Louise Petit Restaurant in Rotterdam Centrum

We had dinner at Louise's this evening with two friends. They had ordered the Cote de Boeuf (for two people). What arrived at the table was a platter with two rows of steak slices topped with a handful of watercress. There were substantial edges of fat in the meat, meaning not everything was eaten. The best part is yet to come: for the price of 45 euros per person. It was abominably bad. As a side dish, a small bowl of fries and a small bowl with one of those tiny baby lettuce heads. The restaurant filled up around 8:00 PM and the kitchen became overwhelmed.

Nice little spot, real French atmosphere, and even a "croissant pour le chien" on the menu. Unfortunately, that was already sold out...

We waited two and a half hours for the food, when appetiser finally arrived they brought the wrong one, main dishes took even longer and were not fully served (not all components in the dish). Desert was burned. Although the food was good and atmosphere was nice the service was extremely bad. Would not recommend.

Louise Petit Restaurant is a beautiful restaurant. The prices are a bit on the high side, though. The prices for coffee here are around 4 euros, but it is good coffee.

A warm welcome; you immediately feel like you're in France with the interior and staff. Delicious dishes and friendly service! We have been coming regularly since the opening!

We had a short rib sandwich, among other things. There wasn't a single piece of meat in it. But there was a lot of onion compote.

We had the Bavette de bœuf, which was incredibly tasty but also incredibly small. The toilet is outdated, where you have to put the dirty wipes in a basket and lift the lid 🙈. Both the chairs and the benches are less suitable for tall people.

Had a delicious meal, the selection of charcuterie with Jambon Bayonne and Cecina de Leon is highly recommended acoustics could be better, the quick service - if you are short on time - was greatly appreciated

A lovely place for food that's just that step above your average restaurant. Kind service, good food, and a great place to enjoy a slow lunch. Yes, this isn't a place to enjoy when you are in a rush. That's a positive.

I had breakfast here, it is the perfect spot for that on Sunday morning. (Parking is for free) The croissant is a bit sweet, but the setting and the view are perfect. Staff is friendly and fast.

We came with a friend for dinner. Only two tables were occupied, but the staff said the entire restaurant was full. We come here specifically to eat well. My bill here has never been lower than €150, but apparently guests who order one glass of wine get priority. Priorities… The way customers are treated here is truly disappointing.

Exceptional place truly. Amazing service beautiful restaurant and location and remarkably good food. In my experience, this restaurant was one of the best if not the best in Rotterdam especially if you look at how good the food is and how pretty the restaurant/interior/presentation is in comparison to the price (especially when you compare it to restaurants like Iron Lady or Lucia) this place truly felt like I was getting my money's worth in all aspcts of the experience.

The ambiance was great, but we found the food to be a disappointment. We didn't think the côte de boeuf or the Paris-Brest was anything special. Perhaps we were too spoiled by our recent holiday in France, but we really expected more from this.

The food, service, and atmosphere were all absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to enjoy a slice of France by the harbour!

After being asked for our opinion, we took the time last week to write a long email explaining all our concerns about the restaurant and never even got a reply. We're regulars to the restaurant however we noticed a degression in both service an food over the last months. We will not come back any time soon.

Cute restaurant but not worth the money. Incredibly expensive for what you get. The online menu (for breakfast and lunch) is not up to date. So definitely do not get your hopes up for dishes listed online; chances are they won't be available. In the end, we ate one sandwich with cottage cheese. And we waited an incredibly long time for our drinks. We only received them when the food arrived. Poor service and really too little food for the price! A shame, because the restaurant does have potential.

The food is very good, the service is good, and the ambiance is good. The nice thing is that everything you get on your plate is authentic and hasn't been put through a blender like in most restaurants these days, where everything is beaten into a mush or foam. Everything on your plate is recognizable 😀 and prepared exceptionally well.

The food itself was okay, but the overall experience was rather mediocre. The waiter's friendliness was adequate but remained quite neutral. Small adjustments to dishes, such as some extra lettuce instead of fries, were not possible. When we asked for a tissue, we were told to just go to the restroom. At the end, we also asked for a receipt, but this apparently proved impossible. Additionally, the restaurant was very noisy due to the large groups present, making it difficult to understand even my partner properly during the meal.

