Yesterday we celebrated a wedding! We chose this Ukrainian restaurant and were delighted!!! The atmosphere is incredible! The dishes are delicious, and the staff is very friendly, as if we were at home! I was especially impressed by Ms. Alla, who perfectly supported the mood and added a festive atmosphere! We will definitely come back again! Thank you!

At the beginning of the week, I ordered two snack platters for Friday, only to be told they didn't have time. Very strange.

I was pleasantly surprised by this Ukrainian restaurant! The owner is incredibly kind and takes the time to explain the traditional Ukrainian dishes, which makes the whole experience even more special. The menu offers a wide variety of options, the food was perfectly executed, and the portions were very generous. I’ll definitely come back to try the dishes I haven’t had yet!

We live in Barcelona, but during our visit to Groningen we discovered this Ukrainian restaurant – and honestly, we have never experienced service like this anywhere before. Everything was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The food was outstanding: the shuba (a traditional Ukrainian layered salad) was simply unforgettable, the borscht was full of flavor and felt like true comfort in a bowl. Every dish was prepared and presented at the highest level. The service was beyond exceptional – warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive. We sat outside and they brought us blankets to make sure we felt cozy and comfortable. On top of that, we were treated with homemade liqueurs and even received a beautiful gift set to take with us. This was not just a dinner – it was a truly unforgettable experience. We are still amazed by the hospitality and generosity. We will definitely come back again, and we will recommend this place to all our friends and everyone we know. The three amazing young women who served us – and who also run this business– were simply incredible. Their kindness, energy, and passion made the whole experience even more special. Simply outstanding!

Really great food and good service, highly recommend

Don't you think it's necessary to post information that your establishment is closed? On 08/31/25 I booked a table online. But... I just knocked on a closed door. You have nothing to do with Ukrainian service.

I found the food to be very good. The service is very friendly. The atmosphere is very good. The interior looks beautiful. Five stars for me.

Proper serving of borscht, very tender and tasty pork sausage, homemade liqueurs for connoisseurs. A complete basic set of dishes for nostalgia or to get acquainted with authentic Ukrainian cuisine. Not many seats, so I recommend booking in advance.

What a pleasant surprise in terms of food! We had a mix of small starters, which were all very different, but very tasty! Together we ate 1 main course, beef tongue. Again very tasty and the meat very tender. The portions are generous and we could not both eat another main course after the tasting of starters. We also shared a dessert and this was a solid layer cake, this while enjoying a fresh sea buckthorn tea. Ukraine food is definitely recommended if you want to eat something different. The lady serving was alone and she was fast and that without it looking rushed. Despite the fact that it was almost full, we did not have to wait long for the food and our drinks and she had everything under control, many catering establishments can take an example from this. We will definitely come back and it is an asset to Groningen.

We spent a very pleasant Friday evening at this restaurant. It was recommended to reserve a table, which we did, and it proved to be a good idea as the place was absolutely packed. We were four, which gave us a good opportunity to try various dishes - the borsch, the eggplant rolls, the pelmeny, the holubtsie and the vega-style deruny were all excellent choices (both in terms of taste and size) and the desserts (syrnyky and medovyk) put the cherry on the cake. The atmosphere was warm and familiar, the staff/hosts were extremely kind and attentive, so we are looking forward to coming again. PS1: definitely try the cranberry drink (mors) Update (April 2025) - we returned to the place and, to our satisfaction, everything was perfect again. Keep up the good work!

The restaurant is a fantastic place to go. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere is super nice and quiet, the service is nice and always wants to chat. We always go there when we have something to celebrate.

Dichtbij het Noorderplantsoen tref je dit restaurant. Het eten is top, de porties zijn goed, het personeel is vriendelijk en de zelfgemaakte likeuren zijn ook een aanrader. Het voorgerecht en toetje hebben wij gedeeld en dat was meer dan genoeg! Ik kom zeker nog eens terug.

This has to be my favorite restaurant in Groningen! And I have never tried Ukrainian cuisine before. The food was unbelievable, with amazing flavor combos and details. My friend who detests dill with passion loved the way dill was incorporated in the dishes they have here. The staffs were all so sweet, just like their homemade liquors. Thank you for the experience!

Delicious food, quick service. But when the front door opens, a lot of cold comes in and you become numb. Maybe install a draft screen. Then people sit longer and have dessert.

