Waterfront Restaurant in Middengebied

It's a shame that it closes in November for half a year for renovation.

A lovely restaurant with a terrace right by the sea. The staff is friendly and efficient. The food isn't cheap. One point deducted because it closes at 6 pm, even during peak season. If you're a hotel guest, you have to eat dinner elsewhere.

It is a shadow of the fine restaurant it once was. Sparse menu and not much on it. This used to be my goto place but now we went to eat somewhere else.

The waiter was very friendly and tried hard even though he only spoke English, the food was really good. Now we come to the negative: The waitress was very unfriendly and arrogant. My wife and son couldn't finish their portions and would have liked to have the leftovers wrapped up so that it doesn't get thrown away. The lady said that her boss wouldn't allow this and reacted very grumpily. The service was initially very pleasant for the young man, but when his colleague took over it was practically non-existent. The terrace was closed around 5 p.m. when we arrived despite the wonderful weather and summer temperatures...

Delicious dinner for a reasonable price

It's a shame that in September you can only enjoy the terrace until 4 p.m., after which you can sit in front of the restaurant, which was also pleasant, or in the interior. My partner's food was great, unfortunately my mussels weren't that good. But the day before was nice, met nice people and had a wonderful evening. Recommended 👍

Well, 7 p.m. reserved staff was on the couch almost had to wake you up only English speaking food was reasonable you had to get cutlery they forgot atmospheric candles on the table that you have to light yourself if you have the option, and yes for the price you pay it's a mockery and good evening, don't come off either

A very good delight, it wasn't a bad restaurant. Facing the sea and a very particular decoration but I love it.

Beautifully located on the boulevard of Vlissingen. However, no staff speaks Dutch, but fortunately they try. Impersonal. Took a long time before the ordered was served. Perhaps prepare the staff better for their work and activities.

Waiting 25 minutes for service...they're too busy to chat inside. In the end we left without drinking anything.

Amazing fish and chips, nice atmosphere, very friendly staff.

Absolute insider tip!! The dishes were very large and very tasty. An absolute dream, both visually and taste-wise! The prices are quite reasonable but they are really worth every cent! Very nice staff, polite and helpful! The breading was super crispy and the food was generally very tasty! We all really liked the atmosphere! Parking right around the corner, beautiful promenade in a quiet location with a great view of the sea!

A beautiful location on the water in Vissingen! Wonderful to sit there. We had coffee, a glass of wine/beer and some bitterballen. But the staff does not speak Dutch and is not attentive to the guests. Many people sat with empty glasses and to pay we had to wait 10 minutes before a waitress finally noticed our beck and call!

We ate delicious mussels and satay! We were allowed to open a window because it was very hot at the front of the restaurant. I was always startled by the door slamming shut, so make sure you close it carefully! Then everyone can enjoy their meal in peace.

We were no longer allowed to sit on the boulevard side, so we sat on the street side, terribly thirsty, so we ordered a coke with lots of ice, which turns out... the ice was gone, so I wonder how. restaurant, then you ask your fellow restaurant owners if you can borrow something, pfff really unbelievable, bad service!!

We waited for 15 minutes to order something. After 15 minutes someone called who would pass it on. After 5 minutes we left. What a service 👎

It was 30 degrees today. Received lukewarm coke in a glass without a spark and without ice cubes. My wife had a toasted sandwich. Bread was a cap. Very small slice of cheese of about 4 to 5 cm, somewhere in the middle. A slice of ham lay wafer-thin somewhere on half of the sandwich. Furthermore, large bare edges of bread without toppings. Location is great on the beach and the boy who helped us was friendly. Therefore three stars.

Four people ate mussels, very poor service, I will not eat there again.

The fried seafood starter was tasty. The fish and chips were a bit less. The quantity was sufficient, but the fish was a bit lacking.

Nice terrace that seems to float on the boulevard. You can look directly onto the beach and the Western Scheldt. Inside also looks cozy. We will definitely have a fork here again.

So far the best restaurant I've been in in Vlissingen. It felt like in between lounge and restaurant. Atmosphere very peaceful, relaxing with the gorgeous view of the sea. VERY DOG FRIENDLY.

Had pancakes, fast service and friendly staff. Nice view over the boulevard. Disadvantage: there is no vegetarian menu on the menu and you have to pay for parking.

