Vapiano in Grachtengordel-Zuid

I've visited many Vapiano branches in Germany and always enjoy ordering the Reef & Beef. Unfortunately, this time was by far the most disappointing experience. The beef wasn't fresh, had an unpleasant flavor, and was tough due to overcooking – I even had to spit it out. The vegetables and sauce didn't seem fresh either; a sour aftertaste was clearly noticeable. The sauce itself was completely tasteless and lacked any typical flavor. Even salt and pepper couldn't salvage the dish. It's a real shame – especially compared to my previous positive experiences at Vapiano.

Unfortunately the pasta does not taste the same as it used to. They’re very greedy with the sauces and spices. It’s the second time this happened to me which is unfortunate because I used to looove the Vapiano pasta’s. Will not come again

You get the pasta pretty quick, but the pizza takes longer time. I didn't get the drink I ordered.

Disappointing. We dropped in for dinner for two. The table we took had been cleared, but was grubby -- the condiments holder was full of grime and a screwed up cigarette packed. The QR-code ordering system doesn't seem to work... at least 5 'wrong orders' were brought to our table before the food we ordered. The system also means that you don't really have a waiter/waitress allocated to your table who cares about your roder. I ordered the gorgonzola and honey pizza, which sounded lovely, but the chef had made a mozzarella and honey pizza by mistake. When I raised this with a waitress, she said "I'm not really an expert on cheese." I asked her to show it to the chef, who denied his mistake, despiten there clearly being no blue cheese on my pizza. My wife's pizza was actually okay. We gave up, ate and left. But we won't return. As other recent reviewers have stated, the staff don't really seem to care either way.

The best value in Europe, if there's a Vapiano where you are, go!!! Good food, well prepared, pleasant place for a fair price.

There is no solution, it is not that good

Very impersonal, noisy, takes too long before you get your food. Absolutely no atmosphere. What was worst for us is that you can't ask anyone anything or speak to anyone. No allergy information. You order via qr code and then pay online immediately. So if you want to pay cash, that's not possible. First time we were served food that we didn't order. My company got food, after fifteen minutes I went to ask if I would get my food too. Otherwise it didn't matter anymore. Actually worthless

I had to wait 45 minutes for my food. There's no reason why you should go to Vapiano instead of a regular Italian restaurant. Price—expensive. Service—unfriendly and slow. Service—poor. Taste—okay.

Was an amazing restaurant! Came in a large group (25 adults), and they were very accommodating. Fast and kind service, followed up with delicious food!

I can with a reservation and a group of 25, and it was fantastic! The food was really good, and the portion sizes were fantastic! The staff was really kind and patient. They were also willing to customize several of their meals for us. I would definitely come here again, either with a large or small group.

Food served cold coffee 45 minutes late this is not the only Vapi where things are going badly not the same anymore

Portions have become smaller and more expensive. You are no longer allowed to sit upstairs, where you can sit more comfortably because daylight comes in, because they have too few staff. You have to wait a long time for your food.

Dit is mijn favoriete eetplek in Amsterdam. Lekkere Italiaanse gerechten. Vegetarisch en gezond eten (volkoren spelt pasta ) is beschikbaar. Dit alles aan een interessante prijs. Het personeel is vriendelijk en efficiënt. Dank aan Elisabeth, Walter, William en aan hun collega’s die koken.

It was everything but Al dente the pastas were way too cooked. It was impossible to eat it and I really I would not recommend this to anyone even to my worst enemy. This was so horrible. I don’t wanna eat here anymore. I think even in hell it’s more than here. My friend didn’t have like her her plates for 30 minutes plus and we waited so long and then she got the wrong dish and it was super spicy and basically crying because of it and me and my other friend had some really really hard eating pasta, overcooked way too overcooked.

