beautiful place, shame about the super rude girls, they closed the bar without making last call and literally kicked us out of the terrace while they were dancing and rubbing against each other, even less, there are ways and ways of treating people and talking to people, if you close at 1 just communicate it without arrogance and presumption, certainly not like they did

Waterkant is worth a visit for the location alone. Situated beneath the parking garage, right on the water, this spot has a unique and surprising atmosphere. With a beer on the terrace, you can enjoy the view of the passing boats and the relaxed vibe. A special place in Amsterdam to drop by for a while.

Had a delicious cod sandwich. So tasty! Nice spot by the water, a bit hidden under the parking garage. You order yourself and pay immediately, hence slightly fewer stars. That doesn't take away from the fact that the staff is nice and friendly. And there is something to look at, of course. When sitting on the terrace, you are right by the water and something always passes by. Also a turning point for many a tour boat. Fun tourist watching 😄. Truly a brilliant spot and such an improvement over an ugly parking garage.

What a lovely location by the water, wonderful music from a DJ who was still spinning records, Surinamese music from the 60s to the 80s. Had a delicious meal, and the service was great. Super friendly staff.

A great place to have a drink when the sun is shining. Stationed below a parking garage right next to the water, they got a huge terrace with plenty of tables in both the sun and the shade. Their drink menu is varried and we saw they also offer food. We will definitely come back!

Waterkant has a fantastic atmosphere, a great location, and very friendly staff. The venue itself is excellent and it’s easy to see why it’s such a popular spot in Amsterdam. However, I was a bit disappointed by the “World Cup Deal” promotion. The name suggests it applies to all World Cup matches, but it only seems to be valid when the Netherlands is playing, which wasn’t clearly communicated. I also watched a Portugal match there during a very hot summer day. The outdoor area is nice, but anyone sitting outside basically turned into a lobster under the sun. The viewing experience was definitely better in the indoor section, where the screen visibility and overall comfort were much better. Another frustrating point was the food ordering system during the game. We were told it wasn’t possible to order food because our table didn’t have a number. However, inside the venue, the waitresses were regularly walking around calling out customers’ names to deliver orders, since the tables were completely mixed and crowded anyway. Because of that, the explanation didn’t really make much sense. When Ronaldo scored his third goal, I looked around and noticed that some people were eating. This was confusing because two people from my group had tried to order food earlier and were told it wasn’t possible because the tables didn’t have numbers. Seeing other customers receiving food despite the same situation made the explanation feel inconsistent. Overall, it’s still a great place with a wonderful vibe and kind staff!

The blonde bartender girl could really use a few days off or maybe a long vacation, because I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone so grumpy and unfriendly working at a bar. The place itself is very nice, with a good beer selection.

This place has an amazing vibe where all sorts of people from all walks of life come to hang out. Really creative drink selection and I especially loved their pitcher selection! I do feel like the bar tenders could be a bit nicer as their angry faces were on full display. Besides that. It’s a dope spot to kick it w friends.

It was my first time in the water can and I was really impressed. The place was completely packed, but we still got a very good service. Food was good and fast. Music is the best part of this place. I loved the music very well mixed I got to hear some Bachata some Reggaeton I’m a Latino so I really like my Latino music and they got the best. I loved the vibes of the place and I would recommend it for anyone visiting in Amsterdam. The view from the restaurant is also amazing so great job.

A really great spot for drinks and food in the evening, with music and a good atmosphere!! I recommend the super nachos to share (you can also get small snacks -> fries €5…) and the Paloma cocktail (€10).

Nice place, good seating, and tasty food. They did forget part of our order because of a sudden rush, but once notified it was fixed quickly and with no fuss.

Organized birthday drinks for 20 people at Waterkant and it was a fantastic evening! The team communicated well and were very helpful. Waterkant has a relaxed atmosphere where you can sit comfortably in the sun. It is also lovely to sit there in the evening. The food is tasty but quite pricey.

I visited Waterkant Amsterdam and really liked the relaxed vibe by the water. The food was tasty especially the fries and sauces and the portions were fair. Service was friendly but a bit slow when it got busy. Overall a nice place to hang out with friends and enjoy the view

Waterkant is such a wonderful spot — the atmosphere and setting are truly enjoyable, and it’s a place I’d love to return to. However, I did feel that some of the staff were quite rude and even seemed angry at times, which took away from the otherwise great experience. I hope management takes note, because the venue itself is excellent, and with friendlier service it could be outstanding.

