I already went there with my family we are here for vacation, we are 6 people. The person who just served us did not allow us to have a table. We told her that we could wait or get two tables for 3 instead of one for 6 and he refused.literally kicked us out of the place

Place with very burnt out employees and a clear lack of customer service, and that was with a half empty local. My family and I ended up at the Backyard, right next door, where we were very well taken care of!!! What a difference!

Food was decent but the portions were quite small. However the service is quite slow and the waiting time is too much.

Het eten en drinken is prima, en de sfeer is warm en uitnodigend. Helaas laat de speelhoek echt te wensen over. Het speelgoed is behoorlijk versleten, sommige stukken zijn kapot en het oogt alsof het al lange tijd niet is schoongemaakt. Kleine gevaarlijke afgebroken stukjes. Dit is jammer, want het concept met de speelhoek is geweldig en maakt het een fijne plek voor gezinnen. Een opknapbeurt en wat aandacht voor de hygiëne zou echt aan te bevelen zijn.

After fifteen minutes the waitress came to take our order: a coffee, hot chocolate and a lunch platter for 2. The drinks followed 20 minutes later, fine. But about an hour later our food was still not in sight. We indicated this and were told that lunch "will arrive shortly". Unfortunately, there is no interim solution either. Then waited another 25 minutes and still no food, while people who came in after us received their food earlier with the same order (lunch platter for 2). Ultimately, we indicated that we were disappointed that the food took so long and that nothing had been done after we expressed our dissatisfaction. Then we simply had to pay for our 2 drinks and we left disappointed. There was no apology from either waitress who spoke to us. In short, this was unfortunately the last time for us that we visit this store.

Helaas alleen even op De site naar het menu gekeken maar niet op reviews. Besteld: jus d’orange en water Niets op aan te merken. Maar toen … Lunch voor 2 is de naam. Een plank met een kopje waterige ik denk mosterdsoep. Het hartige beleg bestond uit 2 mini plakjes kaas, en een paar tegen het bederf aan kipfilet. Roerei met flintertjes bacon. 2 mini bakje dipjes niet thuis te brengen en beide niet lekker. Een side salade prima. Dit was het dan voor 17,50 pp. 😂😂😂 echt lachwekkend. Wij dachten dat we op de plank gerookte zalm zou liggen. Maar het bleek om Het roerei te gaan, met flintertjes bacon OF flintertjes gerookte zalm. (Dit stond wel op de kaart) het brood was oké. Wat een afgang. Natuurlijk toen de vraag bij het betalen kwam “heeft het gesmaakt “ gezegd dat het niet oké was en dat de kipfilet bedorven was. Met als antwoord “o, jammer” tja als je alleen maar wil verdienen en geen geld uit wil geven aan genoeg en goede producten. Dan krijg je dit. Tussendoor hebben we geen bediening gezien die kwam vragen of alles in orde was. Het meisje in de keuken wist ook dat het niet goed was. Ze stond aan een plakje kipfilet te ruiken toen ik van het toilet kwam. Snel sluiten die tent

Had lunch with my 2 daughters. We had a nice spot on the 1st floor near the window. Service came quite quickly before we had a chance to look at the menu, then it took quite a while before the order was taken. The preparation time wasn't too bad, it wasn't very busy so that made a difference. Quantity was fine, the focaccia was a bit small compared to the other dishes. I would go back again if I am near a branch.

A very cozy café with great delicacies and very nice service in the middle of Rotterdam. We'd love to come back.

Eigentlich waren wir auf der Suche nach einem Restaurant, sind dann aber aus diversen Gründen im Anne & Max gelandet. Der Laden ist sehr schön und gemütlich eingerichtet. Wir waren nur im Erdgeschoss, dort gab es kein spezielles Angebot für Kinder (Spielecke oder ähnliches), dennoch sind Kinder sehr freundlich aufgenommen, es gibt Kindergerichte auf der Karte und einen Wickeltisch in der Damentoilette. Die Bedienungen waren "zwar" sehr jung, "aber" sehr freundlich und auf zack. Statt herzhaften Abendessen gab es dort - wie auf der Karte zuvor ersichtlich - einfache Bistro-Speisen (Focaccia, Club-Sandwiches, Bowles, etc.). Das Essen wurde frisch zubereitet, wir konnten von unserem Platz aus zusehen. Alles was wir bestellt hatten war auch total lecker und hat uns völlig zufrieden gemacht. Zudem ist das Angebot bei der richtigen Speisewahl auch gar nicht so super ungesund, wie man bei schneller Bistro-Küche annehmen könnte. Unterm Strich also sehr leckeres Essen, besonders für den Mittagstisch.

