We enjoyed a delicious lunch with our friends at Atchaya. We love South Indian food.

My go to place since I had it for first time. Each and every item is worth trying. Atmosphere is really simple yet wonderful, the staff members are really polite and food is just top notch. 100% recommended My fav Podi masala dosa Chicken ularthiyathu Chicken biriyani And many more… No marketing needed as this is a silent winner 🤤

I've been here several times and have recommended it to others. There are few good restaurants in the area, but this is my favorite. The service is great, and the food gets a 10 out of 10. I've tried several dishes, and my kids love it too. It's so nice that I can bring my children along.

Food was delayed due to too many people

I visited atchaya recently and enjoyed a solid vegetarian meal. The vegetarian fried rice was flavorful and well-seasoned, though it would be even better with more veggies or some paneer for added texture. The mango lassi was juicy and tasty, a perfect complement to the meal. If you're nearby, it's a great spot for a quick, delicious vegetarian bite. Highly recommend!

Good authentic Tamil style cooking. I have been here few times already and like almost everything I have ordered. Recommend their butter chicken, mixed fried rice, mutton sukka, Rava kesari.

Really good south Indian food. Their onion pakoda is the best you can get in Amsterdam. I have tried pakoda in many places in and around Amsterdam and none of them were authentic. This is the most authentic pakoda you can get outside india. We tried their breakfast dishes as well and they are decent.

Great place! A lot of options across South and North Indian food. The food is very authentic and delicious. The service is excellent too. I love their sambar. The thali is very good too - quite a filling meal. Street parking available in front of the restaurant on both sides of the road.

This is a good restaurant when it comes to South Indian cuisine. They have a variety of options including veg and non veg. Furthermore, I was pleased with the customer service as they were able to make me a Paneer dosa even though it was not offered on the menu. The ambience is quite good too offering a pleasant dining experience. Altogether, happy with this experience.

Best South Indian Meals and Briyani in the town

Earlier we use to love the food and it was best for its taste but since our last 2-3 visits food taste has drastically degraded and also it's quite expensive now....you have to take care of your flavors else you will lose more customers in future

I've been here before and it was very tasty. Now it really was the worst thing I have ever eaten at an Indian restaurant. I had a vindaloo. What I have already eaten 100 times in my life. Here.. Nothing fresh and a strange stuff of cream with Kerry herbs. There is no cream in this dish!!!! Then my stomach hurt.

Having traveled to quite a few Indian restaurants outside of India, I would rate this the best and most authentic South Indian food. We were surprised to find such great native food in Amsterdam. Sica, the owner was very friendly and so were the staff. We highly recommend this for anyone who want authentic Indian food.

During our one week stay in Amstelveen, My husband and I ate here twice. The place is clean and the service, impeccable. The staff are very kind and efficient and the dishes are plentiful and delicious. The ingredients tasted fresh and had just the right amount of spice for my liking. The prices are also reasonable and they pour a heavy glass of wine. :)

Quality of the food has been drastically reduced these days. Our Dine-In experience was so good including the quality of the food. Recently with orders through thuisbezorgd, food is not good. some of the meat (mutton coconut fry) was not cooked fully. Kodi Koora was just some curry with chicken breast.

10/10 food. Absolutely fantastic, delivered super quickly (it was nearby). I had the chicken masala and I really licked my fingers. These are not containers that you can eat twice, but I couldn't finish it in one go.

No where close to Kerala food and the kitchen area stinks if you go near the toilet. I am sure they won’t survive if there is any inspection made. Unfriendly staff who can’t even pack left over for you and they charge for containers. I would never go there or order from there again.

After read a lot of good review comments, we selected this restaurant last week to have lunch with my friend's family and mine. We traveled about 120 km to have our lunch at this restaurant. We had mixed feelings about the food and services. Let me start with the food. We really enjoyed few items namely Era poondu varuval, Paneer sukka, Prawn biriyani that were really tasty. However other items such as prawn chettinad, ceylon parotta and gobi machurian were tasteless and not worth for money. About Service:- Initially a service executive took our order with smiling face. And told us politely that they will stop taking order after 14:30 pm (we didn't know and it was not mentioned anywhere in their web site). However our order was taken. The one star for this person. Then the food was served by another guy. He served the food to us reluctantly which we felt discomfort and disrespect. The way the guy treated us like "Yen-da inge vanthinge". At the end of our lunch, he came and told us that they were going to close the restaurant. And he asked us to leave immediately. This was unexpected and unaccepted. We paid our bill and left the place at once. What we felt was (Mathiyaather vaasal mithikaathe) that we have chosen a wrong hotel. Due this fact, I stopped recommending this place to my local friends because of that guy's disrespect service.

