Benji's in Weesperzijde

For me, it's a must-try. Every time I visit Amsterdam, I come here for brunch. And every time, I order an Eggstraordinary 😋. This dish is simply perfect! It alone justifies the queue. In fact, the queue is a testament to the quality of the place. Aim for 11:00 sharp because after that it gets crowded. I would also add the friendly and welcoming staff. I highly recommend it!

Food is plain and very simple. Portions are small. The service is a joke, i felt like the waitress was bothered that she has to take our order. They just talk between themselves and you wait 20 minutes to order drinks... it was not even that busy.

The food was good, but not wow. Extremely overpriced for what you get. One waitress was incredibly arrogant; if you don't like your job, quit. I won't be back. It's a shame, but it's a great location.

We had a disappointing experience during our visit. My chicken katsu sandwich was excellent, but my partner’s Bali cheese steak was served cold. Unfortunately, while cutting into her sandwich, she also found a long strand of hair in the food. She was very hungry, so she continued eating, but when we brought the issue to the server’s attention, our concern was completely dismissed. The server went to the kitchen holding the hair and appeared to be laughing about it with colleagues, which was quite unprofessional and uncomfortable to witness. It’s a shame, because the food itself had potential, but the service and handling of the situation left a really poor impression.

Tried it for breakfast and approved, except for the price, which is really too expensive (around €13 for a hot drink and a pastry). There are vegan and vegetarian options, the setting is nice, I recommend it 👌🏻

Bro this is so good. Breakfast granolas are supreme. Its crazy how good it is. U gotta spend a bit, but you get unique flavors and insane quality in return. Nice location. Tbh heavily recommended for anyone

Love this place. Best breakfast in Amsterdam! Every time I'm in the neighbourhood I must go there. Love their coffee. The service was always kind and with a smile. It's just above a metro station so it's worth the travel.

Benji’s in Amsterdam is a nice little spot with a cool vibe, but honestly not really worth all the hype. I ordered a matcha and the egg brioche sandwich. The food was ok, nothing bad but also nothing that really stood out. I ended up walking 45 minutes to get there, which made it feel a bit underwhelming in the end. That being said, if you’re in the neighborhood it’s definitely worth checking out once. The place has a nice atmosphere and it seems like a good hangout spot, especially if you live close by. But if you’re planning to travel far just for it, I’d probably say skip it ; there are plenty of other cafés in Amsterdam that are just as good if not better.

Good spot for breakfast/brunch. I got the ceaser toast, found the bread to be rock solid and no butter, chicken was pre cooked a heated up lewkwarm. Dish looked great but lacked in flavour and taste. Fresh orange juice was great and staff were lovely

I went today at noon and ordered the guacamole and egg toast and a cappuccino. Everything was spectacular, as was the attention of the tall waiter who served me. I just wanted to say that I'm an Argentinian in love with a Dutchman, haha. Whenever I want to go to Argentina, I have company for a tour of Buenos Aires.

Bali Cheese Steak from the specials menu was a 10/10 burger. Perfect amount of spice, and extremely flavourful. I considered getting a second one but my stomach declined because it had no space left. Highly Recommend ✅✅

I came here for breakfast. The atmosphere was nice and the staff were friendly, but it took quite a long time for our order to be taken and for the food to arrive. The food itself was just okay—not bad, but nothing special.

I had the truffle mushroom scrambled egg. It was tasty though slightly difficult to eat. The place was cute with lovely staff.

You're only allowed into the building/patio after a (long) wait until one of the staff members sees you and comes to the entrance. Multitasking and a warm welcome are difficult. There's also a long wait for further service. It's more pleasant to chat at the coffee corner. The service is also curt. This was Friday, September 5th, around 12-13 PM.

The food is good and so is the menu, plenty to choose from. However, service is sometimes very slow to the point of leaving the place. I went here more than 10 times in the last 6 months, sometimes service is quick and attentive, sometimes it takes 5 minutes to be seated and after 25 minutes no one has taken our order, even though I have flagged staff multiple times. This very long wait time happened multiple times, every time we chose to leave. This is brunch, it shouldn’t be a gamble and I shouldn’t have to beg staff “please take my money”

Liked the food. Unfortunately, no pictures . Got deleted. Had their Eggstraordinary with Mango Matcha I think and Dirty Chai . Lovely ambience, friendly staff but a little impatient I guess but sweet over all and excellent food. Definitely, worth the distance and walk.

It was 3:18 PM when we arrived looking for something to eat, thinking we'd still be able to make it since they didn't close until 4:00 PM. But we were turned away because they were already closing… So I have no idea if the food is good, just that the service is terrible…

Excellent brunch, nothing to complain about. The staff is quite friendly and the salmon burger bun was really delicious. The croissant seemed a bit expensive for what it was, but that's probably my French side talking. Thank you!

