Great view. Nice aesthetic. It is just a bit stingy that when you order a pizza, there is a hole the size of the Chicxulub crater in the middle, leaving you with a meager crust. Otherwise, the taste was fine. Also really cool that when you want to pay, the waitress completely ignores you 791 times as if you are made of anti-matter and are therefore just completely invisible. I could have just walked away 6 times and not paid. Well arranged.

They claim that the kitchen is open until 9 p.m. However, when we arrived at 8:10 p.m., an unfriendly employee snapped at us that the kitchen was already closed and that we could no longer eat. The fact that the kitchen apparently closes an hour earlier than indicated, and that this is communicated in such an unfriendly manner, does not, in our opinion, exactly testify to good service.

Excellent wood-fired pizzas, friendly staff, and air conditioning – I highly recommend it! 😋

Orders arriving in batches, long waits, irritated staff... A shame. Fortunately, the food was pretty good, except for the pizza crusts, which were really, really hard. One extra star because of that one young woman serving who did try her very best.

There were a group of us. The pizzas were tough, and some ingredients were cold. The lasagna was tasty. The staff was very chaotic; we had to wait a long time every time, which did not improve the atmosphere. One of the staff members tried to salvage the situation and offered her apologies.

This is now the third time in a row that we left with a bad experience. After sitting down, we waited 10 minutes before our drinks order was taken, and then waited another 10 minutes for the drinks. Incidentally, this was also the only time we had anything to drink; during our 2.5-hour stay, we were never once asked if everything was to our liking or if we wanted anything else. We had mozzarella garlic bread as a starter; after that was finished, we had to wait an hour for the pizzas. I then asked the waitress how much longer it would take, and suddenly, after just a few minutes, they arrived. After the pizzas were finished, the plates were cleared, and we were not asked if we wanted coffee, tea, or anything else to drink, let alone dessert. After sitting and waiting for half an hour, another waiter came to ask if we wanted anything else, to which we replied that it was too late; the waiter nodded and walked inside. After fifteen minutes, we just walked in ourselves to ask for the bill. I have always enjoyed my time at Woodstone, but this is now the umpteenth time we have to deal with such long wait times and dry mouths; it is a real shame.

We dined at this restaurant with a group on Wednesday, July 29. Unfortunately, it was a major disappointment for all of us. Even though we had made a reservation, nothing was ready upon arrival. Subsequently, it took about half an hour before someone came to ask if we wanted anything to drink. The service was very slow, and the food did not arrive at the same time. One person at the table had to wait a very long time while the rest were already eating. My pizza was undercooked; the dough was tough and partly raw. I did get a new pizza, but the process was not exactly friendly. What stood out most was that practically the entire table shared the same opinion: both the pizzas and the pastas were very bland and lacked flavor. The knives were also blunt, making even cutting a pizza a challenge. To conclude, we asked for our final drink three times. It was never brought. Eventually, we asked for the bill and left. We honestly shared our experience with the waitress. Her response was: "You are honest, I will pass it on." Afterwards, everyone in our group agreed on one thing: we are not coming back here. Not only because of the slow service and unfriendly staff, but mainly because the food simply wasn't good. In the end, we found that to be the biggest problem.

We ordered the 3-course menu. Because it was busy, we sat upstairs. The food was good, but the service was mediocre. Twice, a regular beer was served instead of non-alcoholic beer; the service was slow, and they forgot our dessert, meaning we had to ask for it three times. Now, as I write this review, we are still waiting for dessert. The place has potential, but there is work to be done, and the staff needs to be trained and become sharper.

First, we went there on Valentine's Day and waited 2.5 hours for the food; this was very disappointing. Luckily, we had nice people around us who were going through the same thing, and that was the only thing that kept me there... but yeah, I thought it's very busy, better luck next time.... now we went again today and I can still feel the terrible chair, and the service was very bad and slow again.. the food we had after 2 hours was very good, but we didn't wait for the dessert from the 3-course menu; it took way too long again and the chairs are torture there, this was the last time, now never again... they should change Wood Stone to Slow Stone!

I was with a friend and the outside was beautiful. I wanted to eat outside with my son as well. We made a reservation. I asked for a table outside. A normal warm summer day. I was given a spot in a corner opposite the toilet, even though there were still empty tables. The outside area was closed because they thought it was cold. The pizza was very spicy. A pasta portion was small. I asked for sparkling water. The waitress asked me: "Can I get a bottle of water for both of us, for my son?" She gave me lukewarm water, just from the tap, I think. It cost 3 euros per glass. The food was expensive too. I could have bought Domino's Pizza. We left almost 30 minutes later. I didn't like seeing all those people going to the toilet. Unfair business practices, and I will never go again.

