Dutch Diner in Rotterdam Centrum

Tables and furniture were not clean, and are not kept up to date on a quiet weekday either. Fortunately, the food was tasty.

We ate here 2x with a 8-10 person table. The first day the steaks were extremely salty and service was slow. The second day… there were multiple items (both drinks and food) on the menu unavailable. This coupled with slow, unfriendly service… burger meat so dry it was hard like a rock. There are so many other nice places around… skip this one.

I ate there once, but I will never go there again. The pancakes were inedible.

The worst experience of my trip to Rotterdam! Super expensive, both the drinks and the food, for such low quality! We ordered cocktails that were ridiculously expensive and tasted awful, and the food was even worse—my friend and my sister both threw up! I don't recommend it.

Absolutely amazing place. The energy and the vibes on point. The drinks are so good, and they know how to pour a fine Guiness. The steak is one of the best what i ever eated in Rotterdam. I recommend this place with a warm heart for everybody.

Just a few minutes walk from the Kube houses (if you haven't yet, visit them and their museum), this is a classic European sight: a small park (full of blooms and buzzing with bumblebees) at the corner of a few streets, and one restaurant: with a patio, with gorgeous design, with the kitchen hidden underneath, in the basement.

Great food, portions were a bit small unfortunately. Nice and friendly staff. Maintenance of the property is a bit poor.

Don’t waste you time here I order a glass of wine and a portion of wings. Wine glass was dirty and the wings had no taste at all with a lame sauce on the side.

Yesterday we went out for dinner at Restaurant Brooks, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. It started with the fact that it took an incredibly long time before anyone even came to take our order. Then, we also had to wait a long time for our drinks. Eventually, a staff member came to report that the receipt hadn't gone through, without any apology. Additionally, we asked for a high chair, but it was never brought. When the food finally arrived, there was no cutlery on the table yet. When we mentioned this, we received a cheeky response that she only had two hands and would do it right away. That set the tone immediately. In addition, we had ordered one pancake without onion, but the staff member came to the table and said she no longer knew which pancake was without onion and that we would just have to figure that out ourselves. We asked for straws for our drinks. The staff member indicated that she did not want to provide a straw for the cola due to possible reactions. When we indicated that we wanted straws after all, she rolled her eyes before going to get them. The food itself wasn't good either. The pancakes were already cold upon arrival. The mini pancakes were swimming in butter. The nachos were downright bad. They were served in a small bowl full of broken chip pieces instead of whole nachos with thick rings of onion on top. Truly inedible. Consequently, we barely ate any of it. During the meal, no one came by to ask if everything was to our liking or if we wanted anything else to drink. Nothing was asked when settling the bill either. The bill was simply placed in front of us with the question of whether we wanted to pay by card or in cash. What made it even worse is that the owner was sitting on the terrace and could hear the entire conversation with the employee. Instead of intervening or addressing her behavior, he put his arm around her. In short, very poor service, mediocre food, and a complete lack of customer focus. We will absolutely not be returning here and do not recommend it to anyone.

We had a lovely lunch, with very fast and nice service, especially from the server with the ponytail! It has a nice calm atmosphere in an otherwise busy area wich is perfect to relax on a hot day.

Breakfast at Broox in Rotterdam offers a wide selection, including egg dishes, fish, and pancakes. The flavors are well-balanced, and everything is freshly prepared. The ambiance is relaxed, ensuring a pleasant, laid-back start to the day.

It was an okey experience. I felt like this was a well known brunch location, but it felt like an abandon cafe. The interior is a bit off. The place looks like it needs a touch up. The food was good. Coffee was okey. No oat milk, which was strange.

Beautiful place to chill, comfortable and friendly young waitresses. Only downside is the food. The brunch/lunch plate looks really nice on the outside, but the mini pancakes were very dry and hard to swallow and the tuna salad was quite average and not fresh. To pay 24euro for that disappointing quality it was too expensive. Luckily the poffertjes tasted good.

Had lunch here yesterday, very bad experience. I ordered a set breakfast: a platter with toast, scrambled eggs, salmon, and American pancakes. Little food for a lot of money. The pancake was very dry and I didn't eat it. I reported this to a staff member; she said she would pass it on to the kitchen, but I haven't heard anything since. What really bothered us was that a staff member was visibly advertising outside the restaurant. This went so far that they filmed without permission while we were eating. Even though it might have been aimed at the food and the tables, it felt uncomfortable and disturbing. While filming, another staff member dropped a beer glass, causing guests to have to be moved. Subsequently, they cleaned with a strong-smelling bleach, and the smell lingered, further negatively impacting the dining experience. Furthermore, when paying the bill, the staff tried to charge an extra €10 for tea and coffee, even though this should be included in the breakfast. It was only corrected after I pointed this out. Nothing was done about my complaint regarding the pancake; I received an apology and was offered the option to get someone else to help only when I went to pay. By then it was too late for me; I declined and indicated that I would never return here. In the end, I paid €22 per person for plain toast, salmon slices, egg, and a drink. I completely agree with the reviews that it is way too expensive and you get very little value for your money. At first glance, the restaurant looks hip and stylish, but if you observe closely, it is dirty (salt and pepper mill sticky) and there is an unprofessional atmosphere. Never again!

