This was not good, the plan was to eat here, but after a drink we left. Dirty wine glass, minimal amount of wine and mess when pouring, no nuts like at the other tables, cold service, atmosphereless setting. And that for 10 euros per glass…

Took the menu arrangement with colleagues. Wonderful tasting. Nice friendly service. Delicious wines. Recommended!

The excess of form over content. The combinations of flavors, mainly sour, are incomprehensible to me. Tightly drawn shrimp. A plus for the decor, atmosphere and service. The food was miserable.

1 star for the poor service. You would expect more from an establishment like this. Don’t recommend to come here for a celebration.

I dare you to take your significant other to this culinary delight. Located across from Central Station in Amsterdam, the vibe is right. The food is better. My friend and I took advantage of the 80 euro per person menu. It seemed like we would enjoy endless courses of dishes inspired by land and sea. Since I know the menu will change soon, I am saying that Arca's team really know how delight your taste buds with their artistic and high-class flare. Abrigado!!! I hope I spelled that right. In addition, every staff member was attentive to providing great service. They all worked as a team to deliver a wonderful experience. Finally, the craft cocktails are amazing. Thank you for being wonderful hosts. I will return for their new menu, coming soon.

My expectations were high, we had eaten in Arca before, which we really enjoyed. The last time, however, was the starter, the Mushrooms in sweet and spicy sauce, broom salt, as well as the vegetarian main course, rice, which had no vegetables.

The octopus was phenomenal and the desserts truly memorable, especially the cauliflower tart.

Ik wilde hier al zolang eten. Nu hadden we een bedrijfsfeest gehad. Ik had mijn allergieën doorgegeven, hier werd geen rekening mee gehouden. Wat voor zo n classe restaurant apart is. Qua drinken moest je je houden aan hun keus en 30 minuten voor einde event moesten we al weg. Het personeel was bot. Verder hadden we muntjes voor de cocktails, deze moest boven gehaald worden waardoor je de groep uit elkaar haalde. Ik ben echt teleurgesteld in deze avond!!

Unfortunately, a disappointing experience We visited as a group of four, hoping for an enjoyable evening, but unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. The staff was okay – not particularly friendly, but not unfriendly either. However, what immediately stood out in a negative way was the atmosphere: it was very loud, and as the evening progressed, the music was turned up so much that it became impossible to hold a normal conversation. Even the waiters had to shout to make themselves heard. Regarding the food: for starters, we ordered the Atum Tataki once and the “Selection of Bread” three times. For the main courses, we had the Posts Mirandesa for two people as well as two other dishes. Taste-wise, everything was just “okay” and definitely not worth the rather steep prices. A look into the open kitchen revealed that many ingredients came from pre-packaged products, which doesn’t exactly suggest freshness or quality. The absolute low point came later: three out of the four people in our group fell ill with food poisoning that same night. This is not only unacceptable but also raises serious concerns about the restaurant’s hygiene standards. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this restaurant. The food was average at best, overpriced and most importantly, posed a health risk. Definitely a one-time visit for us.

Fancy some fancy food in Amsterdam? The very stylish Arca restaurant has you covered. The food was exceptional, and the service was attentive without being intrusive. However, back to the food. The attention to detail in the presentation is clear. The dishes all tasted as beautiful as they looked as well and, just as important, the texture had not been neglected either. There are some unusual flavours on the menu, particularly within the desserts. However, don't let that put you off. Occasionally my taste buds were confused, but they were always delighted.

Decent food and decent price for city center. Atmosphere was quite loud.

The food was really delicious, you can feel that a lot of skill and labour goes into it! The portion size is also very satisfying, you definitely aren't leaving this place hungry. Had a great time dining out with my girl!

Amazing Second time and again 100%

Tuvimos una cena privada en la parte baja del establecimiento. El ambiente no era lo mío, demasiado moderno. La comida era definitivamente lo mío, delicioso. ¡El pulpo y la carne holandesa, vaya! El postre también era delicioso.