Attention All!! Last Saturday, April 9, I ordered 2 pastas and drinks. I placed my order by scanning the QR code as they indicated. Then, after a long wait, I spoke to the waiter and indicated how on earth they are going to know where my order will end up. They were told to just wait. Then we switch to an empty table because I had been fasting and had eaten and drank since yesterday. Have also clearly indicated this to the staff. I have now waited more than an hour and reported it again to several staff members and to the kitchen members. The following points were pointed out to me: - You will not get your money back, but you will receive a voucher. My answer was just give the voucher to my guest, I want my food and drinks. Didn't receive a voucher either. Then I get a paste after more than an hour without drinking. And I soon saw that my order was incorrect and immediately called the waitress and indicated that this is not my order. Unfortunately I couldn't take a photo of it. Received a pasta with tagliatelle and without extra shrimp while I had ordered with pasta type campanelle. Waitress says it's my fault. That I didn't check the box correctly. Still, I waited quietly and explained my order again, fully informed. Not even anything was written with pen and paper. The table next to me also received the wrong order. I have now had to speak to 2 employees again, the first of which indicated that you are still waiting. The second indicates show your order via the app. I indicated that I could not do that because I always use a private browser. I did show my bank statements (which the manager said was sufficient but okay). This time I really asked to at least get my drink since I haven't been able to break my fast yet. Was told that wasn't possible. Because the entire order must first be ready. She then dares to drink an ice-cold drink in front of me while I candidly share my situation that I'm fasting. I got some pasta the last 20 minutes before closing. Pasta was divided indecently. Missing bread, drinks and of course extra shrimp, while I was told that the entire order would be delivered complete. The last waiter was really a great guy who was wise enough to call in the manager. Safi, you know how to speak to someone, many people can learn from you. Finally spoke to the manager last 10 minutes before closing. She said would you at least want something to drink after I had spoken briefly. Indicated no. I said that this is really not possible and I paid and waited 2 hours. For absolutely nothing!!

What a tragedy, I've been waiting for my food for over 45 minutes now, and it's not even that busy. Service is a drama, I see 1 (one) person doing his best, his colleagues strolling around aimlessly. Tip of flip: don't tip. Let them work first. Too bad I already paid, otherwise I would have walked away.

Arrived over 1:30h before closing time. There were plenty of tables available and was told that they would not be able to accommodate two people as it was too busy. The whole upper floor was available and still no way to eat there. A restaurant dismissed customers with plenty of space, time and employees available is ridiculous. This is the kind of thing that makes a place deserve bankrupcy. Update: Tried visiting again at 20:25, closing time is at 22h. Plenty of available spots and was told that they are not accepting walk-ins because they are "already too full". Ridiculous.

No atmosphere, music, acoustics. Service is bad, I got my pasta 20 minutes before the rest of the table got their pizza. I got the wrong ice tea and when I asked for the right one they said it was gone. The menu said that the cheesecake had strawberry jam, this was not the case. And when we asked questions about it they said again: "it's gone". Very nice... The food is mediocre. Not recommended. They also answer reviews with chat gpt and don't even take the time to adjust this.

The waiter is unfriendly. The food was way too sweet and half burnt. The dessert menu states that there was a sauce, but I didn't get it. The drink was also not right... Definitely not recommended!

First time in Amsterdam I can't tell you how happy We were when we saw a Vapiano just across the street from our hotel as we usually go to various Vapiano's branches in London it its always 5*. Not you from the second we stepped into your restaurant there was no customer service "just go to middle and pick a table you can scan to order" and that is fine must places work like that anyway. The only table available was disgusting and my daughter said that ok we order and will asked them to clean when they come with the drinks, so we did and the waiter looked at us like we asking the something out of the normal but again ok maybe he doesn't understand English very well that's fine I'm not English myself. second waiter comes with garlic bread as I asked again can our table be clean before you bring us food as to she responded sure no problem came back with some paper and a spray that she sprayed all over us ( should have left then ) but NO we stayed and after 2 tables that came after us got their food 1st and send it back one we don't know why second it was wrong order and 45 min down the line we got our pastas after complaining about the time waiting we got 2 plates of OVERCOOKED STUCK TOGHETHER WATERY TASTELESS PASTA I ever tasted in my life at this point we decided to get up and leave , Let me tell you that 4 waiters saw us stand up and leave leaving behind full plates not 1 asked us if everything was OK and our plates were not the only ones we saw full in empty tables as we left.

De kwaliteit van het eten was echt heel slecht. Geen van de gerechten was goed en smakelijk. Vieze nasmaak. Daarnaast werd het eten niet gelijk uitgeserveerd. Slechts ervaring. Komen nooit meer terug.

Poor quality food. Never had such a bad meal before. Diluting a bag with water gives an even better taste than what we ate tonight. Alternatively, we could have the food again... no thank you. I can process this food all evening 🤢

Actually deserves 0 stars. There was no service at all because you had to do everything online yourself. The food was really terrible. We had various pasta dishes and garlic bread. There was no seasoning at all and even frozen food tastes better. Eat anywhere but there!