Terrible service, 20 mins and no menu

We were with friends, we were the only customers, the service was okay. After 10 minutes they came over to ask what we wanted to drink, and after 20 minutes we received our drinks, which were simply in bottles. Even then, we didn't get a menu.

The food is tasty and there is something for everyone. Unfortunately, the service is so incredibly bad. Every single time we eat here, the service is poor. You have to ask for everything, even if empty glasses can be taken away and if we can get cutlery. We were 3 adults and 1 child, and we didn't get our main course until after 2 hours. In the end, we sat there for well over 3 hours and only managed to have two drinks... It's a good thing the food is so tasty, but otherwise, the service is a nightmare every single time.

Every time we go shoe shopping in Alphen, we have pizza at Woodstone afterwards. What delicious, authentic pizzas. There are new specials every time. Nice small pizzas for kids. I had pizza with goat cheese, balsamic vinegar, spinach, and pesto. Delicious!!

NEVER ORDER THE NACHOS IN YOUR LIFE THEY'RE ONLY 5 NACHOS

As always, it was a great pleasure to taste the delicious food with a perfect service, congratulations to the restaurant to keep higher level o quality in a warm and carefully environment.

Pizza Sorella is highly recommended and the staff is very friendly.

We ended up here on Valentine's Day after fleeing the chaos and stress at the restaurant where we'd originally booked. Luckily, there was still a table available. We were struck by how well-run the place was, even though it was so busy. All the staff were friendly, we received our drinks and food promptly, and it was delicious. Martijn was very attentive and took the time to provide personal attention, not only to us but also to the people around us. Someone like that is invaluable these days, and that's why we'd like to nominate him for a well-deserved raise! (And no, we don't know him personally.)

A very bad restaurant, the food is mediocre to bad. The service is poor to worse. I gave it three chances. In conclusion, I would definitely advise against it.

We come here regularly for lunch and order a flatbread or lunch pizza (half size). The food is good, balanced in terms of flavor, and the ingredients are fresh. Get a dip on the side for the crust (tip). Super nice service and kitchen staff.

Had a great experience having lunch at Woodstone. Food was tasty and aligned to italian delicacy. Nice and quite ambience. Easy to reach as you can park free for 90 minutes at Parkeergarage de Aarhof which is hardly 50m from woodstone.

Is a great restaurant with really good food. The night we were there it was really busy and it took too long to get our food. It was an hour after we had ordered before it came. That is why I can't give it 5 stars unfortunately.

Woodstone Alphen is a great place to hang out. It has a lovely interior, and the pizzas are always delicious!

We recently dined at Woodstone (Thursday evening), but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing once again. Upon arrival, we had to wait a very long time for someone to take our drink order. When this finally happened, we immediately ordered an appetizer (including nachos). However, the nachos were served far too dark, almost burnt. When I explained that I couldn't handle this and didn't want it that way, a discussion ensued. The waitress finally admitted that it wasn't supposed to be that way, but that she felt it was still "within the acceptable range," something that was truly shocking. What made it even more disappointing was that I had already confronted the same waitress this summer about a similar situation. Once again, staff shortages were cited as the excuse. I pointed out that in such a case, it's better to accept fewer guests to ensure quality. But that wasn't appreciated. Furthermore, after my complaint, they didn't ask if the main course was to my liking, and I had to go to the bar for an extra drink...which gave me the feeling that our table was being ignored rather than taken seriously. All in all, a disappointing experience, and certainly not what you'd expect from a restaurant like Woodstone. Hopefully, they'll take the feedback seriously, because the food and service really need improvement.

Everything was positive except for one thing: the wait for your food. It took 45 minutes for the food to arrive, and there was also a long wait between courses. The food was otherwise delicious.

We had delicious gluten-free pizzas. The staff was very informative, and the menu clearly showed the available options.

The food was quite good, with a few unique pizzas. The service was terrible. They forgot the sandwich beforehand, and the wait for drinks took about 15 minutes. Other guests went to the bar to get their own drinks. A young man who served allowed it, even though he was too busy flirting with colleagues and using his phone. A woman who served him apologized for it.

