We received a friendly welcome upon arrival. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We found it a pleasant place for lunch.

Came here twice and enjoyed both visits.

Arie used to be one of our favorite spots, which makes yesterday’s visit especially disappointing. Normally, the loud music and crowded atmosphere start after dinner, but this time it was already incredibly loud during dinner, making it hard to keep a conversation at the table. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to our past experiences either. The smash burgers were dry and tasteless, and the steak tartare had a strange interpretation with a bad overall flavor. The only highlights of the evening were the fries and the risottini balls, which were actually good. Overall, it was a big letdown compared to how Arie used to be.

Not the most comfortable joint for lunch. Quality was good.

The drinks were delicious, but they charged 7 euros for some bread, and then gave us a paltry slice of focaccia. When we asked, the staff were too inept to explain. What a pathetic mess.

Ordered a €16 pastrami sandwich which was the size of a tosti. Honestly one of the worst value for money sandwiches I’ve ever had.

We stopped in for a quick afternoon snack and ordered the Caesar salads – they were mouthwatering! Very tasty and fresh. The service was excellent: friendly, attentive and suitably relaxed. A truly pleasant experience.

We've been coming here for a while now, and Arie truly feels like our go-to spot in De Pijp. It hits the mark every single time. The location is fantastic, of course; from the terrace, you have a great view of the vibrant Ferdinand Bolstraat, while inside, you're embraced by a warm, cozy atmosphere that feels just like a comfortable living room. What truly sets Arie apart for us is the staff. From the moment you walk in, you are seen and greeted with a smile. That genuine, attentive service is a breath of fresh air and, unfortunately, not the standard everywhere in Amsterdam. You feel truly welcome here. And then there's the food and drinks... we had another amazing lunch this time. The menu is just right: not overly complicated, but filled with delicious, high-quality dishes. Whether you go for a generous snack board, the famous Holtkamp bitterballen, or another dish, it's always tasteful and well-prepared. The drink menu is also excellent, with a great selection of craft beers and good wines. Even the details are right here right down to the restrooms, which are always remarkably clean and fresh. Arie is the kind of place where everything just clicks: the atmosphere, the service, the food, and the drinks. Friendly and attentive staff, fast service, and it's just a relaxing spot. I thought the food (and drinks, too, for that matter) were a bit overpriced for what you get. The price difference between the small and large options is far too large; an extra order of fries is €6, but it's literally just a few fries (they taste great, though) and not for that much. Bread options are also not available.

This restaurant is excellent! I’ve visited twice – although I’ve only come for drinks, the experience has always been top-notch. The service is very friendly, the staff aren’t pushy, and they are quick to respond. The wine is really good and high-quality. Highly recommend!

Loved it! I randomly walked in while walking in the city :) The location is very cute, both inside and outside! Food from at least what i had was very tasty too.+ very good 🍺 Bitterballen were great, the other finger food too! I didnt love the “camembert from the oven” which was good but missed something - some honey would make it spectacular.. 👀👀 Just saying Any ways very good experience and keep on at it

Amazing dinner at Arie. Warm atmosphere, fast and attentive service. The food was well prepared , steak was perfectly cooked, sauce was tasty as well. Crispy chicken was delicious, and the burgers amazing and fulfilling. Would highly recommend and would visit again in the future!

Great food, steak was delicious and perfectly cooked. 4* because we paid 9 euros for a bowl of fries.. and 7 euros for the smallest and most basic Caesar salad side you have ever seen. Taking the P a bit charging 24 for a main and then high prices for tiny basic sides. Beer also very good

This was perfect. We ordered burger and cesar salad - I would recommend both. Burger was super delicious and the fries that come with it were superb. The waitress was extremely kind which is rare for Amsterdam (in my opinion). Also the vibe is just so lovely; we were there in the evening. I do recommend!

one waitress was not attentive, very confused and basically whenever asking something replying with "ask someone else". She would then also come asking "do you want bread on the table", while we just ordered from another waitress. Let's say she was confusing everyone and made the experience not very enjoyful. The other waiter and waitress were instead very professional and kind, the food is also good and the atmosphere is nice and cozy

We had (again) a fantastic evening at Arie's. Merle served us that evening, and we were so happy to have her at our table. We received excellent service, and the food arrived quickly. The atmosphere was great, both inside and out. We had a fantastic evening!

Love the cocktails here - porn star martini is the best in the city! Great snacks too. Unfortunately I had a fight with a drunk sitting next to us, it seemed he knew the staff fairly well - swearing and calling me names because I refused to give him my table (that I booked and me & my friend were still busy drinking/eating at) so that he could sit with his friends. Would have appreciated one of the staff members who noticed what was going on to take care of him, rather than having to deal with him myself.

My friends and I went for lunch. It was a place recommended to us. Three of us ordered the Caesar salad. Horrible. It had no flavor at all. The chicken was spoiled and tasted like it had been overcooked. Too much lettuce. In short... there was little love in that food. I don't think we'll go back.

