Good food, lots of options too. Having it delivered took a very long time, so I wouldn't do that again, but it's a nice little place to sit.

Don't order, because you get a call asking if you want to pick it up or the order will be cancelled. I chose to cancel and have now been waiting for a refund for well over a week and a half. Poor service and very disappointing.

Terrible food. Recently ordered all sorts of things for takeout, various dishes, and I have truly never eaten so badly. None of it was tasty and it was extremely disappointing. Way too expensive for what you get. Never again for me, in any case.

Had delicious Indian food at 91 Spices last night! The food was incredibly flavorful and wonderfully spiced. The service was also super friendly and welcoming. A wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. Definitely recommended if you love Indian food!

We had a delicious meal at 91 Spices. The starters were top-notch: samosas and tandoori chicken. We also had the tandoori mixed grill and butter chicken, which were delicious too! Unfortunately, they forgot to bring the double espresso we had ordered. That was the only downside; otherwise, we had a great evening!

Great food, but the delivery is awful. I have been ordering there for years and as a standard they deliver 30 - 60 minutes too late. Yesterday I ordered for 16:30, at 16:40 I got a call from the restautant that the food will arrive at 18:00. Eventually the delivery guy came at 19:00. 2,5 hours too late!!! Multiple times I had situations when they just cancel and don't deliver at all. As much as I like the food, I am going to stop ordering there. The headache with the delivery is not worth it.

Our experience at 91 Spices was only amazing because of Sona! She was amazing!! The restaurant was good but not really traditional.

The food tasted very good. The service was okay. We ate as a couple.

We booked via Social Deal for 5:00 PM. At 5:15 PM, the doors were still closed, and the Social Deal employee could not reach us by phone. There was also a sign on the door that read “closed.” The website also stated that they were supposed to be open. This was especially disappointing because we had just a little time to go out for dinner together without our little one.

Beautiful restaurant in a prime location. Good service via a tablet on the table to order drinks and food. Friendly staff; however, you miss a bit of connection with the staff because you don't order by phone. The food is very flavorful; starter portions are considerably larger than the main course portions, which in my opinion were on the small side, and when you compare the quantity to the price, it is not entirely in proportion. Fortunately, the taste makes up for a lot, as there is absolutely nothing to complain about there! All in all, a high-quality restaurant, but there is still room for improvement.

Nice restaurant, but unfortunately not an absolute guest experience. After we asked a question about a dinner deal, we were met with an attitude from a lady who works there. And no greeting either, even after we initiated it upon leaving. She was so cheerful... All in all, the food was tasty!

Delicious and very generous take-away option near the old harbour. The garlic naan is amazingly good, just as the Paneer curry!

Update: after calling 2 more times and mentioning this review, I had to create a payment request to finally get my money back. It's a shame things turned out this way, because the food here is good. Order here if you do NOT want to receive your food and do NOT want to get your money back. Very poor delivery service and refund policy. I ordered food via their website for delivery. I was called an hour before delivery time asking if I wanted to pick it up myself. This wasn't possible, then they said they would call me back 5 minutes later, which turned into half an hour. They said they could only deliver the food an hour and a half later. That didn't work for me due to other appointments. As a result, the order was cancelled. I have been waiting for 2.5 weeks to get my money back. I called the restaurant 7 times; the first time I was told it would take 3 working days, yesterday I was told that they were going to pass it on. I emailed 10 times (as was recommended over the phone), received a response once saying it was being taken care of, but 5 days later, still nothing. I will never order again. Too bad..

Very tasty food, plenty of choice, customer-friendly, and it is a nice restaurant with enough space. We ate here for the second time today. We have ordered takeout quite often before, though. We are big eaters, but fortunately, you get large portions.

