We had an exceptionally good meal! The vegetarian options were also excellent. Regarding the wine pairing, they were open to input, which contributed to having a really enjoyable evening. The service was attentive and careful. Unfortunately, it's not around the corner, otherwise we would go more often. Thanks for the lovely evening!

Dear all, Eating at a place like this is supposed to be a fantastic experience. And it was, but not for the entire afternoon. The first 50% of the dinner was flawless. In terms of food - and service. But then things went wrong. A huge miss in the wine selection for the langoustine. The wine was too cold. You couldn't taste anything. The wine couldn't stand up to the langoustine. Anyway. That can happen. But. Right after that. A main course of fish that was fried to mush. Served with a cheap Gall & Gall wine. Very sweet, honest commentary on this was not appreciated. It was my birthday and I asked if I could have a tiny little extra piece of aged cheese with the cheese board. That was subsequently charged double and extra on the bill The chocolate cake I received as a gift was of a high standard Just like the dessert When we saw at 15:58 that the tables were being ironed with a large electrical cable draped across the floor, while we hadn't even finished our second cup of coffee yet, we knew enough Amarone is a top-notch place but cuts corners. You don't need to go here if you crave perfection 👍🏻👋🏻

Very nice restaurant with comfortable chairs and surprising and tasty dishes. Beautiful accompanying wines. Both the wines and dishes were summery and suited the warm weather well. The service was a bit stiff, but excellent. Personally, I prefer olive oil to just butter with the bread served, but that is a matter of personal preference.

What a wonderful evening I had here. The food was truly fantastic, and every dish was beautifully presented on unique tableware. The small white balls, served in a glass bowl with red granules, were a real surprise for the eyes and the taste buds. The atmosphere in the restaurant on the Meent is very pleasant and quiet. It is the perfect place for an evening of true culinary enjoyment in Rotterdam. I am already looking forward to my next visit.

Our first time at Amarone and we had a 6-course meal tonight. What an experience!!! It was simply fantastic: beautiful flavors, very well balanced, powerful, lovely textures, and everything fit together perfectly. Combine that with the very friendly and knowledgeable service, and you are pampered all evening! Highly recommended!!!

Great experience with a fantastic menu.

I would like to express my disappointment regarding my dining experience at your restaurant. Unfortunately, the experience was very poor, both in terms of taste and the physical discomfort afterwards. Due to the extreme saltiness of several dishes, I was ultimately barely able to eat. At this moment, my mouth and throat are even swollen and painful. The cod starter was actually the only dish I really enjoyed. The acidity was well balanced and the fish was beautifully tender. However, starting from the sweetbread dish, the experience began to decline sharply. The bread itself had virtually no flavor, while the sauce did not taste like tom yum at all and was, moreover, extremely salty. After this dish, I was already feeling nauseous. The next dish, the wonton, made both me and my dining companion very unhappy. The dough had absolutely no structure or elasticity, the filling had an unpleasant texture, and the broth was once again far too salty. By the time the main course was served, we already deeply regretted choosing your restaurant. The lamb was tender, but very small portions and completely tasteless on the inside. The sauce was so salty that my mouth and throat hurt immediately upon tasting it. I could not eat any more after one bite, even though I was still hungry. I gave the rest to my dining companion, but he could not enjoy it either. The raspberry and mint dessert was ultimately the best dish of the evening. Perhaps also because everything before it had been so salty; this dessert at least felt fresh and balanced. This was by now the fifth Michelin-starred restaurant I have visited, but unfortunately also by far the worst experience I have ever had. The overall experience was very disappointing. Given the quality of the food and the physical discomfort we were left with, I hope you can offer a suitable solution, preferably in the form of a refund.

We enjoyed the 6-course menu. Our stated allergies were taken into account with care, and the substitutions certainly did not fall short of the standard. At our request, a number of cocktails were also served instead of wine; these were also well-prepared and featured an "amarone" twist.

We were here for my wedding anniversary. An unforgettable dinner for an unforgettable day. The food was super tasty and original, the wine pairing matched perfectly, and the staff were discreet and not intrusive.

