Uncommon cafe was on my to go list for quite sometime, The place is small and cozy and offers great freshly brewed coffee and great options for both breakfast and brunch. The eggs dishes were super delicious, flavored and beautifully presented. Waffles were okay-ish a bit too soft for my tastes needs to be a bit more crunchy, it tasted more like a pancake than waffles. The avocado toaste was pretty good and the spices sprinkled on the top took it to another level. Overall a great experience and definitely will be back to try more options.

Over priced poor quality coffee. 18 euros for two lame coffees and a pastry. Staff ask people to wait outside whilst making their, order so the place looks busy.

There was a hair in our food 🤮🤢. Even though the food was delicious, it was strange that they didn't offer a sincere apology and told us we should have reported it sooner (which we did when we saw it)... a bit odd, right?

Magnificent place! Very well located. The ace latte (€5.50) is very good, 10/10. For coffee connoisseurs, I recommend it! The croissant (€3.50) is also good, I give it 8/10. A carafe of water is provided at the table (a plus for a Belgian 😋). The service is impeccable! And the prices are reasonable. 🙂

Really nice specialty coffee shop that clearly knows their coffee! A great selection of filter, as well as a creative banana cold brew. Banana bread was good, too. They have a lot of brunch items that looked delicious, I’ll have to try next time! Service was fast and friendly. I came twice on my weekend trip to Amsterdam!

Great coffee every time and a solid spot for lunch and baked goods. The interior is definitely due for a refresh. A makeover would really lift the atmosphere. Still, a cozy place I keep coming back to

the iced matcha latte is literally just milk and expensive 6€ for a cup with just milk in it… i went back in and pointed out that the drink is just milk - hoping that perhaps the barista will offer me an extra bit of matcha tea inside, and i say this while also working in horeca and following my experience i would do exactly that but the lady just said to me that this is their recipe and there is nothing she can do about it. quite a dissatisfying experience, won’t come back.

Very bad. They brought the coffee and food 10 minutes later. They also refused to accept cash payments and didn't tell us until we had already eaten.

One of the best breakfast I had in Europe. The summer toast was just out of this world. The flat white was great as well. Very cozy and stylist place. I recommand.

My girlfriend and I were just there. Perfect place, nice and cozy for breakfast. Above all, the two German waitresses were incredibly attentive. We wanted to sit outside, but unfortunately there were no free tables. They kept an eye out for us and let us know as soon as something became available. We’ve rarely been served so nicely.

Update: Just as great as the last visit. The porridge was gorgeous. Top coffee and food on hasamiyaki. Real people who care about what they serve.

Why isnt this place on more pastry lists?? It definitely lives up to its name of uncommon, had one with fermented mango filling. But was very good even though i was nervous!!! Definitely give this place a try.

As an Australian, uncommon reminds me of a coffee shop back home. Great vibes, really clean set up. I was served quickly and had a good conversation with the waiter. The coffee and pastry was a good little brunch!

The food was very good! We tried the spring toast, the bread was amazing. Maybe a little expensive, but the staff was very kind and we had overall a great experience!

The coffee was good, but the green smoothie (forgot the name) was an odd concoction... would not recommend the latter one. The pastries, however, were very nice.

Uncommon Cafe is a cool little spot. The vibe is chill and cozy, perfect for grabbing a coffee and just relaxing. Their coffee is always on point - smooth and strong without being bitter. They’ve got great pastries too, thanks to their sister café just across the street. It’s not crowded, making it perfect for working or catching up with friends. Feels like a hidden gem where you can slow down and enjoy. Definitely my go-to when I want good coffee, tasty treats, and a relaxed vibe.

One of the best roasters in Amsterdam! I tried the Colombian espresso and the filter coffee, they were all delicious and worth a visit. The place is small and sometimes you have to wait at the door to be let in.

Cozy café with great coffee and pastries Uncommon Café is a lovely spot for coffee lovers in Amsterdam. It’s quite crowded, but we managed to get a table quickly. One of the highlights is that they serve pastries from Uncommon Bakery after it closes — and they are a must-try! I especially loved the one with apricot jam and chocolate, such a delicious combo. The coffee is top quality and definitely worth it, but I wouldn’t recommend the hot chocolate — it was underwhelming compared to the coffee. A great place for a coffee break and sweet treat.