We were looking for breakfast: Broox! Delicious platter with pancake, fresh toast, salmon, and scrambled eggs with a coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. A complete breakfast, very satisfied. Sitting and enjoying ourselves, and with luck, outside in the sunshine. Very attentive and friendly service. And importantly to start the day off right: super tasty coffee! Highly recommended

This was my first time here. We were looking for a restaurant that simply exuded simplicity. A restaurant you walk past and think: yes, I can sit here and enjoy a nice meal, without having to put on a ball gown. We entered and were greeted by the owner (I think) and the waiter. We could sit wherever we wanted. The chairs were comfortable. The general atmosphere was good. This is a place where you can just sit quietly. I felt very much at home. I don't like those restaurants where everyone is eating in fancy clothes. So this was a perfect restaurant for me. I ordered a satay with fries. Wow, that was delicious. The portion was just right. Not too much and not too little. I haven't tasted the cocktails yet, but they looked very good. I heard from other people that the poffertjes and pancakes here were really good. I'm going to try those next time.

Unfortunately, my visit wasn't entirely positive. The service was slow and uncoordinated: the cappuccino arrived well before the crepes, which I had to wait a long time for. When they were served, the crepes were slightly burnt, which partially ruined the experience.

The staff were a bit condescending when I complained about the food. I ordered a rare steak, but it was more like a medium. "But sir, did you cut it? I can't make it any redder..." It would have been fine if you were a chef. I also ordered a pancake with pineapple and cheese, but received plain. I sent it back, and less than two minutes later it came back with cold cheese and pineapple. I ordered a beer, and received the wrong one, so I returned it. The staff all looked like they weren't interested and generally made too many mistakes. The shrimp burger was tasty, but I don't think it contained real shrimp. The burgers were otherwise good and tasty. We certainly won't be back, which is a shame.

Fantastic place. We had no idea where we were heading tonight, and came across Broox. We were made very welcome with our baby. My husband enjoyed his burger and my satay chicken was gorgeous.

The cutlery was dirty. The food was not good and overpriced. The coffee was too small for the price. The other guests also seemed dissatisfied. Splitting the bill apparently wasn't possible. Overall, not a pleasant restaurant. Not recommended.

The waiter wanted to charge us €70 for our €30 bill and was extremely annoyed when we asked him about the price.

A sort of glorified snack bar, with greasy tables and crumb-covered chairs—it's anything but cozy inside. The absolute highlight? €7 for a Texel beer by the bottle. In this corner of Rotterdam, there are plenty of places where you can enjoy a more atmospheric, tastier, and even more affordable drink and food.

It's unbelievable what they charge for the quality they deliver. I'm not usually picky, but this is rare. Incredibly bad for way too much money. Absolutely not recommended! After complaining, nothing was resolved. I returned my dish and paid the rest, and I'll never come here again.

Way too expensive for what you get. €25 for salmon and nothing else. The hamburger was a flattened, thin piece of meat. It was nothing special... A few (you can count on one hand) chips as a side dish. Outrageous. And all that for €18. We'll never come back here again.

In a word: fantastic! The service is very friendly and attentive, which pleasantly surprised me, especially since there were only two of them. The food is truly excellent, and the drinks are also carefully prepared; the coffee is especially excellent! A quick tip: updating the chairs and tables would really complete the experience. Loose elements are easily fixed, and after that, everything is truly perfect!

Some time ago, we were looking for a restaurant in Rotterdam where we could literally enjoy a delicious meal and feel that the preparation had been meticulously taken care of. Today, my granddaughter wanted pancakes. We never imagined or expected that this restaurant not only served delicious pancakes, but also the tastiest Black Tigers dish I'd had in a long time. COMPLIMENTS!!! We will definitely be back to enjoy other dishes. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Had another delicious meal at Dutch Diner today. It's always cozy and delicious. I've been coming here for 27 years now, and it's always my favorite place for poffertjes. The steak here is always perfect, too.

We went for lunch this afternoon—well, you can hardly call this lunch anymore. We ordered bread and croquettes, and to my horror, I discovered my bread was moldy. Unfortunately, I'd already eaten quite a bit by then. When I told the staff there was mold on the bread, their only response was, "Okay, I'll take it back." Nothing else. No apology, no question about how I wanted it resolved, nothing. The owner later apologized and said, "I'll take the croquettes off the bill," but as a business owner myself, I would have handled this differently and let my customers leave without even charging. I felt sick the entire afternoon. A truly awful and disgusting experience.
