Wonder's eten&drinken in Schagen (woonkern-Midden)

Almost everything was great. It was a shame the staff forgot my allergy three times, and I still got something with nuts. That was resolved, but it's unsociable to eat one after the other.

We had a great meal here. Luckily, we had made a reservation because it was quite busy, but despite the crowd, we were still helped well. The service was excellent.

Dinner for five. The lamps were hung too low above the table. Two men bumped their heads on the lamp. We were told to be careful. When we pointed out that the lamps were hung too low, they said it was for the ambiance. Poor lighting. The five of us were reading the menu with our phone lamp. We're a bit older than average. They also indicated that the ambiance is more important to them. Dinner for five included one cone of fries, which was immediately empty. When we asked, they said that one cone of fries is served for every three people. The five of us quickly agreed. We last ate at Wonders in Schagen.

Before the short track, with the horses, I had a steak here with my colleagues before the competition was judged. Great spot on the market square 😉.

Chai latte was very bland. The tunna melt, which was listed on the menu as having fine iceberg lettuce, was served with arugula. Cutlery wasn't placed neatly.

Cozy terrace on the market square! I had a wonderful time sitting on the terrace with a beautiful view of the church. The service was incredibly fast and friendly, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The pastries were truly delicious, highly recommended! The coffee was average, but the pastries more than made up for it. A perfect spot for a relaxing afternoon with a fantastic piece of cake. I'll definitely be back!

It's really nice here. Lots of flies, but luckily we're inside. It's not too crowded inside, thankfully. The food is delicious, too, and there's a huge selection.

We had lunch here during the West Friesland market. It was unbearably hot and incredibly crowded. Despite this, we received friendly service and had a delicious meal. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience!

A great place. Beautifully decorated establishment. The food was really great. The whole family enjoyed it. We waited a bit for the food, but it was worth it. The downside was the price of the 75cl bottle of still water: €15 for two bottles is ridiculous! A salad with the omelet would have been nice, and fries with the burger would have been just as nice. I still recommend it.

A visually hip place with super-motivated service. Unfortunately, we found the portions to be much too small for the price of the food. A portion of tortellini with 8 individual pieces is really nothing. Without the starter (whipped brie - it was absolutely fantastic), my partner probably wouldn't have even been full. Of the two dishes we ordered with fries, only one was brought. After asking, the portion would have been enough for both of us... Strangely, that wasn't the case at the neighboring tables?!? What a shame...

We had lunch here on a Thursday in the summer. The patio was incredibly busy, but there was still room inside. They were working hard. Lunch was delicious and served quickly.

Tijdens de Schagermarkt hier geluncht. Het broodje kipsalade was zeer summier besmeerd met wat kipsalade met wat uitgedroogde bosui en wat slablaadjes eroverheen. Dit was wel een erg minimalistisch gerechtje. Bediening was vriendelijk.

We are so disappointed with Wonders and their overall service. We will not choose to eat there again anytime soon. The service was not that friendly on the terrace. After having to wait a very long time for our lunch, which made it cold, it finally arrived. When they asked if everything was to my liking and I said no, little was done about it. Too bad that there is quite a big difference between price/quality.

It was nice, only had to order an extra shot of limoncello for the limoncello spritz, the proportions were not quite right, otherwise friendly and neat.

I found the quality of the food below average. The vegetables were still raw and inedible. The sauce with the fish was tasteless. Price quality not in proportion.

Came here to have a drink but was told off in a rather unfriendly way by the lady when we arrived. That could have been done differently in my opinion. Furthermore, the drinks were good.

The "Twijfelaartje" is highly recommended. Staff is friendly. The young guard could be a bit friendlier (not very involved).

Relatively expensive, small portions, ordered steak medium but it was practically well done. Friendly service and nice atmosphere/location.

Had to wait more than an hour for the food. When it was served the burger and pizza was cold. Very poor and absolutely no value for money. In my opinion they just forgot about us. Are too modest to send everything back. Which should have been done. No more Wonders Schagen for the time being.

Honestly, the train station is very noisy, prices are high for little food. I wouldn't go here to eat again.

Incredibly good! I went out for dinner with my parents and we were served excellently by Eric. Besides the fact that the food was delicious, we were served very quickly and we had perfect timing for food and drinks, brought by Wouter... Both men had a nice chat and spent time with the guests. I was also positively surprised at checkout because the price-quality ratio is perfect here!