Uncommon Bar is an absolute gem in Amsterdam. The people who work here are genuinely kind and welcoming. Their filter coffee and cold brew are hands down the best in town! The fermented food in the evening and pastries are incredibly delicious and special. Must try are the asparagus and miso strawberry and for drink the Pina. It’s the kind of place you’ll keep coming back to.

I came to Amsterdam for just one day, and visiting this café was on the top of my list. It was raining, all the tables were taken, and I was exhausted after a 24-hour bus ride, with an injured leg. I just wanted to sit down and enjoy a coffee. They pointed me to the only available seat — a high stool at the bar — but the person next to it was so rude that I couldn’t even sit. I had to place my heavy bag on the chair and stand, waiting for my order. When a table finally became available, I tried to sit down, but a staff member in a cap stopped me and said I couldn’t take it because it was “for two people” — even though other solo visitors were sitting at similar tables nearby without any issue. In the end, I had to sit near the door with my painful leg, while watching the same staff member kindly seat another solo guest at a table for two. The coffee may have been good, but this experience completely ruined my mood for the whole day.

We visited here looking for a place to eat something simple for breakfast, but there were really a lot of people. We sat at the bar and a female employee took our order. When we asked her to recommend a menu, she kindly explained each menu item to us. It was the first friendly store I've ever been to in the Netherlands. Anyway, the flat white was delicious, and the banana bread? It was sweet, but the combination of cacao nibs and raspberry sauce was good. The plain croissant was just okay.

Refreshing and creative menu made it hard to choose. I liked the ambience though it was a bit on the noisy side. The service was kind and patient which I think actually is uncommon for Amsterdam center. The huge window makes for great light as well as a great spot for people watching even when seated inside. The coffee was great and the matcha seemed to be great quality too. Will definitely return to try more.

I only ordered croissants, banana cake and two cups of latte. I was amazed after taking a bite of my mom's croissant. The skin is very crispy and has distinct layers (The layers inside are so thin that light is translucent) The creamy aroma is very rich after chewing Add some pain au chocolat right away Just as delicious The latte is big and has cute latte art on it. Uncommon Café completely blew me away. The food was amazing—especially the banana bread, which was absolutely delicious. Their matcha was divine, one of the best I’ve had. Apparently you can’t sit at a 2 persons table and read a book if you are alone…crazy. Service was bad because I felt rushed to get out of there and “make room” for more paying customers. And the matcha was just foam…left after 10min.

We have been tasting coffee and pastries for 5 days across Amsterdam and this location was by far our favorite. We went a second time, and it was just as amazing.

It was not a good experience. I ordered a flat white, which I expected more for. The coffee was too acidic for my taste. I ordered a pain au chocolate too because the menu is vegan (I did not know it was a vegan place, which was my mistake) and it did not seem appealing at all. And to top it all off, you are paying and the dog at the next table licks your pants. It is disgusting and unpleasant. Dogs should only be allowed on the terraces; no matter how well-behaved they are, they bark and do not know how to behave.

The black rice congee was a standout—chipotle confit mushrooms, homemade rayu, crispy lotus, kombucha-pickled fennel, and sunflower cream created an explosion of textures and flavors. The nourishing bowl was just as satisfying: white bean soup, fermented chili-roasted cabbage, roasted Jerusalem artichoke, chive parsley oil, crispy lotus, and purslane—comforting and invigorating all at once. The menu is detailed, transparent about sourcing, and beautifully curated with seasonal, farm-to-table ingredients. Whether you’re sitting down for a full meal or grabbing a pastry and coffee to go, everything is made with care. Uncommon Café is a refreshing, modern take on wholesome dining, and I can’t wait to return on my next trip to Amsterdam. My friend and I ordered the Kimchi and the Spring toast - I gave a low rating because each cost 15.5 euros, for one slice of toast, the taste is decent, but I didn’t find it a filling nourishing meal and for me definitely overpriced.

I really wanted to like this place but is so underwhelming. It is very cute, service is good, staff is pleasant, but everything else was just… barely passable. The coffee was unexpectedly bad taste. The food was ok, but very overpriced for what it was. Wouldn’t recommend it, there are a lot of similar places in less hyping areas, this one is just not great. :(

The place was empty and I went there, asked to sit down and ordered something, but as soon as I opened my laptop - the waitress told me there was no laptop allowed... and I had to leave 😂 this is a café lol, not a restaurant! - not surprising the place is empty. Just went to the one next door and had no problem.

