The location is a bit far and the garden's twists and turns can be a little confusing, but you really must come! The place is amazing, the breakfast is delicious, and the coffee—I ordered a flat white—was perfectly balanced.

🪑 Setting - This café's biggest asset is its location in the "secret" courtyard, an oasis in the city. There's a lovely terrace, but you can also sit on the lawn (a few picnic tables and benches are available). We were there on a warm Saturday around 3 p.m., and there was just enough room for two people. 🧑‍🍳 Service - Nothing to complain about, but not exceptional either. 🥗 Food - A nice menu with slightly different dishes or classic dishes with a twist. I tried the peach pancakes, which were delicious. 🍹 Drinks - A wide selection, including homemade creations. I thought the pandan and vanilla iced coffee (a limited-time special) was absolutely disgusting, but my dining companion enjoyed it. Then I had the iced matcha mango, which I enjoyed. 🌱 Dietary requirements - Plenty of vegetarian options on the menu. 🚽 Facilities - Clean restrooms, and there's also an indoor play area for small children. 💰 Value for money - I think the food and drinks are a bit expensive, but ultimately, you're paying for the location. It's a wonderful place to relax.

A very tasty lunch, with a great menu and delicious dishes. Even the things I hadn't ordered but saw passing by looked delicious. The place was packed; we were kind of lucky not to have a reservation, but we did get a table. Water was brought to the table immediately, and the service was quick and friendly. Highly recommended.

One of the worst breakfast places I’ve ever been in! The pancakes tastes of egg and onion! Any dessert items should be placed away from onions. The other things I ordered were also inedible. I never knew you could mess up making halloumi till I visited this place. Their coffee was fine. Also it’s very expensive for the service and food

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food served here! I got the breakfast benny and a carrot cake and they were so good! The benedict is served on a potato hash and with avocado smash. The carrot cake was amazing and it was uniquely presented. Iced latte was amazing too!!! If I come back to amsterdam, I would love to visit again!

The prices are a bit on the higher side (it was €110 for four people), but the atmosphere was really nice and the food was delicious. The staff were friendly as well. I’d definitely like to come back again. I especially enjoyed the Benny Boy and the pancakes.

Hadn't been here for a while and always used to love it. Not sure I would go back anymore. I made a reservation and specifically asked for a calm spot next to the window. I am autistic myself and was visiting with my very senior parents. When I asked this in the past they would place me at the end of the cafe next to the window. When we came in this time we were placed in the middle of the cafe, next to the entrance, bar and pathway. It was about the busiest it could get and not next to the window. Also had to switch seats with my Mom cause she was catching an ice cold draft every time the door openend. We didn't get any menus and had to grab those from other tables. Nobody came to serve us, but people who came in after us did get menus and served. At no point did any server come to us. We had to wave to get their attention for every thing. It seemed like they were understaffed. My dad ordered a double espresso but only got a single. The food was okay but my dad did not enjoy the soup of the day as much. The cafe was filled to the brim, and the noise was so bad we pretty much had to scream to even hear each other. I really don't like to leave reviews like this, but I was genuinely disappointed compared to how this place used to be. Sorry to say it.

The pancakes were delicious, though they used a sweet batter that could have been a bit less sweet. But the overall dish was nice, original, and delicious. The milk fingers with eel were a nice contrast. A nice surprise too. With two coffees, we spent €55. Water was included. We highly recommend this.

These are the choices we made. They were all delicious. Every single one of them left a lasting taste in my mouth. I highly recommend it. It's best to make a reservation before you arrive.

I stayed longer than planned, simply because it was so pleasant. The prices were very reasonable for the quality. This is a place you'll want to return to again and again.

Lovely location for lunch, with calm garden views. We both had the “Benny Boy”: hash brown - poached eggs - topped with avocado (for me) and trout (for my boyfriend). This was such a delicious mouthful, felt happy and re-energized with good food after this meal. I would recommend to make reservations in advance as it can get pretty busy.

Beautiful location, really beautiful park. But unfortunately I’m disappointed about the food , I took the “ Parisian Gnocchi”, however there was nothing in that plate that was even similar to the real Parisian gnocchi.

Had a reservation at 12, we only managed to order by 12:30 which seems a little strange considering that we only have 1,5 hours for our reservation. We ordered pancakes as dessert and i asked for extra set of cutlery. Had to wait a little to get those, so ended up grabbing them myself. I think this place def could use an extra pair of hands for FOH. Food was pretty nice. Interesting and new combinations of flavors.

