What a great experience. Both sushi and fish. We loved the oysters, octopus, tacos, everything we ate. Located opposite the port. Friendly service.

The lobster is highly recommended. Very friendly service and very flexible. Due to the heavy rain the day before, I suddenly got a shower because there was still rainwater on the blinds. Even though I had already eaten more than half of the lobster, another lobster was served promptly and without question.

I remembered Areia's atmosphere being a bit more upscale than Lemongrass, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. While the oysters at Lemongrass were perfectly served, Areia's was rather disappointing. Aluminum foil instead of ice, warm oysters, and no fork. The drinks hadn't arrived yet when the appetizers were already on the table. That could have been better, which is a shame.

Very nice spot on the haven. Food from Vigo is always excellent. Service was very nice with 2 young ladies. Usually we have unexperimented people in Holland in the restaurant. So it’s important to mentioned it and to let tips for them, when comes the bill. Thanks for the good time.

Fantastic experience! Super delicious food, the best Bouillabaisse and gratinated Lobster we’ve ever had. Also the Lobster tartare is to die for. The Cod fish was tasty, a tad bit too dry but with the amazing beetroot puree it was really nice. Nice service & atmosphere✨

Nice restaurant on the harbour, good location, but as always less than average service... only children. I ordered 12 oysters, got 6, ordered another glass of champagne, but it didn't come. The answer when I paid? "Sorry". Sorry, I will never come back. Good luck.

A fantastic place at the harbour of Scheveningen, where you can enjoy an atmospheric environment and a beautiful view of the water. The service is incredibly friendly and makes you feel welcome right away. The menu offers a wide choice of delicious fish and sushi dishes, all fresh and prepared with care. In addition, there is an excellent selection of refined wines that go well with the dishes. An absolute must for lovers of seafood, good wine and a relaxing evening out!

Good food, good service and and sitting outside on a sunny day definitely adds to the pleasant experience. Good quality food, priced accordingly.

Slechte en trage bediening ondanks dat het rustig was. Bovendien vond het personeel het gepast om stinkende vuilniszakken via het buitenterras, waar alle gasten zaten vanwege het mooie weer, te lozen. Er was ook nog eens een sterke rioollucht te ruiken op het terras. Kortom, een onplezierige ervaring.

Whilst the food was acceptable, the service was disappointingly slow. We had to ask several times for the English version of the menu, and then for the list of cocktails. We had to wait a long time between starters and main course. We felt abandoned and the waiters seem to be more occupied with the sister restaurant Lemongrass that was more busy. There was also a sewage smell outside on the terrasse. I do not recommend this restaurant.

Wonderful fish restaurant with fresh fish processed into beautiful dishes. The daily specials are also really great. It is always top quality! (The meat dishes are also delicious, so definitely worth it if you don't like fish)

Had dinner at AREIA last night and what a wonderful evening! We arrived at 6:00 PM and it was immediately clear: this is the kind of place where you like to spend the evening. The terrace was full, with a lively atmosphere, just the right mix of cozy and stylish. The service was top notch, pleasant and without fuss – just the way you want it. And the food? Really enjoy. Perfectly flavoured, beautifully presented and prepared with attention. AREIA has that relaxed vibe where you linger. We will definitely come back!

Heerlijk gegeten, vriendelijke bediening en prettige sfeer. De akoestiek is goed, ondanks een volle zaak was het geluidsniveau goed te doen. Dus alles bij elkaar een topavond!

Exactly what we were hoping for. A nice wine list. Delicious dishes. We started with an oyster tasting, which were as tender as butter. Naturally, we enjoyed it with a glass of bubbly on the sunny terrace. The scallops, Asian steak tartare, and the miso black cod (super tender) were delicious. Of course, there's more delicious food on the menu. Friendly service. And a lovely atmosphere.

Amazing experience! We ordered the lobster menu, together with a nice bottle of Riesling. Food was nice and tasty! The waitress was flawless. Always as king of everything was okay, translate and explained the menu for us in English and was very nice. We’ll come back, for sure!

Leuke sfeer, goede service en geweldig eten! Zeker een aanrader! Ook heerlijk om een keer te gaan lunchen. Het terras is ook top als het wat frisser is omdat er heathers zijn.

Je zit heerlijk in de avond zon met uitzicht op de haven. Elk gerechtje wat we hadden besteld was top. Bediening ook heel gezellig en beleefd.

Heerlijk gegeten! Lekker de hele avond in het zonnetje gezeten op het buitenterras. Vriendelijk personeel en eten was heerlijk.

What can I say other than that it was delicious… If you’re in The Hague, don’t hesitate, go for it. Reservations are required! Prices are moderate but worth it! I would go back with pleasure

Food is good, atmoaphere and the staff is amazing. We ordered the Lobster, it was fresh and well cooked. The fires were also well done. One of us ordered an espresso Martini and the waitress made it for ua even thoigh it was lunch time. It was absolutely amazing. The choice of food and drinks is good. If you are around and want to have lunch or dinner, this is a highly recomended place to be.