What i ordered: Samosas, chicken sheekh kebab, paneer makhani, a variety of naan, chicken korma, rice. Pros: the samosas were okay, not overwhelming but fine. The waiting staff was very sweet and cooperative. Cons: The tables are so close together, there's no space to sit unless you move them around yourself. The booths are dirty. The food.. 😔 what an ironic name for a restaurant that has no command over spices. I couldn't believe how bad the curries were. The paneer makhani was made using a sweet tomato base, but seemingly no other spices so it tasted nothing like Indian food. No cumin in sight, no garlic, nothing. You only taste the tomato. The paneer itself was barely existent. The rice, to my astonishment, was not even basmati. They serve the easy-cook, long-grained, firm rice that is commonly used in Europe. Considering the owners seemed to be Indian, I am shocked by the choices they have made. Honestly.. it's just bad. I've lived in India and in different parts of Europe and I've never had such disappointing Indian food before. I'd advise skipping.

The lamb meat was mediocre (previous time the lamb was better: tender meat), the sauce was good, the cheese naan was good. the music is too loud in the restaurant, there is not enough light and hygiene in the ladies' toilets.

After a mistake with a delivery during snow in February, I received a refund and the company promised to make amends. I ordered today and they certainly made it right. The food is always good here!

We recently hosted a party here for 50 people. The atmosphere and service were excellent, and the food was delicious too. There were many different dishes that were all very flavorful. Highly recommended!

If you have time to wait half an hour for a takeaway order, this could be a good place for you... but the food isn't warm anymore when you get home.

Fine but: the starter and main course were almost the same. Ordering everything via a tablet isn't really my thing unless you're sitting on a full terrace, but the outdoor terrace was closed. Oh well, it was nice and good inside, but it isn't very personal. There were 8 of us via Social Deal; in total, we spent €350. and that is perhaps reasonable, but it is not cheap.

We visited 91Spices with a group, which in hindsight may have been less of a dinner reservation and more of a stress test for the entire operation. Unfortunately, the operation did not pass. It did, however, provide entertainment, mostly in the form of wondering whether our food had joined a witness protection program. Ay ay ay. The service was confused, slow, and had the graceful coordination of a circus where nobody knows who booked the tent. Orders vanished into the kitchen fog, dishes arrived in random diplomatic missions, and we had to ask several times where the rest of the food was. At some point, it stopped being dinner and became an archaeological expedition for missing naan. The sad part is that the food probably would have had a fighting chance if it had arrived faster, hotter, and in an order that suggested human involvement. Honestly, I suspect it might have come out quicker, tastier, and warmer from my own kitchen — and that is not because of my great cooking skills. My cooking has the emotional range of boiled socks. Maybe they were having a bad night. Maybe groups cause the system to fold like a cheap camping chair. Either way, our experience was more chaos than curry. Memorable, yes. For the right reasons, absolutely not.

Poor service with staff who don't speak Dutch. Unfriendly. Except for a new blonde girl. On Saturday night at 10 pm you already have to order your last drink; the staff is already going home by then, while we hadn't even received our dessert yet. Very noisy. It isn't what it used to be. Food not very special but tasty.

We have eaten at 91Spices several times and, overall, we have had a good experience. The atmosphere is cozy and feels pleasant, making it a nice place to sit. The food is usually tasty and the prices are reasonable in relation to what you get. The service is also positive: we were served a few times by really friendly and attentive staff, which certainly contributes to the experience. What we did notice, however, is that the quality of the food is not always consistent. We ordered the same dish several times; one time it was really good, while another time it was a bit disappointing. That makes it slightly less predictable. Tip: it would be nice if a kids' menu were introduced. That would make the restaurant even more accessible and attractive for families. All in all, a nice place we enjoy visiting, but a bit more consistency in the kitchen would make it truly top-notch.

Walked in. And a skinny girl with attitude came up and asked if we had reservations. No I said . She flicked her hair. Grabbed a phone and walked off . Not a word to us. A few mins later she said something to one of the waiters and he came up and said you have a table only for one hour. We accepted as we had just arrived to Rotterdam and had been a long day.. no gluten free menu.. and when asked if the waiter can ask the chef. He said he can’t do that.. we ordered had our meal and left. When we walked in there was tables empty everywhere .. when we left there was still a lot of tables empty..

We had a really delicious meal; this is highly recommended for the food. Unfortunately, it was a big letdown for the staff, at least today. Very easily accessible by public transport.