The restaurant is very closed to our hotel! The ambiance is good but nothing special, it’s artsy , the service is good! The filtered water is expensive at $4.5 a person, the foods are Asia inspired fusion Portuguese, maybe I have had better so they don’t impressed me, it’s ok! The veal cheers are the best, soft and tender, the sea food rice is nice , the fish dish recommended by the server is soso, but it’s supposed to be their signature dish! We are too stuffed to try their desserts!

With a price of 80 euros for 6 dishes, expectations are high. Unfortunately, you cannot achieve that with probably 200 covers in 1 evening. Nowadays you can eat ceviche and raw tuna in every eatery. The paella-like risotto had a lot of fat, it floated in the oil with neatly 1 mussel, 1 half scallop and 1 shrimp as garnish. It's also a shame that the award-winning dessert is not included in the regular menu. Because we took extra long to prepare the rice dish, because the courses came by at a killer pace, we then had to wait 45 minutes for the next course (because the meat dish was already on the plate after 10 minutes, the chef even came to check whether it was could already join) For 80 euros I would also add an amuse to the menu. Very unfortunate. A typical restaurant where you go with your business associate, but not to enjoy a culinary treat as a duo.

Een chic en prachtig restaurant. Uitstekend eten met goede wijn. Daar hebben we van genoten. Maar er is veel te weinig bedienend personeel. Het was bijna onmogelijk om ook maar enigszins de aandacht van de bediening te krijgen. Dat irriteerde ronduit. In een restaurant met zulke prijzen mag dat niet zo zijn. Tegelijkertijd was het overbelaste personeel zeer vriendelijk en we hebben dan ook een goeie fooi gegeven. Falend management is niet hun schuld. Maar we komen er niet snel opnieuw.

Arca has a beautiful restaurant with high end finishes. However, the dining hall is too large and too loud to have a fine dining experience. The food is good, although none of the dishes were amazing. Waiting staff is really good, but they have too many tables, or simply too much workspace to take care of.

Recomiendo encarecidamente no visitar este restaurante. El servicio fue extremadamente decepcionante, con el personal mostrando poco o ningún cuidado o atención a los clientes. Desafortunadamente, la experiencia no valió la pena el tiempo o el dinero. No puedo recomendar este lugar y sugerir evitarlo por completo. Hay muchos lugares encantadores en Amsterdam, pero esto no es.

Nice place, but would I go back again? Vryatli. I took a set of 6 dishes, everything was delicious, the only thing in 5 out of 6 was paprika (bell peppers) in different forms. I love it, but by the 4th dish I was already tired of this paprika taste. I understand that this is more of a tribute to tradition, but when even one of the desserts was brought with paprika, I managed to get upset. Of the entire set, I didn’t really like the tuna on a bed of vegetables. The vegetables took away all the flavor and there was no tuna at all. Everything else was good, but again, if you are not a fan of paprika, I will not recommend it. I would also like to mention pork - I have never eaten such tender meat. Very tasty! And the chocolate dessert with ice cream and caramel sauce is the perfect combination of textures and flavors. Also, the tasting menu portions are quite large, which is very pleasing.

The major disadvantage is that during the evening the music from the adjacent cocktail bar becomes louder and even annoyingly overbearing. Not a good idea, mixing restaurant and cocktail bar.

A very good restaurant, 10 food, all of very good quality, high price but normal for the capital. The service is ok but for the category of the place it could be better. But hey, we ate very well and I recommend it. Yesterday it was ADE and there was a terrible DJ destroying the speakers with very bad music and probably going red because it was saturating everywhere. For other years they should control that, since it is very annoying and be careful, I am a professional DJ, I know what I'm talking about.

Stopped by for lunch during the week and it was really nice. The food was delicious even though it was not their dinner menu. Service was very friendly, but it was quite slow for some reason. We waited 45 minutes to get the first course, but we got free snacking almonds to keep us entertained. The restaurant is part of the hotel and it's pretty spacious. I'd love to come again for the dinner and try out the chefs menu.