Had a fantastic lunch at Louise Petit Restaurant. The food was exceptional from start to finish. The sole was perfectly cooked, fresh and full of flavour, and the côte de boeuf au cresson was outstanding. Beautifully prepared, and full of character. What truly made the experience stand out was the service. Warm, attentive and genuinely welcoming without ever feeling forced or over the top. The staff created a relaxed and elegant atmosphere that made the whole lunch feel special. Beautiful setting, excellent food, professional hospitality. One of those places that reminds you why classic restaurants still matter. Highly recommended.

Food was fine, nothing to write home about but no complaints either. What did bother me though was the waitresses' uniforms. Honestly felt like stepping back in time, and not in a charming vintage way. It comes across as pretty sexist and left a sour taste. Such a shame because the place has potential, but details like that really do matter.

Good wine and a delicious meal! Since the fish we ordered turned out to be quite small, we were offered the choice between a discount on the main course or the chef preparing an extra, different fish for us. Naturally, we chose the second option; excellent!

I hadn't been there for a while but didn't miss anything. In fact, I thought it had actually gone downhill. No longer the long, perfect fries, but a bowl of overcooked, broken crumbs. The fish was also way overcooked and the rest of the dish lacked flavor. Strange service, not unfriendly but peculiar. It wasn't bad... but if you charge prices like that, it simply has to be more than good. A shame. ************ Delicious food/wine, beautiful location, and the service (Kim, did it say on the receipt?) was amazing. Cozy, warm, attentive. Although it should be like this, you don't experience it often anymore. I will definitely be back because I have to try everything on the menu!

Fantastic food and drinks, friendly and attentive service. Reservations are necessary. The playlist could use expanding – after hearing La Vie en Rose and Voilá three times in 2 hours, you feel like you're listening to a CD on repeat. :-) That being said, I would love to come back here again for the delicious food and the great atmosphere.

Having visited and brought friends and family over the years it was a disappointing miss this time around. We were the first customers seated for lunch but it still took more than an hour for our order (cote de boeuf) to get to our table. Waitstaff didn’t know what a Sauternes was, and asked several times if it was really what I ordered as an aperitif. Later on I asked for a glass of Saint Emilion, which was on offer as coravin bottle, but the staff apparently heard Semillion, and started to pour another Sauternes. Had to correct them several times to a point I was nearly shouting. When the wine came it was already in the glass, unlike many times before when it was poured table-side. And finally, the cote de boeuf went mostly uneaten after it was initially sent back due to being too raw, before being recooked and sent back to us, looking unappetizing and sad on the plate. We didn’t bother with dessert. There goes one of the few decent restaurants in Rotterdam.

For my 50th birthday, a friend from Rotterdam invited me to lunch at the charming Veerhaven. Louise Petit restaurant exudes a delightful, authentic French character, complemented by a delicious lunch menu. Unfortunately, the salmon wasn't available, but the wild mushroom soup was also delicious.

This place is a little fairytale within the city. A beautifully curated space where everything is just right. From delicious tea’s, perfect Madeleine’s and the best scrambled eggs in town. The staff is lovely the location is amazing. We love coming here. One tiny little tip to the restaurant owner: dresscode, obviously not for the staff as the always look immaculate, but recently the Lulu Lemon horror has arrived and it’s really gross to sit next to people who just went for a run, wet hair, tight outfits and gleaming spandex pants on a velvet couch. I think it is appropriate to have a little sign saying something like: no workout clothes please. Go have a lovely warm shower at home, put on that nice jacket and beautiful dress, and see you in a bit!