Nice little restaurant in De Pijp. Lovely terrace and delicious food. Only... I'm vegetarian, and then you don't have to wait on waving sausages in the restroom... It's shared between men and women, but for heaven's sake, put a door on that urinal or remove it. Terribly disgusting. I had to use the restroom elsewhere because of the misery. It costs two stars. Shame.

Was looking for a drink to escape the heat and stopped in here. They had a great selection of beer and the bartenders were great to chat with about the city. Ended up staying for supper and their food is excellent too!

We had breakfast on the terrace. They serve you in Dutch or English. The menu is only in Dutch. The service was very friendly. We tried the avocado and goat cheese toast and the cheese sandwich. The portions are large. The coffee was delicious, and they have oat milk.

Awful service! We asked if we could sit outside and they said yes, the table was still unclean with other people’s glasses and plates and they didn’t clean it for at least 10min after sitting us down. We tried to sign for the waiters and were ignored, at some point my partner add to really come up to them and they gave her attitude like she was being ridiculous. They weren’t even busy. After that we left.

An excellent address for a visit to Amsterdam! We were very well received, the welcome was warm and the atmosphere was very pleasant. The cheeseburger is simply killer, even better accompanied by truffle and parmesan fries, without forgetting one of their delicious craft beers. And to finish in style, their Baileys cheesecake is incredible. If I could, I would give them 10 stars out of 5!

The place is not bad, but the female employee is angry. He spoke to us as if scolding. Their snacks were delicious. Their beers were also normal. The environment is not bad either. You can go in between.

Terrible service. We came in and asked to be seated but the blonde host wearing a suit jacket clearly didn’t want to help us. First telling us her colleague would help us, who never did. When she came back around a second time she told us to just sit at a table that was already open when we first arrived. When we requested a quieter seat that was available she just responded rudely with a no, and that was all they had, then walked off and clearly complained to her colleague. Clearly they have an issue with non-Dutch speaking and/or BIPOCs as I’m seeing more reviews like this! We decided to walk out and spend our money elsewhere. I wanted to try this place before but I won’t be returning. Highly recommend everyone try other nicer establishments in the area. Train your staff better!

We were there earlier, but the staff gave the big table to the three white guys behind us. And I heard those guys didn’t have reservations, just like us. Even though there are still another big table available, we were asked to sit in a two person table while being a group of three. When I tried to take an empty chair from another table to sit on, we weren’t allowed to. We left to another bar across the street where better service was provided.

Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. A herb roll was suggested as a starter. That was a good starter. For a main meal it could have been a little more, we ordered an extra plate of nachos. Cocktails are delicious.

In this so-called locals only neighborhood café (name: "Arie"...) the most caricatured image of generations Y and Z comes together to serve pimped-up "nostalgic" dishes at dad's expense. a menu where everything is "normal" - avocado mash, e-bikes and white trousers. despite the name, I didn't see a local. people shout and the conviviality hangs in the air. We stopped when André just blared from the speakers and the alarm of a VanMoof kept blaring. the VVD café of a catering chain.

It doesn't get more fun. Nice pub in a good location with terrace. Prices a bit on the high side, but you know that in Amsterdam. The food was very tasty, but due to the high price, it was only given 4 stars.

We (Anneke & Raymond) regularly come here for a drink in the afternoon (espresso + banana bread... and gl. wine). Also regular lunch. I would like steak tartare (with toasted bread). Always good service, even when busy. On Fri. Feb 21 warm welcome by Yannick, who often serves us outside in the summer. Pleasant! Friday before that by his colleague (name??). Just at the first table, but not our first choice... Other colleagues are always friendly and hospitable! The guests are often much younger than us, but we still feel comfortable there (until it gets really busy, for example on Friday late afternoon. See you again soon!

Wonderful place to have brunch and a coffee with friends. Best place for good weather! Prices varied but pretty standard for amsterdam. The quality of the food was very good aswell as quality of service!

Staff with very misplaced arrogance. Consciously ignore it and the food here is very mediocre. Also way too busy sometimes and no door stop. There are better places in Amsterdam, but that is self-evident at this level.

Had dinner at Arie's last week. Delicious food and the service was really great. Super friendly. Here they get it! The only downside was that the TV (football) was so loud that I couldn't understand a word of what my table companion had to say, but I will definitely come back here again.

Had lunch at Arie with some friends and was super happy to find a table on a busy Sunday morning. Food was delicious!

I was looking for a place to get breakfast and discovered Arie. Very good cuisine, I had Arie’s breakfast, which was very healthy and tasteful (although i would’ve preferred to not have any pepper on my avocado toast - yes, i’m weak), my friend got the american pancakes, which were incredibly tasteful as well, but not as filling as « arie’s breakfast » Great service though and the prices were correct as well I defo recommend going there !