After waiting a while, we decided to leave. Just then, a waitress arrived. The second round was also slow. After an hour, someone came to ask if we wanted anything else. We certainly did. The weather was beautiful, and we were sitting outside. Normally, we would have left, but the weather stopped us. More attention to the outside and another round would be very nice.

We sat for a pizza, were very excited when we saw the pizza oven! But I wouldn’t say the same for the taste of the pizza. Very ordinary and even dull! Tough outer crust. Only thing that was nice on my pizza was the burrata. Overall, I don’t recommend for pizza.

Last Thursday evening we dined at Woodstone. It was a very pleasant experience; the pizzas were delicious, as was the dessert. The friendly and welcoming staff were certainly worth mentioning. Woodstone is a beautiful restaurant with plenty of space inside. We will definitely be back to enjoy the delicious pizzas!

August 28, 2025, we had a wonderful meal, great pizza, and a nice Jopen beer. We sat on the terrace, and it was quiet during the week, but Elcim, a very friendly woman, served us cheerfully! Excellent, and thank you! Greetings, Frans and Ria.

I love this place. Always tasty food, nice and friendly service, comfortable atmosphere with a good view. Definitely recommend.

The portions were so small. My 7-year-old daughter (who eats normally) got a child's portion of pasta with red sauce (no vegetables, no cheese) for €9, and that was literally 5 bites...really so little! When I complained, the waitress told us to order an adult portion next time. My 10-year-old son, also not a big eater, easily finished the adult portion of pasta. We were constantly asked if we wanted another drink, even though all our glasses were still more than half full, which was very annoying!

¹Of course, we started with a sandwich. The sandwich was very good. One minor complaint: the knife was incredibly dull. We also had to wait quite a while for our second round of drinks. ²Time for the main course: PIZZA 🤩 Unfortunately, we only got our cutlery after asking twice and waiting a total of 13 minutes, so the pizza had already cooled down considerably. And of course, the knife was dull again. ³ Dessert: the tiramisu was quite tasteless. Because everyone was there, the food was okay, but the price-quality ratio was excellent.

We had a delicious meal, a large group of 14, and it took a while for our pizzas to arrive. The staff rectified this by giving us a complimentary bottle of rosé. Thank you!

We were able to sit outside reasonably well. Although we were criticized for not requesting it when we made our reservation, there was actually space. I had a mediocre pizza; the first was burnt black, the second was limp. It's a shame the appetizers were forgotten, but I still had to pay. Except for a few, the service was incredibly sour. Just go there and experience it for yourself. UPDATE: I sent an email as requested in the response. No response. This way I can also make amends for the audience :(. I recently tried a calzone, again black on top, soggy dough on the bottom, and raw on the inside. The staff just yelled at me, saying I should have ordered something different and not the same as last time. By the way, the elevator to the restroom is for disabled people, according to the staff; as a heart patient, the staff let me take the stairs.

Food was good, service excellent, atmosphere nicely decorated, although there is an acoustic echo.

Delicious pizzas and top service

The food was good (we had nachos and 3 pizzas), and the staff was friendly when available. Unfortunately, service outside was poor—tables weren’t clean, it was hard to get anyone’s attention, and we waited more then 15 minutes to be able to pay. Ended up going inside to settle the bill. Needs better outdoor service.

service was a bit passive aggressive about allergies, but all in all good food. last minute more people arrived than we had reserved, but that was no problem. food was tasty and the wine was enjoyed immensely. apologies for the inconvenience.

Normally we have a good time here, but today was disappointing. I understand that it may take a little longer due to the crowds on May 5, but I was not satisfied with the service at all. The reason I say it here is because no one asked whether everything was satisfactory in the end, not even when paying. We had made a reservation, they said find a spot. Plus only the bad spots in the restaurant were left. This screams unprepared to me already. In addition, it ultimately took 20 minutes before I spoke to someone to ask if they wanted to take our order. We had nachos beforehand which were excellent. When we finished the nachos and 30 minutes later I asked if the pizzas were almost ready, I was told by an employee that I will check, but you also had a starter. As if that made the situation better.... Pizza was tasty and the atmosphere was not there because I had the feeling that we were not the only ones in the restaurant who thought that way. Not worth repeating for me after this time. Some staff really seemed like they would rather be somewhere else entirely and didn't feel like doing anything.

Bought two lunch vouchers via Social deal, the deal was poor. Small pizza with a mini brownie. Food was good, next time I will go there without a Social deal voucher. Too bad the toilet is upstairs, quite a climb.