Louise Petit is located in a beautiful spot in Rotterdam, but when I close my eyes, I imagine myself in Paris. It’s no wonder there are so many good reviews. Louise Petit never disappoints; it’s wonderful to know that when you go here, you’ll never be sitting in an empty place—there is always ambiance and a lovely atmosphere. And this is not without reason; we started off wonderfully with the caviar and, as beef lovers, the fantastic steak tartare, followed by the ABSOLUTELY BEST Cote de boeuf with fries and salad as a side dish. Wow, that was insane. Fantastic service, amazing atmosphere, and delicious food! Oh yes, that crème brûlée is truly the very best ever. I NEED THE RECIPE. In short, 10/10!

Came with my son for a nice french lunch and we got the worst welcome ever. Foods looks good but with such bad service we left without having lunch.

We arrived at Le Petit Louise around 9:40 PM. The restaurant still had many empty tables, but the hostess asked us to wait while she checked with the manager. When the manager came, she told us that a party was expected to arrive and that the kitchen would close in 10 minutes, even though the guests hadn’t arrived yet and there were clearly several tables available. We explained that we had come from far away and kindly asked if she could make an exception, but she showed no understanding at all. Her attitude was very cold and unwelcoming. It’s really disappointing, as we had heard great things about this place, but the experience left us with a very poor impression...Is the owner would be ok with this manager decision.. i dont think so

I didn't have a reservation and walked there like a madman. We were addressed in English, I replied in Dutch, and they stubbornly replied in English. We'd be served in English all evening, while I heard them speaking Dutch among themselves. What is it with these big Dutch cities these days? Okay, we want to be snobby? No problem. The menu was heavily in French (because, oh, how Parisians we are) and Dutch. So I decided to order in French. Well, that turned out to be too difficult for the staff. Kind of hilarious. Oh well, let's forget about it, we'll just speak English in the Netherlands. Other than that, the service was okay. What wasn't so great: dogs were allowed, which meant we had dogs barking at each other. The slow-cooked pork cheek was also a bit disappointing in terms of quantity. And all that for €32. We got half a lettuce heart as a vegetable. The fries were McDonald's fries. Fine and thoroughly cooked. You wouldn't even remember that they were once a potato. But then again, they were French fries 😉. Baguettes are brought to the table for €5.25. All you can eat. However, after four slices of baguette, it's over and no refills are offered. Final conclusion: the food wasn't bad, but the price-quality ratio could be much better. And stop speaking snooty English with a Dutch accent.

Very expensive, the food was mediocre; the escargots seemed overcooked and tough. The meat wasn't tasty, and my girlfriend's fish was too salty. All in all, not recommended. We skipped dessert.

This place is perfection. Everything from the furniture to the cutlery, staff uniforms to the food and location. A gem for the city. Feels like a miniature holiday. Also, they have the best waterbowls for dogs ⛲️

The food was excellent. We started with a delicious cremant, salted butter, and bread from Bussink. In between, we enjoyed a tasty amuse-bouche. The main course was cod fillet with langoustine sauce. Delicious.

Lauren the manager is very good at taking care of her customers. We didn't book a reservation for happy hour for our first visit but still got sat. Our table was unfortunately very small so when did book a reservation for happy hour the following week. she remembered us and made sure to give us a table with ample space. Additionally, the food has been remarkably both times. The servers have been so friendly and inviting. Both Pamela and Stephan were fabulous.

No words, everything was delicious!! Mussels, fries, meat, salad (which I could have done with a bit more 🙈), the crème brûlée, and chocolate mousse!!!! This was a truly special experience, and I never knew there was such a restaurant in Rotterdam. The waitresses were also very sweet and happy to help, and there was indeed a lovely French atmosphere. I'll be back again 😊

I've enjoyed Louise's dishes several times now. Once again, I found very little to criticize about the chef's culinary skills. However, the current restaurant manager, possibly a new hire, is a disgrace and anything but a showcase for this wonderful establishment. She has no sense of service or customer experience. Despite this observation, my lovely wife decided to leave a substantial tip, which, to my great surprise, she didn't even thank me for. I think this is a real stain on what is one of our favorite restaurants in Rotterdam. I hope this woman will be spoken to; otherwise, I regret to say that Louise has lost one of her regular customers.

