Pleasantly surprised! We dined at Vijfnulvijf last night and were pleasantly surprised. We had made a reservation for 8:00 PM and were kindly escorted to our table. We ordered a mix of different dishes and everything was delicious. The sushi, in particular, and especially the Flamed Salmon, was truly delectable! The service was super nice and welcoming. However, sometimes it took a bit longer to be served, and the staff wasn't always as sharp. That doesn't detract from the fact that we had a very nice evening. Delicious food, good atmosphere, and fair prices. Definitely recommended, and as far as we are concerned, we would love to come back here again!

My starter and my friend’s starter came 30minutes apart. The side dish of my friend came 5 minutes before my main, but his main dish never came. When we paid we had to ask for correcting the bill twice. Of course the second time we were getting a bit upset seeing how little serious we were taken by them. Mistakes can happen, but it gives you an especially bad after taste if you feel this is no big deal, “it’s just a missed dish, come on.” Those were the words of the service guy. Never again. Gaslighting customers to even try to make them feel like they are the problem is just such an obvious tactic to deal with your own mistakes. I wonder where those high reviews are coming from..

Super cozy atmosphere, kind staff and amazing food.

My partner and I were looking for an asian kitchen inspired restaurant to head to before Badhuis and found this. We can really recommend this place - it is spacious, has really fun and comfy interior and a really good selection of food from Sushi to Dim Sum to Wok meals. The waiter also recommended us a very tasty soda, the Calpis Japanese Soda. The food was really good, 5/5 overall!

What a nice restaurant and friendly service!

It was closed! We had a reservation with The Fork (we confirmed our appointment 30 minutes in advance), it appeared open on Google Maps, but when we arrived at the restaurant it was closed and they weren’t answering the phone. They wasted our time. 😡

Best place I’ve been in Amsterdan!

The dishes are a bit pricey (€18 for dim sum, not homemade), and the service is a little slow. But the maki and rolls are delicious.

I stopped here after Oost Pride and am so glad I did. The space is beautiful, cozy, and friendly. The food selection is broad and diverse, something for everyone. I had the Shiitake Seaweed Salad which was perfect for the hot day, then I warmed my belly with their Coconut Curry and Jasmine Rice. Absolutely delicious. I've had many curries and this one was a great balance of bright, spicy, and sweet. I also appreciate that this a family-owned restaurant. You can feel the love and care that goes into the whole place. Very appreciative of my time here and gladly recommend!

We live close by to this restaurant, glad that we came to try it! The menu has a lot of options and definitely go for cocktails!!

I made a group reservation for Saturday 14:00 which was confirmed and also reconfirmed on request (showed open on website and google maps), turns out the restaurant was closed when we reached the place. It was a big disappointment for the group.

Restaurant 505 is a lovely place with a modern atmosphere and friendly staff. The dishes are creative and well-seasoned, with clear attention to detail. The service is prompt and professional. Sometimes a bit pricey, but the quality more than makes up for it. Definitely recommended for a night out.

It is not the best Asian food in town ! A lot of sauce everywhere, the Bao were not so tasty ! Sauce everywhere but too much …. The service is perfect though !

Colorful little restaurant in Amsterdam East with delicious bites 😍

I think I got this restaurant through an AI search. The reviews were quite good so I gave it a try. I ordered Peking Duck Pancakes, a Bao Bun with shredded Pork Belly, and a Thai Curry with Chicken. The waiter advised me not to take Gyoza's - enough food already. The Peking Duck arrived together with the Bao Bun. It does take some time to finish the pancakes, so my Bao Bun was on the cold side (one star less <g>). The taste however was quite good! - Next time I'll ask to have it after the starter. The Thai Curry was reasonably good as well, it could have been spicier for my taste. Overall, a good restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere and very friendly service.

Very sticky rice in the sushi that ruined the taste of every type of sushi. It was just a bit disappointing. I’ve had good meals there before, but this time it was substandard.

