That's also a tip. Better wait a bit longer for hot and good food.

Don’t know about the bad reviews but we had breakfast today morning in this resturant just opposite to where we were staying (crown plaza) I must say the eggs on bread was very nice. Service was also fast. Only issue with me was the quantity didnt justify the price €15. But the quality was good. In €21 u have much more options in crownplaza itself

It was the worst experience ever. Totally unrecommended. They had make a mistake at the order. We had a complimentary drink. But the food was terrible. The chicken was like plastic, the 12 hour was too small for the money you pay, with no cheese at the salad as it is at the photo, the crochet low quality, and we had to ask for a spoon to eat. And the ending disappointment, the no toilet situation. NEVER AGAIN.

Today, my husband took a small coffee break here while I was shopping. After finishing the shopping I went here with a leftover sandwich and a vitamin water in my hand. As soon as I sat down, the waitress came and asked what I would like to get. I said nothing at the moment. It has been only 5 mins. I arrived and I gave the small sandwich to my husband, only 3 to 4 bites. So it was not a full big chunk of sandwich. After waitresses saw this, she immediately came to warn us that food outside is not allowed in a really bad manner, and asked me what I would like to have, as implying I brought the sandwich specifically there. Also looked down on my vitamin water. My husband was already having his coffee. All in all, the waitress today was very rude toward us. I don't recommend you to have a quick break here. Go sit down to Starbucks just at the opposi, and e then you can avoid this kind of rude behavior.

Great tent, for a nice lunch, for example. I had lunch there myself and had a classic chicken. It was just delicious. Nothing wrong with that. Too bad everyone goes to the tent next door. That makes it nice and quiet, but I hope that more people will come to eat here at Vascobelo.

Waiter was very unfriendly. Ordered 2 iced coffees that were warm when we got them. When we said something about it, it took a long time before anything was done. Ended up having a few extra ice cubes. The food was good, we didn't have to wait long. When paying, they automatically ask for a tip, and "no tip" is written very small on the card machine. When we asked where the toilet was, we were assigned to the restaurant across the street. In short, not recommended

Had a 'late' lunch with my friend this afternoon. Ordered 2x gluten-free sandwiches, 1 with salmon, 1 with chicken. Gluten free due to celiac disease. This probably does not work 'cleanly' for celiac disease. Got all the symptoms of a gluten error. Too bad, because the menu says 'gluten-free possible' everywhere. In addition, there was not enough occupancy for the people sitting there, which meant some had to wait a very long time to order.

The restaurant was almost empty at lunchtime. We had a chicken sandwich and a rendang sandwich. The chicken had a very special structure. The rendang sandwich was very thinly filled, but tasty. The sandwiches cost between 12-14 euros. The order was fast. Our drinks within 5 minutes and our sandwiches 10 minutes later. The plates were beautifully laid out! In terms of beer, there was only Leffe Blond and Stella Artois (5.50 euros). The waitress did not walk by to ask if the food tasted good or to ask if we wanted anything to drink. In short: quite expensive considering the quality and service.

The salad was very little for the price you paid. The poached egg that came with it was just hard boiled. Unfortunately the bread was also very tough. Definitely not recommended, never coming back. Went here this morning for breakfast. It was busy and there were not enough staff. It took a very long time before we were helped at all. Anyway, who knows, the food might be tasty: a shame. The eggs were cold, the “grilled” (so warm you would think) tomatoes just came out of the freezer. Then you think you've had it all, but here they manage to serve the coffee with a vinegar flavor. They had diluted the orange juice nicely: it was like drinking lemonade. Finally, the bill: we wanted to refrain from tipping... the waiter asks me(!): would you still like to tip? No, certainly not, it sounded. The bias may be due to the location, but we will never come back here.

What a great experience at Vascobelo! The ice tea was delicious, and despite the crowds I was helped within 5 minutes. The food took a little longer, but I totally understand. I have worked in the catering industry myself and know how hard work is done behind the scenes. Compliments to the chefs, bar staff and waitresses! The tipping system is super convenient, although it would be nice if you could choose an amount yourself. Anyway, a great place! I will definitely come back here more often.

For this being my first time in Netherlands I enjoyed my meal here. The staff is so pleasant and nice. The food was very delicious and easy to order. I highly recommend if you need a little pick me up or breakfast ❤️

Basically the worst lunch experience ever. We were told the food will take 15-20 minutes. We waited for 45 minutes just to get cold food. 2 out of 5 ordered items were wrong. We asked for a takeaway box because we were already late just to be told “they don’t do takeaway boxes”. Also, terrible coffee for such an expensive coffee machine. Just avoid, there are a thousand better ways to spend your money and time.

We paid almost 25 euros for a small tasteless hummus sandwich, a mouse bite cake, a cold latte macchiato and a mint tea. Not worth our time and money at all. The chip shop was not working so we could not choose half of the menu. You would really rather eat somewhere else.