I ordered here at 4:30 PM for the evening, at 6:25 PM, and still no food at 7:00 PM. So I called them and was told that Thuisbezorgd is closed today. They closed it too late because I had already ordered. And then not even an apology or offering anything. We have been waiting for our food for hours!!!! This is really unacceptable. Bad business. I used to come to the restaurant often, but I won't be coming back. Terrible service!!

The food is tasty and you get just the right amount. The naan was charged twice and the drinks took far too long. The tablet system is not really an improvement, but rather a delay. As a result, the naan was charged and billed twice (x5)!! We only found this out when we got home. Very annoying. The lady at reception was friendly, but she was the only one. Lots of sighing and little service from the waitresses. A shame, because it is a nice place with good food.

It was good food but not exceptional, the restaurant is very large and therefore very noisy. The photos suggest that it might be a somewhat cozy and quiet place, but it's quite the opposite. The welcome was very cold and the service was equally so; there was no friendly communication, nor any smiles from the waiters. Prices are on.

Hi, We truly wanted to enjoy our evening with our team, but unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing. Although the food itself had good flavors, but cooled down quit quick as it was freezing cold in the restaurant... We literally ended up eating cold curries, which is unacceptable for a restaurant experience. When we raised this, we were told it was because guests kept the door open. Regardless of the reason, this completely ruined the atmosphere and our enjoyment of the meal. To make matters worse, we were explicitly promised a 30% discount because we reserved well in advance, yet this was never applied. Overall, this was a very poor and frustrating experience, and far from what we expected.

The food is super nice, but it comes kind cold… So it’s difficult to really enjoy it. Plus, we ordered water but they served us tap water in a bottle of sparkling water (we never asked for tap water or sparkling water), and they charged us 4.70€ for tap water!!!!

I picked up a rice table for two, which was a Social Deal. The food was very tasty. The price through Social Deal was good, but I would normally consider the price a bit high for what I got.

Personally, I miss the interaction between waitstaff and customers because there's a tablet on the table for ordering, which is certainly efficient, but can also be confusing. Normally, you order your starter and main course at the same time, and the main course is brought out after the starter plates have been cleared. But this time, the main course was brought out while the starter plates were still there. I find it sloppy. The food itself was, of course, delicious, and the atmosphere was also good.

91 Spices is always a hit, whether it's delivered or enjoyed in-house. The portions are generous, and I always have leftovers.

It was incredibly cold inside. We sat inside with our coats on. She told us the heating was on and everything was fine. Icicles were practically hanging from our noses. The food was very mediocre. The chicken masala wasn't even particularly seasoned. The garlic naan lacked flavor, or just the garlic. And for dessert, we had the brownie, but it was completely dried out.

I thought the food was good. The service was good and the atmosphere was pleasant as well.

This is my first time leaving a bad review, but unfortunately I feel like I have to do it. Great experience when entering, forthcoming and friendly staff member 5/5 Afterwards, it felt like a fast food place, only one with restaurant prices. Ordered through a tablet (in turns as you only have one). Food was placed without any interaction on the table (without even asking who ordered what). The curries were okay, but were clearly not cooked recently as they were cold after 5 minutes. No one came during the entire evening, not to take away empty dishes, not to check if everything is okay, no interaction at all. If I go to a restaurant, especially one in this price category, I would expect some form of service. But I guess you could have ordered all services through the tablet :)

I visited this restaurant during a business trip to the Netherlands with my Korean colleagues. I suggested this Indian restaurant because it was close to our hotel and had a nice atmosphere and vibe. However, ordering was only possible through an electronic tablet, with no option to explain preferences properly. As an Indian, I enjoy spicy food—not “European spicy”—so I specifically requested Indian spicy Chana Masala. Unfortunately, the dish was extremely spicy, to the point where it was inedible. It felt excessive rather than flavorful. I couldn’t finish the meal and had to leave it untouched, resulting in a waste of €25. I then had to eat again at another nearby restaurant. The restaurant was very crowded, and the staff seemed overwhelmed. When I paid and mentioned the issue, the staff member appeared embarrassed but couldn’t do much at that moment. Tip to the owner: “Indian spicy” does not mean adding all available spices in house. Food should be cooked according to the customer’s request. Overly spicy food can negatively affect a customer’s health. Overall, I am very disappointed with the food. Never again..!!

