How I enjoyed it here! From the moment you enter, friendly staff and a warm and welcome feeling. The drinks were delicious and the price-quality ratio was great. And I haven't even mentioned the service yet. A nice spontaneous waitress who came to have a chat and brought the food with a smile. Lots of light and a beautiful interior. Perfect place for a nice lunch or an afternoon of studying. So in short: Chapeau to Anne and Max, see you next time!

Scandalous. High tea: 1 lousy pot of hot water for 3 people. Literally begging for more water. Grumpy service. 1 slice of chocolate cake, 1 blueberry muffin, 1 apple pie (not fresh) for 3 people to share. 2 curry wraps to share with 3, 2 more wraps to share with 3, 2 sandwiches to share with 3. Yes, 3 scones!! But 1 very tiny bowl of custard pudding and 1 very tiny bowl of cream for 3 people. The tea bag didn't even fit in it! Reserved at 2:30 pm, kitchen closed at 3 pm, looked away at 4 pm. SCANDALOUS!!!! Worthless

I had such a delicious meal here a few weeks ago that I brought my friends along for another round. However, this time it was very disappointing. It was already warned that the food would take longer due to understaffing. Now that wasn't necessarily a problem. I ordered the power bowl. When it was served I was a bit surprised at the size of the bowl. Seemed more like a side dish. In addition, it was actually mainly couscous with a few slices of radish. The tomato was missing and there were beets in it that belonged in the other bowl on the menu. I got the feeling that the kitchen had just thrown something in a bowl. Then I ordered an iced tea, which actually tasted like cold tea with sugar. When I walked upstairs I saw a very young lad standing in the (open) kitchen wearing iPod earphones. It doesn't look very professional either. I'm normally a huge fan of this place (especially the one near the Cathedral), but this was truly a disappointment, especially for what you pay for it. Unfortunately I didn't say it on the spot and only realized later how disappointed I was. I am also mainly sending this review with a request to properly train the staff to prepare the meals/drinks correctly.

The coffee was good and the place is nice and cozy. The service was average. Had the club sandwich. Was like a club sandwich made by AI, every element is a bit off. The bread was cold not toasted, used mustard instead of mayo, the bacon was raw, and the chicken is processed deli meat, and there was no cheese on it. So, it was a sandwich, and it tasted ok, but if you want a club don’t order it here.

We came here to round off a bachelorette weekend with lunch for 15 people. We were given a platter of food to share between three people. The soup was cold, some lukewarm, there were two half slices of bread per person, a small square of focaccia, enough for each person to eat 1 cm, eggs for a maximum of two people, and two small dips. No water was brought to us, even after asking three times. We didn't get our juices until much later after our meal (we had to ask ourselves), too little, and the glasses were dirty. So we had to wait another fifteen minutes for clean glasses. It was also cold upstairs. The coffees were good, though. Ultimately, we were still hungry and thirsty after lunch. After sharing our experience, we asked for compensation and received it. However, we still paid too much for what we received. The excuse was that it was busy and understaffed, even though the restaurant was sparse and we had booked a month in advance with a group.

What a disappointing experience. I typically leave very upbeat and generous reviews as I tend to encourage local businesses and spread some love in the process. This time, I can not do that, unfortunately. The place is neat, bright, and cozy. The service is almost non-existent. We were never welcomed or asked to order. We used the qr code instead. The brunch was suboptimal for Anne and Max standards. We went to the branch in Utrecht city centre and ordered the same meals there (Maximilano focaccia and stack of goodness club). The meals were unrecognisable. The focaccia should have never been dished out in that condition. The salad was sad, old, and too little to be considered a side. The focaccia was broken, miniscule. The dish lacked TLC, attention to detail, and flavour. My sandwich club was roughly cut, the tomato slices were badly cut, the whole dish was sloppy, smudged, and unpresentable. It really breaks my heart to write this review as I am a very easy client. 💔 the crisps were so not what they serve at the other branch. They were tiny, crumbled, underwhelming. I ordered a latte with oat milk. Clearly, the milk was not shaken enough as there was very little oat milk in my drink. This message is dedicated to the managers of the branch. Please keep an eye out for standards. Anne and Max has great potential, don't let it slip down with a sloppy service experience like this.

