Delicious food on a cold day in winter. Chicken thali, extra garlic naan, mango lassi, sheesh lamb kebab wrap. Omg I'm going home rolling. Had a warm welcome, very friendly. They also speak Dutch, which is normally not the case everywhere. I also asked if the music could be turned on and they did so immediately. Delicious! Small minus; normal naan was a bit hard (crispy) and cold quickly. Which is normal with this cold weather! So eat quickly. You'll see me again soon.

Although allergen card didn’t show egg in the chicken roll they put egg containing mayonnaise in it. My son had it and got an allergic reaction. When I called the restaurant to confirm my takeaway didn’t have egg they said it does and it is best to check with the manager next time instead of relying on the displayed allergen card. This is very dangerous practice as allergies are life threatening

This was a great spot to grab a bite to eat. Big portions and the food was very good. The butter chicken was a little too sweet for my liking, but the chicken tikka masala was very tasty. We also got free biryani on the side which was very nice.

Best Indian food for my opinion. Real tandoori oven,the thin bread from this oven is fantastic. Curry,s are all hot spicy.... specially the beef. But I like spicy. Biriani rice.mango chicken curry. Just delicious everything. I spent a hotel for 1 night to be able to eat there .thats means Michelin star feeling restaurant. Congrats. I definitely recommend for everyone to try it! And that was it.

Really like their dal makhni with rice! I always order that. And I think it's useful that they have a place where we can wash our hands. A standard restaurant for reasonably priced Indian food. Their home-made lemonades are also delicious.

Ordered vegetable thali and dal chawal thali with Indian bread, loved it as we were eating fast food from last couple of days, the seating arrangement was spacious good thing was toiletten was free to use, added advantage, the food portion was good ordered 2 thalis and ate 4 adults and 3 children. overall nice experience as we were missing desi food and originally from Pak.

Overall good, I like this place, my favorite is their chicken thali, the punjabi thali is also nice but I wouldn't recommend the rasmalai, to me it's overpriced and sadly the texture of it is quite bad. Tastewise it was okay but the texture ruined the experience.

We eat here weekly and more often just before closing. Suddenly today at 9:30 PM we could only eat take away, while every time we see people ordering after us and dining in the restaurant just before closing..

Pretty racist staff. Asked us to take the plates away to the washing area, while she herself took the plates away from other foreign customers. I'm not used to this kind of behaviour from "Indian/sub-continent" restaurants. It was a horrible experience we are not coming back to you. Also, the food sucked. Thank you for nothing!

Indian food is wonderfully aromatic and appetizing. The companions couldn't wait for a group photo of the food; they started eating immediately. 😅 The service is self-serve at the cashier, who also has a self-ordering computer machine. The menu is up-to-date with clear pictures. The restaurant is elegant and modern, providing a clean sink and restroom. The tables and floor are clean, and a high chair for children is available, which is commendable. I recommend lovers of Indian cuisine to try it. I hope they provide bread for free or at a lower price.

You will get better service at McDonald's than this restaurant. I am a Punjabi myself and I am used to hospitality and customer friendliness. This is part of the culture. But this is also a standard in the Dutch catering industry. I wish the lady who worked there could be re-educated. She would rather look out the window or at her phone than do her work. Disinterested and not attentive at all. Just lazy. If you want to take the food with you, you can pay 50 cents for a mini container and you can also pack it yourself. Just like you have to pick up and clear the food yourself. It wouldn't be long before I could have been behind the kitchen preparing my food. This is self-service 2.0. While we are the only guests in the restaurant at 6 p.m. and the employee is quietly looking out the window as if she has nothing to do. This is a really poor representation of the Punjabi culture and food. If you ask something in Dutch, you are immediately told in a rude tone that you have to speak English. Sorry... but that attitude, the food, the whole concept just clashed with the name of this restaurant... this restaurant is just one big insult! The butter chicken just tasted sweet... (how do you do it) And you pay 4 euros for 2 mini Gulaab Jamuns... really ridiculous. A terrible experience. Have never experienced such bad service in my life. I will never go here again and would advise against it to everyone. There are plenty of places with better service and better food.