The atmostphere is modern and posh. Food is quite good albeit slightly expensive. Staff is very efficient and friendly. We ordered thai style ribs, Flaming fries, lobster. Lobster was very fresh and the rest quite good. Beer selection is slightly resticted but sufficient. We had espresso martini which was delicious and the menu had some more unique cocktails.

Het eten is fantastisch en de bediening zeer vriendelijk en gastvrij. We hadden kakelverse oesters en heerlijke sushi. Reken maar dat we terugkomen.

We komen al lang bij Areia en het is altijd meer dan naar wens, heerlijk eten, ontzettend fijne bediening en een hele mooie wijnkaart. Een echte aanrader.

Dès l’entrée, on sait qu’on va passer un très bon moment ! (en cette période de Noël, belle décoration qui rend l’endroit encore plus cosy). Nous avons très bien dîné, avec une cuisson parfaite et pour le poisson et pour la viande. Quant au cheesecake à la pistache… 😋 Service efficace. Y aller sans hésitation !

Ja eigenlijk hoef ik hier weinig te zeggen, zoals altijd (hoe druk het ook is) vriendelijke en goede bediening. Maakt niet uit wat je eet maar is altijd top. Al kan ik niks zeggen over de sushi want dat vind ik echt niet lekker ongeacht waar.

Super lekker gegeten en heel gastvrij personeel. Hele gevarieerde kaart met voor elk wat wils. Een echte aanrader! We komen snel terug voor een herhaling.

Areia is altijd een feestje om naartoe te gaan en vooral om te genieten van het heerlijke eten, de goede wijnen en het uitstekend opgeleide en altijd even vriendelijke personeel. Aanrader dus!

zeer leuk en warm restaurant, heerlijk aan een tafel aan de bar gezeten, super leuk. het eten aan een van de meiden over gelaten en was echt heerlijk! wij gaan volgende week weer!!

We kwamen hier terecht, omdat Lemongrass vol was. Was ons eerste bezoek in dit restaurant. Zaak heeft een goede ambiance. Informeel chic, we konden er ontspannen dineren. Goede geluiddemping. Bediening was vlot en attent. Heerlijke witte wijn, goede wijnkaart en dessert (tropische cheescake) met passende dessertwijn Sauternes is een topper. Witte wijn (Duo des Mers Sauvignon Blanc) bij het eten was heerlijk en goed op temperatuur. Hoeveelheid (we hadden zeebaars) was te weining. Enkel (te) klein stukje zeebaarsfilet. Doperwtenpuree was nauweljjks zichtbaar op het bord. Voor de prijs 30 euro pp mag je 2 filetjes verwachte . Eten is geen sterrenkwaliteit, wat ze wel proberen uit te stralen. Portie frites besteld voor extra maagvulling. Fles plat (kraan) water stond voor 7 euro(!) op rekening. Heb ik moeite mee. Daarom een voldoende gegeven.

Dit keer was het bezoek aan dit restaurant een teleurstelling. Service liet veel te wensen over. De Noordzeetongen smaakten waterig, totaal geen smaak, het leek wel of ze uit de diepvries kwamen. Toen er gevraagd was hoe we het eten vonden, heb ik eerlijk gezegd, dat ik zeer teleurgesteld was. Hier bleef het bij, er kwam geen reactie. Dus dit restaurant staat op mijn zwarte lijst!

From Amsterdam with good news from the AVL, in our search for a nice restaurant with an unusual menu, we finally ended up in Scheveningen! What luck: Joëlle who welcomed us very spontaneously and who single-handedly keeps the front of the restaurant running... For us, as catering tigers, a lady who will be a great added value in every restaurant. The dishes were all of excellent presentation and taste and the wines chosen from the impressive wine list were fantastic! The ambiance is great and the grandeur is palpable. We had a wonderfully relaxing afternoon and our party couldn't have been celebrated better than at Areia. Thanks also to the kitchen staff.

Sitting outside in the sun with a beer. The waiter came to take everything away, without saying anything or asking if we wanted to use anything else. Something like getting away, no point anymore, and that's how he came across. No pleasure in work. Snacks are very limited.

On a quiet Thursday evening we ate the 5 course lobster menu...with a good bottle of wine and a cocktail... good price for the menu and the wine...

Shrinkflation has hit Areia hard. Whenever I ordered a bouillabaisse before, I received a large plate full of delicious fish soup. You had a meal out of it. Now the soup is still tasty, but the portion has been halved. For €18 a cup of soup, I won't be doing that again anytime soon. Shame!

Don't speak German!!! - otherwise you won't be served at all - pretty much the last thing! The HATERS!!! Minus one star!

