Delicious food and friendly service

The food quality has really deteriorated; everything is reheated, not fresh, and served cold! Saoto soup tastes like nothing! Bakabanq reheated in the microwave feels like a rubber band! It's a shame, and the grandpa behind the counter could be a bit friendlier.

I eat my saoto soup here almost every month. I don't live in Amsterdam myself, so I eat here every month when I visit my girlfriend. I highly recommend eating here!!! Their soup is delicious, and there are many other dishes too! Generous portions that really fill you up! The place to go and eat Surinamese food! Very delicious and tasty! Absolutely a must!

Especially telo bakkeljauw is delicious!

Had been recommended to try the Rames. I went for mine with fried rice and it was absolutely top draw, easily the best meal Iv ever had in Amsterdam. The taste and texture of the food was excellent, with each item complimenting the meal as a whole. Loved the old dude manning the counter 🙌

Arrived 30 minutes before closing for a proper cooked meal and ended up having the best dining experience in my 25 years of visiting Amsterdam. Huge thanks to food blogger James Dimitri for his Amsterdam guide. This spot has easily made my list as one of the most incredible culinary experiences. The food was unique, unlike any cuisine I’ve tried before, and the service was outstanding. Can’t wait to be back.

Ordered through Thuisbezorgd. The email said the food had been delivered, but nothing had been received. Warung Mini simply decided not to answer the phone even though they were open. Disgraceful.

Unfriendly. We received the wrong dish and were blamed, with no apology or solution. After dinner, we were even ignored during the chat because our table was already being cleaned for the next customer.

We arrived at Warung mini on Monday at 12:05 to pick up a few dishes. We thought the shop opens at 12:00 and it will still be quiet. Many tables were occupied or reserved and the line stretched from the counter to the exit. That is a good sign, but be careful that it does not become a success. If you are eating there, I can imagine that the continuous stream of people past your table is unpleasant.

I hadn't been here for a while but I was always helped well, I thought I'd go back because a clumsy event was waiting for me, I was asked twice what my order was. And it took and took, people who had ordered long after me left the store well before me. A lady who had ordered 5 minutes before me had already finished eating by the time I had not received my order yet! When I asked why it was taking so long, was it a system? Well, the only one who seemed to have problems with that was me. When my order finally arrived, a dawet I had ordered and paid for was forgotten, which I had wanted to drink there but had not received either. And when I asked about the dawet, they wanted to give me the lukewarm one, which I refused. I got a new one, when I asked for a free drink because of waiting almost 35 minutes, I did not get it. That man was cuddly rude, but not the owner. Other Warung Mini's are much nicer and sympathize with the customer, so I will not be going to this one for the time being. So I took a detour. And I was also way too late for my appointment!!

Ordered a Sauto on Saturday and it was as if there was a whole jar of salt in it. Not to eat. Had a portion of masala chicken on the bone and was almost only fillet

Fantastic little place, packed on a cold Monday late evening with delivery drivers coming in and out - a great sign. I didn’t eat all day to make room to try different things and had their apparently famous Saoto soup, beef rendang with nasi goreng on the side, and a roti. Had the portions been less generous I might have had room left to try Bakkeljauw - salted cod with cassava fries - will be next time together with something else from the extensive menu. Very kind staff and quick service too, totally recommended

Small Surinamese eatery. The service can be experienced as surly, but if you act normal, they will be too. I think the service is excellent. The atmosphere is pleasant. It is and remains a small eatery. I think the food is delicious. As far as I have experienced fresh ingredients and well prepared. There are always customers, I'm not the only one who likes to come there or pick up something. We usually go for the vegetarian roti, barra, baka bana and lemper.

Apareció aquí ya que el hotel estaba a 3 puertas y lo que un hallazgo. No son lujos, sino excelente comida y muy barato. El satay de pollo y el pollo con la salchicha y la ternera fueron sobresalientes. Sin duda volveremos. Personal encantador también

I've been getting my food here for 20 years and it's still a favorite!

Neat tent, clean, the roti and noodles were not bad either, but a bit underseasoned.

I regularly order Roti Lamb Curry or Bara Bakkeljauw and Spring Roll Chicken. Everything was very tasty, still nice and warm. The Bara Bakkeljauw is full of fish. Enjoy every time. I would like to keep it that way. I have recommended Warung Mini to family and friends and they are also very satisfied..😋😋😋

Normally a baked cod sandwich with pepper and sour is super tasty, but today (January 7) I bought 2 sandwiches with sooo much salt. I drank almost 2 liters of water at night. 😒😒 Really a shame.

I had dinner there with my girlfriend yesterday. It looks quite clean, but hygiene is hard to find. What struck us is that gloves are used. An old grumpy gentleman did everything with his gloves, so bringing food to the customers, etc. With the same gloves he was also cleaning the toilets... taking dirty paper from the toilet room, etc. Then bringing food to the customers again with his gloves over the food. We have continuously followed that gentleman's actions. Of course we left our food behind. I felt very dirty afterwards. Bah! You don't do that!? I am very hygienic. It was probably just me. Please take this with you.

Twice while I was picking up something, I stood there for a while to see how things are going here. Behind the counter is a grumpy older man who shouts and rages at the customers. The food is tasty, but make sure you get the correct amount back. Ordering is recommended.