Lovely on the heated terrace. Very nice staff, nice meal inside after an afternoon of drinks outside.

Unfortunately we had a very bad lunch... carpaccio salad is a mini dish, but the chicken satay for 20 euros is literally 1 skewer and just mediocre... the last time for us... luckily all adjacent competitors are much better.

What poor service, you reserve a table and it is simply occupied. And then the way you are treated.

We had two vouchers of 45 euros from personal note on our phone. But because we had not physically printed the vouchers (we thought, as an older generation, we live in a digital age). we did not receive the discount of 90 euros. We are now obliged to book one more time and come by so that we can still redeem the vouchers. The staff did not want to print the receipts for us. This is very sophisticated and cunning.

Very tasty food, great atmosphere, good service. It was full and the service was still fast and correct.

Popped in when we stopped by for a glass of wine with garnish. Surprise... delicious sauvignon + Wonder's planks. We enjoyed it!!

Been there before for snacks and cocktails. Now for dinner. Service was nice, food all came very quickly. Diamaat tenderloin in a few pieces, but this is really an ordinary steak. Doesn't melt in your mouth 😉 it looked like a food bar so busy around you. Great for drinks or cocktails. But we are not going to have dinner anymore. We thought we would eat comfortably... you will be outside within an hour and a half. Friend wasn't full either☺️🤪

What a nice dinner this was! With three kids and a baby in the stroller, room was made available for us at the last minute. The service was very good. Just like the food! We had a wonderful evening here and will definitely come back.

We had dinner there for the first time on Saturday evening, really great! Food was great, service was great, so we thought on Sunday, let's have lunch there with two dear friends. During lunch we walked outside for a cigarette and I wanted to use my vape. My friend couldn't get her butt to light and she ended up standing half in the hall trying to light it and it worked. Someone from the restaurant came forward on high legs and my girlfriend was scolded. Some cigarette smell came in and the restaurant employee was not pleased with that. And I certainly understand that. His right of course! Girlfriend has apologized, we don't know whether it was accepted, his head was in a storm. Once back to the table to continue enjoying our lunch, I noticed that the employee who scolded my friend was discussing the incident with someone from the wait staff. I noticed that he was pointing at my girlfriend, with his face. Was as clear as anything. It's completely fine to speak to someone about their behavior or whatever, but if an apology is offered, accept it. Discussing with other staff is also fine, but do so afterwards and not in the middle of your restaurant, close to our table! That's really not chic..... And whether you are an employee, manager or owner, this has not been handled professionally. If everything had been handled more mildly, all stars would have been 5, but now a few have been removed. Don't know if we will come back, very unfortunate....

We came here with 5 people and a dog. The dog was allowed and welcomed with a bowl of water. The service was fast and the attendant was very polite. Everything was tasty and well prepared, except the rib eye. The meat was not cooked evenly. The atmosphere was cozy and the plates were beautifully presented

I love the omelet here! Of course I like other dishes too! Servants always attentive to welcome you! delicious food and cozy space.

After a summer on the terrace, have a nice drink and something to eat, and enjoy a delicious meal with friends in the restaurant this evening. Cozy, nice and busy, but just fast and friendly service. Everything runs and goes well. The food was very tasty for all four of us. All something different and all very satisfied with the delicious dish. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. It was very nice and tasty. So until next time!

Good food but it takes a long time to bring the food

Unfortunately we probably ordered the wrong thing. I wanted to have lemon tart with our good-tasting cappuccino. A very dry, palm-sized, very tightly filled tart arrived on a huge plate. Incredible. 3 berries completed the picture for €6.30. I found that outrageous. But it was probably just a wrong decision on my part. I can't recommend it.

Arrived quite late for a spontaneous dinner. The kitchen closes at 10 p.m. and when we arrived around 9:45 p.m. we were warmly welcomed for dinner. The food was excellent. Well prepared by the chef and the service was friendly and helpful.