Food was super tasty! Indian combined with Tamil food! Really worth repeating

We were in the extension and it was a bit cold there, but as if there was an invisible wall in the restaurant area, it was wonderfully warm. Good prices, not too expensive and the food was really tasty. I had butter chicken, I think it was a bit on the spicy side but it was good to eat.

Perfect South Indian restaurant

Super nice and welcoming restaurant, the owner very kind. He let us taste a typical dish while we waited for our order. The dishes were delicious, we returned twice during our stay in Amsterdam. Truly highly recommended, very good Dosa but any dish is worth it. When we return to Amsterdam it will definitely be a fixed stop.

16/09/2024 One single Food plate portion is not enough for a person and now the food quality also decreased maybe they changed the cook... I am not sure... recently couple of days ago we ordered a mutton curry (mumsum koora)recipe and the mutton pieces were horrible it was like very small which should not be.. portion was little only the gravy was huge 😎 maybe it's their marketing strategy to make customers fool... anyway I don't recommend Atchaya Amstelveen anymore..good luck next customers

Food in Amsterdam is mostly a miss. Went to traditional Dutch, Indonesian, etc. This was the best place went went to for flavor. The chicken in the butter chicken was fantasticly seasoned and cooked before they put it in the sauce. Great place for a meal.

I give this restaurant 11 out of 10 ratings for taste, food freshness, food quality and service! The drumsticks soup is a must try! True south indian taste! Took me back home with the first bite. The best South Indian restaurant around Amsterdam n Amsteelveen. Authantic foods egg kothu parota is our family fav. We visited frequently and we are always happy with food, to be mentioned it's Pocket friendly. They do best delivery service too.

Been to Atchaya twice. Interesting that the typical South Indian drumstick sambar, eaten in south India with rice, dosai and idli and vadai, appears on the menu as soup. I would greatly recommend the Rasam, samosa, okra fry and the dosa and idli. We had a very tasty but spicy ( as spicy as in Madurai and Chennai) mix called Thali. Will definitely go again!

Had a visit last Sunday for dinner. Food was ok but one of the staff member was very rude. Cutlery was not washed properly when I have shown the same and asked for replacement he had a very rude behavior.

Very very worst hotel ever seen before. We are went that atchaya hotel last Sunday. We ordered egg briyani and fish fry. after 20min they are bring.we feel very hungry that time .we started to eat briyani my daughter suddenly say mummy briyani bring from fridge.i m shocked I check it seems some rice are frozen and chill .still frozen rice not good . I called that owner( 2 owners are there I thought.) one owner is came and he said "we make briyani In lot of process we shouldn't do this means briyani got some fungus." And we ask briyani is freshly make and give to customer is good but that owner say is very different to us.he didn't accept that mistakes. And fish fry also not good .smells raw.and lot of food color in the fish.we called again and tell he said rudely fish is good not bad. Very cheep behaviour. Only money minded.Finally we decided we will not go that hotel never ever . So guys don't go that hotel they are not making briyani freshly. They can make briyani one days or 2 days before and keep in fridge And who one is order they take from fridge and heat pan and give to you. Pls don't go hotel don't spoil your health. We couldn't take photos that time we are tensed on that day.

We ordered egg biryani, but we were served non veg biryani with egg. We found pieces of chicken in it. I am a vegetarian and have eggs sometimes but not meat. When we reported, the restaurant people were not at all apologetic about it. They said they do this when someone asks for egg biryani. This is so wrong and unprofessional. I will not go to this restaurant again!

Tasty South Indian food especially Kerala Food and no this is not Achayan from Malayalam

Initially, the food quality was very good, but now I can feel the quality has been declining a bit. Last week, we visited and found the oil quality was bad for fried items. However, I will still give good feedback on the taste of the food.

Atchaya’s signature dish Mutton sukkha lost it’s flavor. Paratha was so hard that it was difficult to chew .

We were in search of a ok+ restaurant for a quick meal before a concert, and we discovered this Indian restaurant. I ordered the chicken tikka masala, mango lassi, and garlic naan bread—all of which were perfect. Highly recommended 🤗

I used to be a regular customer, but things have changed the last two times. Biryani is not fresh and arm and boiled eggs in the biryani just out from the fridge. Dosa is Ok. I felt the food was not fresh both times, just out from the fridge.

Good restaurant, Basic interiors but amazing food. Whenever I go to south Indian restaurant... Filter Coffee toh banta hai... It was really good. We had Dal Vada -bit oily but crispy and good taste. Sada Dosa was soft and good, I liked it. Chutney and Sambhar served along with it were also tasty. Sambhar was not warm enough. Veg Kothu Paratha - Spicy and Tasty. Bread Halwa - okayish... Looked like aate ka Halwa but taste was not great Not so heavy on the pockets.Friendly staff. Would definitely comeback to tryout other dishes.