The restaurant has a great location right in the centre on the waterfront. There is enough choice for everyone. Whether vegan, vegetarian, fish or meat. We had two croissants with different toppings. The one with pesto was very tasty and perfectly flavoured. The one with egg and vegan bacon (which, interestingly, was made of coconut (?) and was very tasty) deserved a little more seasoning. I always enjoyed coming to Anne&Max, but the last experiences in Rotterdam were a lot less so. The staff is poorly visible/approachable when you are sitting upstairs, it takes a long time before you can order. The play corner is a nice idea, but the toys available are largely damaged/incomplete and very dirty. Very unfortunate!

Very welcoming staff! Good place to eat & enjoy coffee. Comfortable atmosphere also through nice furniture/ looks. I had an iced Chai latte with coconut milk and the Italian cheese cake - it was very delicious! Would love to come back and test more items on the menu (:

What a lovely gem in the heart of Rotterdam. Great coffee, beautiful ambience and the friendliest service you could wish for... highly recommended if you need refreshments or a meal. Affordable prices considering the location. Can't wait to return soon.

Delicious loose tea served in a generous pot. My friend didn't want a Japanese cup without a handle and the waitress immediately got another one. We also received fresh milk for tea at no cost. Cakes €5, but very tasty. At least then you enjoy the calories :) And you can sit quietly for a while when it's gone. Very relaxed. Super!

Nice place to have a coffee or lunch. Lunch came quickly and was delicious. Tasty beer with and without/low alcohol. I was surprised by the handful of paprika chips as a garnish next to my sandwich. Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo of that.

We decided to try this place out for breakfast and were happy to find space without a reservation, the staff were friendly, however - we were disappointed by the very small portion of breakfast, which cost €13,50 for one croissant, a small bowl of yoghurt and a tiny bowl of scrambled egg with a few strips of bacon and a shot-glass of juice. (The coffee we ordered and paid for separately to this breakfast). Everything tasted fine, however we had expected an acceptable portion for the price we were paying.

Lunch for the 2nd person € 19.90 p.p. excluding drinks. Is not worth it! Bad service. The products offered were intended for 2 people, unfortunately it was enough for 1 person (someone who eats normally! so really not enough). Toilet very dirty. Staff was understaffed was the response to the complaint.

They have couple of vegan options, the vegan lemon- matcha cake was tasty. You can also order your coffee with plant-based options. Vegan breakfast is nice, you have couple of savory and sweet flavors.

I ordered and I was waiting for half an hour for a cup of coffee and they didn't bring it! I left the place then. Horrible service. I don't recommend it at all

Had brunch here on Easter Monday and it was disappointing in every respect. There are simply too many tables booked and the staff is too inexperienced to give guests the feeling of being a guest. The coffee was cut back on the snack, the food only arrived after more than an hour and was incomplete (no energy shakes). With no form of attention or apology in between. You had to be behind everything yourself. Food and drinks are left on the counter for too long before being served and, to top it all off, unwashed glasses and cutlery are reused. I know Anne Max as a pleasant location, but on days like this I will skip it from now on. Bad service. Shame.

We waited 1 hour to get some eggs. People are friendly and the food is okay, but doesn’t worth spending your whole morning there. The employees make a huge effort but unfortunately they are understaffed.

