Je hebt veel indonesche restaurants in Nederland. Maar deze is authentiek Sumatraans. Er zitten vrijwel alleen Indonesiers binnen. Het eten is voortreffelijk. Zo smaakvol, dat vind je nergens in Nederland. Niet delen deze review! Anders wordt het nog drukker dan nu.

One of the best nasi Padang I've ever eaten in my life (I'm Indonesian) during my 6 month stay in the Netherlands, every month I always come to eat. The meat (Rendang and dendeng) was so tender, literally everything was cooked to perfection. If this was someone, I would have blownblewbleww😋. The mixed ice and durian stoned ice are also not as deep pssss... The staffs are also very warm and nice, making this a very pleasant experience. I suggest you to reserve a spot before you come because it can get pretty busy especially on the weekends. Thank you Lapek, you will be missed💋😢

Among the original Indonesian restaurants, this jewell deserves a recommendation. The food tastes authentic, I can tell being raised with Indo parents, the atmosphere as in a restaurant in Indonesia. Prices are reasonable, and the Indonesian desserts are all scrumptious. This place is high on my recommendation list.

Food is authentic but some food just ok

Delicious food. A bit of a diner feeling. Clear menu and nice people. I would just indicate with the dishes what is spicy and what is not. I didn't expect it to be spicy, but I like it so it was great for me. Selamat Makan!

I don't think it's worth the price for a plate of nasi padang komplit with 21e. But it's good thing to try and it is also the most popular and authentic Sumatran food here

Samen met familie voortreffelijk gegeten in dit Padang restaurant. Hemelse authentieke pittige Sumatraanse gerechten, zo karakteristiek voor de padangkeuken. Geen aanpassingen aan de westerse smaak. Met een gedurfde en zeer gevarieerde kaart was ons diner een ware smaakbeleving en deed ons terugdenken aan onze vele reizen naar Indonesië en aan Sumatra in het bijzonder. Een echte aanrader, we gaan er zeker terug!

The reception by the woman with glasses was cold. I found two hairs on my plate... There was not enough rice or meat. Very expensive for what it is, almost €20 for a classic dish.

Best Indonesian food in the Netherlands!

I liked the food here. It looked quite authentic. And the staff was nice too.

We kwamen hier bij toeval terecht. Het begon veelbelovend. Ondanks de drukte toch een plekje gekregen. Wij hadden de gadogado en de nasi ramen Lapek. De gadogado viel erg tegen. Weinig variatie in groenten, ik vond hem matig smaken. De nasi takes was zo pittig (dat is de Padang keuken ook dat weten wij wel) maar dit was overheersend waardoor je de afzonderlijke gerechten op je bord niet goed meer kon proeven. Het was een beetje één smaak, niet onderscheidend. Jammer. Wij komen hier niet meer eten. Bovendien was het er zo lawaaierig, dat eet ook niet echt relaxed . Er zijn zoveel betere Indonesische eethuisjes en restaurants in Den Haag waar we liever terugkomen een volgende keer.

Dit was het tweede bezoek. Heerlijke cendol. Het eten is heel smakelijk, wel aan de pittige kant. De Padang keuken is wat meer pittig, maar niet storend. Het eten komt aardig in de buurt zoals het in Indonesië zelf smaakt. Mijn complimenten om dit toch voor elkaar te krijgen zonder de echte verse ingrediënten. Verder is de bediening is heel vriendelijk.

Lamak bana!! This is hands down the best Padang restaurant in all of Europe! I visited this place, tried the grilled fish, and of course went all out with the full set of nasi Padang with extra sate Padang on the side (because why not?). I couldn’t stop eating! The food was so delicious that as an Indonesian, it felt like the ultimate cure for my homesickness. Shoutout to the amazing chef and the lovely lady who served us that day you filled not just our stomachs, but our hearts too. 10/10 would eat here again and probably overeat (no regrets)!

The food is of good quality and authentic, without making concessions to Dutch taste. Some dishes are quite spicy, and the flavors are less sweet than those of (Dutch) Indian cuisine. We opted for the vegetarian version of Nasi Padang Hidang, including gado-gado, lodeh, potato cakes, eggplant, tempeh/tahu and cassava leaf. The price is reasonable, although the portions are on the small side. The service is adequate: not unfriendly, but not particularly cordial either - rather a bit distant. The chilly fluorescent light ensures that the food is clearly visible and you don't linger too long, which leaves room for other plans in the evening. Maybe we'll come back again, because I'm curious about the bakso and sateh.