De kwaliteit was slecht. De oesters smaken naar toilet water. De kreeft taco’s en de mosselen lieten ook veel te verwachten. En laat me niet eens over het personeel beginnen. Niemand lacht, ze kijken allemaal alsof je beter kan oprotten. Ik heb meerdere keren moeten roepen zo dat iemand mijn bestelling kwam opnemen, terwijl het niet eens druk was en voldoende personeel aanwezig was. En op het einde gingen ze naast ons zitten en zo haard praten dat ik niet meer een conversatie con houden met mijn vriendin. Bovendien kregen we zowel mijn vriendin en ik klachten ervan die zelfde avond en de dag erna. Conclusie als jullie fatsoenlijk willen eten, ga naar “De Dagvisser”, tweede restaurants aan de rechterkant.

What a nice restaurant! Service not formal but super attentive, food delicious and we almost never skip the Sushi. We always get great wine advice from Jimmy - although for Sushi we usually end up with the South African Chenin Blanc or, if we don't have to work the next day, with 'the Enate' Chardonnay. We literally live around the corner and are happy that this beautiful business has been added to the quay. Also try the avocado tartare (vegetarian and also delicious). Hopefully see you again soon!

After a long time, we decided to eat here again with friends. One of my friends is a vegetarian. There is hardly any choice of vegetarian dishes. The lobster was grilled just too long and tough. The tuna was cold inside. Miniature portion of fries and lettuce. We immediately ordered more and are now waiting for an extra portion of fries. All in all, a big failing grade. I won't go here again.

……and the fries? That is yet to come!! We ordered Tuna, cold, Lobster, no sauce, Fries, never arrived. Terribly inconsiderate staff, high prices and bad food.

Of all the restaurants around us this has to be the one that stands out in all areas especially the food and the staff are amazing

Good quality food but very small quantity and therefore overpriced. Steamed vegetables that were on the menu were 3 small pieces, fries minimal quantity. Same went for taco tuna. We don't go there anymore.

We hadden het voornemen om voordat we naar een ander restaurant gaan om te gaan eten eerst nog een mooie cocktail of wijn te drinken bij area. Ik loop naar binnen om te vragen of we buiten mogen zitten en een drankje bestellen. Twee jonge mannen van de bediening zitten aan de bar en ik vraag of we buiten wat kunnen drinken. Zonder iets te zeggen wijzen ze achter zich waaruit ik moet concluderen dat er iemand rondloopt aan wie ik dat nogmaals moet vragen. Er komt een senior medewerker naar mij toe aan wie ik dezelfde vraag stel en vraagt of ik de wijnkaart wil zien en ik antwoord dat ik ook de cocktail menu wil zien. Tien minuten later komt een jonge dame van de bediening naar buiten om te vragen of we wat willen drinken en of ze de menukaart moet brengen. Ik geef aan dat ik haar collega om de wijn en cocktailkaart had gevraagd. Ze draait zich om en gaat naar binnen. Na 15 minuten is ze nog niet terug en zijn wij naar een ander terras vertrokken……

Food not bad, staff unwelcoming. Ate 2 times, food was from average to good. Unfortunately, the staff is not very friendly. Today we thought we would have an aperitif on the terrace. We had to go inside to report ourselves and were shown outside with a hand gesture. Would we like the wine list and cocktail list? After 5 minutes someone came out, without a card, asking what we wanted to drink. Requested a card again and received it. Well... and then no one came anymore. We left after fifteen minutes... too bad Areia, that can/must be better.

We had a great meal here. The restaurant has a beautiful terrace at the Scheveningen marina. The lobster is an absolute must, it is delicious grilled in garlic oil. Service was professional, yet approachable and the drinks were delicious! Thanks to Jimmy and team for being great pleasant evening!

We visited this restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday. The food was just okay, lacking a bit in distinctiveness. However, the service was excellent. During our meal, there was an unfortunate incident involving my wife speaking to her mother in her mother tongue over the phone. Two elderly women at the next table loudly complained about the volume of her conversation. The staff were quick to step in and professionally defuse the situation, showing great sensitivity and support, which allowed us to enjoy the rest of our evening. Thanks to the staff for their understanding and effective management of what could have been a more upsetting experience. However I do believe I will never go to this restaurant again.

This place is a gem! Every member of the staff is super lovely. The food is just so yummy, really delicious and very good quality. The atmosphere is cosy, chilled and the place is so well decorated. The terrace is also super nice with a view on the marina. The wine menu is just amazing! Everything is so perfect ! We really lived it and can only recommend !

Delicious lunch. It was very quiet there because of the CPC run, which made it a bit less pleasant than usual.

We had dinner with our family and it was all very good, the food was tasty and the service was also very good. You will definitely see Areia us again and definitely recommended.

Such an amazing experience! The staff was very welcoming and friendly, the food is great - the Poké bowl was the best I've ever had - and the view and ambiance is an experience on itself.
