We thoroughly enjoyed the cozy atmosphere at Vessel. The dinner with its jazzy vibes, the friendly and spontaneous welcome, and the service made the evening! The eggplant with hummus and the accompanying wine were delicious. After a drink, we took a quick dip in the sauna and then rolled up in bed at Hotel July. The next morning, we enjoyed another delicious breakfast. Highly recommended!

A lovely, peaceful, and elegant hotel lobby/restaurant perfect for drinks, dinner, or simply to impress. A beautiful room with a high ceiling. In the evening, two jazz musicians played, giving the place a New York vibe. There's also an outdoor terrace with a beautiful view of the IJ River and the Pontsteiger. Even the restrooms are elegant.

Delicious and creative food and friendly staff. However, the lunch portions are very small and basic for the price. Charging €5 for a carafe of water, which is initially offered as if it were free, doesn't seem very polite or customer-friendly.

We had another wonderful evening at Vessel, enjoying the new menu with delicious choices. They even made special cocktails to our liking that weren't on the menu, thanks for that! Caesar served us very well that evening and recommended some great wines to go with our dishes.

Very attractive, extremely atmospheric.

The food was far below average; the appetizers and main courses were simply not good. The service was even worse: slow and inattentive. We had to ask for water three times, and drinks arrived after 15 minutes. Such a shame for such a beautiful location with so much potential.

Beautiful restaurant. The fish from the catch of the day was really good, and the pasta was also delicious. Unfortunately, the crumble had too little crumble and was more like red fruit compote. The carrots were a bit too hard and only lukewarm. The service was also a bit inattentive, and the dishes all arrived very staggered.

I had a long tough day in work and I returned to the hotel to relax. I was exhausted. Danielle was behind the bar and her incredibly bright and beautiful energy couldn’t help but make me smile. I really wish I could end every day this way!! I can’t wait to come back

Had a wonderful evening at Vessel yesterday. Started with a cocktail on the terrace. Then, inside, we enjoyed the beautiful setting, the delicious sea bass, and last but not least, the friendly staff. Highly recommended!

Lovely food, the starters were delicious, the steak and fish were well cooked, and orange cake for dessert was surprisingly amazing. Didn't actually realise this was inside a hotel, the atmosphere is lovely and nice decor. I would go back on a warm sunny day for the outside dining as it's by the waters edge.

Had a very nice experience at Vessel last week for a work dinner for 20 people. The events staff were very accommodating with all of our dietary restrictions and last minute requests. The wait staff were very punctual. Our waitress (Eva, I believe was her name) was fantastic and handled the many requests from our group in a timely manner. Food and drinks were very good, specifically the chicken thigh and dessert (portokalapita). Only positive remarks form my colleagues, which says something for a party of 20. Would highly recommend Vessel for a large work event, or for a small intimate evening, as the location on the canal was very nice. Thanks for taking care of us!

Excellent vegetarian and vegan dishes. We are not both vegetarians, but we both ate exclusively vegetarian. I have rarely eaten so well. A clear recommendation from us.

We were at the Vessel on July 17, 2025 and it was EXCELLENT! The bitterballen was the best we have had in Holland and the service was OUTSTANDING! Not to mention a lovely waterfront view!

We had a wonderful dinner! The sea bass was excellent!

Had a great first dinner here with a friend on our first day in Amsterdam. The food is good fusion with japanenese and Italian elements as well as grilled meat. I had the beef steak, well cooked, good texture and size and tasty non alcoholic beer. The highlight for us was the view onto the IJ waterfront where locals come to bath, sometimes in winter even naked, as the waitress jokingly told us!

Horrendous service. Sat down (didn’t get shown to a table, just pointed in the direction), sat there for 30 minutes waiting for a menu (let alone any actual service), while a bunch of teenagers sat around in uniform chatting with each other and doing nothing. AVOID.

Great nice place, we are lucky with Vessel around the corner. Service is attentive and 'just' very pleasant. Excellent wines by the glass and the snacks and the food are delicious. And then the location.... perfect!

With nice weather you feel like you are abroad, beautiful terrace with nice seats, where you are served at your beck and call. The staff are friendly and have time for a chat. Chris who served us knew his stuff and was able to explain well what the difference was in rosé from different countries! Which gave me as a wine lover the chance to talk about wine again. Very nice place to spend an afternoon. Compliments about the interior and staff.

Beautiful atmosphere with inside and outdoor dining. Inside has nice natural lighting and an open airy feel. Fantastic food and service was also great.

The staff is not well trained without knowing how to settle the payment properly. Secondly if they don’t want to work for hospitality they should just work somewhere else rather than showing us the attitude. There are lots of places better than here You can enjoy Hilton rooftop or Marriott if you want nice vibe such as W hotel. I won’t recommend anyone to come here as Amsterdam has a lot more than what here can offer with nicer service and vibe

One of the supervisors of the restaurant (Franco) should not work in hospitality. He was rude, ignorant and treated his guests with complete disrespect. The more junior staff however made up for his lack of feeling of hospitality, especially Marijn stood out as being very attentive to guests and extremely friendly. Food was very good, the sea bass even impressively tasty. It is a shame that Franco spoiled part of our otherwise good experience

Sat wonderfully! Great service, nice that it feels like 'an eye is being kept on things'. The staff works hard in the burning sun but with a smile! Julia even came to say hello, it is appreciated! We enjoyed ourselves and like to come here. Highly recommended if you want to sit by the water but want the comfort of good food, good wine/drinks and nice sanitary facilities (because the toilets in the Amsterdam catering industry are sometimes forgotten) see you soon!