Service was prima. Fijne bediening en uitleg in Nederlands en Bahasa Indonesia. Voor het eerst heb ik verse cassaveblad gegeten in Nederland. Een heel lekker bijgerecht (als je er van houdt). Het eten is aan de pittige kant, wat is te verwachten. Dus als je enkel mild wil eten, vraag dan om advies. Locatie is centraal. De akoestiek is oké, wat is te verwachten bij een grote ruimte. Alles wat je niet opeet kan je meenemen naar huis, zodat je nog kan nagenieten :). Hier kom ik zeker terug!

The server who attended our table was absolutely friendly, spoke English, Dutch and Indonesia very well. I came back again after visiting this place two years ago. Taste wise, it’s been pretty consistent.

Went on a Busy Thursday for some vegetarian food, not recommend at all for all vegetarians out there. They serve fish curry/oil as vegetarian curry plus the owner/chef disrespected us when we told them that the curry smells and tastes like something fishy. 0/10 for hospitality

Pedí Soto Padang Komplit y se han olvidado de empacar el arroz, pastel de patata, kerupuk y sambal en mi orden de comida para llevar. Y tristemente esto ya ha pasado antes. Así que esta fue la segunda vez que estropearon mi pedido. Una vez es un error, pero dos veces muestra una falta de cuidado. La comida es buena, pero este tipo de inconsistencia es frustrante.

Super delicious and fast service

Went there with a reservation on a Thursday. Good atmosphere and lively restaurant. But the food for vegetarians is really bas. Ordered the highest rated and costliest dish for 2 named NASI PADANG HIDANG AND it was disgusting to say the least. We were served with 7-8 different dishes out of which only 1-2 tasted decent. The rest dish 3 of Tofu were undercooked, the seaweed was smelly af and the curry which was supposed to be vegetarian had fish oil or a lot of fish smell and taste. My girlfriend who is completely vegetarian was disappointed and almost vommited. I completely most of dishes as I paid €60 for a meal which was just unsatisfying. Worst at the end after paying bill, when we informed regarding the fish smell/ taste in the vegeterain curry the owner/ manager and the cook outright rejected and refused it. That was just unprofessional and made me more angry

Gran restaurante indonesio que sirve principalmente cocina Padang (Sumatra Occidental) y también ofrece varios otros alimentos / aperitivos indonesios como Pempek (Palembang, Sumatra Meridional) , Baso / Bakso, Nasi Goreng, etc. Bonito lugar, personal muy amable. Restaurante si siempre lleno de gente, y el personal es muy servicial para conseguir que se siente una vez que su asiento está libre. El sabor es realmente el mismo con comida similar en Indonesia. Grandes experiencias que se pueden obtener en La Haya. Visita obligada en La Haya.

The waitress was already at the table to take the order, even though the menu wasn't even properly distributed yet. I found her to be quite rude and sometimes arrogant because she twisted her mouth when you asked something. She didn't help with the selection even though some of the guests at the table were eating Indonesian for the first time. Some of the food was delicious, but some of it was bland.

So far, This is a Authentic padang indonesian food. From the restaurant vibes already showing how friendly & warm it is indonesian service. the location is strategy and easy to found out once you walking out from the tram / metro. reservation call is highly recomended so you can get seat.

I was recently asked for recommendations for Indonesian restaurants in Amsterdam and I sent some links to my favorites and then noticed in many comments that if you want a really authentic experience, you need to head to Padang Lapek in The Hague - and I’m glad I did! This authentic restaurant serves really delicious, fresh food with a smile. The Nasi Padang Komplit is a must try, the veggie version is also very good, and the Ikan Bakar (grilled dorade) was really delicious! Well worth a visit!

Excellent food, very tasty and a wide choice. Unique, traditional dishes, one even tastier than the other. Some very spicy, but a pleasant heat that does not linger unnecessarily for long.

I was born and raised in West Sumatera province (born in Simpang Empat and stayed there until 7 years old) and left West Sumatera at 18 years old, so West Sumatera food is THE BEST for me.

Via een tip gingen wij op zaterdag 5 oktober 2024 in dit Indisch eethuis ons avondeten nuttigen. (pas op het op-af stapje bij binnenkomst) De menukaart zag er 'uitdagend uit' voor een in NL geboren 'Indo'. Ruime keuze: gewoon, mild heet (pedis), heet en erg heet. Tip: drink dan water ( zonder bubbels). erbij. Het restaurant zat bijna helemaal vol ( 16.00uur) De inrichting is basic, schone tafels, stoelen, vloer en het personeel is vriendelijk, gastvrij en degene die onze keuze noteerde moest hard lachen omdat een 'Belanda'/ mijn partner) de nasi goreng pedis koos voor bij haar Gado Gado. Ik koos de witte rijst. Het smaakte ons goed: eten was warm en zeer smakelijk. Mocht je meer en grote kroepoek willen dan adviseer ik deze bij hen te kopen (liggen in de rekken met verkoop producten). Dit restaurant ligt op kleine afstand van de Markt, Metro en bekende warenhuizen. Het is ongeveer 1.5km wandelen naar Den Haag CS. Aanrader?: ja maar nog aangenamer (als je liefhebber bent) in combinatie (vooraf het avond eten) met een bezoek aan Het Kunstmuseum ( Tram 17) en het Mauritshuis (Meisje met de Parel o.a.) Beide musea zijn gratis te bezoeken met de Museum Jaarkaart.