This store should really be closed down. You can't do this to guests. There was nothing on the menu, flexibility and hospitality were hard to find. The food that was available was very mediocre, the filter coffee machine was broken, the cake was frozen. It was food from hell

Very nice cozy place. We ordered their specialty Dutch breakfast. It was very good. Highly recommended. The breakfast included scrambled eggs, a few different types of bread, croissants, chocolate chips, yogurt with jam and granola. On top of that you can have a homemade juice of your choice.

Ordered a toogoodtoogo box this morning around 11:00. I was already on my way to pick it up, then it canceled 20 minutes before you could pick it up. Dramatic service, never come here again.

Nice place to have tea or coffee. Tea was fine, service was adequate and it was a bit empty as they close at 3pm. Modern furnishings and lots of light.

Ate here a couple of days and both the food and coffee are great. They have a nice selection of healthy food and drinks and portions are generous. Had some nice sandwiches as well as warm soups. Really enjoyed also the nice coffee.

After waddling through the center of Utrecht for an hour, we thought we had finally found a nice place with a place to have lunch. It seemed like luck, but afterwards we understand perfectly why it was so empty. The boy who helped us clearly had no catering experience and was absolutely not customer friendly. The menu promised something that we did not receive because 'there was a comma wrong'. We had dinner (one of us had a child's portion at full price) (I wouldn't settle for this either as a child) and when we left not a word came out of the boy except 'okay' when I asked if we could pay. No questions asked what it was like, whether it had tasted and a 'have a nice day!' was certainly not an option. Pity. Expectations were high

Looks nice, but they didn't have a lot. We had the Maximiano but no tomato, arugula or seed mix in sight. They also had no club sandwiches, several focaccias and no power bowl... the cook was on a trip to the supermarket, so we had to wait a little longer.

I cycle past this place every time, but I never knew what was inside. First step inside there was a cozy and nice atmosphere and the coffee was also delicious. All compliments to the workers there, what a beautiful job they do :).

Nice place, can get very busy on weekends. Had to wait in line for a while (10 minutes). Nice employee gave us vegetable shot samples because we were standing in line, very sweet of her.

We came for brunch and got the breakfast for two menu. It's a nice set with different kinds of bread, however I wish there was more bacon. There wasn't enough eggs and bacon and my partner wasn't fond of the spinach in the scrambled eggs. Still, everything tasted good. We liked the smoothies as well. The staff was friendly and the café had lots of tables available when we came. So you won't have to book a table in advance if you wanna come here. However a big minus is that the seats weren't cleaned at all. When we arrived, the sofa bench was full of crumbles. All in all, it's a nice place to have brunch if you're near the central station. But not the best brunch spot ever.

It's a bright and spacious place with good coffee and fresh juices. The breakfast was tasty, however I was expecting more options for that. The service was very fast and friendly.

A cozy and welcoming place just next to the station. The layout and choice of furniture are wise and the quality of food is just great. We ordered a two-person menu and we didn't regret it at all.

Just loved it! Had the best focaccia I ever ate and the personnel is very friendly and not too pushy. I'll definitely come back when I visit Utrecht again!

Food was okay, nothing special. Service took forever (40 minutes before someone came to take the order), otherwise not interested in either the clientele or the food. All this reinforced by a stone cold case. We sat with the jacket on. No, it wasn't fun.

Delicious food for the first time at an Anne&Max branch. Partly because Anne&Max is a customer at Livar where I work. Enjoyed a delicious lunch with one small drawback, it was a pity that the plastic lip was open in the soup. (can happen) But unfortunately nothing was done about it after reporting. Furthermore, a great lunch with honest dishes. Definitely enjoyed it and definitely worth repeating.

The barrel still has to come in. At least on the weekend. But Anne & Max have an excellent menu with tasty treats and lunch dishes.

Nice new place, surprising menu

You're at UCS but youre just a little tucked away from the hustle and bustle and the coffee is good and some of the tables are good for getting work done. It's my go to spot when i need a workspace near the train station.

The food was great, staff was friendly, but service was super slow.

Sitting all on its own Anne&Max is easily overlooked as you pass by to somewhere else however it's definitely worth stopping by, being particularly handy for the nearby NH and Plaza Hotels. The place is spacious, pleasant and airy, staff are friendly and the coffee is very good. Its also handy as it opens early on a Sunday morning and does a good breakfast range.
