We held a farewell ceremony in the greenhouse at Villa Ockenburgh before a cremation. What a beautiful place in a peaceful, natural setting. You can also take your time and not be rushed by guests from the next cremation. One downside: two piano pieces were played during the farewell...and if that has to be done on an out-of-tune piano...couldn't a piano tuner come by sometime? If you're going to offer such a farewell ceremony, everything needed must be in order.

We came here for lunch with our four-year-old daughter. They were full, but there was still a table available for us. After sitting at the table for 15 minutes, we were able to order drinks. We ordered coffee and water; 20 minutes later, we received coffee, but no water. We weren't given a lunch menu, and we were completely ignored. We tried several times to get attention, but to no avail. We left without eating. Customers at other tables were politely helped with menus and hospitality.

A wonderful place for a drink, lunch, or dinner. Both on the terrace and inside. Very tasty and beautifully presented, well-maintained, attentive staff, and a wonderful atmosphere! Products are seasonal and some are from local producers. A beautiful villa where you can tour some of the rooms, surrounded by a lovely garden. The park/forest is wonderful for walks. It's also great that they offer people with disabilities access to the job market through their "Bijzonder" foundation. We also enjoyed orange biscuits with coffee, a true delicacy.

November 16, 2025: A quick break. We were out for a bike ride. Because it's already Movember, the outdoor patio was closed. Inside, it looks bare and uninviting. The service is excellent. The selection is rather limited. They won't be seeing me back here anytime soon!

Beautiful place. Unfortunately, the service was extremely poor. Too few staff and very uninformed. It took ages to finally get served, and even longer to get anything to drink and eat (almost two hours in total). I think any decent restaurant would compensate with free drinks and an apology, but none of that. Furthermore, it wasn't possible to substitute a poached egg for a hard-boiled one for a pregnant woman. We only learned this after the dish was already on the table. Ultimately, the food wasn't anything special and certainly not worth the long wait. It's a shame, because it's a beautiful place, but it was a deeply frustrating experience and not worth repeating.

We dined with six people. The food was terribly prepared. We all left our appetizers untouched and complained about the quality. Nothing was done about it. The atmosphere in the restaurant was also subpar. The lighting was very uninviting. By 9:15 PM, the restaurant was already empty. And that on a Saturday night! We will never dine here again!!

We had to wait 1 1/2 hours to get our order, two sandwiches and a soup (!). No apologies whatsoever. Also, even if 2 waiters said it was possible, the kitchen refused to switch to a hard boiled egg for a pregnant woman.

Simply cozy. Enjoying the outdoors in beautiful surroundings. Plenty of space to walk, play, meditate, etc.

The Kas at Ockenburg villa is a great place for young children. Inside, there's a small kitchen and a toy box, and outside, there's a trampoline and a sandbox. It's great that they offer work-related daytime activities. They also serve delicious pastries. Perfect for a cup of coffee with friends and young children.

Beautiful place in a nice location, with great coffee and cakes. The service was also very friendly and professional at the same time.

Very nice ambiance and delicious food. Portions aren't huge, but they're well-prepared. Service was fast and attentive. It's a fair distance from the parking lot, though. So if you're not very mobile, be aware of this and arrange to be dropped off.

Nice place for a snack or drink during a walk

Hidden gem! Lovely, large, sunny terrace with a spacious, beautiful greenhouse for inclement weather. Perfect for couples or families. Views of their beautiful vegetable garden and Villa Ockenburgh itself. The menu is small but enjoyable. The service is open and friendly. A place to return to often. And I'm very curious to see the results of the renovation of the Villa and its surroundings. It would also be a great spot for live music, I think!

Let me start by saying it was very busy and the location is beautiful. And it was. We made a reservation, and after being directed, we were left to our own devices. We finally got a table, and then the wait began. It happens, it was busy. We finally placed our order. The drinks arrived, and even then, they were completely wrong. Three wrong drinks. Not a disaster, but we were also still waiting for fresh orange juice. We finally asked. Oh, it was gone. Then came the food. The sourdough bread turned out to be two slices of whole wheat from a supermarket. Unfortunately, the sourdough bread was also gone. It happens, but the kitchen has to report that. The brisket burger was also a piece of meat thrown on a bun. We were eventually compensated, but that was also the reason we couldn't say anything more. 120 euros for a very mediocre lunch. No more Villa Ockenburg for a while.