One of the best gluten free pizzas I ever had! Always so happy to find places like these with great gluten free options. The place has a nice terrace and it is very nice inside as well. Service was also friendly. Totally recommend it

Foccacia met huisgemaakte aioli was erg lekker. Helaas duurde 1 pizza met salami en paprika meer dan 1 uur! En toen die eigelijk arriveerde was het een vrij schraal belegde pizza. Vond dat vrij teleurstellend. Ook erg jammer dat de lekkere huisgemaakte ijskoffie niet meer wordt geserveerd. Vriendelijk personeel maar helaas echt veel te lang wachten op 1 pizza.

We visited this place about two years ago and we had a very positive impression of it back then—the service was great and the pizza was incredibly delicious. We were very happy at the time and dreamed of coming back as we live far away in Amsterdam. Yesterday we decided to book a table because it was my father’s birthday and we came to celebrate it there. We made a reservation but unfortunately when we arrived there was no table for us even though our reservation was in their system. We had to wait a whole 40 minutes before being seated. I specifically noted in the reservation that it was a special day a birthday but when we were finally seated there were no even utensils or plates at the table. Our order was taken and the food was brought out but they mixed up the salad we had ordered. We just sat there waiting for utensils to be brought so we could eat. It was nearly impossible to get the attention of the waitstaff and no one seemed to notice us. When we finally got utensils we were able to eat and thankfully the food was still as delicious as before. Later however there were more disappointing moments. No one cleared our table so it remained dirty the entire time and the staff didn’t check on us at all. One of the drinks which was part of a special winter menu—a hot chocolate with Baileys—was supposed to come with whipped cream on top according to the description but it was just plain hot chocolate with no cream. Before we were seated I had approached one of the servers to remind them that it was my father’s birthday and that I would appreciate some kind of special acknowledgment for him. I had even noticed another table being celebrated with a cake and candles. However no one acknowledged my father’s birthday and there was no celebration at all which really upset me. Overall the service left a very negative impression and this particular experience was the final disappointment. I don’t think I’ll ever return to this place again. I had been waiting for two years to visit it again only to leave feeling so deeply disappointed.

came to have dinner yesterday. pizza was tasty only one. the other pizzas were not tasty and empty. pizza with a hole in the middle is some kind of joke, why does it exist. forgot to bring dessert, and brought a completely different bill for 300€. service is of course lame, to put it mildly.

It's been a long time since we've had dinner with our family. We all ordered a pizza and some bread in advance. Good food and for an affordable price. We will definitely go here again.

3.50 for latte is already on the high side. Then also 5.50 for a cold factory apple pie and a euro for a cubic centimeter of whipped cream. And then also put the coffee and apple pie in the middle of the table instead of on the side where I sit. My wife's tea was put on her side. When paying I said something about the whipped cream, but there was no response. 10 Euro lighter for a coffee with apple pie. Disrespectful service and a complete rip off.

Excellent Italian restaurant. I highly recommend the thin pizza. There were some interesting choices and the traditional flavors were a bit limited. For that you have to go to the 'normal pizzeria'. I quite liked it and would recommend this restaurant!

Very good, but what a shame that smoking is allowed on the terrace. There are already restaurants in Alphen that no longer allow this and that is good because you enjoy your food much more. Come on, Woodstone management, no longer allow smoking and focus on the food

Nice Father's Day location for a delicious pizza. When the place is full, there is a lot of noise. Acoustics could be better. Hospitable staff makes up for a lot!

I was very impressed with this restaurant. We had a reservation at 19:00 and needed to leave by 20:00 to attend a show at the nearby theater. The staff were very friendly, efficient and attentive to our situation. We were able to order a salad, 2 appetizers and a pizza. Our food came quickly and we had ample time to enjoy it. The quality of all of the food was very good, quality ingredients, a very generous size of the salad and delicious pizza cooked in the big oven that was nice to view while dining. I would recommend this restaurant and be happy to eat there again.

Absolutely great! Staff is very nice with children. Our daughter was allowed to make her own ice cream behind the bar and was allowed to “help with a tray”. Big ten!

This time a negative experience. After 25 minutes we were able to flag down a waitress so we could get something to drink. 20 minutes later we got it. We ordered a glass of wine with the pizza and after finishing the pizza we still did not receive any wine. Ordered wine and ordered coffee, no excuse. When paying, the sandwich was removed as compensation. We were there for a total of 2.5 hours. We had to wait so long for sandwich, pizza and coffee.