We went here for lunch this weekend with our family (2 adults and 2 children). We left feeling a little disappointed; you have to make a reservation well in advance to get a spot, and the food was disappointing. The portions are small and the taste was disappointing (very sour). The children's toasties were dripping with grease (fried with butter/fat on the outside of the bread, but not crispy enough). The coffee was good, but that was really the only positive we experienced. The staff seems more attentive to each other and less attentive to the guests. We had to wait a long time for our order to be taken, and then it took a considerable time before we received our food. Because not everyone is eating inside, but plenty of people just come for drinks, we were surprised by this. Furthermore, there's something wrong with the acoustics inside; it's so loud that you have to speak very loudly to hear each other.

The food was excellent and the atmosphere was pleasant. Paying by card is best; cash is inconvenient, and they don't give change if you don't have enough.

The food was delicious, we ordered the savory Dutch and the brave basque and they were both very good. New options that we had not ordered before. June was a magnificent server and she gave us great advice when ordering and about Amsterdam in general. The place is super cozy and nice. I recommend making reservations as it gets quite busy in weekends. I have also had the kale hash poached eggs which I think have been my favorite so far. I will definitely be back to try more things. The best brunch restaurant I have visited in Amsterdam. The location is very pleasant, centrally-located yet surrounded by a small garden area with grass and trees. Dining is available inside and out when the weather is nice. The menu is quite diverse and inventive. The green and purple juices were very refreshing. The Benny Boy and Kale and Eggs Florentine were both perfectly done. The eggs poached just to solidity, the hollandaise with a nice lemony zing, perfect potato hash, and nice fresh trout. The basil and fig pancakes have a lot of ingredients, but they work together and may be the best pancakes I have ever had. I am certainly looking forward to trying more dishes from their autumn menu. Service was very kind and attentive, checking in on us a couple of times to make sure we had everything we wanted. Absolutely top experience.

The staff is curt, answers after 10 minutes and says no, it wasn't busy, just "Okay, tell me." Furthermore, the staff always speaks English, even if you speak Dutch, which doesn't make you feel welcome.

We had made a reservation for breakfast that morning. We were put in the most uninviting spot: with a view of blue garbage bags, completely blocking the view outside. It's odd that they're placed right in front of the window. We asked for a different table, and despite the many empty seats, we had to discuss it, and we could only move to the table next to us (which was actually an improvement). We heard the people who were put there after us complaining and asking for a different seat. We then placed our order, but the pancakes were already out of stock. And this was still very early in the day. A real disappointment. We hesitated for a long time about staying because we hadn't been enthusiastic up until then. We ordered a different dish, which was thankfully delicious. After ordering tea and coffee, we were asked to move because there was a large group that had arrived 45 minutes early (so suddenly we could move?). We replied that we'd be leaving in 10 minutes, and they could use our table then. This was okay, but the non-verbal looks weren't appreciated, and they practically looked us out the door. All in all: good food, but the organization and service could be much better.

A top breakfast spot in a fantastic location. Very friendly service, a great selection of dishes from light to sweet to savory – there's something for everyone. I had the pancakes, which were incredibly delicious.

On Sunday we booked for 1515. At 1500 we had a call saying the kitchen was going to close and we had to order ASAP which wasn't possible as we didn't have a menu and were not together. When we arrived we were eventually given menus (after waiting ages) and then told we would have to leave at 1600, so basically wouldn't have time to eat. We booked days before and no indication had been given on this and then were left wandering around town deciding where to go. Really disappointing and pretty sloppy.

Saturday 12:30. Delicious breakfast Benny / smashed avocado. We didn't reserve, and they brought the dish to us in 10 minutes. The place is very pretty, surrounded by greenery! They were also very friendly.

i came here many times and food is generally good, however service seems to have gone down a lot and server decides randomly if a certain food is available to you or not. Today our sever said the dish i wanted was not available for the day but only 10 minutes later the table next to us, that came in after us was able to order. Same as at least 1 other table. So i guess i was not worthy of that dish in the eyes of your server ? This is some next level poor service and puts a very damp light on the experience. The restaurant was also half empty so was not really a case to believe it might have been noisy or a stresfull time of the day and a missunderstanding. Hope you will do better in the future.

I had brunch there, it was very clean, the staff was very attentive, and the food was delicious. I don't like poached eggs, but they gave you the option to have them cooked well, which I did. I highly recommend it.