We had something to celebrate so we spontaneously went for something to eat at Wonders. The patio heating was turned on upon request, great! In terms of atmosphere, we found it very pleasant. But... we come there to eat *deliciously*. That was a bit disappointing. The starter was fine, the main course (ribeye) was a bit disappointing, but acceptable. We would get fries with the main course. My friend requested that his fries could also be replaced with sweet potato fries. This was possible. When we received the main course, there was 1 portion of sweet potato fries and the fries that accompanied my main course were not delivered. These sweet potato fries are also fully included in the price, while fries are complementary to the main course (I think paying a few euros extra is logical, but not paying for an extra side dish while we didn't get the fries). I thought the dessert was a complete mockery. We opted for the Chocolate cheesecake with white chocolate ganache. With a chocolate cheesecake I imagine a slice of rich cheesecake packed with chocolate, which is nice and creamy on the inside. The opposite was true. For 9 euros we got a dry cake the size of a mini Snickers that was very dry and the chocolate was missing. The 'ganache' was also nothing... a drop of white chocolate and that was it. In addition, this was topped with kenefe, which tasted like uncooked noodles and was not tasty. We also pointed this out to the waiter and he joked that he indeed thought it was a poor dessert and that he did not understand kenefe either. All in all, it was quite pleasant to sit, but the more than a hundred euros that the two of us spent was really not worth it.

With lunchtime I chose my favorite menu for Wonder's food&drink. My order, bread with fried egg, ham and cheese was delivered fairly quickly. The staff was nice and helpful.

We had dinner here with 6 people. As mentioned earlier in a review, the drink was quickly consumed and served. However, the food only arrived after more than an hour. Unfortunately I had to return the “Taco's pulled pork”. Half of the taco was tough and had clearly been sitting around for some time. The “pulled pork” tasted like canned tuna, but with a meaty flavor… Fortunately, the burger I ordered afterwards was fine to eat. If you want good food and service that puts a smile on your face, I would look further.

Nice location on market square, very busy but lots of servers. Even so, service slow . Food took an hour+ to come and server wasn’t keeping an eye on this. The quality of the food was poor, the tacos were somehow stale and the other dishes tasted as if reheated in a microwave. The side of frites appeared 20 minutes after the entrecote. Very disappointing.

Worst salad I have eaten so far. Just lettuce and old chicken with mayo and the price was high 19€ for one salad. Wouldn’t recommend.

A mocktail was not allowed to be sold to a minor, one steak was grainy, the other was reasonable, the sauce ordered was wrong, the staff hardly looks after you, you always have to ask for service

Went in as an American family with some Dutch friends. The waitress was very kind and patient with us as our friend translated for us. The food was excellent. I got the pork medallions. The meat wasn’t really seasoned like you find in the states, but the sauce on top made up for it - it was divine. Not sure why there is all the hate about it being expensive. Our bill of ten meals, drinks and tip was just over 200 euros. Seems like a great deal to me…

Yet again I gave it a chance, but what a travesty; lunch was only served after 45 minutes (toasted sandwich, how long can it take?). Okay, it was busy, but the sandwich was also with meat instead of the variant ordered without. Food not interesting either. Not recommended.

We had a high tea on Sunday, we were really not satisfied.. everything was a bit messy.. sandwiches were delivered incorrectly. One person did not ask for fish... the other did not get it either, very strange and too short... there were no spoons in the sauces and in the fruit...it wasn't high tea for me...nothing nice about it...sorry but this was my experience...staff was friendly...greetings

Even though the table next to us had been empty all evening, it was immediately stated in a blunt manner that we were not allowed to move them together due to occupancy. Then we had to wait an incredibly long time for the main course. When we asked how long it would take, we were told that they had accidentally not registered our main course. Then it took a very long time before the food arrived. Small portions and still very hungry so I ordered another dessert, after 1 scoop I have plastic in my mouth and I am very surprised. We call the server who apologizes and brings a new one, I share this with my friend and we both have plastic in our mouths again, as expected our appetite was immediately gone and I worry whether I have already consumed more because I Already had 1 scoop. So if you ordered a Dame Blanche on May 18, I would keep a close eye on your health. The waitress gave several apologies and gave us a free round of drinks, but we will definitely not be back.

Terrible, expensive and substandard quality and I want to leave it at that.

Had lunch here last Tuesday. Drinks were taken straight away but it took quite a while before our lunch order could be placed even though it was quite quiet. This felt a bit like being able to sell some extra drinks. The ordered lunch week special, which consisted of a soup and a goat cheese sandwich with walnut and honey, was great. Unfortunately, we initially received dirty cutlery.