Have you ever seen someone that rushes you to distribute the cake to you birthday guests, literally standing in front of you telling you to hurry and that “they are making an exception for you”? This is what would happen if you plan your birthday at waterkant. Place is great, drinks too. Service? Throw it out the window. Never met rudest personnel in my life. I am not the owner of the place. you should propose solutions to your clients or tell them if some things are unfeasible. It would have been sufficient to place my cake to the side tables, or to propose to do it outside, where we could have taken our time. That would have been a decent idea! Not putting my table in front of the console, while other people that fairly wanted to enjoy the music had to wait for us. But one of the guys at the bar didn’t have enough acumen to think about a better solution than that. Big applause for you! Unfortunately I was starting to get a bit pissed by it, so I didn’t think myself about these solutions in that moment, because they just went straight into moving our table (again, in front of the console). They might reply saying that some of my guests were late, that’s true, but as I have extensively mentioned, there were better solutions available, and he imposed the worst one. It’s not an exaggeration to say you ruined my birthday and made me feel very uncomfortable.

Nice cozy place to have drinks with friends near the canals

A bar with character and no filter. The music is booming, the people are laughing, and sometimes something flies across the bar – out of enthusiasm, that is. The beer is cold, the staff is friendly, the atmosphere is wild but cozy. If you're looking for perfection, you should go to a hotel bar.

We went there at night for drinks. Horrible staff, the waitress was screaming and having a horrible attitude towards everyone- would not return there!

Great big outdoor patio which is such a fun gathering place with a lovely canal view. I got the surinamese mule which had a very strong delicious ginger flavor and the heri heri which was so tasty and filling with a generous portion size.

I went there as a bar: a superb atmosphere throughout the evening that makes you want to stay there! Whether it's to have a quiet drink by the canal or to dance to the DJ's music with your friends, this place is made for you :)

Had a reservation with a whole group. One person called them and canceled, and then the whole reservation was canceled. And we were left out in the cold with the whole group (18 people). We looked for another restaurant. What a shame.

Don't spend your money here. They're incredibly overpriced, and they haven't heard of service or hospitality. I order nachos from the menu, for 10 euros. The description says guacamole and salsa. I get the container, and it's just tortilla chips, guacamole, and salsa. So I ask where the cheese is. It's not on there, and the menu says so. I ordered the nachos, not the super nachos. That's right. It says so on the menu. But without cheese, these aren't nachos. This is a bowl of chips and dips. Nachos are supposed to have cheese. I was still indignant. So I walked inside to ask if I could have a little cheese on them. I was happy to pay a little extra. But no, that wasn't possible. I either had to get the larger nacho platter (which costs 17 euros!), with more chips and therefore cheese, or the container I had. She couldn't put cheese on my chips; I had to have the super nachos. Regular nachos were out of the question. They were NOT nachos, but chips with dips. Because nachos have cheese. I did mention that, but then they said, "We decide what's on the menu." I didn't want such a large portion, but a slightly smaller one. The staff's attitude was quite defensive and a bit arrogant. As I was walking away, I was laughing about it with my colleagues. She wasn't wrong. It was indeed on the menu, but these aren't nachos. And that's not how you handle things. They either made me pay a few euros extra (at my initiative, which I'm glad I did), or they just gave me a little cheese on top and said, "We don't really do this, but just this once. Next time, you'll know better." The attitude and service were completely unfriendly. I definitely won't be coming back.

Love to come here at any time and just have some beers, snacks and hang out with friends and meet new people. Been going to Waterkant for some time now since I moved to Ams, and this place never disappoints, always so chill and relaxing with DJ nights on the weekends!

The food was excellent and delicious. DON'T order sangria: a little wine diluted with plenty of water and ice, along with some lemons and oranges. The atmosphere was pleasantly busy.

This beer garden is so charming. It has the perfect layout for sitting in the sun or seeking some shade, all with a wonderful view of the canal. It was moderately busy when I visited (on a Sunday), the atmosphere stood out as lively. I would easily return here to relax and take in the views 🌞

A great place to go with friends for an afternoon drink of beer next to a canal while watching the sunset. It's usually packed, even though there are plenty of high benches and tables. They offer the typical snacks, but with a Surinamese origin.

We went for a drink after seeing it recommended on several travel sites. I definitely recommend it. The place is very cool and right on the canal, a cool place with a good atmosphere.

We went because it was recommended by locals, I think it was a Friday. It was extremely crowded, and we barely found a seat. It's a hangout for Amsterdam university students, with a young average age, a nice view but very loud, and the beer is just okay. Brouwerij't, another local recommendation, is much better than here, and we liked both the atmosphere and the beer better.

Beautiful location but unfortunately the food and homemade drinks were not to taste. They use syrup while it says homemade. In addition, my experience is that the ingredients are used very sparingly, which means that the flavors remain flat and bland. Too bad, because the dish clearly has potential if more attention is paid to the taste. An unknown pearl on the water! You can easily park your car in the Q-parking. Food is delicious, nice menu. Felt at home right away.

Very nice place, you get to sit next to the canal. Their cinnamon buns are amazing! And their cocktails too. Only thing that is a bit annoying is that in summer it gets extremely full but that is what you sing up for, still such a nice place
