Warung Tegal in Stadionbuurt

This was my first experience trying Indonesian food and it did not disappoint! Everything was super tasty, I could tell it was made with love. The staff were very friendly as well. 💯Recommend!

I recently tried this restaurant. The quantity of food is super good, and the quality also. You could taste the freshness of ingredients and everything tasted spicy and balance all together. Would very much recommend it.

Sloppily presented, but still quite delicious 😋 It's definitely filling and pleasantly spicy, the service is very friendly, and the price/quality ratio is not exorbitant. Highly recommended 😁

Nothing special, the meat was a bit tough, and the noodles weren't mixed with trafasie/ketjap. It seems like every Asian store has pretty much the same flavors. Too expensive for what you get.

I don't understand the negative reviews. I've been coming to Warung Tegal regularly for a year now. On average, about once every two weeks, sometimes more. So I can definitely say something about it. The food is always delicious, and the portions are quite generous for the price. The owners are friendly. If you strike up a conversation, they'll tell you and ask you a few questions, which is a natural interaction. I love coming here and can relax at one of the two tables. I'm very satisfied with this warung.

Been there many times. Reasonable food, not always fresh. Closes just before closing time, so last time I was in front of the door for nothing.

Amazing Indonesian restaurant. It was our first time at one of these Indonesian takeaways and we didn't really know how/what to order. The woman working there was so patient with us, thoroughly explaining the options and giving recommendations. We were so happy with our choices because everything was absolutely delicious! The quality and quantity was incredible in comparison to the price. I'm still dreaming about the food here and will be back one day!

There were 7 of us after the marathon. Really delicious food on site! Friendly people behind the counter. We will go here more often from now on.

Nice food but the atmosphere is plagued by the rude owner who doesn't even bother to greet his customers. He's just staring at his smartphone.

Very big disappointment and waste of money. As an Indonesian with a culinary family, I had high expectations. I'm in shock! The food had no taste, beans did not taste like beans, rendang was tough, chicken semoor was inedible. Nasi kuning is rice with yellow color without flavor. I don't understand the positive reviews at all!! I don't like throwing food away, but this was impossible and went straight into the trash where it belongs. To the people who work here: please don't call this an Indonesian warung because it is really shocking!

This is an indonesian take out place. They offer pre-made food which is not bad actually. They have upgraded and now they accept credit cards. The portions are quite big. Not too expensive as well.

Warung Tegal is the restaurant with perhaps the best price/quality ration in all of Amsterdam. You can tell the food is made with love and that the owners are truly passionate about what they do. If you are not familiar with Indonesia food they will take the time to make suggestions as you put together your plate. I highly recommend you dine here if you are in the Amsterdam Zuid area

Great food and very friendly staff

Best Indonesian food in the neighbourhood and we’ve now tried them all! Great flavours, friendly service and we didn’t have to wait at all. Will come back many times. I don’t recognise the other reviews that say the servings were small. At least for me today, that was certainly not the case. Full trays!

Was ok, now suddenly very small portions, 1 scoop of rice, unfriendly people don't listen to what you want, which is a pity

A small adjustment to the review below. The food remains top-notch, but of course prices have risen regularly. Logically. But they have also made the portions smaller. You will certainly notice that at the rice table. Such a pity. This was the old review and is therefore partly outdated. This is truly our favorite store. Delicious Indian food. With lots of choice, generous portions and a great staff who always friendly takes your order. Everything is equally tasty and available in different types of 'hot'. That makes food everyone's friend. Highly recommended!

Affordable and tasty. Portion is really worth for the price

Lovely place, very nice system of picking your base, vegetables, and meat or meat replacement +egg and optional peanut sauce. Great to eat vegan (or non-vegan) for great portions for a great price. Ideal for takeout, also fine to dine-in but nothing fancy.

Van buiten ziet het er niet bijzonder uit, maar wat uit de keuken komt is echt geweldig. Daarnaast zijn de porties flink. Hun verse sambal badjak is ook erg lekker.

Super tevreden! Vriendelijk geholpen, goed gekruid, goede prijs-kwaliteitverhouding en smaakvol eten. Kreeg ook instructies voor het opwarmen mee, overal werd aan gedacht. Pittige versies van het eten mogen naar mijn smaak iets pittiger, maar ik snap dat de gerechten wellicht iets aangepast zijn naar Nederlandse standaarden ;)

Echt te gek stoofvlees van rund en kip, in iets van 6 variaties per soort. Ik nam scherpe kip en rund, echt lekker gekruid en met als mooie toegift het fijne aroma van madamme janet zonder extreem scherp te zijn. Groentes en verschillende rijsten zijn ook dik in orde. Dit is een absolute aanrader. Pareltje.

Unfortunately our experience doesn’t match the other reviews. Service was very friendly, we felt welcome, and the food sure looks tasty. When we got home the food was nicely hot through, but sadly the meat was very dry and very salty. We couldn’t finish our meal.

Klein Indonesisch afhaalrestaurant. Wij gingen voor een Kleine vegetarische Rames voor €9,00. Kregen een flink gevulde bak met gele rijst en 4 goed smakende ingrediënten + een ei. Aanrader: koop een bakje pittige (niet te) Sambal erbij (€1,50). Deze is echt heel lekker. Personeel is vriendelijk. Wij gaan hier zeker weer eten halen.

Best place for home made Indonesian food

Price and portion is value for money.

One of the best authentic Indonesian kitchens I've seen and tasted. Staff is authentic as well. Meal prices are extremely reasonable for the amount of food you get. They don't serve pork, so take that into account.

Although the food is very affordable, it was delicious! I will definitely come back here!

Indonesian food is my favorite and this place just makes great food, prefer it over all else in the neighborhood