Food is mostly fried or not fresh made (the steamed stuff). Good for snacks but not for dinner. Sauces are not authentic and taste factory produced. Service is extremely slow and avoids eye contact as if we were silverbacks… except when you ask for the check.

Expensive, small portions, long wait, inflated reviews

Very nice food menu and cozy atmosphere.

Extremely overpriced for the food (account for 2.4 euros per sushi. Even the platter to share is even worse (expecting 4 to 6 sushis per type, we only got 2). Service is simply not present/very slow. They even forgot part of our order. The food itself is good, but not worth the price. I do not recommend at all.

Unfortunately, this was rather disappointing for me. The food tasted okay, but nothing special. The service seemed overwhelmed and disorganized, which was clearly reflected in the very long wait for the food. Overall, I felt the price-performance ratio wasn't right, and I personally can't understand the many positive reviews. There's definitely a lot of room for improvement here.

Great Chinese and Japanese dishes, lovely atmosphere

We ordered the Thai Curry, good amount of spicey, Bejing Duck, well prepared and soft meat and Shanghaj Duck, tasty sauce. Jasmin rice or fried rice (have to order separately) with some kroepoek on the side We enjoyed the food and service was good. Would recommend and come back

Horrible experience. Restaurant opened late also with reservations (the staff was not even there to prepare upfront). The place is not adequately clean (glasses residues and dirt on the floor). I got beer poured on me by unexperienced waiter (sure, it can happen). After 1 hr wait got served only half of the food ordered because the waiter did not understand nor asked for clarifications. When the food finally came portions were mini. Reviews on google are pumped up by the fact that you get free food if you leave a good review. DO NOT go to this place

Food was very good. Also the decorations in the restaurant. But the service is not good at all. Out of 5 people, 2 get the main dishes but the others not. After one hour they get their main dishes. We had no stress, but service should be better. When the service is improved, I would reconmend this restaurant to everyone for sure.

We were with a large group of 10 people tonight, the only large group in the restaurant, and we had a proper reservation for 6:30 PM. It's now 8:30 PM and we still haven't received any food. Only drinks were reserved, but nothing else. The staff seems to have completely forgotten about us and haven't offered a single apology or update. If you're planning to dine with a large group, I would definitely not recommend this location. Poor service, long wait times, and no regard for customers.

Please please please do not go here. The reviews are a lie, as they are artificially inflated due to the offer of free spring rolls in exchange for a 5 star review. Don't sell your soul for their spring rolls. At least do it for good food if you must. I went to this place last year for my birthday and it still bothers me every time I walk past how bad the food was. They burned the panko ebi, for all the dishes, when asked how the food was I mentioned the shrimps being burned but was told they weren't and that I was mistaken??? They were brown (some bits black), not golden. Then she waited expectantly, I guess for a tip, because she did not enter the total into the machine and stared at me for an uncomfortably long amount of time. I felt uncomfortable by the whole interaction at the register. My family stepped in to save me because of how miserable I probably looked. This isn't a japanese restaurant but a fusion, the fish was not fresh and the sushi rice was old. The fried food was over fried and I know Amsterdam isn't cheap but for what you get the prices are criminal. In all my life I have never left a restaurant after only a starter. This was a first. TLDR: the reviews lie, 5 star reviews are from free spring rolls. The food was really bad (burned). Save your money.

The food is nice, they've got a big menu with lots of choices and great vegetarian options too. However, one of the staff members had a crying child behind the desk for most of the dinner, which was annoying and service was slow even though the restaurant wasn't even half full.

Honestly, i was soo much looking forward to a good Sushi. But when it is delivered it is sooo disappointing. From dumplings to drinks to Sushi, really substandard. The Asian waiter is very professional, unfortunately he is not mirrored by his colleague. The place is empty for a reason.

We had a fantastic meal; everything was delicious and fresh. We also received fantastic service. I was with my father, who is in a wheelchair, and they reserved a lovely table for us with plenty of room for the wheelchair. They were incredibly helpful, even when we wanted to sit outside because the sun was breaking through! A fantastic experience; we will definitely be back!