I went to this place on a friday at 6pm. There was no customer in the restaurant. The guy directed me to seat at the particular table. I wasnt comfortable seating there & requested to sit at the table which is close to the street, so that I can atleast enjoy the street snd not feel that I am all alone. But the waiter said that its the only place where I have to sit. They have no one at the restaurant, still you are forcing the one who came to your place to do what u want rather than caring about the customer. Horrible. I didnt try the food as I have the enough of the attitude! Rude

Yesterday we ordered Chicken 65, mutton gravy and parota. I don't know how can they deliver such a stale mutton ...very poor quality of food . specifically I asked , do you prepare fresh ? They said, yes. Chicken 65 - for sure it's a week stored chicken. Highly don't recommend this restaurant

Best price with great taste. Only thing i can is to bit improve naan quality. Rest like staff, service and food is awesome

Drove all the way (about an hour) to do a pick up, came back home to realise that ordered food items were not there. When called back the response was , sorry it was busy and we will revert back the money back for the missing item/s. Request you all to check once (if all the ordered food items are there) before leaving the restaurant.

Being a South Indian living in Amstelveen, I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you wanna try the authentic South Indian dishes. I have ordered multiple times here, and I was very happy with each and every order that tempted me to order again. I personally love the non-vegetarian dishes. It's definitely worth visiting here if you miss South Indian taste.

This was our first experience of Indian restaurant in Amstelveen and was surprisingly good. All items ordered were served without much delay and tasted good. Special mention for veg Biryani and bread Halwa, tasted great. Veg Chettinad can do with more vegetables :). Overall a good experience and recommended for sure.

I think it may have been our choice of food we ate (cucumber raita, chicken kottu paratha, idli, gulab jamun, filter coffee etc) of which idli was indeed good, but rest was mediocre and doesn't call us back again

I'm assigning a rating of 1 star, as I don't find an option to rate any lower. This reflects my dissatisfaction with the overall experience and the issues encountered with the food quality and service. I placed an order for shrimp biriyani, but upon receiving it, I discovered a significant number of chicken pieces in the dish. This discrepancy suggests that the biriyani may have been either old or mistakenly mixed up. Regardless of the cause, I find it unacceptable to receive a dish with such errors in it. This incident is the second time I've encountered food quality issues with the same restaurant recently. It's disheartening to face recurring problems with the food quality, and I believe it's essential for the restaurant to address these issues promptly to maintain customer satisfaction. It appears that the restaurant doesn't prioritize customer satisfaction, evident from their practice of serving hot food items in low-quality plastic containers. Many alternatives in the market and other restaurants have adopted better practices. Despite being a frequent customer and placing numerous orders, my recent experience has compelled me to make a tough decision – I've decided to refrain from getting takeout from this place. It's disappointing when businesses seem more profit-minded than concerned about providing a quality and satisfactory customer experience.

Good place to have south Indian dishes and price quality ratio is excellent, not a fancy place though and there is a possibility to improve services, Their Guntur Chicken, Masala Dhosa you must try and our favourite too Update second visit We visited just at closing time, ordered Guntur chick and uttaapa, both were but served of the quality Their special dish Guntur Chicken was not served fresh it seems, the chicken was so hard it felt like it was served after several days of freezing, herbs and everything was great so taking one star back

I really loved this place and safe to say that this restaurant serves the best Indian food in Netherlands, the South Indian food served is authentic and the fish curry was phenomenal! It was the same as what my mother used to make! Looking forward to visiting Netherlands just to come here, along with the customer service, it’s just perfect! They were amply staffed and kind. 10/10 would recommend!!!

The restaurant is my favorite order in/ takeout place. authentic south indian cuisine warms your heart. Plenty of variety to choose from and enjoy. Almost Everything on the menu is recommended.. and do not be shy to try new things.

Delicious food!! Delicious curries and starters. Not the best place to dine for a long time. Main courses arrived while we were still eating the starters. Management speaks English. With five people for and main for 160 euros.

My husband and I came to this restaurant for dinner and my friends told us that it serves Chettinad food and the food we got at our place was not very good so we had to leave. IT staff who work with me told us that food is good so we came and dined here as they told us that really Chettinad food is not served here I am recording here everyone's opinion thanks

Good find in the Netherlands for authentic south indian food... Curry Fried wings, Mutton Milagu rasam and Mutton Ghee Chukka is a must try.

I have tried many Indian food in various places however this Vindaloo was not the good one at all. It was not tasty even the mango lasi was not good at side.

Wholy Satisfied South Indian here reviewing South Indian dishes. Every dish we ordered was really good. Will visit again. Was just a bit too spicy, do mention the spice-level you like while ordering