For a very special occasion, we sometimes dine at a Michelin-starred restaurant. For a chic restaurant, Amarone is situated in a unique location on a busy shopping street with an open shop front. We sat at the front, so we had the best view, and vice versa for all the passersby. I didn't mind it too much, but that isn't for everyone. The interior has seen better days, and the lighting is far too harsh. The food, on the other hand, was, as I had expected, a work of art. Surprising flavor combinations, beautifully presented plates, and meat that melts in your mouth. The recommended accompanying wines were just right. The service is prompt and knowledgeable, yet it doesn't become stiff like you sometimes see. There was even attention paid to a personal touch to celebrate my birthday. We walked out feeling a lot "lighter" but very satisfied.

Amarone is truly one of a kind! We visited the restaurant for a Valentine’s Day lunch where they had a special menu comprising of langoustine, cod, duck and the most delicious chocolate dessert! The service is impeccable, especially when it comes to choosing your wine/drink to accompany the meal. At the very beginning of the lunch, they also asked us about our dietary preferences switching one of the courses from eel to scallop. Their accommodation, along with the truly delicious flavors made this one of the best restaurants we’ve been to in the Netherlands - perfect for a special occasion!

I was scared it would be rushed as some comments said but we felt at ease and the time passed nicely🥰 the food was mostly good I loved the appetisers and salad more than the mains though. We've been to Restaurant Amarone several times, and this time we came here for our office end-of-year dinner. Eight of us had a wonderful evening, with culinary delights that sometimes resembled gourmet paintings. The accompanying wines complemented the dishes exceptionally well; the wine pairings here are truly excellent. For those who prefer not to drink alcohol, they make delicious cocktails. All the allergies and preferences we specified in advance were taken into account. Despite being a table of eight, which can sometimes pose some challenges for the waitstaff, the service was as good as ever! We will definitely be back.

We recently enjoyed a six-course meal at Amarone, and it was a wonderful culinary experience. Each dish was refined, creative, and perfectly complemented. The accompanying wines were also fantastically chosen, elevating each course to a higher level. Amarone truly impressed in terms of taste and presentation. However, the service was a bit lacking. Water was sometimes offered late, we even received a duplicate of one dish, which we had to point out, after which it was sent to the table next to us. The pace between courses was variable: sometimes the next course arrived almost too quickly, while at other times we had to wait a very long time. This occasionally disrupted the flow of the evening. For a total of €487.50 for two people, we expected more refinement and consistency in terms of service. However, it must be said that the food itself never disappointed – it was truly excellent. In short: top-notch culinary quality, but the service could be a bit more professional to balance out the overall experience.

After five years, we dined at Amarone in Rotterdam again yesterday. This time we opted for an à la carte dinner. My partner started with langoustines, and I had veal tartare. For the main course, he chose pike-perch, and I had turbot. For dessert, my partner chose alpaco chocolate, and I—as usual—chose a selection of five cheeses. All of this was accompanied by a Monthelie Premier Cru Domaine Roulot 2020, an elegant wine that complemented the dishes perfectly, though the finish was a bit short. We were warmly welcomed by Yoshiko, the lady of the house, after which dinner began with several refined amuse-bouches. The veal tartare had a firm texture and was beautifully presented with vadouvan and horseradish. The oxtail sauce had a full flavor but didn't quite blend with the tartare, leaving the two elements somewhat separate. My partner's langoustine was perfectly prepared; The extra langoustine, served in a crispy dish with raw langoustine, was slightly underdone due to the crispy crust. The pike-perch was excellent: beautifully cooked, with dashi and beef sausage that gave the dish an exciting extra dimension. My turbot was a generous portion, topped with Pata Negra – a combination of two distinct flavors that together created a true taste explosion. My partner found the alpaco chocolate dessert a bit ordinary, while my cheese selection was very varied and perfectly tempered. We finished with coffee and tea. All in all, we had a wonderful meal at Amarone: the quality is undeniably high, the service warm and professional, and the atmosphere still pleasantly refined. However, we missed here and there the subtle signature you expect from a restaurant of this caliber – none of the dishes will truly stick with us a year from now.

