Amstelcampus café in Oosterparkbuurt

I watched a handball match here in the sports hall. There's no daylight, and even in spring, it's sweltering inside, even for the spectators. Let alone having to play sports there. The bar, however, was cozy.

We couldn't even order a platter of snacks, it was only 10:30pm, ridiculous. Some people had brought pizza from outside.

A nice place to relax after exercising. Also available for rent for graduation ceremonies.

This cafe is inserted into a sport pavillion. There are some sport competition on the pavilion and then people use to come here for a drink. This cafe have a mixed crowd with young people around and more older as well. The overall light was a bit too strong for a typical cafe. If they dimmed down could be much more inviting and cozy. For seating there is only high stools and chairs on the ground floor. For a sofa or more soft seat you need to go to the 1st floor, where the pool table is. The decoration is simple and straight forward.

limited selection of beers, I miss having more food choices other than fries and bitterballen. it's often very crowded and servers can be grumpy

Service was kind of slow even when empty, the actual place is also hard to reach

Café Amstelcampus is een prima café. Er is ruimte voor een bak koffie of een borrel. Op de benedenverdieping is de sfeer gelijk aan dat van een andere kroeg. De bovenverdieping vind ik naar mijn smaak tegen vallen. De opstelling van tafels doet me erg denken aan een kantine. De loungehoek met boekenkast daarentegen, is erg comfortabel.

I only know about the later hours. The place can get a bit crowded after 22:00, and sometimes it's pre-booked for a party. Other than that, there's nice staff and a wide selection of basic snacks and drinks. A decent place for a casual evening.