We celebrated my mother's birthday at the restaurant at Villa Ockenburg. It was a very successful evening with fantastic service. We wanted for nothing. They were very helpful and took every need into account. The food was also delicious and beautifully presented. The location is beautiful, both indoors and outdoors. All in all, we had a wonderful evening.

The De Kas location at Ockenburgh is very nice and the atmosphere is pleasant. The drinks were good, but something went wrong with the bill: I overpaid and only received the correct amount after insisting. That can happen, of course, but what I found disappointing was that no apology was offered and the way the customer service was handled seemed irritated. Hopefully, this will be handled more professionally in the future, because the place itself is worth a visit.

We had a family day in the afternoon and it was very nice and delicious with you. We enjoyed it.

We had such a wonderful time at De Kas Ockenburg, The Hague, with our large group! My partner's surprise party was a 100% success; we couldn't have chosen a more beautiful location. The weather was fantastic, too, so we felt like we were in Southern Europe, with, among other things, a fantastic band and the beautiful herb garden, lovingly maintained by countless volunteers. We also booked an excursion, a tour of the adjacent De Villa. Because our group was so large, it was split into two, and two lovely ladies from the foundation were able to tell us the history of the building. We opted for a Walking Dinner, which everyone enjoyed. We chose all vegetarian options, and the service was truly excellent. You could see and taste that everything was made and served with so much love. In short, highly recommended, and the birthday boy or girl couldn't have imagined a more beautiful and perfect day, so thank you so much!

We had lunch in the garden shed next to the vegetable garden. The food was fine, but it took a really long time. We were sitting next to the kitchen and saw the person making the fries and appetizers eating half of their food out of their nose. Meanwhile, quite a few people complained about the food. Burnt fries, missing sauce, etc. We waited 25 minutes for a portion of fries. This is absolutely unacceptable. The restaurant was half empty. The kitchen employee looked angry and grumpy when anyone offered criticism. He remained polite, but you could tell the criticism wasn't welcome. We saw him more focused on the music than the food and acting very ignorantly towards customers when they had questions. We asked if there was satay sauce, which isn't a strange question, and were treated as if we were asking about something alien. We won't be back until the service improves.

Delicious food, nice atmosphere

To start on a positive note: the seating is beautiful. However, the food was disappointing. I had the salad with crispy pork belly for €16.95. As a lover of crispy pork belly, I'm afraid to say: I've never had such a bad one. It was hard, chewy, and tasteless. At first, I couldn't detect the nashi pear at all until I realized that the tiny white bits had to be pear (nashi???). There was no flavor, it was so small and sparse. There were pecans and 3 or 4 cherry tomato halves, and the rest was lettuce leaves, not all very fresh. The dressing came with it, which is nice, but it wasn't enough to make anything of the rather dull lettuce. It came with bread—great! However, it had nothing to do with the sourdough bread that was listed with the other dishes (nor with the dishes my table companions ate with it). So, the price and quality were completely out of proportion. It's nice for a cup of coffee on the terrace, but I won't be back for the food.

It's still a fantastic location, nestled among the trees. They've worked hard to create something beautiful. The service is superb, and the food is of good quality. Unfortunately, the prices are steep; our first glass of wine was just a small glass, and that cost almost €7. Apparently, it's part of the times we live in. Parking is free, and so is the walk through the park, which makes up for a lot.

Chic from a distance, yet oh so informal. Perhaps not the cheapest prices, but that's not possible if you want to keep something like this afloat, but definitely eye-catching quality!