The coffee is really bad and the food is mediocre at best. I am an Amsterdam native and can assure you there are so many better options around in the area. The value for money also isn’t great. Will not be returning.

Another soul less brunch place for instagram. Ordered food and a cappuccino. Cappuccino tasted really bad, the soy milk had a savory taste like it was really old and nobody tried it before serving. For the food? Waited for literally an hour, just watched everyone else’s orders arrive but ours. Even our friends that arrived after us received their food almost instantly while we kept waiting, clearly forgot our orders. When it arrived it was a mess. An insane amount of kadayif just thrown on top of the smallest amount of cheese and you can see in the picture that they threw a block of spice on top with like 5 pistachios. 16 euro for this sad view that was over in a few bites. The staff is nice but the owners clearly font care that they are not enough for the demand. Soul less, money grab, awful experience.

The food is delicious, warm, and very nutritious. The simple menu offers something for everyone. Service is standard for Amsterdam. People wait outside the restaurant, while inside there are a few empty tables or tables waiting to be cleaned. The terrace is large and pleasant, nestled among trees.

Just had the worst matcha of my life here😭

Located in a park, quiet and cozy! The view is very nice, I ordered a basil peach pancake, the food was amazing. With the pistachios and crunchy cookies chips, very new combo. And it’s the peach season so the fruit also tasted very amazing. But the matcha mango was lower than I expected, because the mango purée tasted bland, and when paired with matcha it didn't really have much flavor overall. I heard they changed menu from time to time, I recommend to visit here for a pleasant time with the park and the food.

It was tasty, but a bit small. I thought there could have been a bit more salad instead of just four leaves. My friend bought the mango toast, and I also thought there wasn't much salad on it, just two leaves. It was delicious, and the menu was innovative, offering things you wouldn't see on every menu. The service was incredibly friendly and quick.

The pesto on the sandwich was terribly bitter. It turned out to be made with arugula. It wasn't listed as such on the menu. I got a sandwich without pesto. The service was fine. The food quality wasn't great and it was very expensive.

Rarely i find some perfect restaurants from all aspects.. what i found here is warm hospitality and GREAT SOUL TOUCH FOOD. Honestly the dish i ordered i wouldn’t mind eating it for so long and everyday! Simple yet so complicated feelings with this lovely egg dish. The atmosphere here is another layer of calm and peace.. the restaurant is inside a small a secret garden that you have to visit under any conditions! I traveled a lot but simply this is EXTRAORDINARY experience.

Wait: We stood at the entrance for 10 minutes just to be seated. A waitress stared at us and wouldn't let us in. Once seated, we waited about half an hour to eat. Food: I went there several years ago to eat the Benny Boy, but when I went back a few days ago, I was extremely disappointed with the dish: it only had hash browns, a poached egg, and bacon. When I went there a few years ago, there was avocado, mushrooms, and other things… Service: I was extremely disappointed with the service: the waiters didn't seem to enjoy their jobs; they just watched us wait and were very rude. Atmosphere: The atmosphere was very friendly, the restaurant is located in the middle of a park, the interior of the restaurant is also very beautiful, but the restaurant is packed with people, we had a hard time talking without other people talking loudly next to us. I advise you to book in advance if you want to have a chance of being able to eat.

Great mango toasty and delicious soup and coffee

We went here for lunch. The garden looks lovely. You can sit outside on the terrace or inside. It was quite busy, and the seating was quite close together. The food was exceptional and delicious. The staff was friendly. It was a nice experience, but I'm not sure I'll return.

A lovely spot for dining both indoors and outdoors, perhaps after a visit to the H’art Museum. I only had to wait five minutes for a table. The service was reasonable. The food was good, but I certainly won't be back.

Nice place in the middle of Amsterdam

Dignita uses a special Rumbaba coffee blend from Peru, which makes for delicious coffee. If you’re looking for the best cheesecake in Amsterdam, you found the place. The burnt Basque cheesecake is very creamy, but light and has a subtle floral aroma. The chicken sandwich ‘Chook Norris’ tasted bright and flavorful, crispy butter milk fried chicken, avocado, black beans, pickled vegetables, chipotle sauce on milk bread, served with tortilla chips. Unfortunately they skimped on the chicken, but the sandwich was still delicious. Dignita serves all day brunch and the menu is original and changes with the seasons. For example the lamb stew with Parmesan polenta sounds perfect on a cold winter’s day. Come here for the garden view and outside terrace when the weather’s nice. Also do not forget to make a reservation ahead of time, this place is always packed. ETA 17th July Summer Drinks o’ clock Special summer drinks menu, see photo non-alcoholic as well as alcoholic. Pandan iced latte, with vanilla and espresso, is on my to do list. The chook norris sandwich still slaps, delicious combo of flavors and textures.