Met een prijs van 80 euro voor 6 gerechten zijn de verwachtingen hoog gespannen. Dat kunnen jullie helaas niet waarmaken met ws 200 couverts op 1 avond. Ceviche en rauwe tonijn eet je tegenwoordig in elk eetcafe. De paella achtig risotto was veel de vet, het dreef in de olie met keurig 1 mossel, 1 halve coquille en 1 garnaal als garnering. Erg jammer ook dat het award winning dessert niet in het vaste menu zit. Omdat we extra lang over het rijst gerecht deden, omdat de gangen in een moordend tempo langs kwamen, moesten we vervolgens drie kwartier op de volgende gang wachten (omdat het vleesgerecht na 10 minuten alweer op de plaat stond, de chef kwam zelfs kijken of het al mee kon) Voor 80 euro zou ik ook een amuse toevoegen aan het menu. Erg jammer. Een typisch restaurant waar je met je zakenrelatie heen gaat, maar niet om gezellig als duo culinair verwend te worden.

The restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere with an extremely welcoming, professional and friendly staff. The food is really refined and combines recipes from all over the world with a Portuguese twist. The result is delightful. If you are an enjoyer of exquisite food, this is the place to go. You can expect to pay around 50-60€ per person.

Absolutely amazing! I felt home and food reminded me to be in the Atlantic Ocean.

Food was unfortunately disappointing. Very dry pork and chicken thigh, whilst tasty was also on the tougher side. Cannot fault our waitress who was polite and welcoming and also the manager who offered us multiple solution to our food complaint. However at times felt inattentive especially with offering more drinks and the bill was delivered by someone dropping it onto our table whilst walking past. Overall a nice atmosphere in the restaurant but cannot see us returning any time soon.

Fine dining of really tasty Portuguese flavoured dishes. The restaurant however has a cold and cheap feeling to it, giving the vibe of a hotel cafeteria, with the music a bit too loud and uninteresting! All in all, the value for money is unmatched!

Toda una experiencia gastronomica. Reserve el hotel Art Otel de amsterdam por tener bar, restaurante, piscina temperada y cuando llegue me encontre con este restaurante destacado. Realmente sobresaliente. Me fui por el menu degustacion de 78 euros por persona, que consistia en 1ero pez marinado, 2do atum tataki, 3ero arroz de marisco, 4to puerco rostizado con tocino y migas de pan, 5to postre de berries, 6to cafe bayley, y 7mo petit four, todos los platos fueron de todo mi gusto y en cantidades perfectas, acompañado por un Old Fashioned de aperitivo y una botella de Diba, vino blanco portugues. Toda una experiencia que dias despúes repetiria como despedidade mi estadia en Amsterdam.Felicitaciones al equipo de Arca.

Food was delicious but the service can be a bit better. Our host was great and knowledgeable but felt like the courses were coming in a bit too fast. Best dish of the tasting menu was the seafood rice. The acoustics of the space is also not the best especially if their bar area is packed

Hidden gem. Surprising Portuguese secret restaurant in the city center. Food at almost star level. Tears in my eyes, what special dishes. What flavors, what smells, colors, combinations, textures. Angels on your tongue. We ate almost all the starters and desserts. Good wines, top service. Bar is also recommended. A bit of lounging there, especially with the music. I had already had a drink there with snacks. Also tasty. The combination of the raw building, modern design, art everywhere, very mixed company, makes it interesting, hip and also simply 'own'. What a party this evening was. Thank you. We'll be back in two weeks.

First rate experience here, from the welcome, to the service, to the food. Excellent set menu with very good choice of accompanying wines. Our maitre’d was exceptional throughout the evening.