De locatie blijft geweldig, het terras was bij het warme weer zalig , de bediening is sterk verbeterd door het draadloze bestelsysteem en de oplettende vriendelijke jongedame die het bedient, maar ... de keuken was duidelijk overbelast en maakte er een beschamend potje van. Onze drankjes en de borrelplanken liepen nog prima. Daarna liep het terras boordevol met nieuwe bezoekers en kregen we keurig de waarschuwing dat de keuken een achterstand opliep dood grote drukte waardoor de bestellingen van voedsel 10 minuten langer zouden duren dan normaal. Kan gebeuren. Toen kwamen onze bestellingen : een salade smaakte naar niks doordat essentieele ingredienten waren vergeten die er na een klacht alsnog werden bijgeleverd. zonder excuus. Twee aangeklede hamburgers van hetzelfde type werden geleverd , maar bij een daarvan was het vlees niet gemalen en bestond uit een ongare opgerolde vetlel. Het was echt niet te eten. De andere hamburger was ok. Na een klacht werd de vetlel meegenomen naar de keuken... en we hebben hem of een vervanger of excuus nooit meer teruggezien. Dat zien ze ons ook niet meer. Ik vind het een sympathiek bedrijf maar hun keuken is echt slecht, evenals hun klachtenaanpak. Jammer.

Even a reservation doesn't go well! In a good mood, fresh and fruity on the bike for our High Tea. Exactly 3 minutes before 2 o'clock we take a seat on the terrace. The staff member of the service comes to take our order. We show the gift voucher and say: "We made a reservation for today yesterday. A colleague will join us in a moment, please wait a moment. Staff member number 2 comes and says "High Tea is not possible today, you have to make a reservation for that". We: "Reserved yesterday for today 2 o'clock, I asked you, don't you have to write down my name? No, you can just come". I call my colleague for a moment. Staff member number 3, "No, High Tea is not possible today. To which we say: then pay the amount. We go to the cash register where a call is made to staff member number 4 who comes down from upstairs and says the following: A reservation is required for a High Tea because it is purchased separately. We tell our story about the reservation to which the answer is that it has to be reserved via the sales department, yes and? We make a reservation and the staff does not know what to do, it is not our problem. In short, we were offered a free drink to which we said: "we only need a spit bag!" Waited outside, the amount was refunded and there was a bag of cookies with it. Money taken with the message that the cookies were not accepted. Also asked what we could say to the generous giver of the gift voucher? The answer was: "yes sorry I don't know either but I suspect that it is sabotage by my colleague who has just resigned". 🙈. That is quite a bold statement, yes then we could get a free lunch, so thank you for that too! At 25 minutes past two cycling back home we decided to go for dinner with our gift voucher, no not at this Estate, never been there and we will never go there again. We can't say anything about the food, we don't want to judge the service staff, but if a reservation seems to be sabotaged, what must it be like in terms of atmosphere, let alone when you work in it! Not to mention what you get when the chef starts sabotaging.? What a disappointment!

Zelfs een reservering gaat al niet goed! Goed gestemd, fris en fruitig op de fiets voor onze High Thea. Precies 3 minuten voor 2 uur nemen we plaats op het terras. Het personeelslid van de bediening komt onze bestelling opnemen. Wij laten de cadeaubon zien en zeggen:" we hebben gisteren voor vandaag gereserveerd. Er komt zo een collega bij, moment alstublieft. Personeelslid nummer 2 komt en zegt " High Thea kan vandaag niet daarvoor moet u reserveren". Wij:" gisteren gereserveerd voor vandaag 2 uur, heb nog gevraagd moet je mijn naam niet noteren? Neen hoor komt u maar gewoon". Moment roep ik mijn collega. Personeelslid nummer 3, "neen High Thea is niet mogelijk vandaag. Waarop wij zeggen: betaalt u dan het bedrag maar uit. Mee naar de kassa waar wordt gebeld naar personeelslid nummer 4 die van boven naar beneden komt en het volgende zegt: Voor een High Thea moet gereserveerd worden omdat er apart voor wordt ingekocht. Wij weer ons verhaal van de reservering waarop geantwoord wordt dat het via de afdeling sales moet worden gereserveerd, ja en? Wij reserveren en het personeel weet niet te handelen, is niet ons probleem. Kortom we kregen een gratis drankje aangeboden waarop we hebben gezegd:" we hoeven alleen een spuugzak!" Buiten gewacht, bedrag werd terugbetaald en er zat een zakje koekjes bij. Geld aangepakt met de mededeling dat de koekjes niet geaccepteerd werden. Tevens gevraagd wat of we nu konden zeggen tegen de gulle gever van de cadeaubon? Het antwoord was:" ja sorry weet ik ook niet maar ik vermoed dat het sabotage is van mijn collega die net ontslag genomen heeft". 🙈. Zo dat is nogal een boute uitspraak, ja toen konden we een gratis lunch krijgen, dus ook voor bedankt! Om 25 minuten over twee terug fietsend naar huis besloten we ons zo gegunde cadeaubon toch op te gaan souperen, neen niet bij dit Landgoed, nooit geweest en daar gaan we ook nooit meer heen. Over het eten kunnen we niets zeggen over het bedienend personeel willen we niet oordelen maar als een reservering al gesaboteerd lijkt te worden hoe moet het dan zijn qua sfeer laat staan als je erin werkt! Om maar niet te bedenken wat je krijgt als de kok gaat saboteren.? Wat een tegenvaller!

