The food here is absolutely DELICIOUS!! The spicy version isn't overly spicy, but it's just right. The food is also ready super fast, usually within 5 minutes. Definitely recommended!!

The portions are very large, delicious, and halal. Our table hadn't been cleaned yet, but it wasn't very dirty either. Average price per person: 18 euros.

This place hidden a bit upstairs is amazing. Real homemade hand pulled noodles. No joke. Dude was hand pulling them behind the counter. A bit more of a self serve/order at the counter rather than full table service type deal, but incredible food and comfortable enough for dine in with views of the tram and singel outside. We eat Asian food very, very often, and I've also eaten in China, Taiwan, Thailand, and Malaysia. This noodle soup is absolutely top-notch! The ordering system at the self-service kiosk takes some getting used to and is probably better suited to those under 30, but that's not a problem. The atmosphere is typical of a fast-food joint, which is quite common even in better establishments in Asia! Anyone who complains about things like bone fragments in the meat shouldn't be going to an authentic Asian restaurant! We were very satisfied and delighted!

Good food, but almost never any free seating. The restaurant could have been two or three times larger for the number of people who want to eat there.

I come to Rotterdam about three times a year, and every single time I make sure to visit this restaurant. I always order the same dish and it’s delicious every time. Nothing to complain about, I can totally recommend this place! You’ll see lots of tourists, but also families and locals eating here. The only thing they could improve is the seating: it’s really tight, and sometimes you can’t even use all the chairs at your own table because the neighboring tables are so close. But the food is great, and the staff is super friendly too.

The noodles were quite delicious. They gave us a side dish and a tea egg, and we ordered another side dish. It was just the right amount for one person. The only downside was that the restaurant was too cold; it felt like they didn't have heating or air conditioning at all.

I was so excited about my food and it looked amazing when i got it but sadly there was a hair in my food. It was my first time coming here and i was so excited. But i was shy and i didnt want to seam rude so i didnt tell the workers that i found the hair.. i still ate it but i just feel like the hygiene isnt that good there

Advertising with “handpulled noodles” seems nowadays a marketing line on average to lure customers into many newly opend Chinese deli’s and have them thnking that they are getting handcrafted noodles when Infact most it , is from the Chinese wholesale market were it’s all factory made and packaged for store sale . Yellow river is different if you have been to China , Taiwan , South-Korea , Japan , Vietnam or Thailand since early 80’s like me , and have eaten in all various regions it’s local dishes with meat or noodles . Tonight I ordered for dinner trough their “McDonalds” pillar a mincedmeat with noodles and a thick noodlesoup with pork . Drinks ? Coca-Cola . The mincedmeat with noodles was tasty and good , so good I ordered a takeaway also for home . The thick noodlesoup was bad . The broth , already for many hours in a pan boiling with noodles in it , was way to salty and far from smooth as one expects from a good broth . The thick noodles were very much tough wich some would defend as chewy , wich this was not ! Overcooked - happens if it soaks too long into a broth - and tough in the end . Dissapointment and i left it untouched after 1 bite . Price in total ? € 35,- ! (minus takeaway order) Hefty price ! Would I come back ? If i was in the neighbourhood “yes” for it’s mincedmeat with noodles . For it’s “specialis” LanZou called noodles ; “No!” .

Noodles are amazing, so much flavor en texture. Its my go to spot for noodles when im in Rotterdam. Everything is halal and the staff is nice. Orders get out quick. Only the toilets need some change but the foods great!

Delicious, and big portions enough for two meals

The food was good, but unfortunately, we had a very unpleasant experience. There were four of us, and we were only allowed four eggs and four small salads. The woman in the headscarf started yelling loudly because I wasn't aware of the one-egg, one-salad policy. Everyone in the restaurant looked at us as if we were stealing cucumber salad. We were deeply embarrassed. We had to pay extra for this, which I don't mind, but later we also discovered that she had robbed us of three euros. We discovered that we had paid €3 each for four extra salads (€12 total), but we only had three too many. When we confronted the woman about this, we got our €3 back, but unfortunately, she couldn't do it properly and threw the coins over the counter. In short, good food, but remember: ONE EGG AND ONE SALAD! Otherwise, you'll unfortunately be labeled a thief! I'm very sad.

Super tasty food and friendly person

One of the only halal Chinese noodles restaurant I know. The noodles are of the best quality and hand pulled. The broth is amazing and the star of the show. Best time to visit is during the cold and keep warm. Friendly service and an absolute gem due to the price and quality you get. I will always come back whenever I visit Rotterdam.