We were here for breakfast from the hotel, the food is a bit the same, if you look at the breakfasts, almost all dishes are eggs and bread. The service is slightly above average, the location is cool, the view is super, the atmosphere is relaxing.

What a great spot for a summer evening by the water. Great view, swimming jetty right outside (so bring a bikini) and very attentive service (Bas!). Dessert tip: try the Greek orange cake

Some glass came of my tea glass (that looked really old) , and i think I swallowed some. Didn't have to pay for the tea, but the idea that I actually swallowed glass, I really don't like. Hope I don't get stomach problems or something.

Very relaxed atmosphere and very tasty food, keep it up

We celebrated our wedding at Vessel last week and had an absolute blast. The interior design is beautifully tasteful, blending modern and classic touches seamlessly. Our private room, The Galley, was just as charming as the main space. The Vessel staff were an absolute delight: professional, kind, and incredibly welcoming. We highly recommend Vessel as an event venue, and also as a cosy spot to grab a bite to eat.

Great and very friendly service, very tasty food and a great sun terrace. The breakfast was great and Easter Sunday got off to a great start.

It's certainly a nice location, but the food couldn't be served more carelessly. Unfortunately the taste wasn't good either. Really a shame. We had hoped for more. The service wasn't very attentive either, even though it wasn't busy.

Recently I ate at Vessel and I was very pleased with the food, compliments to the chef for the creative execution. Mackerel was served as a starter. Although the mackerel was intended to be served cold, the flavor was exceptional and immediately set a positive tone for the rest of the meal. The main course was ossobuco, which offered deep, balanced flavors and was definitely the highlight of the dining experience. For dessert I chose a deconstructed cheesecake; Although not as impressive, the excellent flavors of the starter and main course more than made up for it. The atmosphere in the restaurant was fantastically inviting and stylish. However, the service left something to be desired. Although the service was friendly, it clearly lacked experience and training. For example, they forgot to offer a bread board and my water glass was not refilled. In addition, the menu was in very poor condition, littered with oily fingerprints. When I asked for salt and pepper, after a while a waitress came by to ask if she could borrow the salt, a rather strange situation, especially considering that the restaurant was out of salt and pepper. In the end, I tipped generously because I'm confident that if the service at Vessel were improved a bit, the overall experience would be almost perfect.

Tasty food, fancy cocktails, beautiful interior, and they have the most luxurious thing in Amsterdam - hot water in the WC!

We met with our homeowners' association at Vessel and then had a drink at the cozy bar. Everything was perfectly taken care of as requested. The room was set up as requested, coffee, tea and water were ready. The bar afterwards was cozy as always. The choice of wines and beers at the bar is top notch at The July. Didn't eat this time but often before. Also recommended!

Had a chocolate hazelnut desert with chamomile tea. Desert was significantly below our expectations. It tasted quite awful and sous on it did smell very bad too. The atmosphere inside was pleasant though.

What an asset to the timber ports. I really like coming here and the space is impressive. Carpaccio sandwich for lunch is highly recommended. And this is also a great tent for parties and celebrations 🏕️

My boyfriend proposed to me at Vessel, and it was amazing. He organized everything in advance with the staff, had a photographer there to do a photoshoot and surprised me during the shoot itself. The staff had then organized flowers and a bottle of bubbly, and we had lunch with a personalized tasting menu (my boyfriend had told the chef of all the foods i liked, and he custom-made the items for us!). And for the dessert, the chef even made my favorite pastry, Paris-Brest, which is not on the menu, and was his second time ever making it! It was delicious, and i still am daydreaming about the food...! Everything was perfect, everyone was so incredibly nice, it was the absolute best day. Thank you for everything, Vessel!!

Had a date night at Vessel on Saturday night with my fiance. We had a great overall experience. The service was good and quick, the waitress was very nice and attentive; the overall design & lighting is very aesthetically pleasing. Nice laid back atmosphere. The food was delicious.

My son (9) loves it there! Now 10, but we find it very strange that we have to pay for tap water. This will cost you points!

Imposing and warm setting, nice location with beautiful view

The service was inadequate for this pretentious catering establishment. After we had served our drinks, the side dish we ordered did not arrive. When we asked, it turned out that they did not know what we had ordered and the employee in question had finished his shift. No gesture of apology or feeling of shame was experienced when making that announcement. Price of the drinks was okay, nothing to complain about.

A relaxed vibe and delicious food – the sea bass and rib-eye are highly recommended!

We went to Vessel for New Year’s Eve and had a stunning experience. The staff were exceptional, friendly and super accommodating. The food was delicious and we will definitely be visiting again!

Had a delicious meal at Vessel on New Year's Eve. Danielle completely pampered us and gave us excellent service. She helped us choose delicious wine and dishes. The crispy chicken bites were very tasty, with a spicy sauce. The T-bone steak was also very popular! We had actually eaten enough, but we still shared 2 delicious desserts. We will definitely come back again!

The food was too salty and way too expensive for what you get. Rib eye steak has large hunks of fat and little meat. Staff speak almost only English.