Booked relatively last minute and was surprised they had a table on such a busy weekend (IBC). Made me a little nervous but I didn’t need to be. Stunning restaurant - up-market and stylish decor, lovely cocktail lounge to have a drink before the meal, and a lovely buzzy restaurant. The food is incredible - by far the best Portuguese food I’ve eaten outside of Portugal! The ibérico ham dish was ridiculously good. Also recommend trying the experimental desserts (Cauliflower tart with curry sorbet!?) because they’re delicious too. Only issue we had was waiting a very long time for the food. We were a very chatty party of 3 so we didn’t mind, but we ordered food at 8.30 and didn’t get anything until 9.35. But as I say, we didn’t care and kudos to the manager who proactively apologised despite us not even raising the issue. He gave us free drinks too. So honestly, can’t fault them. But if you’re… less patient…. Worth knowing that could happen

We had some drinks and bites in the bar area. Nice cocktails. Mediocre food. Reasonable croquettes, tasteless bread with tomatoes. Terrible bifana sandwich: spongy bread with fat tough pork meat. I miss the love for food and presentation.

I was extremely disappointed in my dinner at Arca. I really don’t understand how Arca made it onto the Michelin Guide. First, I was sat down at a table that was dirty. See the photo of a grain rice on my table. This is just plain gross. Next, my partner ordered some wine. The server never let her try it, just brings a glass, so when my partner had a taste it was really sour and she didn’t like it. So we pointed this out to the server. Our server took the wine and said she would check whether it had gone off. Our server came back and just said “That’s how it is”, she offered my partner some Prosecco which my partner accepted. More on that later. The food was mostly unmemorable, would say the desserts are really nice. So if thats your jam then go for the desserts. It was my birthday so my partner gave me a gift mid-meal, at the exact moment our server came by to give us our next course. Our server didn’t even wish me a happy birthday she just said “oh presents already?”. Finally it was the end of the evening. We had to try so hard to get the attention of our server so we could pay the bill. Ultimately, a different person closed our bill out for us and he noticed it was birthday and offered me and my partner a glass of Prosecco. That was really nice of him. But here’s the kicker, we saw the bill and our original server charged us for the original drink €13 rather than the Prosecco €6. This is really disappointing. I don’t think this is anywhere near even a Michelin guide restaurant, the lack of attention to detail (dirty table), the poor service (our original server) and the dessert being the most memorable (food) make this less than average for us. We have been to better non-Michelin guide restaurants and for the price, we could have gone to Sinne here in Amsterdam, paid the same price and Sinne is a Michelin STAR restaurant.

We made a reservation at Arca a few months in advance for a special occasion. We drove 45 minutes only to find out that the restaurant was closed due to kitchen issues. The manager mentioned he tried to call, but I missed the call and don’t have an active voicemail. Strangely, we received an email confirming the reservation just the day before. Clearly, there’s something wrong with the restaurant’s communication. We were very disappointed and couldn’t find anything suitable at the last minute in this part of the city, which isn’t the best. We won’t be coming back. Tip. Try to use WhatsApp

Average food, unattentive service but great atmosphere!

Very disappointing vegetarian options: One starter and one main course. I didn't like the main course, and the waiter suggested a combo of three side dishes. I ended up with a strong gravy as a starter, which could have worked well with the side dishes that came later.

We spent 3 weeks in Europe and ate at some fabulous restaurants, including a Michelin restaurant. Arca Amsterdam was by far the best.

Excellent fusion Portuguese / Asian food in a beautiful setting at the center of town. The bar menu is crafted based on the art exhibit in house with incredible taste. Wine menu features some classics but also great Portuguese choices. The food items are created with care and respect of the traditional ingredients of Portugal. A real delight!

Very, very good restaurant. The food was fabulous and the service even better! Especially to mention David and his petite, blonde czech colleague whose name I'm seriously sorry to have forgotten. The lighting could be a bit better (I'm wearing glasses for a reason), but that is only a matter of personal preferences, so for me no reason to rate down . For me, it is a michelin star worthy experience, from the greeting at the front desk up to dessert.

Loved the vibe and the waitress made it a special night. The food was good but not really exceptional, with maybe a grilled octopus as only exception. For example the tuna tataki had so much atjar-like carrots, and very thin pieces of tuna, you couldn't taste the tuna. You would have the same tasting experience if they left out the tuna. But the tuna is supposed to be the main thing of tataki. It was simply too thin. Some elements of other dishes, simple things like if you got 2 pieces of potato, one was much more salty than the other. The piri piri chicken was really good but also suffered from some elements being not equally salty. Minor things. The food was still a very good experience. Still at this level and especially price they should improve. The wines are really good and the cocktails at the bar are mindblowing! So we will probably return to the bar..

