Honestly service wasn’t amazing but the coffee absolutely slapped so I don’t even mind. Really good pick-me-up this morning that got me through an intense hangover. Really recommend. A bit pricey but great quality.

We waited about 35 minutes for 3 coffees and a smoothie, for the waitress to put the drinks down and not take our food orders. Even paying for the coffees was a Herculean effort. When we had eaten there before, I had the ‘eggcellent start’ breakfast which was average. The eggs were overcooked and the bread was not toasted so ended up soggy. Points for convenience being near the hotel we stayed at, but wouldn’t recommend.

Great service, people came to me straight away when my drink was empty. Food was delectable. But the best thing was the super nice people in the service, in the kitchen and behind the bar, it almost felt like they were good friends of mine. Highly recommended!!!!

I used to be a regular here in 2022 and 2023, the people were so warm and friendly. The food used to be so tasty and it was made with care.... however, the last two visits in 2024 were so disappointing that I removed the cafe from my favorites list and decided to never step in there again. The warmth of the place from the smiles of the people working there has disappeared. The stuff working there now looks least interested about maintaining the ambience. They have a plastic smile and always in a hurry to go back to the coffee sections to continue with the chit chats. The food is not edible anymore and twice I had given feedback about my dry scrambled eggs (which looks more like an omelet there now), to get a blank Thank You in return. The stuff never cared to even offer to change or work on improving the quality. This is really disappointing and the place is losing it's charm and I definitely lost my go-to brunch spot :(

We decided to try breakfast and drink coffee. Usually breakfasts with an omelette are delicious, but here it was very average, you can make it at home for sure tastier. In addition, one omelet had overcooked bacon. They concluded that it is possible to come for coffee when the child is playing on the new playground. Sometimes it seems that such establishments simply do not strain, because there is always a stream of new tourists.

Wow wow wow, I happened to be in the area and I really enjoyed the mezze and my table companion the pulled chicken. They were real flavor bombs, I felt like I was on cloud nine. Even the Caffè lattes were sublime. I may not be in Amsterdam much, but I will definitely come back for this wonderful experience. Friendly service, ditto atmosphere and parking nearby.

Didn't even have a chance to have lunch outside. I literally sat there for 30 minutes without anyone taking any notice of me. Very incompetent staff who have no regard for the environment. After 30 minutes I got up and had lunch elsewhere. I know that catering staff are difficult to find but this...

It was the first time for me that I was shocked that the pastry I ordered was placed in front of me...........it was "bite" "swallow" "go away".. : ( the pastry It was very small unfortunately, I already asked for 2 forks because my friend and I usually share but when we saw it we thought..." Ok"... "we are going to eat this one very slowly, then it will still look something".. ..well ..... That didn't work either : ( ...the cake was too small anyway... so with 1 bite each it was already gone!... Too bad (and then the price🙈🙊) late but.....

I've been a regular at Anne&Max for several weeks now, and it never fails to impress. The cosy ambience is perfect for just about anything - catch up with a friend, or finish some work on your laptop in solitude or just read a book with a cup of coffee. The friendly staff always greets with a warm smile. Their slow filter coffee is a must-try for any coffee enthusiast. The rich, aromatic flavor and smooth finish make it just perfect. Sometimes, I also indulge in a sandwich, which is always fresh and delicious. If you're looking for a welcoming spot with great coffee and a relaxing atmosphere, I highly recommend Anne&Max.

We simply stopped for a coffee and a dessert. Construction right beside the terrace was not helping the ambiance... If it wasn't for that, it is a nice place to stop and have a coffee.

The food was not nice. It came late. In the menu it was supposed to include sour dough bread but it was normal bread instead. The bread was not toasted and with the spreads it was almost wet.

The food was good but nothing special. Caramel cake was the tastiest thing. The filter coffee seemed average. My husband can prepare better coffee at home. He said that’s because we’re buying better beans. The place itself is nice but currently there’s some renovation going on outside right in front of the cafe.

The coffee is delicious, I have ordered a flat white. Breakfast is filling. I ordered scrambled eggs with bacon, a croissant and a yogurt. The establishment is large. The staff is friendly.

Cozy joint for breakfast, brunch, lunch, or just for a drink. It has two floors and is equipped with changing facilities for babies (not that common in the NL!). Service is friendly and facilities are well kept. Prices are reasonable considering the expensive Amsterdam standards.

Lovely cafe that feels very local rather than a chain. Menus are all digital and available via scanning a QR code. you can order via the QR code or wait for someone to come and take your order. Menu is available in dutch and english. We ordered the lunch set for 2. 1. portion size is a bit small for the price, but it's enough if you're not super hungry. 2. the juice you get with the meal is smaller than the normal size unless you pay €1 more. 3. The soup is smaller than the normal size, but the soup was REALLY nice! I believe it was tomatoe soup. 4. Salad was different in a nice way. It wasn't the normal lettuce and minimal variety. This one had pumpkin and pickeled red cabbage, crutons, etc. 5. Spreads for the bread were plenty and also quite nice. 6. The scrambled egg was the worst part of the meal. It was far from being scrambled - the eggs were very overcooked and didn't feel or taste like scrambled eggs. Water is available for self-service by the entrance. My only complaint would be that the hygiene wasn't the best as I found a few pieces of small dust/hair on some of the food. Overall, it is quite a nice place and in a nice area. The only advice is not to get the lunch or breakfast sets but to just order separately and don't order scrambled eggs.