Excellent place for brunch. We were seated very quickly, even though the whole cafe was full of people. The service was pleasant. The only thing was that our food took a very long time to arrive, but as I mentioned above, it was very crowded. The food had a very unusual taste, which I liked – I enjoy trying new things. The signature drinks were very tasty.

Great cafe would definitely recommend going here. The staff is super friendly and helpful, great overal atmosphere. The food is very good and super tasty, had the banana bread and the kimchi toast here and will be going back to try more of there menu.

I went there today with my partner, it was cozy and had a really nice atmosphere. The drinks were okay, the foam from the banana bread cold brew was incredible. We got the oats to share, so from a foodie this is how it was: The first few bites were heavenly but after that the spices were just too heavy and overpowering; the yoghurt provided a nice break and refresh feeling from the heaviness of the oats; the candied pecans and cashews were really nice but I think they would have been incredible if they were crunchy to provide that combination of textures. The service was okay, it felt a bit off and forced? Not from all the staff, some of them were so friendly and nice but you could feel the vibe from some of them. Smiling to the client and then turning and immediately breaking the smile shows the client that your interactions are fake. I get that working in hospitality is not easy and very tiring, but it if I as a customer am not being rude and I just sat down it makes you feel a bit uncomfortable.

Came here for breakfast on a Saturday and absolutely loved it. Very unique flavours and menu, of which all ingredients are locally sourced or foraged. Clearly a lot of thought and love went into the food. I ordered the banana bread and kimchi toast. Both delicious. Banana bread was a touch sweet but I’m not a sweet tooth generally. My friend got the warm oats and enjoyed that as well. Note that if you are coming on a weekend, try arrive as early as possible. We arrived when it opened at 9am and by 10am it was completely full. Pictured is the kimchi toast and the Uncommon food menu - such an interesting menu. Also the pastries from their sister business across the road ‘Uncommon Bar’ which focuses on coffee and uncommon pastries.

Nice little café with good food and drinks! Perfect spot for a Sunday afternoon to meet up with friends! The chai latte and banana bread are the best! The lunch portions are fulfilling and looks amazing.

Considering this café is right across the street from the other Uncommon, I expected a similar experience—but it was the complete opposite. My cappuccino with oat milk was watery and bland, lacking any depth of flavor. I also ordered a cinnamon pastry, which turned out to be nothing more than plain bread with a hint of cinnamon—not at all what I was hoping for. The final price was the same as the other location, but the quality and taste didn’t even compare. On top of that, when I asked for water for my dog, they forgot, and even after a reminder, he was left thirsty. The atmosphere was also chaotic—overcrowded and noisy to the point where it was unpleasant to stay. With such a stark contrast between the two, I’d recommend crossing the street to the better Uncommon!

You can really sit outside in the sun. I had the Iced Chai Latte twice, which I highly recommend. The service was great, you get free tap water, which is regularly refilled.

Immediately received a friendly welcome. We ordered a chocolate roll, banana bread and the kimchi toast (for 2). Beautiful presentation and delicious food. When we had to wait a little longer for our 2nd plate (5-7 minutes), we both received a free drink as compensation. Super friendly staff and cool place! Recommended!

Omg! Love this place so much! Walked in and was seated immediately. The waitress was super attentive. Was super thankful for the water upon arrival & then the matcha arrived! They even had agave for sweetener which made it even better! Unfortunately, they were sold out of the oats, instead I chose the banana bread/toast! Wow! It was amazing. I didn’t know that I could like ganache on toast for breakfast till now! Will be back again someday!

As an Asian American, I can vouch that the black rice congee is perfect! It contains deliciously sautéed oyster mushrooms and dried lotus roots. Perfect for both breakfast and lunch. They can be quite busy at peak hours (e.g. Sunday lunch time) and there can be 10-20 minutes wait for tables.

A delicious oat chai latte with banana bread, it was delicious!

Nourishing bowl, Black rice bowl(don't know the exact name of it) were both great. Warm, soupy, savory. Portion was proper as well. Each ingredient was layered, so I could enjoy the whole soup as a plated meal. Creative. And the cardamom bread is an option if you don't like desserts that are very sweet or sticky. The combination of the scent of the cardamom and the slightly crispy and fluffy texture was just right. A server was also very kind and I was grateful for that.

We were too late for kitchen closing so we didn’t try the menu. The quality of coffee was good with many options. The queue was long but we were lucky and the staffs are super nice and considerate 😊 Lovely atmosphere!