Bang bang. The best Portuguese food outside Portugal. Hands down

It's hard to find good food so central in Amsterdam but this place was great! Good flavour and a unique take on some traditional Portuguese dishes. Although there were some hiccups with the service, some food was a bit delayed, they rectified this without us even complaining which shows that they are paying attention to their guests. We felt welcomed and taken care of. If you are in Amsterdam and looking for a more upscale place to eat this is definitely one to visit.

Great food, some was definitely a conversation starter (the cauliflower tart dessert!) but that’s a sign of a great meal in my opinion. We all had great meals and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The restaurant may be a tad dark for some peoples liking so be ware but we found it atmospheric and the art was a added bonus

We had a wonderful evening at ARCA. From reception untill we left, the staff made sure we had everything we needed. The food was a great combination of tradition and innovation, and the sommelier paired some great wines with it. Definitely a memorable experience and no doubt we'll be coming back soon.

Stayed at the hotel and was too jetlag to go anywhere else. Thank god we ate there. Everything was on point - food, service, drinks. We had scallops for starters and the potatoes and mushroom for sides, rounding it off the beef fillet (shared). Everything was just so good, especially the main. The portions were just nice but if you’re a big eater, then it’s probably not going to be enough. I had a few drinks by myself earlier in the afternoon and was impressed. Asked for cocktail recommendations and they certainly delivered.

Incredible experience! Everything was amazing; every single detail of each dish made the difference between this restaurant and others. Innovative and creative are the best words to describe this restaurant. I felt at home as a Portuguese person, experiencing a rich variety of flavors. The service was also wonderful. It was a restaurant which we find completely by chance but it’s just as well that were there. After the delicious appetizers, we had a delicious main course. We really had a very enjoyable and delicious evening.

We came for a mid afternoon drinks. Trying their appetizers trigger a desired to try the whole experience! Yeah! Then we met David, you know that kind of person that fills a room just by being there! David proposed a different kind of gastronomic experience, we tagged along and there were no regrets! Call it luxury, comfort or called it as is: a Gastronomic climax! What a unique type of mixed flavors, keep an open mind! Overall a 10 out of 10! Alessio and the rest of the knew needs to be praised too!

Arca our favorite restaurant in the whole of the Netherlands!! The atmosphere is casual, the service is fantastic, everyone really takes the time for you, and the food is incredibly delicious!! A tip: take the 6 course menu!! Then you get the full experience of the entire delicious menu, where every plate has a very surprising taste and appearance!! Amazing food .The most mind blowing desert I have had cauliflower tart and green curry sorbet. The maitre d (20s) is young and very attentive .Some minor mishaps in service are compensated by the innovative food. Very interesting art in the gallery downstairs. Great roast potatoes we even had them for dessert.

Restaurant in a hotel. They try very hard to be a restaurant above all. It is a large space of which only a small part is used. Quite dark in terms of decor and lighting. Reception is fine. We take the menu. 1 x classico 1 x costa. An adjustment to the menu is no problem. The Iberian pork instead of the cod. In hindsight it would have been better not to do so. The pork was extremely salty. Way too salty. The other dishes were good to very good. Seabass was very good. The octopus also good. There is a lot of staff. Had 6 different people at the table. Fidgety. All with a good intention.

A spectacular place, the food is wonderful, the staff are very friendly! For those who are Portuguese, it is always good to find a place where you feel at home. I recommend it 😉.

We came with some expectations, considering Portuguese food normally is very good, it was very below average and price quality was not good. I ordered a bacalhau a bras, no taste at all. The pictures of the dishes on the website dont match with the sizing that is served. Bread, butter and olive oil I recommend, the only thing we had that was tasteful.

I enjoyed signature Portuguese cuisine and for one evening I moved to sunny Lisboa Mushroom pica pau, seafood rice and starters , same as suggested wine were beyond our expectations.