We had a really delicious meal at Ukraine Food. It is a small homely restaurant that can seat up to 30 people. The room is warmly decorated and the service is super friendly. As a starter we opted for Fernyky. The Varenyky were filled with potatoes and cheese. We then filled a parmesan container with bacon and onion. All really delicious. As a main course I took beef buzhenyna. I was served deliciously tender meat with well-cooked vegetables. I was also served some extra vegetables, sauce and potatoes separately. Can't say anything other than that the main course was fantastic. The decoration of the board was also beautiful. All in all we had a great experience at Ukraine Food. My idea was that it would be more of a street food restaurant, but actually they choose to serve the food luxuriously on the plate. Luckily the portions were large! I do think that the price of the starter is not entirely in proportion to what you get. If I have one criticism, this would be my only criticism. I'm a fan and will definitely come back!

It's a pity that you have made the choice to change into a trendy liflafjes restaurant with miniscule portions for which you also have to pay a ridiculous amount. This is not what I'm used to from a Ukrainian restaurant. The decadent crowd will appreciate this concept, but certainly not everyone. I think it's a shame, because you started very well and I think it went well with the old concept.

Would not recommend it. First of all, it took one hour to get our food served when the restaurant was not very crowded, there were only four more tables occupied. I ordered Pelmeni, which price is 25 euro and, although the dumplings tasted good, the portion was really small (8 pieces) for that price. It was definitely not a filling portion and, to be honest, I sort of felt scammed because I paid 30+ euro for 8 dumplings and a beer. I wouldn't come back

The food here is really delicious. Well prepared, beautifully presented dishes. These are somewhat different dishes than you normally find in every restaurant. Tip: chicken kyiv. But also very tasty starters and desserts, wow. Just different, but all very tasty. The ladies are very friendly and explain the special dishes clearly (only the word 'herring' is complicated to pronounce). This restaurant is recommended to many people.

Delicious food. We took the 5 course menu. Main course was a lot of meat, which was too much for us. All other courses very tasty. Service was top notch, friendly waitress who talked about the food and her own experiences with it.

Very good food!! Very friendly people and it's cozy. It's very tasty. All food is recommended. The tater tots are great. The duck was super tasty and tender. Only the pork roulade was slightly dry, everything else was well prepared and nicely presented. The food is quite salty and greasy, but that is part of this delicious cuisine. It is more pricey, but it is also filling. You have to have and take the time. Everything is freshly prepared and can therefore take a while. The service is also often in the kitchen, but they try to serve you as best as possible. There are also a few tables outside in a quiet area. It's definitely worth a try.

Había visto este lugar cuando pasaba en bicicleta bastante a menudo. Como nunca había probado comida ucraniana antes, decidí ir con un amigo. Definitivamente valió la pena. El veganismo y las alergias se contabilizaban profesionalmente, y la comida era muy sabrosa. El personal era agradable. Para aquellos que no beben alcohol, el Mors definitivamente vale la pena intentarlo.

We ordered snack bowls for a team day. The lady who delivered it arrived exactly at the agreed time and really took the trouble to put it up nicely. The food was really delicious and great value for money. Recommended!

Love the food! A bit unfortunate that they changed the menu, so the portions are smaller now but the prices are higher (like the liquor set is now double the price than what it was a couple months ago). I guess they’re moving from being a homely cozy place to a fancier setting.

High quality from the start (end of 2022), exceptional how Ukraine Food converts Slavic cuisine into fine dining (mid 2024). One of the best Slavic restaurants in Western Europe with a wonderful hostess (Yana). Recommended for the beginner: Breast, chicken Kyiv (or duck leg) and the plank with the liqueurs.

El ambiente es acogedor y dulce. Puedes escuchar música ucraniana todo el tiempo. Comimos pollo de Kiev, pata de pato, Deruny y pastel de Medovyk. Todo era de primera categoría y muy bien servido. El personal es amable y servicial.

We went here with a committee from the Eye Association (the patient association for the blind and partially sighted), because another member had already been here before and he was very enthusiastic. And he certainly didn't exaggerate! What a cozy, intimate restaurant. The waitress tried very hard to speak flawless Dutch (which she did very creditably). The food was unknown but very tasty. The drinks were Dutch and Belgian, and combined very well with the delicacies from the Ukraine. A place to go back to!

Our expectations were high after we saw so many positive reviews. Still, the food was better than expected. Servers were very kind as well. Would definitely like to eat here again sometime if we're in the area.

We had a great time at Ukraine Food! I’d been here once before, and the food is fantastic. Everything really tastes ‘homemade’ in the best possible way. Especially the appetizers were great: the borsjt, the pelmeny, the herring and potato salad, the little rolls of pork with filling. One tiny point of criticism is that my main dish, the fried potato pancakes, was a bit too salty. But everything else was just wonderful. We’ll definitely be back!

We had dinner here with the whole family to celebrate the 25th anniversary of my aunt and uncle's wedding anniversary. The food was bizarrely delicious, the service was perfect and the atmosphere was very pleasant. They were extremely hospitable and really introduced us to Ukrainian cuisine for an evening.