Outstanding food! My first time trying Surinamese food, and the perfect place for it. They speak English and Dutch, very fast service, and reasonable prices. Generous portions as well. They do a steady service in takeaway but dine in is good as well. No complaints at all!

Very friendly place, perfect to taste delicious Surinamese food at very affordable prices. The team was very pleasant, I had a great time!

My Surinamese colleague took me to try the Saoto Soup from this shop. He mentioned that this is the best one in town so I gave it a try. I cannot compare to with other places because here is the only place I’ve tried so far. I can only say that I’m satisfied with this dish. The soup broth is really good and it’s even better when you add their chilli sauce in it. I want to make sure that it’s not one time good so I just tried again recently and of course, it’s still very good for me. I finished all the soup in the bowl. The price is also quite cheap. Next time, I will bring my friends to try it here!

For a quick bite that is much better than average, this is the place for you.

First of all, the dark-skinned Hindu man is so rude! Just sits there shouting in the shop and doesn't know how to deal with customers and staff. If you ask him about what kind of vegetable you also get a certain tone. Food is so nasty everything is literally reheated. Nasi was so old and swollen wet rice grains and the satay sauce was old and had a bad taste.

If you can't be customer friendly, you shouldn't work! I can't even start a decent conversation with Mr. It was a wrong order, luckily they are much better and friendlier at Van WO! I would say, learn from your colleagues.

Just discovered this place. It is bloody fantastic! Excellent quality authentic Indonesian menu. The massala chicken curry bara is to die for. A few tables to dine in. And excellent for take out. Highly recommend it!

After being a customer for >20 years, I can say: the love is gone! The quality, atmosphere and service have deteriorated, but prices have increased (too) often. Not for me anymore, too bad!

Scandalous service! Arrived just after 8:00 PM to have some saoto soup and was told it was take-away only. While this is not indicated anywhere and it clearly states that they are open until 9:00 PM. Deeply disappointed in this restaurant, let's go to a restaurant that deserves it! We will never come here again!

Every time I order and pick up they forget something. This time again. And of course they don't answer the phone. Last time it was a dish, this time peanut sauce with the 3 chicken satay. And I did ask for extra peanut sauce (which I paid for of course).

Best authentic surinamese good I've tasted in Amsterdam. The place is a bit small and service could use some improvement, but I will definitely go again for the food.

I'm Malaysian and had never tried Nasi Rames before, but lord this restaurant served Nasi Rames that was so good!! The beef was so tender and tasty, I even did a happy dance there. The price was affordable, considering that Amsterdam is not cheap for dining out. Would definitely come back here again one day to try out other meals! Also they're 100% halal :)

Have a Bara kip curry! It's some kind of fried bun with chicken. Very good!

This is just a wonderful place for honest, freshly made, tasty and delicious food. One of the best I have found. There's a big menu buy my favourite is the bara kip kerrie, masala chicken in a pan fried doughy bun. Amazing. I also love the Saoto chicken soup. Lovely, friendly people, very casual place with a few places to sit to eat. And it's busy most days, which tells you something!

Hospitality is hard to find, unfriendly staff, and the food is very bad after 2 bites straight into the trash, this is unworthy of Surinamese

In my opinion the food is always good. Been coming here for years. I really like the saoto and satay. Portions are large, friendly staff and the choice is huge. It can be very busy in the business, but I'm willing to pay for that. 👌

The older host is very stressed and walks around very sullen and irritated while serving food. If you can't handle the crowds, don't step into the foreground. Ordered a saoto soup of which the broth had no taste, tasteless. The Ayam pedis with nasi was also substandard. Dry brown rice and three small dry chicken pieces. How do people give this place five stars?

Heerlijke pasteitjes verrukkelijk gewoon! Ik werk nog even ernaast en helaas stop ik dan om in Almere te werken maar alleen om de pastei al kom ik zo nu en dan terug hoor :)

Had al gebeld hierover maar het leek me wel handig voor de gasten om dit ook te weten. Gisteravond mijn bestelling thuisbezorgd gekregen, het eten was het probleem niet. De bakjes waar de gele sambal inzitten worden gezet op heet eten waardoor er druk ontstaat in de bakjes, ze gaan helemaal bol staan. Als het eten dan bij de klant aankomt is de spanning in deze bakjes zo hoog, dat het bakje in je gezicht ontploft. Hartstikke gevaarlijk om zo een volle laag hete sambal in je gezicht en ogen te krijgen, wie bedenkt zoiets? Ik heb 30 minuten onder de kraan moeten staan, je kan je voorstellen dat mijn avond goed is verpest hierdoor. Let hier aub op.

We LOVED the food. The experience is a bit chaotic, I recommend grabbing a table then sending someone up to order. And order less than you think you need. We split two items one large and one small and it was plenty for two people. But sooooo good. Any of their meats with rice you can't go wrong.

Je krijgt waar voor je geld. Echter, het is niet een plek om echt uit eten te gaan. Het is namelijk vaak erg druk met afhalers en bezorgers.

Damn good food, huge portions, very fair price. Service at your table is great, just be prepared to fight the old man at the counter - it’s part of the charm of this place. Gets very busy as everyone gets off of work. Order before 5:35pm or you’ll be waiting a while.

Goed eten! Vergelijkbaar met de Hapjeshoek wat mij betreft, qua prijskwaliteitsverhouding. Aardige mensen. Soms een beetje druk en niet altijd plek.