The food was absolutely delicious! It was very busy, but despite that, the service was good. We had to wait a bit longer, but given the crowd, that was understandable. My only complaint was that we didn't get papadum. I asked for it, and the staff member said she'd forgotten and would bring it, but in the end, that didn't happen. Otherwise, it was a pleasant experience, and the food was definitely delicious.

A last-minute birthday party for 35 people. We had to order food just a few hours beforehand. I called 91spices, the operator took my number, and I think the owner or another manager called me back. They were very helpful in getting something delicious delivered to my guests within a few hours. The food was good; there was more than enough for everyone. And the service, both thoughtful and delivered, is truly wonderful. We've been customers of this restaurant for several years now. We often order delivery, but we used to eat there occasionally. Always good experiences!

I'm never going back here. We initially waited 30 minutes for our menu and drinks. This didn't happen, so we left.

We had a reservation. We were shown to our table after 15 minutes. We then asked for service twice. After waiting for 30 minutes, there was no response from the staff. What a disappointment this restaurant was. We walked out. And the restaurant didn't notice this either. We will NEVER go there again. Worthless. So, a review about the food...? No idea. Because they don't serve!

I've eaten 91 Spices many times before, and the food is so delicious. I never thought I'd be so disappointed with the delivery this Christmas. We waited almost two hours for our order, which arrived completely cold. I'd called to ask where my food was; they said they'd call back, but that call didn't arrive either. The delivery driver blamed the restaurant for the delay. I called the restaurant again to complain, of course. They blamed the delivery driver again, asking if I could call you back and arrange compensation. I never received a call back for that either. I paid €75, but it wasn't worth it. It ruined our Christmas spirit. We couldn't eat until 9:30 PM. The food is delicious, but the organization and service are terrible!

It isn’t often that I’d leave a bad review but…We had a really bad experience last night at this restaurant. The service was abysmal, from the second we walked in and had to wait for over 5minutes before anyone one of the many wait staff actually acknowledged us stood in the doorway waiting to be seated. We ordered drinks and after 10minutes we were told that they what we ordered wasn’t available and we should order something else. We were the only table that weren’t offered poppadoms and when we asked for some, the waitress told us she was only for the bar and we would have to ask someone else. Then we asked a second waitress who brought us 1 poppadom each and we had to ask if there were any dips. We ordered starters and after an hour of waiting and having to ask where our food was, our main was then served (the starters never came). We ordered a second drink and that never came. The food was ok, but I wouldn’t go back for it. Shocking service from a restaurant that is well presented, we were really looking forward to a nice experience…but it was terrible. I asked who the manager was and I was told they don’t have one. I guess that explains why the service was terrible. I don’t think I’ve been that disappointed with a restaurant experience in many years

Terrible. Delivery was scheduled for 6:00 PM before they opened, and the food didn't arrive until 7:15 PM. I called three times to ask where my food was, "on its way," of course. Once it arrives, it's cold!!! When I call, they hang up on me several times🤬 Even though the restaurant is so good...

We've had a very pleasant experience! Booked through Social Deal and we've enjoyed it very much. Contruary to other reviews, our food came through super fast. The service was good with very friendly and thoughtful waitresses. The portions are great! The naan was a bit too flat for my liking, but the Biryani and Butter Chicken were fantastic.

Went on Christmas Day, the food was good. The temperature was very cold and the toilets were dirty. There was no toilet paper on the floor.

I don't write a review lightly, but this one is absolutely worth it. Last Saturday evening, I went; I had a proper reservation for 6:30 PM. Upon arrival, I still had to wait 15 minutes due to a "staff shortage." In the end, I waited a total of 53 minutes for my food. I asked for service three times, but no one helped me. I ended up getting up three times myself to find staff and ask where my food was. All in all: NEVER AGAIN. Terrible service, and the food was extremely disappointing.