Morning cycling around the beautiful City, I visited a morning coffee shop and had a light breakfast. The cafe has a location overlooking the beautiful Yacht area, a poetic river. The staff is polite and professional, the preparation is very delicious, the drinks are also delicious. The morning is crowded with customers, and the sun is beautiful. The price is normal and reasonable, everyone can come and enjoy. Thank you to the waiter. Thank you to the chef. I will come back

What a great experience at Louise Petit in Rotterdam! From the moment I walked in I felt very welcome — the service was really great. The atmosphere and appearance of the restaurant are beautiful and really make you think you are in France. The food was delicious: everything tasted great and the portions were just right. The wine list is also impressive, with a lot of choice and fine wines. The icing on the cake was the crème brûlée just as it should be — a perfect ending to a great evening. In short: an absolute must for anyone who loves good French cuisine, hospitality and atmosphere.

We kwamen op de fiets vanuit de Krimpenerwaard. De zon scheen uitbundig. We zochten een leuke lunchplek in de schaduw. Omdat er op het terras maar 1 parasol was en de plekken in de schaduw allemaal bezet waren moesten we toch in de zon plaatsnemen. Dit was niet uit te houden, dus dan toch maar in het restaurant van onze overigens heerlijke lunch genoten. Toen wij onze lunch geserveerd kregen, bestelden we nog een drankje. Dat drankje kwam helaas pas nadat we onze lunch al op hadden. Tip 1: Schaf meer parasols aan. Bezoekers lopen jullie terras voorbij als zij niet in de schaduw kunnen plaats nemen. Tip 2: Drankje direct serveren als dit besteld wordt en niet eerst servetten gaan vouwen....

Best French shop in the Netherlands! Everything is right

El menú es clásico y los platos están perfectamente preparados. Y el personal es muy amable y muy centrado en el servicio. What a great experience at Louise. The food was delicious, with surprising flavours and beautifully presented. Every dish was prepared with care and you can taste that. The service was friendly, professional and personal, exactly as you hope. From the moment you entered to the farewell, everything felt right. Louise is truly a place you would like to return to.

Service was great, but we found the food a bit expensive for what it was. It was nice but not great or anything. It was very noisy inside, and our table was quite low, which was not convenient for eating. The decoration was very picturesque though!

Recommendations 🔥piece of France in Rotterdam

Let me start positively. The place looks really nice! Now the bad experience... We thought we would have a nice glass of wine. When paying we had to pay 24 euros for 2 wines! Out of proportion. They should have mentioned this in advance. A glass of wine of 12 euros p.s. is not normal anymore!

Saturday evening May 17th we had dinner at Louis Petit because it was recommended by friends. We were 5 people and were placed upstairs next to a group of about 30 ladies. This is impossible, as far as sound is concerned. We could barely hear each other. The food was not good. The meat dishes were good, but the vegetarian main course, the sweet potato, was very monotonous in taste; not much was made of it. The dessert il flottante was really bad. Too bad that this evening, which we had been looking forward to so much, was such a disappointment.

I love coming back to this place. To my taste, the food is really, really good—elegant yet comforting, with rich flavors and perfect execution. Great attention to details and simple things. One example, I wish I knew where to buy the Jersey butter they serve—it’s absolutely divine. One downside, though: the kitchen smell tends to cling to your clothes, especially anything you hand over to the wardrobe. Be prepared to wash jackets afterward.

Het eten en de wijnen waren prima, hoewel fors aan de prijs (maar waar niet tegenwoordig) Bediening op de automatische piloot, maar verder correct. Gezellige ambiance. Maar….waarom toch maar 2 ballen voor Louise Petit. Wij betaalden de rekening zonder te checken. Paar wijntjes te veel op ;) Thuis bleek de aanbetaling van €50 niet te zijn verrekend. Mail gestuurd en antwoord: sorry sorry we zullen het overmaken. Ik las net in een aantal reviews dezelfde klacht, dus dit riekt naar opzet. Hoeveel gasten betalen wel niet zonder te checken, ook thuis niet. Niet geschoten is altijd mis. Enfin, ernstig genoeg om hier een melding van te maken