Vapiano isn’t what it used to be anymore. The carbonara sauce is different, more runny and flavourless. The pasta is a lot thinner and less aldente. Quite a shame since it was my favorite:(

We waited for 45minutes for two plates of pasta… the atmosphere is great however it’s not ok that it takes so long for such a simple order since the restaurant wasn’t full.

The food was very good as in all vapiano, the atmosphere and place very nice. According to my experience in chain restaurants they were slow in service. Everything else is fine

If you don't have 3 hours to spare, don't waste your time, the orders don't take less than 30 minutes to arrive, the same goes for the desserts and they made the wrong order at all the tables even though we ordered on the internet. (They responded to this comment, in the response they left a field [name of your company] forgetting to fill it in, professionalism really needs to be reviewed from start to finish)

Very slow service …: but the girl was amazing

Used to be very nice place to go with worth it meals , now the portions are really small and without taste and more expensive. the place is not clean at all, everything looks like old , the toilet smell bad e the tiles on the floor floating in water. Really sad . Ps: also really bad this answer from AI , at least check your answer before giving one ….

We found a piece of plastic in our pasta dish. We were in great danger of ruining our trip. We chose the place to celebrate my birthday. But we were unlucky.

At the table you could scan a QR Code so you could place your order. You can choose from different types of pasta, whether you want it spicy and add bread. You can also choose from different types of drinks such as cocktails, tea, lemonade, soft drinks and more. The prices for food and drinks are good. It was a nice experience and cozy atmosphere. There was nice music playing in the background. Very friendly staff and well decorated. Recently visited Vapiano again, and as always, it was a great experience! Perfect for a quick but high-quality meal. The pasta was fresh, well-seasoned, and just the way I wanted it. The atmosphere in the restaurant is also relaxed and inviting. What made this visit even better was the excellent service from Elisabeth. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything went smoothly. Truly someone who enjoys her job! All in all, highly recommended if you’re looking for a delicious, quick meal with great service. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Long wait. Cold food. Drinking what was expired. Too busy for 2 people in the service/bar. Bad experience at this location. Very unfortunate

The service was really shocking. All the (empty) tables around us had bottles and dirty dishes on them and the servers were only chatting with each other or on their phones. Tables where people had just eaten were not cleared, a really sad and lackluster intention. The food was ok but nothing really to write home about.

Very loose. There was only one waitress, the service was quite slow and they didn't work with the greatest enthusiasm in the world. Also, one worker was quite unfriendly, making unpleasant faces. The pizzas arrived cold. Very badly.

We waited a ridiculously long time, when we ordered we had to be at the cinema in 70 minutes for an activity, but Vapiano thought they would put a stop to this. The pasta arrived quickly, but then we waited 70 minutes for 4 pizzas. There wasn't a dog in sight in the restaurant, and they seemed to be playing Brawl Stars in the kitchen. In short: angry teacher and way too late.

Food was terrible and so was the service. There was only one person working the entire restaurant. The pasta was stodgy and completely over cooked, tasted nothing like it was meant to. Would not recommend.

Horrendous diner experience. Sat down next to the window where the cold winter wind came through all the time. Good we ordered together came separately and therefore we had to eat separate. The staff does their very best to please. Food, on the other hand, is bad compared to the price you pay. Cold and little taste. The food is also not served immediately, meaning your table companion has finished eating before you can start your own dish.

Excellent, with many options, clean and delicious food

Vapiano fue una mala experiencia. Nuestra pizza Calzone solo estaba caliente, no caliente. Se veía genial, había sido horneado en un horno, pero ahora se calentó en un magnetrón. Eso va en contra de mis estándares de cocina. Tuvimos que pagar por adelantado, onknown para mí como una persona de Amsterdam.

Had to wait more than half an hour for the ordered pasta and risotto. Food was way too salty. Furthermore, the taste was good. We ate it unlike other guests who left a lot of their pasta!

One of our favorite franchises that, unfortunately, we don't have close by in Spain. After having been to those in London, Budapest, New York or Washington, when we found out that there was one here too, we obviously couldn't miss it. As always wonderful, freshly made pasta, fresh ingredients, fast service and very good prices. Of course it is not like pasta in Italy, but you cannot go with that expectation to any pasta place and with these prices. Simple option if you are in Amsterdam for several days to eat something different from the local food.