I went for dinner with friends and we had a fantastic experience. Despite the crowd, the staff was very attentive, and we were allowed to film the chef pulling the noodles. The soup was perfectly balanced and had plenty of meat in it. The stir-fried noodles with minced meat are also very good. And you can also add a free salad.

We all loved the quality of our food! 4 of us ordered different noodles and each were happy with our own. They lack vegetarian options, but the service is quick (seafood took longer). I also love that we can pick our own pickled veggies afterwards. I'd definitely go back!

Don't let the simple ambiance turn you away, as the food is incredible! Felt very authentic, unique Chinese flavors in the broths, that you don't often come across in Holland. I love this place, no bs just focus on good food and the rest doesn't matter. Also great for delivery !

They gave me someone else’s order, and when I went back to let them know, the lady who works there scolded me and yelled, “Why did you take it? It’s not yours!” I explained that another employee told me it was mine (which made me feel like I was ratting him out). Then she turned to him and started yelling at him too. She just kept screaming. I felt soooooo awkward I couldn’t even eat my food I only took two bites. I basically wasted €16.50. I’m never coming back, and I definitely won’t be recommending this place to anyone.

The soup was good and I have to try another type of noodles because what I ordered was too soft. Ordering was very easy tho. You get an included salad or egg with one order of noodles.

I only liked the kimchi. My girlfriend and I ordered noodles. The meat was so hard and chewy that it was in the noodles that we could barely sink our teeth into it. The kimchi, however, was absolutely delicious. Is a soy egg supposed to be completely gray inside?... I didn't eat it. As the comments already say, no one speaks Dutch, so only if you're Chinese can you communicate. You can order even, but we didn't really have any experience. So for us, it was a mediocre experience. Perhaps another dish there tastes better. But we both didn't like it. Normally, you always eat the meat when you're full, but this meat wasn't it. It's also a pretty boring restaurant, not very aesthetically pleasing.

Ordered Lanzhou ramen and beef dumplings. Delicious. The soup was a bit salty and the noodles could be a bit harder. I ordered wide noodles. The side dishes were delicious.

Nothing much special, we ordered the best seller one calls Lanzhou Noodle but it taste like Vietnamese Pho but can not compare. And some of my friends order spicy one but just like eating chili with full of oil. This is not a tasty food for us, but the hand-pulled noodles seems nice.

We live in Eindhoven but we have been visiting this place for around 10 times in the past 3 years. Love the texture of the hand-pulled noodle and the soup. At the first few times, it was a bit salty but later they have modified to a good level. We always brought our boy with us and he also liked the noodle a lot. The owner was friendly enough that she often put extra noodle in the if she saw us with a little boy. Highly recommended!

Never been treated so rudely. My partner placed our order of two bowls of a ramen dish where you could have a small salad and one egg with each bowl. Since she was so attentive to also serve me, she was treated very unfairly. In a raised voice, she was told very unfriendly that she had to pay more, she tried to explain that she also took for me but this was not listened to. On the other hand, this lovely lady only became more unfriendly and started shouting louder and louder. Really so incredibly rude, a shame because the food was quite good, but I advise everyone not to eat here because the service is well below par. After reading all the reviews, I see that the rude attitude of this woman is a systematic problem. Other customers have even gone so far as to take a picture of her 🥲. You would think that dysfunctional staff who chase customers away should be a reason to take action.

Best Chinese restaurant in Rotterdam

Upon arrival it was not clear whether you could sit down or whether you had to order via the screen. Once we ordered via the screen, we also had to get the food and drinks ourselves. The lady behind the counter was rude and customer friendliness was lacking, unfortunately no one spoke Dutch, which did not improve communication. Once we started eating, it was not disappointing except for the dumplings, which came from the freezer and were of poor quality compared to the hand pulled noodles. Food a 5/10. Prepare yourself for the toilets… The men's toilet was fabricated (see photos), so the ladies' toilet was completely soaked with piss. I even slipped when I tried to get out of the toilet. Expected a lot but left extremely disappointed.

Food was very tasty, authentic and prepared super quickly. Service is not like “Western” restaurants, there is not someone to greet you at the door and someone to take your order at your table. You are expected to place your order at the kitchen, pick it up and pay immediately. It's different but very efficient. The atmosphere in the shop is very pleasant.