Hi team Ockenburgh, I had lunch in the villa, which was pleasant and tasteful in a stylish and enjoyable setting. Your question is probably why 4 stars instead of 5. Hmmm, I probably compared your food and service, unknowingly, with other superb restaurants I have visited. Rest assured, I enjoyed my visit to your restaurant very much.

Laten we het er maar op houden dat het weer aan een te kort aan horeca personeel ligt (en 2de pinksterdag) maar om zelfs voor een kopje thee te worden weggestuurd dat is toch wel heel bijzonder. Enfin hierbij een oproep voor volgend jaar, jong en lui ga aan de slag!

It's quite a walk from the car park, but the green surroundings and the historic appearance of the villa make it worth the walk in the end.

I have now had the opportunity to photograph several weddings at Villa Ockenburgh, and every time it is a joy to be there. The atmosphere is relaxed, the surroundings are beautifully green, and the villa itself has so much character. What I really like about this location is that you have different places to shape the day – from the ceremony to the drinks and dinner. Everything feels well thought out, but not tightly squeezed into a schedule. That gives room for spontaneity and real moments, which is of course great as a photographer. And then the food… really great. Every bridal couple I spoke to was enthusiastic about the kitchen, and rightly so. The quality and presentation are both very good – and that really contributes to the experience of the day. Villa Ockenburgh is a place where you feel welcome and where everything is right, without it becoming too neat or distant. A warm, atmospheric place to get married in The Hague. I come back there with pleasure every time.

Nice place! Unfortunately the bitterballen were not warm and the beers were not full. The waitress was more focused on tidying up and cleaning than on us.

Been to the greenhouse, been coming here for years, always very nice, but the girl who works there now doesn't feel like it. Grumpy and customer unfriendly.

Mucho potencial que es necesario realizar. El almuerzo de tres platos tomó más de 2 horas debido a la falta de cocina y personal de espera. Solo una camarera parecía saber lo que estaba haciendo y estaba afligida. Otro dejó caer dos veces bandejas de bebidas. Porciones en el lado pequeño y todavía tenía hambre después. Insatisfactorio y caro también.

Schevenings twaalf uurtje was goed; salade prima, garnalenkroket prima en goed warm. Soep helaas te koud; een grote brede bokaal als soepkom, waardoor de soep al gelijk afkoelt op het moment van inschenken. Soep moet heet geserveerd worden. Zo'n grote kom oogt aardig maar werkt averechts.

Uitstekende service,vriendelijke bediening en heerlijk eten op een zonnig terras met uitzicht op het landgoed. Wat wil je nog meer👍

Voor mij geen Villa meer! Vanaf het moment van binnenkomst tot het moment van weggaan heb ik op de tocht gezeten, waardoor tot op het bot koud. De deur naar het terras stond open en dat blijkt de enige manier te zijn om het terras te bedienen. Daarnaast duurde het minstens 3 kwartier om kroketjes met brood geserveerd te krijgen! Dit duurde zo lang, "omdat het zo druk was!" Een jaar geleden ben ik hier meerdere malen geweest en heb dezelfde soort problematiek meegemaakt. Mijn kritiek heb ik aan het management kenbaar gemaakt. Uiteraard word je bedankt voor de feedback. Fouten maken mag en moet, vind ik, want daar leer je van! Echter bij de Villa blijken ze, mijns inziens, hardleers!

