Arepa Shop Amsterdam in Hoofddorppleinbuurt

I went to the weekend brunch in September last year and since then have been regularly checking their socials to see when they will be back. The location was honestly perfect for visiting from outside of Amsterdam, as I could easily drive and park there. The staff were very friendly and seem passionate about their work and food. We had a breakfast bowl, an arepa, and plantains with cheese. All of it was absolutely delicious, though the plantains in particular had a very rich taste. We can't wait to be back in the future.

The Latin Brunch had been on our list for a while, and last Saturday we were able to join in. It was delicious, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We'd love to come back again!

Impressed with the corn pancakes with beef and plantain!

This restaurant does brunches on weekends and we discovered their brunch on Eventbrite. We went there with some friends and the restaurant was in the middle of an office complex which seemed a bit unusual. But we had a table booked and found our table quickly enough thanks to a very efficient and lovely hostess. She took our others efficiently and the food started coming out within few minutes. And it was delicious! We tried arepas, the cheese sticks, cachapas, the breakfast bowl, and both flan and tres leches. The drinks were great too, we tried Tamarind juice, sugarcane juice with lemon and some coffees. Everything was very tasty and fresh. There seemed to be only 1 server who was also acting as hostess so she was very busy and therefore getting our bill took some time. A 3 course brunch for 4 people cost EUR 125 so it was very reasonable. Portion sizes were good too and they had vegan options which were also delicious. Overall I'd rate this place 8/10 and would recommend. Best to go with an advanced reservation.

Good was delicious but as a Venezuelan myself I have to say the dishes they serve are not an authentic version. Sugar can drink was very watery, that was disappointing 😞

Tasty Venezuelan food, good options at fair price. Location is out of way, some effort is needed to find the place.

What a treat. Everything we ordered was delicious, unique to Amsterdam and they were very kind to us. We will definitely be back!

Let's say the concept is not bad. The attention was the best, the guys were very friendly and attentive. However, the food was salty. We ordered cachapa with shredded pork and it was very salty. But the beef soup was too! It was hard to swallow. What was very good were the tequeños. It's a shame, because we had gone to the place hungry to better enjoy the food, and we left, with a bad taste from so much salt and, to top it all off, when we got home, we went straight to the toilet. I don't know, but something wasn't right. It doesn't usually feel bad to my stomach, but in this case it did, both to my partner and to me. It's certainly not a place I would return to.

Muy buena comida, los tequeños son de lejos los mejores que he comido en mucho tiempo 100% recomendados. Las arepas muy bien también, personalmente me gusto más la reina que la de carne mechada. La atención de primera e incluso pudimos conocer a Maya, la dueña y es un amor!

Truly disappointing, the cachapa was very dry and the arepas need more salt. Moreover, the tequeños weren’t crispy enough and this place is quite expensive.

Walk into the office building! We almost walked away because we could not find the place but the address is correct you just have to walk right in. They have Latin brunch on the weekends and you can book on their website. You can also let them know about any dietary restrictions there. The food was so good and the service was very friendly. The fried plantain was delicious and I’ll keep dreaming of it until my next visit. We had torta de tres leches for dessert and it was perfect 🤩 They have some vegan options too :)

We had a great time at Arepa Shop Amsterdam. It's a bit difficult to spot this restaurant as it is in a office building, but the food was amazing! Great Arepas, delicious sancocho and all the rest we've tried was delicious!

Poor service, no attention to basic details. Expected much more authentic Venezuelan food for a restaurant only open once a month. Disappointed, Not worth the hype.