Does Liangpi stay overnight? It tasted terrible and my stomach felt uncomfortable after eating it. It hurt for a long time. I’m really sad that it’s not as delicious as before!

Super fast service, just a bit impersonal and chaotic. This is more than made up for by the delicious dishes. Quite simple and therefore a bit on the expensive side, but large portions and perfect taste. Can't wait to try another dish soon.

Portions here are very generous, you’ll likely leave full or even with leftovers. A great feature is the the self service station, letting you add salad and boiled egg to your liking. Chilli paste is provided right on the table. The hand pulled noodles are fresh and chewy, and the broth is rich and comforting. For kids, it’s best to share a bowl, it’s too big for one little stomach. Service is impressively fast, we were served in under 5 minutes. You order at a touchscreen station where you can also choose your preferred noodle thickness. Prices are mid-range and fair for the quality and portion size. The restaurant is located on the first floor, so it’s not accessible by wheelchair. There’s a clean toilet available downstairs. We visited during dinner hours (around 6–7 pm) and found plenty of tables, so no reservation needed. Overall, we were very satisfied! A quick, hearty, and flavorful meal, highly recommended for noodle lovers.

Two of us went to eat. Each plate includes a hard-boiled egg and a small plate of salad. I took two and when I went to get the food the waitress told me that I had to pay for two salads and two eggs because I had taken four. I told her no, I only took two and she insisted that I had to pay for two more salads and two more eggs. He neither wanted to listen to me nor gave room for doubt. I had to bring the tray from the back table to show her that it only had two salads and two eggs. She made me feel like she was trying to steal from them when in reality she was getting confused. He didn't apologize or anything when he realized it. I think someone facing the public has to be more diplomatic. We ate some hand-pulled noodles and others cut with a knife. It was fine, nothing more. It didn't seem cheap to me either. I wouldn't go back.

Traditional hand made noodles, good taste

The service is very poor, the attitude is very bad, and it's inconsiderate. You have to use a magnifying glass to find the beef. It is no different from clear soup noodles and the taste is very bad. Not worth even one star! Should give negative points!

I have been to the location in Rotterdam and Amsterdam, and both times it was lovely. The noodles were delicious, well-portioned, and well-seasoned. This restaurant operates entirely on a self-service basis: you place your order via a machine, grab your own side dishes, pick up your food at the counter once it's ready, and return your plates and cutlery to the tray return station after your meal. It's an efficient and independent way of dining, with everything in your hands. The employees are kind and polite.

The traditional beef noodles are so good. We ordered 2 bowls of spicy and one without. Every bowl of noodles comes with one egg and a salad dish. Drop one star as I find the broth a litter too salty. Noodles are served fast. Everything is self-service.

Food tastes good, but is relatively expensive for the service and atmosphere. Tables are too close together so you sit back to back. Staff is not very friendly. More than half of our party became ill that same evening, but I will not comment on whether this was directly due to the restaurant.

I ordered a bowl of big plate chicken thick noodles (3mm). The thick noodles were very hard, tasted undercooked, and the noodles were not very fresh. We told the boss lady that the noodles were too hard to eat as soon as we took a bite, but she didn't taste it and just said that we ordered the hard noodles ourselves. I understand that everyone has different tastes, but thick noodles and noodles that are so hard that you can't bite them are two different things after all. I was looking forward to this meal, but this experience was really disappointing

I am a person who is very skeptical with restaurants saying “handpulled noodles”. However, this restaurant really had fresh handpulled noodles, you could easily see the chef pull the noodles. They also tasted really good they didn’t just taste like normal noodles, it had something extra in it. I ordered the tradition beef noodles, I had it extra spicy, that really was a nice hot sensation. It didn’t burn my mouth it basically was a nice sear (spicy at the back of the throat). The service was pretty quick! You order your food on a screen, there is no one there to help or greet you when you enter. The atmosphere was giving cafeteria with the big tables in the middle and lack luster decorations. It was a bit confusing for me how to navigate the room. The dining room also had a funky smell to it (on that specific day). But overall the food was really good and I would definitely recommend this place!

I wasn’t expecting to find a Lanzhou noodle place in Rotterdam, much less one that makes noodles this good! You order at a kiosk and then grab your noodles when your number is called, the noodles come with a salad or tea egg that you can grab yourself. The noodles had an elasticity that you’d expect from hand pulled noodles and the soup base was very light and refreshing! I’d highly recommend checking out this spot if you’re in Rotterdam’s Chinatown.