Wij hebben een heerlijke lunch gehad. Wij hadden voor een brioche broodje met avocado en zalm met een gepocheerd ei gekozen. Was echt smullen!! Mooie locatie, gezellige sfeer. Alleen moesten we wel erg lang wachten voordat we geholpen werden. Maar dat mocht de pret niet drukken.

Very nice meal at Villa Ockenburgh. The location is very beautifully situated in the Ockenburgh park. The somewhat small menu contains beautiful dishes with regional products and/or "from our own garden". Dishes that you don't easily come across. Beautifully laid out, real attention has been paid to this. Staff is friendly and they serve neatly, as they do in fancy restaurants. The atmosphere is good and it is as if you are sitting in the living room of the "rich people". Parking is required on the P halfway along the beautiful avenue. Short walk. You can park at the restaurant with a disabled card. Definitely do it once, eat here!!!!

Expensive for what you get. Villa has been nicely renovated.

Will never eat here again, spent 385 euros during my sister-in-law's birthday party. Staff grumpy, extra fries arrived half an hour later after everyone had finished eating. No atmosphere at all, we arrived at 7 p.m., after our first drink we heard that the kitchen closed at 8:30 p.m. So after eating and being forced out of the restaurant, we stood outside in the driveway, disappointed.

Simply great! We received a very friendly welcome and our dog was given treats straight away. Very nice, harmoniously furnished location. The service and kitchen team took care of gluten-free alternatives for me. We had the 3-course menu and it was really delicious and varied for the palate!

You can relax here with the dogs after they have had a run in the dog field further away. Great food and a nice cup of coffee, ginger tea or cup of soup...

Met 8 personen geluncht, wat een teleurstelling! Drankjes na de maaltijd, porties veel te klein, te duur en ook nog eens niet lekker. Met honger het restaurant verlaten. Wat zonde dat de keuken zo slecht is op zo’n prachtige locatie. Wij gaan er nooit meer heen!

Met een grote groep gegeten. Geweldige locatie met jonge en enthousiaste medewerkers. Geen moeite was ze teveel. Voor wat betreft de gerechten: serveer er voortaan lekker frietjes bij, het was nu te weinig. Je kan wel friet bestellen maar gezien de gehanteerde prijzen hoort dit er gewoon bij!

Beautiful location in the Ockenburgh park, very nice conservatory with a view of the park. Two shrimp croquettes for €14.50 and then having to put nasty pink shrimp in them instead of Dutch shrimp is again a certain catering arrogance. Served without any sauce, nor any butter with the bread. When my wife asks for two toasted brown sandwiches with the duck breast salad, two white sandwiches come first and then two unroasted brown sandwiches. Disinterested service that doesn't even ask if you enjoyed it or something.

I wouldn't go to the greenhouse restaurant. The panini could not be called lunch, so small and 7 euros each. I won't go back here again.

We celebrated Hans' 80th birthday 🥳 It was cozy and delicious. The waitress was very nice and knew everything about the dishes and wines.

This beautiful villa is located in beautiful Ockenburch. Renovated by private individuals, it looks very nice. The service is smooth and friendly. The food looks great and tastes delicious too. Unfortunately, it is quite expensive.

Today we settled down at Villa Ockenburgh on an unexpectedly beautiful summer day. The welcome was less sunny. Service very nice, but "manager" very unfriendly. In fact, I have never encountered this rude behavior before.

Het voorgerecht ,'n tartaar van tonijn, zonder zout of peper, daar dus om gevraagd, 't hoofdgerecht 't visrecht, 2 kleine stukjes vis met 'n omlijsting, ook al geen succes. 't dessert wat opgemaakte koekjes, net mooi voor bij 'n kopje koffie. de prijs echt niet waard. Nee dat doen we niet nog een keer. Jammer, bij mooi weer zit je er zo heerlijk op het terras met zicht op het park.

A beautiful place where the attentive and friendly service brought us a beautiful lunch. The chef's three-course lunch menu was particularly delicious. It was also no problem to exchange courses from the vegetarian variant with those from the meat/fish variant. The portions were perfectly tailored to a healthy appetite without exaggerating. Nice size, beautiful presentation and good quality. Fortunately we had made a reservation because that certainly seems advisable given the justified crowds. A hustle and bustle that is not annoying because the terrace layout is pleasantly spacious. Five stars without reservation!