Cosy place to sit, nice vegan chocolate milk (albeit too sweet for our taste). The cakes weren't impressive, mostly very sugary, expensive for what you get. What I'm most disappointed with is the humane washing of the meat they sell. "Responsible meat" it says on the poster, but not even the kind staff were told what is responsible about it. There is no such thing as "responsible" meat. Killing animals for food in our modern society is always unethical, brutal, and at great ecological cost. You're selling hot dogs - if there is any kind of meat that's easily replaced by plant based alternatives, it's sausage meat. I hope you'll see the light here since you're branding yourself as sustainable, but any efforts you do with organic plants are nullified ten times over by selling meat.

The most sparsely poured glass of prosecco I have ever seen in my life! Prosecco is served in a normal wine glass (small wine glass!) and there was a really tiny layer of prosecco in it. About 1/3 of what you normally get elsewhere in the hospitality industry. The whole table was silent for a moment and then burst into laughter. Furthermore, not very pleasant and very slow service for a simple order. And everything is very expensive, which creates expectations that they absolutely do not meet.

Food was tasty and plenty of options for the little ones. The children's corner could use a makeover with new, clean items.

Drinking a cup of good quality coffee.

Went here for a high tea with 3 people with a reservation. First when we walked in no one came to greet us and show us our table. It was quite busy, but we ended up asking them about it and they cleaned up a table for us. After this little rough start, it took about 40 minutes before the food arrived. We did get the tea already and could start drinking. When finally the food came, we noticed that the reason it took longer was because it was all freshly made. This was very nice and the food was all very nice, as was the tea. Overall do really like the place and the food. I definitely recommend going here for a high tea.

A very nice and cosy yet modern place for a healthy breakfast : cereals and fruits bowl are perfectly tasty and fresh while the latte (chai and regular) are excellent. Very good pastries too.

Nice try, try another one next time. Waited a long time for a simple order, only to receive the wrong muffin, tea with a sieve that doesn't fit in the glass and you have to somehow hold it, and (especially) half a bowl of lukewarm weak coffee. Which I then also saw that this comes from a "coffee bunn", i.e. a large warming jug. Back in the 60's! This will only apply to standard black coffee, but it is still crazy that you are being fobbed off from a luxurious, more expensive coffee shop. Making a (nice) comment about this to the person makes no sense, no reaction whatsoever. They won't be able to do anything about it, but still. So as I said: next time a different tent, there are plenty!

Delicious coffee. A tip. Very cold when you sit near the door, door does not close properly. So raise the heat curtain a little or come up with something else (rugs?) And the seats of the armchairs at the front door need to be replaced.

Just had a few drinks, very relaxed atmosphere

Just go for a drink. We found it especially unpleasant and very noisy. We sat under the stairs, a box playing too loudly above our heads and next to the kitchen where more cutlery fell on the floor instead of being washed. Not a pleasant experience and thought we would come here for a quiet coffee.

The food is delicious, the service cannot be faulted. The atmosphere is a bit noisy, little privacy. A bit alternative/hippy.

We visited here on Sunday morning for a light breakfast, as it was one of the few places that were open. We enjoyed the fruit bowl with granola which was very good. We also had coffee and green tea. The service was pleasant and the prices were reasonable. Unfortunately, cash is not accepted.

Schönes modernes Kaffee über mehrere Ebenen. Oben hat man einen schönen Ausblick auf einen Kanal. Es gibt verschiedene Sitzmöglichkeiten, vom Barhocker über normale Tische/Stühle bis zu bequemen Sesseln. Wir hatten den doppelten Schokoladenkuchen ausprobiert, er war sehr süß und sehr lecker. Dazu einen Cappuccino und Latte Macchiato, auch sehr gut. Zusammen mit einem Aperol waren es knapp 26€, relativ normal für Großstadt. Bezahlen kann man hier neben Karte auch noch in bar. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich, man konnte sich auf Englisch verständigen. Ansonsten war der Laden sehr gut besucht, kaum freie Plätze. Toiletten sind klein (1 Toilette) aber funktionell. Leider nicht ganz sauber, was ich mal dem regen Andrang im Café zuschreibe. Alles in allem kann ich das Café empfehlen.

Beautiful place, delicious food, service with a smile. I really enjoyed it, I'll visit again in my next journey to Rotterdam. It's definitely a recommendation by me!