We sat on the patio with our two little babies. The were very accommodating. The service was fairly good but they were pretty busy. The atmosphere was great on the outdoor patio. We thought the food was great, especially the yogurt and eggs dish they prepare (cannot recall name). The pancakes are also excellent as is the coffee. Looking forward to the next time.

Almost got the 5 stars if it wasn’t for the grumpy, rude, lazy waiter who just didn’t want to work today. The young lady was friendly and helpful but when we were going to pay, this young men (that seemed like the floor manager or something) came to us so we could pay, I ask to split the bill and pay separately since I had to pay with a business card. He refused and insisted in his refusal first saying “he doesn’t have time” then “it would have to pay the fees to the bank twice” (what if we were just two separate tables, I wonder?) I told him I will wait, he said 10 min and was literally hanging around doing stuff absolutely not urgent. We stand to stand up and go to the counter where he came and it literally took him 15 seconds to split the bill. I’m only sorry for the rest of the staff that missed the tip and the good review because of this arrogant youngster.

I really liked the atmosphere. Both indoor and outdoor areas are lovely. I do think the prices are way too high for the portion sizes. The flavours did not blow me away. The plating was nice but I felt that the quality of the food could be improved. I had the baguette with bresaola, which could have easily been elevated with a sourdough. I think it’s very basic compared to the price although the ambience was nice.

Cada vez que estoy en Ámsterdam, Dignita Hoftuin es mi primera parada. Es fácilmente mi cafetería favorita de la ciudad. La comida siempre es perfecta, fresca, sabrosa y bellamente presentada. El ambiente es tranquilo y el entorno del jardín lo hace sentir como una joya escondida. El servicio siempre ha sido realmente amable y acogedor. Es el tipo de lugar que te hace sentir como en casa, incluso cuando estás lejos de él. Muy recomendable.

It was morning. The place was fairly crowded, so it's best to make a reservation. We arrived without a reservation, and the staff welcomed us, prepared a table for us, and gave us the option of either indoor or outdoor seating. The café is located inside a small garden, but the atmosphere is very nice and cozy. Requests: 1- Fruit Pancakes: The toppings were banana and berries, and the taste was average. 2- Fried Eggs on Toast: 6 out of 10 (you can choose the degree of doneness of the eggs). 3- Americano: It was average. 4- Fresh orange juice: Delicious. The price is very, very cheap compared to the surrounding cafés. A place worth a visit.

One of the best brunch restaurants I've tried in Amsterdam! 😍 It's located in a garden, the food is very clean, the service is friendly, and the seating is relaxing, away from the street and the noise. Our orders: BONNY BOY, delicious and filling. We ordered it with avocado. Fresh and delicious orange juice. Pancakes, I forgot the name, but the basil thing tasted good.

Landed at Dignita Hoftuin in our first day in Amsterdam for lunch. We didn't have a reservation but after waiting about 7 minutes they found a nice spot for us outside. The location on the little park is picturesque and a great place for a restaurant. Really excellent food for breakfast/lunch/brunch. I had the mango mostarda toastie (such good chili oil) and my husband had the Chook Norris. Both were excellent and very fresh. I wish we would have made our way back here again - looking forward to the next time!

They advertise they make gluten free food, but then the kitchen is too small to avoid contamination for celiac disease. I was told there was nothing safe for me even if I wrote an email well in advance about the issue to which they replied positively.

Overhyped & Overpriced First of all: Yes, the food is good! But: Everything else that makes for a good restaurant experience is, unfortunately, completely lacking. It's generally difficult to get a table without a reservation—that's just how it is with great restaurants—but: Here, waiting in line for 20 minutes isn't worth it. Once you're seated, it takes 30 minutes or more before you can order or are served. The service isn't necessarily inattentive, but it's overwhelmed. The service is also rather disinterested and tedious. Many restaurants do things differently and better. The prices are exorbitant for small portions. All in all, you're sitting in a beautiful park-like garden—but you quickly realize you've fallen into a tourist trap, since no local would likely wander into the Dignita Hoftuin. So: there are far better breakfast places in Amsterdam.