I liked the chicken biryani very much and especially the masala tea, which was perfect after biryani.

During my recent week long stay in Rotterdam I visited Punjabi Food restaurant a couple of times for lunch / dinner. As the name suggests it serves Indian Cuisine. I have tried different vegetarian options (aloo parantha, chole bhature, paneer parantha) and really like the taste of the food - very close to what one finds in North India. But then have 2 issues with this restaurant and hence one star less: •Prices are competitive but then the portion is less vs others and also it is self-service. • Food quality varies from good to okayish (like sometimes very less aloo in aloo parantha) The location is quite close to hotels like Holiday Inn, Hilton, Marriot etc. They also have another branch in Markthal Shopping complex. Edit: Have visited them a few more times. Rana ji chef is quite a friendly one.

After having a very good experience a year back I went to this place again with my parents so that they can taste some authentic indian food in Netherlands. But this time it was very very dissapointing. I ordered Cholle Bathura and Amritsari Kulcha from chefs special menu but both were terrible. Bhautre were very oily. Cholle were partly cooked and blunt. Amtritsari kulcha has no taste was like having tandoori allo paratha with very less stuffing and was served with same chole as cholle bathure for which you pay 14 eur. The food was not worth any penny. Really disappointing experience.

Latest review: after visiting this establishment many times, unfortunately it's now really disappointing. Quality is really poor, prices are high. Food is old/recycled from prior day as the tikka was dry and hard. No longer a favourite of ours. Excellent food. Well prepared and seasoned. Be sure to ask for your spice preference and the chef will prepare accordingly. Perfect for dining in. Lots of parking garages nearby. Chicken Tikka and naans were one of the best in NL!

So this is a halal certified restaurant which is already a bonus for me. However the food wasn't that good. I ordered chicken tikka and samosa chaat with chai. On the pictures it looked like an actual samosa chaat. However upon delivery it was 2 pieces of somosa with chutney on the side, I have a picture of the dish. So the pictures and description on the menu don't correspond to the what you actually get to eat which is unfortunate. See picture, that's not how a channa chaat looks like. The chicken was OK, a bit on the dry side. I did mention this to the workers, but they basically told me it is what it is. So I can't really recommend this restaurant if you want to have the real Indian experience and the price is too high for the quality you get Thats very unfortunate because the restaurant has a lot of potential and is in a really good location.

A great place if you don't feel like dining for a long time, but still want to eat tasty food. Homemade iced tea was also popular!

Edit: experience of march 2022; I haven't given it a chance again Wanted to go there for dinner with a friend. It was our first time there, so we asked the man behind the counter whether the curries came with or without rice. He then told us there were no curries - while other people were eating thalis and what not. We ultimately left with an unpleasant and uncomfrotable feeling because of his weird response [and not wanting to serve anything to us?] and went to a different restaurant.

I buy my chai masala often here. Sometimes through uber eats and sometimes in the restaurant. Today I ordered my usual cup of chai and the woman working there gave me the tea in a espresso cup, which is much much smaller then usual. When I pointed this out she tried to insult my intelligence by pretending the cup size is the same when I insisted that it was not the case and that I was only yesterday here and I had a normal size cup, she said it was an exception... she forgot I have been buying my tea here for the last 6 months. I will never go back. Such a cheat and cheap act. Btw i had paid 3.47 euro for the tea!!!

Priced right. Good authentic food. Rice, Dal, and curry was good. Roti/naan, Chilly cheese, could have been better/tastier. Garlic dishes need some more cooking, and feel more raw.

The curry dishes of paneer and dal makhni were good. The naan was a put off though. But a good place for affordable indian food especially for students. The lassi was too sweet. Also FYI it's a self service place.

Generous portions with authentic flavors and forgiving spice level for those with moderate to light tolerance. Lassi also flavoured with a hint of cardamom! Excellent taste all around! Biryani in particular is a must try! Will come here again the next time I visit Rotterdam! Ordered Punjabi Thali, Shrimp Biryani, Palak Paneer, garlic naan and mango lassi.