What nice, sincere wait staff. They complete the dinner completely. The dishes for me and my daughter were perfect! Beef steak with lots of fresh trimmings and the Waterfront burger. It's been a long time since we had such a delicious meal in such a relaxed environment. Thanks.

Sit and enjoy the view. I was already used to ordering and paying via QR code in the West. I noticed that some people had difficulty with this. But you can also order and pay inside. Well organized because the food and drinks were delivered promptly.

This is where you go for a tasty snack/drink with a beautiful view of the boulevard, the sea and the busy shipping traffic. The service is friendly but slow or non-existent. You can then get your own drink.

Very friendly staff and good service! Tasty mussels and fantastic location with a good view of the sea. There was a lot of noise from beachgoers under the terrace and therefore had to move the table, which was a shame.

Expensive fish was taken, which did not taste like fish and was also quite tough. A waste of money. Location is good.

Terrace great, only order with QR code, if you can't do this, walk in yourself and order at the "bar". So you can pay for every order yourself and for the absurdly high prices they ask. Messy service, most people don't speak Dutch, shrimp cocktail starter good, but very expensive!! Bread board substandard, main course steak tough, satay meat impossible to remove. Got money back, but then didn't eat anything. Very unfortunate, because we chose this restaurant after some good experiences in the past.

I understand that the catering industry has to earn something, but a Fristi for 4 euros is a bit exorbitant. And just 10 minutes too late to be able to order appetizers at 5:10 PM.

Nice service. The atmosphere is super nice. If you're lucky, you can get a table with a direct view of the sea.

A nice café with a beautiful view of the sea, also stylishly furnished. You don't have to wait long for food and drink and it tasted good too. However, the food is way overpriced compared to other restaurants and cafes in the region. The waiters were all very friendly.

Top restaurant, always a friendly welcome, it feels like coming home, cozy interior, very well-kept kitchen, some of the highlights are their cheese and shrimp croquettes, pancakes with ice cream and lawyer, very tasty and very original service. The glass with ice cream and lawyer is among the two pancakes, highly recommended, we will definitely come back every time we are in Ostend, this is the place to be 👍

A cozy restaurant on the boulevard in Vlissingen. Delicious sole and steak! Staff is very friendly. The terrace has a beautiful view over the water, where the large ships almost sail over your feet, so close!!

Nice place to enjoy something delicious from the menu with a beautiful view of the beach and the sea! Inside it is nice and neatly decorated and the terrace is clean and cozy. There is also enough space so that you can keep sufficient distance from each other during the current pandemic. You can eat and drink here for a reasonable price. The day I write this review, I enjoyed lunch on the terrace with my wife and children. Fine, nothing to complain about. The staff was friendly and polite, but a bit on the slow side. We had to call someone a few times before we could order. But hey, with such a phenomenal view that shouldn't be a problem. In short: if you are ready for something tasty after a walk on the beach or if you just feel like having a few drinks with some friends, then drop by Waterfront!

Nicely located, nice terrace but the food leaves a lot to be desired

Location beautiful, but food is ridiculously expensive for what you get. Croquettes do not contain meat. The bread was not fresh. Goat cheese sandwich was no more than a roll for 12.50. That's really way too much. Drinks also way above the price. If you want to sit comfortably. I would only order drinks. I am quite willing to pay a little more, but I also saw someone take a piece of apple strudel and a cappuccino and I heard that man say that the apple strudel was 6.25 🙈🙈🙈 and the cappuccino was almost 4 euros.

On a sunny day with numerous visitors, the staff was a bit overwhelmed. Otherwise they were always friendly and helpful.

Starter, main course and drinks inedible! The waiter reacted very unprofessionally and disrespectfully to our criticism, which we expressed quite poorly on site, and laughed loudly about it. We paid €225 for the bad food, the flavored wine-based drink and the miserable service. Absolutely NOT recommended!!!!

Very bad experience, we ordered 1Fl. Wine and got a wine-like drink which wasn't visible on the menu. We continued with the food, ordered 2x veal steaks, none of us have ever eaten such a tough veal, with pepper sauce, the pepper was certainly well past its expiry date, then 1x fillet tips, the animal died twice, then 1x fish, which was OK except for the seasoning. We asked the waiter to come to the table, tell him about it, and he said: if you order a broth like that, you shouldn't expect anything... and so it went on, we obviously won't go there anymore