Nice restaurant. When it's very busy, you notice it takes (too) long to get your drink. The starters were lukewarm, which I found a real shame. Personally, I would keep reservations for large groups separate from the smaller tables. There's plenty of room for them, and you won't be bothered by the noise such a group apparently always has to make. A big plus: they ask you if there's any leftover food if you want to take it home. You get neatly packaged containers and a paper bag to put it in. Definitely worth going back, but not on a Saturday. I went here with a Social Deal, by the way. The price I quote is without.

The food was delicious, and the interior is beautiful. The tablet is handy. The friendly staff were happy to assist us. The portions are quite large, though, so the takeout bags are definitely necessary.

We picked up a large order for a birthday, but the quality was unfortunately very disappointing. Some of the naan breads were so burnt that we even had to throw a few away—which is absolutely unacceptable, especially considering the price. The lamb was tough, dry, and flavorless, and even the butter chicken tasted different than usual. Fortunately, the rest of the dishes were fine. What made it even more disappointing was that several guests were bothered by the food. We're not used to this from 91 Spices, where we've had good meals before. Hopefully, this will be taken seriously.

Requested for a sparkler on reservation. They never bothered to check and act. Pitiful. The food was decent. The atmosphere a little noisy for my liking. Pressing “service” on the tablet means you need to call the waiters personally 😂.

A very nice restaurant. Delicious food, everything top-notch. The only minor drawback was a simple matter: I asked for an invoice, and it became a huge problem because the waiter couldn't do it. But other than that, it's worth the effort just to try the delicious food.

What a dump this is, it's truly unbelievable that people go here. The beer is lukewarm, the draft beer is bad, the staff doesn't know what they're talking about or doesn't speak Dutch or barely any English. It's truly disgusting. Please, close your doors or invite Gordon Ramsey.

We had a great meal through Social Deal. The food was delicious, including the mixed grill and lamb curry. It was early in the evening and still nice and quiet. We didn't have to wait long for our food. The staff were friendly.

Visiting Rotterdam on a cruise, with a party of four we dined at 91 Spices. We all experienced excellent food, terrific service, great atmosphere and good value. It was only after I returned to the ship I realised I had left my bag. I contacted the restaurant by email and arranged with the owner to collect it the following day, despite the restaurant not opening being Monday. Special thanks to Mohamed for making this possible, he went above and beyond. I will definitely visit this fantastic restaurant on my next visit to Rotterdam.

The food was more or less okay, but we felt we had to hurry because within five minutes, we were asked three times if we had ordered yet, even though the kitchen was still open for another half hour. When we confronted them about this, the staff started arguing very loudly and in broken Dutch. It was an embarrassing situation. The dish arrived fairly quickly, but it turned out to be the wrong one. Another argument. Then I was done with it and left. I wouldn't go back. Besides, I've never seen such a dirty toilet before.

We order from here regularly, but the service is deteriorating. We've had to wait over an hour and a half for our food several times. While we're waiting, it's almost impossible to reach anyone or check the status of our order. Our last order was extremely long, and when it finally arrived, it was cold due to the late delivery. It's a shame, but we won't be ordering from here again this way.

Delivery is on average 90 minutes late. When phoning to enquire, you are lucky if someone answers the phone. If they do answer, you are put on hold indefinitely. Do not order from here if you expect to eat at a planned time.

Overpriced menu without any premium feeling, lamb had no flavor but the sauce was good. The atmosphere doesn't commit to anything. Service was lacking, the electronic ordering system doesn't seem to be working great. I don't recommend in its current state.

The food was quite disappointing and didn’t resemble authentic Indian cuisine. The Tandoori Paneer lacked flavour and the vegetable curry was overly sweet. The samosa and homemade kulfi were okay, but nothing remarkable. Additionally, the service was noticeably slow. Overall, not a very enjoyable dining experience.