Cozy terrace. Time for a nice cappuccino. Helped quickly. Service was fine. Only super annoying that you cannot pay by contact but have to pay by debit card. And then also ask for a tip in English when paying with your debit card. Just look/read carefully on the device. It says NO TIP at the bottom. Just click that and you're done. Unfortunately for Vascobelo's company policy, next time we will go to the neighbor for a cappuccino (and more) where you can pay in cash.

The low reviews really surprise me. Yesterday I had dinner here and ordered a classic chicken, which was very tasty. It did take a while for someone to take my order, and I had to wait about 30 minutes for my food, but that's understandable considering how busy it was. The staff was super friendly, and I tipped myself. As for the "mandatory" tip that some people are complaining about: a tip for you, if you look closely at that ATM, you will see the "no tip" option. Click on that and you just pay the original price without tip. It's just a matter of reading.

Taking the order takes a very long time, even though there were not many guests on a Sunday afternoon around lunchtime. We were a family of 5. One dish came almost immediately, the rest had to wait. That is already problem one, because it can be done much better and must be done differently. You expect everything at the same time so that you eat at the same time. The other three received their food at the same time, but number four had to wait even longer (2 croquettes with bread). Ultimately forgot to pass it on to the kitchen. The waiter who came to take the order didn't have a note either, but had to do everything from memory. That's where things go wrong again. Drink order was also incomplete. The 'toasted sandwich' was very hard and was less edible than it looked. Nor is it richly invested as shown in the picture. All in all not recommended. Two free drinks is nice after your complaint, but we came for lunch. This case has much more potential than is currently being realized. Maybe give the staff a course on how to run a perfect restaurant? Because the prices promise better quality and service than what the customer gets. Shame. I'm sure this restaurant can be great, but right now it just doesn't work out that way. I would not recommend this restaurant, especially at this time, and eat and/or drink somewhere else.

I've lived in Europe for almost 20 years and this is the first time I've experienced such a bad coffee shop. Not only did they refuse to admit that the coffee was wrong, they blamed the customers. They accidentally spilled coffee on a customer's trousers, and the first thing the manager did was come over and question them. I really don't understand it. I can only recommend that you avoid this place.

The place itself looks very neat, it has no toilets, so you have to go to the general toilets next to this restaurant. We had to wait 45 minutes for a sandwich with 2 croquettes and a hummus sandwich, which tasted fine. No idea why it took so long, service didn't seem very friendly.

I rarely write a review, but my experience today was very bad at this place Unfriendly staff, they look at you as if you came from another planet, there are no toilets, so I couldn't change my 8 month old son. When I asked if I could do this on a mat I brought with me, they preferred to say no. Today, June 7, 2024, we spent a day at Hoog Catharijne in Utrecht. We went shopping with my wife and had lunch at Vascobelo. What lovely staff, really friendly and attentive. Even the various delicious lunches were served in a divided manner, which is what I call customer-oriented. And without asking for it (it came out casually when ordering), class.

This place looks more like a garbage dump than a cafe. Not recommended. Expensive, not tasty and very dirty.

Thanks to Giorgio and all the guys for having accommodated all our requests, regarding the intolerances that some of us have, and for offering us an excellent service.

Giorgio and his team were amazing! They accommodated our dietary restrictions and also advised us on pairing and what to have. They joked with us and welcomed us beautifully! 10/10 would reccomend and go again :)

We were not received. I had to go get someone to take our food. It went smoothly when ordering. We got the wrong drinks, the wrong food and 2 forks instead of a knife and fork? After I brought back the wrong food, we later saw my correct order go across the terrace and back into the kitchen. I had to figure this out myself again. The clerk himself also indicated that he did not intend to continue looking for the right table. Eggs and sauce on the eggs Scandinavia were both cold. I think the bread that came with it came from the freezer because it was also ice cold in the middle. So no success.

Ordered 2 brie sandwiches. The crust was so hard that the knife couldn't get through it. The brie was sliced ​​so thin that we couldn't taste it. The fig chutney dominated. This was a one-off for us. Definitely not recommended.

The Caesar salad would consist of romaine, chicken, avocado, parmesan and a poached egg. Unfortunately, there was no fresh poached egg with the salad but an ice-cold “boiled” egg from a bucket from the wholesaler. When the waitress came to ask if everything was to your liking, we indicated that this was not to your liking and also not according to the menu. This was followed by a shrug of the shoulders and whether she could take the plates with her. No apologies, no discount, nothing. Disappointing experience.

I was frankly surprised by the 2.9/5 rating on google upon checking this place after I had lunch here. Food >> my Eggs Benedict - were perfect on a toasted brioche bun. Drinks >> I had a cappuccino while my friend had their “dirty” matcha coffee - if I recall the name correctly. He said it was very good , so I had a taste and liked it very much too. Ambiance >> I love the decor and ambiance here and would definitely come again: Service >> Service was friendly, no complaints whatsoever :)

After an hour long wait, we got cold soup. Not recommended. I'm a picky eater, but I don't recommend this place.

Compared to other locations, this one is very disappointing. The service level is more suited to a fast takeaway chain than a lunchroom in the more expensive segment.