Here you can get a good pizza and pasta. Taking a to share as a starter is highly recommended. Lots of variety in pizza with a slightly different bite, which also makes it attractive and inviting to go again.

Unfortunately I didn't enjoy the food, the base of the pizza was very bad. Pasta was also not very tasty with green pasta. Very expensive prices compared to other pizza/pasta restaurants. The service was very young.

Erg rijk belegd waardoor het midden topzwaar en zompig wordt. Sowieso is het deeg erg gewoontjes, terwijl je daar juist onderscheidend mee kan zijn. Jammer. I thought it was a big ^eating shed^. You sit very close together and it is noisy. The pasta was okay, but not extraordinary.

Beautiful place, spacious, with cheerful and friendly service. It's nice that there is a good choice for people with a gluten allergy. I thought it was a pity that the carpaccio was very 'bare'. Meat, some lettuce, some cheese and a tiny bit of dressing and capers. I found it unimaginative and unfortunately there was little taste in it. Pity. I had the pasta with truffle. I thought he was lame. Not much truffle flavor, missing some garlic or something. Quantity could be a little more. The other guests' pizzas looked and tasted good.

I judge a pizza place based on the art of making a good pizza Margherita. Woodstone completely falls through the cracks in this regard. Woodstone can only make a pizza tasty with 10 toppings. The base is tasteless, tomato sauce evaporated and of poor quality, and cheese burnt. Woodstone, first learn to bake a tasty Margherita normally, and then throw 10 toppings on it.

Place is beautiful and cosy! Although it was a Friday night and packed, they managed to find us a table. We had bruschetta, chicken salad, and lasagna, and everything was delicious! Employees were all super nice, recommend to anyone for a fine dining experience.

Enjoyed the Pizzaaaa's and really enjoyed the atmosphere. The cappuccino is also really delicious. The ladies who make the dishes are top notch, especially Larissa, you can really taste it when she bakes the pizzas. She puts a lot of love into it and you can taste it!!!! Had lunch here and had ciabatta carpaccio. The bun was very small and very hard. There was a little bit of pesto dressing on it and a lot of balsamic vinegar. Tip: add a little more pesto dressing and leave out the balsamic vinegar (this was very overpowering). I think the price for this sandwich is really too high. Service was okay.

The menu was a little bit smaller than I expected, but they have very interesting options for the pizzas so, I still almost couldn't decide what to eat. The service was fast easy and super kind. The price is fair and the terrace is really lovely. If I could give more than five stars, I definitely would.

Great meal, but this is certainly not a lasting memory. The food is okay, but next time I will definitely go to a pizzeria again. What makes the 3 stars is that we made a reservation at 7 p.m., but only received our main course (pizzas) at 8:20 p.m. (after our starter). That's really too long for something that isn't complicated. And the thought of having a drink in between did not arise. Shame..

It was a great evening (farewell to a colleague) with excellent pizza. Service took a bit long as the pizzas are freshly made. Nice staff who appreciate a joke despite the crowds. Received an apology after a free beer shower (good for my hair). So all in all, I had a nice evening.

Large restaurant. Got a nice spot by the window. Started with a beer and a glass of white wine. Appetizer 2x fine. Then we had to wait quite a long time for the main course. 2 very tasty pizzas. For dessert 2 pieces of cake. Was nicely decorated for our 40th wedding anniversary. Had 2 more beers in between. But now it comes. The bill. €90.65. That is quite expensive for one admittedly luxurious pizzaria. But like so many things nowadays, it is the drink price that has to make up for it for the restaurant and why the customer will drop out. €6.25 for a small glass of non-special white wine and €4.95 for a bottle of beer 33cl. In summary, we had a nice meal, but we won't be back here again.

What a good pizza place this is! Pasta selection could be bigger in my opinion. Choice of pizzas is excellent. Very nice is the pizza where the middle has been removed and replaced with a salad. How nice is that. Recommended.

Possibly the best pizzas I've eaten. Plays the "other one". Great pizzaria from Alphen on the menu. Tasty, large portions and good, quick service. Unfortunately, dessert was no longer suitable, so we opted for it. Nothing but praise!

There were 3 tables in front of the window but we could not taken them as they said it was reserved BUT we had our dinner and left and nobody used that tables! Strange that 2 reservations exactly for those tables were cancelled! The meatballs - Joke - please don’t order them! 4 pieces almost burned and with almost no sauce! I complainted and did not even got a sorry! Never again