Food really not edible, bland, overcooked and oily.

Fue terrible. Bruschetta estaba en pan mal tostado con cobertura vieja. La pasta no era reconocible y la mozarella en la ensalada caprese era casi tan sólida como el Gouda holandés normal. I was soooo looking forward to dining here as I love the branches in LDN however I was left disappointed; I didn’t even finish my food. The pasta was stogy - like the pasta was OVERcooked. The garlic bread was delicious. The espresso martini was a great fix. Just shame about the pasta (I imagined to eat out the prawns and chicken from my bowl :) ) there wasn’t any service as everything was ordered via QR code. Hopefully I caught them on a bad day and this isnt a regular occurrence.

Real bad experience. The carpaccio was still frozen. We were half way eating it and some people already got their maincourse. The other half got it 50 minutes later..... ? The pasta was really chewy. It was discusting. The pizza was also not nice. We had some problems with the drinks too. I wouldnt recommend to anyone.

Disfrutamos almorzar aquí. No dejes que el hecho de que se vea súper tranquilo desde la calle te desanime, ya que hay una planta baja donde se sientan otros huéspedes. La mujer que nos recibió fue muy amable. Era tranquilo, pero eso significaba que nos atendieron rápidamente. La comida era agradable - tuvimos la carbonara de salmón que sabía bien y la pasta parecía fresca. El pan de ajo con queso estaba muy bueno, aunque tuvimos que pedirlo ya que se olvidaron de hacerlo. Incluso si el personal no habla muy bien Inglés que hacen todo lo posible y honestamente no deberíamos esperar que lo hagan. Era un precio razonable para el centro de la ciudad y la calidad. A tener en cuenta - si tiene problemas de movilidad pida sentarse arriba, ya que hay muchas escaleras. Está escondido lejos de Rembrandtplein que podría perderse fácilmente, pero nos alegra que nuestro tranvía lo pasó y le dio una oportunidad. Mis hijos (adolescentes) me han dicho que es una cadena muy popular y siempre está ocupada en el centro de Londres, así que me alegro de que hayamos podido probarla sin las multitudes. No dejes que las otras críticas te dejen fuera, soy un comedor quisquilloso (pero me encanta la pasta) y sin duda volvería.

Everything was perfect and delicious, only issue was I felt like there was a few to many mushrooms on my pasta it just was a little over powering and hardly any chicken

Not a good choice for gluten free people there,our pizzas 🍕 were both served cold... nevertheless in business site is mentioned that penne are a gluten free available choice but finaly this was unavailable,moreover the waiter brought only one set of cutlery 🍴😂,what are you doing there guys? 🧐 Behave like professionals do ..never visiting that place again..

Vapiano Rembrandtplein Amsterdam: That the goods inspection service has not yet visited there. What a disgusting mess. Visited there with the whole family. By now my family had already finished eating. My order will be delivered after 45 minutes and what does it contain? A hair. Looked like a beard/pubic hair. Can happen. Of course I complained and since I have been coming there for years I decided to give them a chance. Received a refund and a new meal that I took home because it was far too late for the children. I'll come home. There is AGAIN a hair in it. Seemed like they just gave me the same meal. Of course I complained about this. And how you will be spoken to. Really rude. Never again Vapiano!! I still almost break my neck when I think about it. That my children ate that disgusting mess. What perverts

Too long wait. Ordered pasta and pizza. Pasta arrived 25 minutes ago and my pizza didn’t still arrive… usually for two people dishes should come in one time

Although the food was very good but I’m putting 1 star for the shift manager or the person who did lie to me for having a garlic suce that can be put on the bread. Simply, you are Italian restaurant, garlic suce or oil is expected and you do put it on the pasta and accordingly, I can put it on the bread.

Ordered via Uber eats. The pasta was undercooked, the onion was still half raw, the pasta was swimming in cream and tasted of nothing. The worst carbonara I have ever eaten. That they even call it a carbonara. I'm still nauseous after over an hour.

Vapiano is één van mijn favoriete eetplekken wanneer ik in het buitenland ben. Want jammer genoeg bestaat de keten - nog - niet in België. Wanneer ik in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Koblenz, London ben ga ik daar met plezier en lekkere smaak eten. Het personeel is overal vriendelijk. De eetplaatsen zijn gezellig.