Visit in summer season - August Ordered coffee with milk and croissont filled with scrambled eggs and ham. Tasted really good. Pleasant location. Although there is little view, it is a quieter location. Grocery shopping around the corner. Recommended for holidaymakers nearby for a small breakfast.

Irritating if there is not a standard menu on the table, the staff is friendly but could be a bit more attentive, the food is good, but the portions are small and expensive...

Busy trendy restaurant. Lots of locals. Yogurt breakfast is tasty, but so little that it is insufficient for breakfast. (at least for me)

It's just okay, a chain. Lots of meetings and upstairs only laptop users, very unpleasant. You don't go here for a nice lunch on a Sunday afternoon, there are plenty of better places, but alone, before work or just for a quick break. Staff could be more attentive, you have to ask to order once you've had it and laptop presses sit for hours on 1 espresso. They never go upstairs, so I think they sit there for nothing :-)

I was alone and in a good mood, ready for a nice coffee and, why not, throw in some scones for myself as well. I knew from my previous experience, this Anne & Max establishment would likely not dissapoint. However, im affraid it kinda did…Came in happy and enthusiastic, wasnt very busy, nobody said hi… felt sad and just sat myself down i guess.. Coffee was well presented, some nice wheat looking foamy milk streak decorated my coffee. Sadly I craved for some cinnanom buns or whatever but they didnt sell this. Ordered 2 scones and a crossaint then. The scones were cold, crumbly, really not authentic looking, clumsy delivered on two seperate plates with also two sets of whipcream, which tasted pretty good, and some lemoncurd, which im personally not a big fan of… It was dissapointing and soulless. So was the doughy cold crossaint they gave me straight from the displaystand which probably laid there the entire morning. Really, this first revisit after 2 years was so worrying, i just had to pull out my phone and start doing my reviewing again. The staff were bots, clearly not caring, forcefull smiles, poor communication, pulling out my plate spraying croissant flakes all over me without batting an eye. Like a reverse milked cow, moderately satisfied, I stood up, paid the bill and left this place with less of a smile as when I entered to unfortunatly never return here again… 😥

Een prima/gezellige plek voor een heerlijke koffie/thee met gebak of lunch. Bediening vlot en vriendelijk! Wel een tip: gebruik echte slagroom ipv de kant en klare spuitbussen..😉

Ik heb hier heerlijk geluncht met mijn vriend. We werden goed geholpen door het vriendelijke personeel en de koffie was echt bijzonder lekker.

High prices, very limited plant based options, bad service

Prima en gezellig plekje om te lunchen. De vegan club sandwich is wat lastig te eten, maar erg lekker. Je moet een beetje van kokos houden om te genieten van de vegan bacon, maar de smaken van geroosterde bloemkool en gerookte tofu sluiten daar goed op aan. Goede havermelkcappuccino👍🏾

Good tasting sandwiches but definitely on the expensive side for just sandwiches. Cost €30.50 for two super club sandwiches, that’s $33 USD or $43.60 CAD for people who are Canadian like us. I know and understand this place might be considered speciality sandwiches but I’ve had far better speciality sandwiches in France 🇫🇷 Belgium 🇧🇪 USA 🇺🇸 Uk 🇬🇧 for far cheaper prices and they also came with more side of options with the order too. €30.50 for two super club sandwiches and a few crisp/chips seem quite a lot on my eyes or are these normal standard prices for sandwiches here in Amsterdam??

Met uitzicht over (een zijtak van) het IJ in het zonnetje genieten van lekkere koffie en een hapje vegetarisch eten. Zoals overal is de bediening goed, maar niet ervaren. Hier was het geen probleem: de bediening ging goed.

Wir haben heute einen Geburtstag gefeiert und in diese Gelegenheit zu einem Frühstück bei Anne&Max genutzt. Es war super lecker und absolut ausreichend. Die besten Croissants die ich je gegessen habe. Super Location am Wasser. Bedienung höchst zuvorkommend. Perfekt!

This coffee place is a hidden gem in Amsterdam! I really liked the coffee, the (vegan) food (especially the banana bread!!) and the friendly staff there. Also it's the first coffee place that gives a discount for ordering oat milk as opposed to all other coffees charging you extra. I can highly recommend going there! :)

Bestes Frühstück das wir je hatten. Wir hatten hier das Frühstück für 2 und es war so lecker und reichhaltig auch für den Preis. Alles war frisch auch der Saft. Auch die Bedienung war super freundlich. Wir empfehlen es auf jeden Fall weiter.

Tomamos o pequeno almoço várias vezes ao longo da nossa estadia em Amesterdão no Anne&Max. O staff é jovem e super simpático. Os croissants são óptimos e os smoothies também. por: 2 croissants, 2 smoothies e um bolo pagamos 19,20€

Koude Cappuccino. Broodjes Club/Fish sandwich vielen zwaar tegen. Lekker brood met het beleg was matig. Zalm uit blik. Kipfilet uit pakje. Smakeloos en inspiratieloos met een slechte prijs/kwaliteit verhouding. Voor zout en suiker moet je zelf naar de balie lopen. Mooie locatie, maar overpriced. Jammer.

Lunch pakketten besteld. Was zeker redelijk van smaak. Vond de prijs-kwaliteit-hoeveelheid wel wat scheef. Duur en weinig eten (ieder 2 kleine broodjes, 1 salade en 1 ice tea) Ook geen bestek, wat nu jammer was want was lunch in buitenlucht. En salade met je handen is nou niet ideaal. Dus voortaan bestek vragen of ergens anders lunch bestellen..