Each dish bursts with vibrant flavors, just like I remember from Indonesia, and the consistency in quality keeps me coming back every time. For those unfamiliar with Indonesian cuisine, be aware that some dishes are on the spicier side—but that’s how they’re meant to be enjoyed. As for the price, while I’m always happy to spend less as a customer, it’s important to understand that Indonesian cooking involves a significant amount of seasoning, preparation, and time. Considering the effort involved, I believe the pricing is fair. If it were cheaper, great—but the quality justifies the cost. My recommendation will be the spicy dishes of Nasi padang and the Fried duck with Green chilli! I went there yesterday, and I'm craving it now already! Highly recommended!

I wanted to eat good satay and my partner took me to an authentic restaurant in The Hague. Upon entering, the restaurant exudes Indonesia, which is great. We ordered various satay dishes and gado gado. It was a party. Meat well seasoned, delicious sauce and good crispy vegetables (as gado gado should be). The delicious nasi goreng (spicy) completed the party. Price quality excellent. About €40 per person with two drinks per person. Ladies and gentlemen, if you want to go to an authentic Indonesian restaurant, come to The Hague and you will start eating with a big smile.

Incredibly original tasty food for a very fair price. Delicious house lemonade provides just that refreshment to the spicy parts of the dish!

After we were seated we had to wait a long time for the waiter. Our neighbor also saw that it was taking a very long time and he beckoned the waiter for us, after which we were helped by a nice lady. We were very disappointed with the food, we found it lacking in taste. The nasi goreng peteh (fried rice with peteh beans) was not fried at all but boiled rice with a slightly red color (sambal?) and had a bad taste. The trick to delicious nasi goreng lies in the frying effect of the wok and the taste of some trassi, etc. The gado gado sauce was bland and characterless, but the portion was okay. The special sauce (bound with cornstarch?) with the satay padang also had little taste except a lot of sambal. We found this experience a shame because our experience when the restaurant opened was really good on all fronts. Apparently, due to the crowds, control over the kitchen is lost and proper management of the (catering) kitchen is minimal.

10 years old, I've never eaten cassava leaves and tasted Nasi Padang which is really delicious🤤 iced high and mixed ice too, it's not in vain to fly there.

For Padang food go nowhere else in NL because food is authentic, people are sweet as if being in Indonesia and the whole experience at this warung feels as a mini trip to 🇮🇩. Nasi Padang is pedas as it should be. Ayam goreng: delicious. Bakso and Soto great for lunch. Save some room for Es Cendol: it’s the best! Terema kasih banyak WPL and keep up the good work!

The best Indonesian food that I have ever tasted in Europe. Real taste of Indonesian, just perfect. Friendly staff, they also make fresh drinks unlike other restaurants that only have bottle drinks. I had nasi ayam bakar as in the photo, so delicious. Recommended!

As you often encounter in Asia, a room with tables in a row, everything clean and made of plastic, just short of fluorescent tubes. This means there is no sound dampening whatsoever, so all conversations bounce towards your ears. The food was worth it, full of flavor and deliciously spicy. The price, well, we can argue about that, the fact is that it is certainly on the expensive side. Two dishes 42 euros but ultimately 68 euros with 2 water and coffee.

Please don't ask for not spicy. This is a real Indonesian food I ever met after 5 years in Germany. I hope they won't change the taste. My tip is just order extra rice, 1 or 2 extra rice can be perfect for 2 people, when you order complete naso Padang. Very delicious. Just like expected Padang rice. The tip is to buy complete Padang rice and extra rice. For two, just 1 extra piece of rice is enough, if you don't want it to be too spicy, buy 2 extra pieces of rice. Unfortunately the second time I ordered, there wasn't any beef jerky. Very sorry I didn't check it properly. Even though last night was the last day in the Netherlands.

Wow. This was good. Can’t call myself an expert after just a month of traveling in Indonesia. But this is, I think, the best Indonesian restaurant that I’ve been to in the Netherlands. It is a bit spicy, even for me, but such nice flavors. Definitely coming back for more!