We visited this breakfast spot and had a mixed experience. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which we appreciated. However, we had to wait about 30 minutes for our food, which felt a bit too long given how early it was and that it wasn’t overly crowded. When the food arrived, it tasted good, but the portions were surprisingly small. My child finished their French toast quickly and actually asked for a second breakfast, which is not something that usually happens. Overall, decent food and nice service, but we left feeling a bit hungry and unsure if it was worth the wait.

Found this place on google maps as it was close to our hotel (a 2 min walk). Really great seating arrangement and friendly, helpful staff, especially when it came to allergies. Food and coffee was delicious and I will definitely be back soon.

We went for brunch on a Friday. Very friendly staff, a pleasant atmosphere, and delicious food. It was a bit noisy; a little investment in soundproofing would be nice; with moderately busy tables, it's difficult to have a conversation at a normal volume. We highly recommend it.

Het eten is heerlijk, maar wij moesten vrij lang wachten. Het eten was het wachten echter zéker waard. Alles was goed op smaak en vers. Daarnaast is het personeel ook erg vriendelijk en kan je hier gezellig binnen en buiten zitten. Echt een aanrader voor ontbijt of lunch!

I think the service just wasn't in the mood to work today. For a 14-euro double toast, you got a small piece of bread... It's kind of a shame, because the café has so much potential, and the coffee was bland and cold.

Food was good, not what I expected based on pics shared. The cook was opening the smoothie bags with his teeth which is very unsanitary. Also if you eat with a group of friends they don’t allow you to split or separate the tab.

I loved this place, after going through multiple places for breakfast, this was one that was clearly above the rest, reservations available, staff was super polite and professional, I cannot wouch for the avocado salmon toast enough, that was amazing. If you happen to pass by, go here. 😊👌🏼

There's a wide selection of food. "EGG EXTRA ORDINARY" is my favorite. The staff is very friendly. The atmosphere is great. The prices are reasonable; if you want good food, you'll have to dig a little deeper into your pockets ☺️

Nice place for a brunch, the food is really delicious! The choice of each ingredient makes the difference, I was pleased to see that everything is 'homemade', even the burger bun. On the negative side get ready to pay the price of Amsterdam tho! The glass of latte for example was soooo small and expensive for that amount :( hope they will improve it

We went there on a Saturday around 12. We only had to wait 5 minutes until we were offered a table inside. The staff was so friendly and forthcoming. Service was quick. We ordered the French toast and the avocado on sourdough bread. Bothe dishes were delicious. I can only recommend stopping by this place when you are in Amsterdam.

That’s right—because she doesn’t need an H to be an absolute icon. This woman isn’t just a waitress. She’s a culinary fairy godmother, a brunch sorceress, a beam of radiant human sunshine with the speed of a Formula 1 pit crew and the comic timing of a Netflix stand-up special (even wore a ferrari t-shirt). She was: So nice, we wanted to invite her to our wedding. So fast, she practically teleported with our food. So funny, we laughed like we were at a Kevin Hart show. The vibe? Aesthetic overload. Plants. Sunlight. Smiles. It’s like your Instagram feed had a baby with your dreams. We literally had to hold back tears. Yes, it was that good.

I was in this café 3 years ago and I was really impressed. My current visit was the exact opposite. We waited almost an hour for our acai bowl, which ended up being the opposite of fresh. No fresh fruit, consistency was like a smoothie and had an oily aftertaste. When we asked the service about our order, they said it took so long because everything was fresh, but it wasn't. We also had to wait over 40 minutes for the drinks. Compared to my visit 3 years ago, I am more than disappointed.

The food was great! The experience was sadly narrowed by service, it was very slow and another person and I waited for up to 40 minutes before our meals arrived. There was no information unless you asked or even went inside to check. We didn’t feel very tended to. As said, food is great - do make sure to plan in plenty of time for that visit, otherwise you might be running late to somewhere else. :)

Was slightly empty when visited. But it may be fun when full. Advised to visit morning, early noon.

Didn't even get to try the food. I cannot stand bad service. Plenty of empty tables, after waiting for a minute or two with no acknowledgement by staff I was told to go back and wait to be seated. Clearly understaffed or rude, I cannot decide which but so happy I decided not to stay and I got a warm welcome at Florentin Brunch. Service poles apart.

Pretty decent little place this. Food very good and service is okay as well. Sat on a window seat, mind though as the surface (table/shelf) is not level and your coffee/breakfast may end up on the floor. Asked for poached eggs, not done there apparently. Always makes me worried when they cannot vary the menu!! Overall good place to eat.

There’s something for everyone! You’ll find everything you want to try for brunch. We tried the French toast—absolutely amazing—and the baked salmon, paired with a glass of Prosecco and an Americano. Just perfect! 👌