The food was, of course, absolutely delicious—truly Michelin star-worthy. However, the service made us feel uncomfortable at times. At the end of our meal, we felt rushed out of the restaurant due to a passive-aggressive comment made by one of the waitresses.

Absolute gem! I had three course dinner and everything from amuse bouche to desert was incredibly delicious, including suggested wine pairing. The impeccable service and exquisite ambience - looking forward to the opportunity for coming back. Om de verjaardag van mijn vrouw extra luister bij te zetten hebben we deze keer Amarone uitgekozen. Het restaurant stond al geruime tijd op de culinaire bucketlist. Voor een dinsdag avond was de zaak redelijke gevuld maar de vrouwelijke maitre / sommelier en een jonge ober konden het goed aan en boden uitstekende service. We kozen zes gangen met bijpassend wijn arrangement. Heerlijke bereidingen en mooie ingrediënten. Ook een ruim aanbod aan amuses. Alles hoog op smaak. De gangen lijken op het eerste gezicht niet erg ruim geportioneerd maar de hoeveelheid is zeker voldoende. Ook het tempo is prima. De wijnen waren duidelijk met zorg en creativiteit geselecteerd. Kortom, echt een verwen avond. Is er dan helemaal niets te verbeteren? Dat is er altijd. Persoonlijk had de stijl van uitserveren, gerechtje op tafel, saus toevoegen, toelichten wel wat meer variatie kunnen gebruiken. Na drie keer weet je het wel. Toch is Amarone duidelijk een top restaurant. Waarom dan niet de volle vijf punten zult u zeggen? Tja, de prijzen he. Bijna Euro 500 voor twee personen blijft heel veel geld. Zeker geen slechte prijs / kwaliteit maar wel wat over de top.

Geweldige avond gehad; goede service, fijne wijnen, mooie gerechtjes en een kennisrijke sommelier. Uiteindelijk voor mij het 1-na-beste 1-sterrenrestaurant waar ik ben geweest. Ga zo door!

We celebrated my wife's birthday here, having wanted to visit for years. A delicious menu, a delicious wine pairing and all the delicious extras. The tasting menu is superb and our dietary restrictions and allergies were taken into account splendidly. The signature langoustine (torched on the outside, but sweet and raw on the inside) with vadouvan and yuzu, the guinea fowl with morel, the turbot with pata negra and the (ethical) foie gras mousse 'dessert' were genius and to us, deserving of a second Michelin Star. To top it all off; the service was warm and professional and everyone in the building has a passion for hospitality and gastronomy. Not a single complaint here: this restaurant deserves any and all success!

On Monday, we enjoyed a delicious, extensive lunch in the almost full restaurant. My husband opted for the accompanying wine pairing. I indicated that I do not drink alcohol, and for me, the alternative of matching mocktails was ideal (the same price as a wine pairing). I was just as curious about the mocktail with every course. One minor point: one staff member speaks English, and we could not always understand her well when serving. All in all, great, and we will definitely be back.

Although we still miss their risotto, the menu is spectacular. We'll be back 1,001 times! Bravo!

The cuisine is phenomenal. The dishes are delicious. An experience worth recommending. Unique and unrepeatable. However, it's worth considering the rather long wait time – for us, it took almost four hours for the 7-course menu. The restaurant itself, in some areas (e.g., the restroom), seems to be only slightly powdered, "very average." A separate chair for a woman's handbag at each table is a big plus.