Hmmm, I think we picked a bad day. It smelled wonderful upon entering, which was great. But then it quickly started to deteriorate. The man who greeted us and showed us to the place was very chaotic and actually unfriendly. It's also not entirely clear what language is being spoken. Eventually, it was a sort of English. We were given a spot near the restroom. Not a big deal, but it doesn't help. The design/interior features a lot of concrete, which contributes to a cacophony of noise, as it's pleasantly busy. The place was definitely not clean. Cobwebs and dust everywhere on the floor. The waitstaff started timidly in English until she asked if it was also possible to speak in Dutch. That was actually strange. She was friendly, but not confident and, moreover, not really knowledgeable about the dishes. Ordering food is done digitally, which works perfectly well, except if you're not really aware of what's available. In that case, I'd actually prefer to speak to someone. Towards the end of the evening (around 9:30 PM, I think) the music started. It was loud, and the speakers were DAP (cheap junk). There was no music for the rest of the evening. The food was really delicious, which is, of course, the most important thing. All in all, I think we came at a bad time. The place wasn't clean, and the staff wasn't at their best. But the food was good. Oh...and the dessert I'd chosen was no longer available!

Upon entering, my first impression was okay. We were seated near the kitchen, and I immediately noticed that the windows to the kitchen looked dirty. Not ideal for a kitchen. First, of the four drinks we ordered, one arrived that we hadn't ordered. We reported this, and the drink was brought to us, but no new one was brought. Ultimately, I went to the bar myself. The sound is indeed very loud; a child was screaming loudly, which was quite disturbing at one point. I don't think the staff could have done anything about it at that moment. I ordered my food using a tablet. It was brought to the table quickly. The taste was good. I didn't see anyone ask if everything was to my liking. After a while, I ordered some coffee, which was also delivered quickly, but again, no questions were asked. A visit to the restroom is also quite a strange experience. They have a light in the toilet on the back wall that doesn't shine beyond the back shelf. The rest of the toilet is dark. I finally asked for the bill via the tablet, but no one came to ask. So I ended up walking to the bar, which was overflowing with glasses that needed washing. There were buckets and cleaning supplies everywhere, but they hadn't been used; it was a complete mess behind the bar. In conclusion, I would never go there again just for the food. The price-quality ratio isn't good.

I didn't like the food; it had a lot of sauce, which was tasty, and only 4 pieces of chicken with rice. You have to order naan bread separately. Pricey for what you get. The service was poor, with long waits for drinks. And I didn't think the kitchen, windows, or bar were clean.

Highly recommended!!! The food was incredibly delicious – each curry had its own unique character and was truly well-seasoned. The butter chicken made everyone drool. And there's a wide selection of vegetarian dishes, which were, again, incredibly flavorful! The service was also top-notch, so definitely worth a visit!!

The food is good, but the service is extremely disappointing. We placed an early order for work. Initially, we ordered online, but suddenly it said delivery wasn't possible. We called and they said they didn't have a delivery driver. After 10 minutes, they called again (on their advice), and they said they did have a delivery driver. We ended up ordering through Uber Eats, but the prices are higher there and no free naan. We're still waiting for our order. We've been waiting at least an hour and a half.

It's a shame they don't deliver on their promises. I ordered food that was supposed to be delivered an hour later. After an hour and a half, I called again. No one answered the phone. Finally, someone answered the phone and said the food was on its way. After 45 minutes, I called again. I tried eight times, but no one answered or hung up. We sent an email asking for a refund. Meanwhile, a woman delivered the food after waiting for two and a half hours. Dear 91spices: if it's too busy, don't make false promises. We're enjoying other food in the meantime. You can keep the order.

My all-time favorite restaurant! I've tried Indian food everywhere, but 91 Spices remains my absolute favorite. I take everyone here. Delicious food, a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere, and always super friendly and great service! 10/10, I recommend it to everyone!

For starters we had samosa and chicken which were good. For the main course we had the paneer kofta and veg kurma. The curry's are extremely sweet, and not authentic to the Indian taste. The dessert (paneer cheesecake) was okish, nothing special about it. The place has a good ambience though.

Bad food and service at the tables!! This is not how you treat the customers! Food was cold and they dont communicate.

The ambience and location are excellent. The food was average, and the menu variety could be improved. The service was very slow and disappointing (for example, the dessert took more than 30 minutes to arrive as the staff seemed to have forgotten about it). It seems the number of staff is simply not enough to serve a restaurant of this size. I strongly urge the owners to look into these aspects.

Good food, but terrible service with missing dishes and stayed in the restaurant for 4 hours. The atmosphere was nice but too packed.