Culinair adventure. The best way to describe my experience with Amarone. The restaurant is the perfect size. Not too big, not too small. You are welcomed by a very well trained staff. Before ordering you get welcomed by a very tasty nutty treat. We chose for the 7 courses menu. This way we could taste every seasonal special Amarone had to offer. I cannot describe how good the food was. All of the food had great thought behind is. It is beautiful to see and taste the different combos. For example: One dish was venison 2ways. The sheer perfection in this dish was outstanding. One way was your perfect medium rare "steak" while the other one was slowcooked. This way you get to taste the "normal" variant everyone is using and the version Amarone uses. The chef and his team made a smart choice here. Another example would be their Fish dish. The combination was well thought of. The ingredients would make me think of the Netherlands, which was very nice detail. Do make a reservation for Amarone. Let your tastebuds dance. It is well worth the price and well worth your taste. In my opinion, the best taste I've had in Rotterdam. If there was one thing I liked the least, it would be the use of goat cheese in a certain dish. While I was open to they idea, it gave me an unusual aftertaste which I didn't like that much. But that's a personal preference, which should not affect the overal experience.

Perhaps the wines could have been a little more exciting, but they were fine wines that paired well.

A very good restaurant. We enjoyed the excellent Prestige menu. All four courses were excellent in terms of taste and of very high quality. We particularly enjoyed the A5. The recommended wine was excellent. The service took great care of us and was always very polite and courteous.

Cena con un par de amigos. Teníamos el menú de 6 platos con algunos ajustes. El anfitrión fue bastante cooperativo en el ajuste de los platos para encajar en la dieta de nuestros amigos. La comida era simplemente encantadora, así como las copas de vino que lo acompañan. Sin duda merece una visita.

Dear employees, Last night's experience was wonderful. It has exceeded our expectations. I have now had a number of beautiful restaurants in Rotterdam. However, I liked this restaurant better than Joelia, Fred, Alluire and Parkheuvel. The food is actually delicious, a 9.5, the various combinations and everything is perfectly balanced. Now that we know that you can eat here for a better price-quality ratio, we will come back here more often. There is only one word to describe the dining experience last night: EXQUISITE.... from the presentation, the taste and including especially the service. These photos do not do justice to the perfection of the meal we had. Every single dish was crafted to perfection! The restaurant itself is elegant but unpretentious. Every staff member was highly knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive. This extraordinary restaurant is pure class from every angle you look at. Highly recommended!!

Wir haben unseren ersten Urlaubsabend in dem modernen Restaurant im Herzen der Stadt verbracht. Der Service war aufmerksam, freundlich und engagiert, so soll es sein. Entschieden haben wir uns für das 5 Gang Menü das als Hauptgang Lamm hatte mit und von Austern mit Käse als Gruß aus der Küche begleitet wurde, mal was ganz anders und sehr gelungen. Jeder Gang war toll, lecker und ein kleines Kunstwerk für sich. Wir waren sehr begeistert. Lediglich der Gang zur Toilette war etwas herausfordernd, erinnerte die Treppe dorthin doch eher an einen Abgang auf einem Schiff, immerhin authentisch in einer Hafenstadt. Wie kommen gerne wieder.

Eating at Amarone is a special experience, the beautiful flavor combinations of the dishes and the excellent service of the staff ensure an unforgettable experience. The chef and his team ensure that you as a guest lack nothing! Also the wines, and a sommelier who has a good feel for the table and does not shy away from a challenge. Very professional and excellent host who go the extra mile. We thoroughly enjoyed the Prestige menu!

Neat, business tent with delicious food. Staff has good knowledge and top hospitality. Sometimes the atmosphere is a bit "stiff" but fine for a business dinner.

Afgelopen zaterdagavond ging ik met een vriendin eten bij Amarone. Wat een topavond! We konden meteen vanaf de eerste seconde genieten van de mooie amuses, de prachtige gerechtjes en de gezellige en kundige bediening. We kozen beiden voor vegetarisch 6 gangen, en ook mijn vriendin, die normaalgesproken wel vlees/vis eet, was erg onder de indruk. De uitgebalanceerde gerechtjes met prachtige wijnen maakten alle verwachtingen waar! En ook qua prijs vonden wij het heel netjes en zoals je verwacht voor een 1 sterrenzaak. Sterker nog, wij vonden veel van de gerechtjes 2 sterrenwaardig. Dus top Amarone, bedankt voor een hele fijne avond. Complimenten aan het hele team!
