It was our first time trying Indian food 🇮🇳 and we really enjoyed it. The girl who served us last night was super friendly and made everything more pleasant. A very nice and peaceful atmosphere.

Just ordered a food delivery (directly via the website). It's been a while as we've been trying all the other Indian eateries in the area but have eventually landed on this place as our favourite. Tandoori Chick(medium) - fanstastic Tikka Masala Chick (medium) - fantastic Lamb Rogan Josh (medium) - fantastic. The extras: Poppadoms- crispy and arrived in one piece and comes with a tasty mint dip 👍 Plain Naan Garlic Naan The only dish we didn't enjoy so much was the tarka daal. Flavour is good but it's more like a soup than a daal (too much liquid). Overall an excellent meal and we'll be ordering again. Delivery was exactly on time!

Been there on our way back home. We tried chicken beryani and chicken tikka masala. Both dishes habe been so good. The service was really attentive and friendly. Toilets were absolutely clean and we didn't have to wait long. Been there at an unusal time ( 4pm.) tho.

Love the taste, the prices are very reasonable, this place is something I now look forward to, every weekend.

Had a great meal. The lamb korma is especially recommended. Not so much for the meat, but the sauce is incredibly tasty. I was surprised that it was so quiet on a Saturday night.

Crazy good food!! After several mediocre experiences I finally understand the appeal of onion bhajis; delicious!! And where else can you eat both excellently as a vegetarian and an omnivore!!

Delicious food! Everything (seems) freshly made and beautifully presented. Spicy, full and tasty. Service was very friendly. When you stand in front of the building you are not immediately enchanted. But inside it looks neat and atmospheric. Really a 9/10 to eat here! Recommended!

Great place to enjoy Indian cuisine! Everything we tried was absolutely delicious. The butter chicken, while a bit sweeter than I expected, was still very flavorful. I’m not sure if that level of sweetness is traditional, as I’ve never had it like that before. But anyway, we enjoyed every dish and didn’t leave a single grain of rice behind.

Amazing food, big portions and they took special care to facilitate my gf’s nut allergy, clearly marking what was safe for her to eat. Also note: if you choose spicy, it’s proper Indian spicy! Only downside: the samosas were a bit dry. But even with that still give it a 10/10

We had planned to visit another Indian restaurant however we ended up in Diwali Palace, I am so glad we did. Food was amazing. Everything we had was brilliant. Highly recommend. Staff is courteous, considerate. We are definitely visiting this restaurant again.

I recently visited this Indian restaurant, and unfortunately, my experience was far from positive. I ended up here only because it was late at night and all the other nearby restaurants were closed. If I’d had any other option, I definitely would have chosen differently. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming. The waiter seemed uninterested and almost annoyed by my presence. There was no greeting, no smile, and I felt like I was inconveniencing him just by being there. This set a negative tone for the entire meal. I ordered the chicken tikka masala, hoping for a comforting and flavorful dish. As someone of Indian background, I have high expectations for this classic, and sadly, it missed the mark by a wide margin. The curry was overwhelmingly spicy, but not in a balanced or enjoyable way—it was just heat, with none of the rich, complex flavors that define good Indian food. The sauce lacked depth, and there was no hint of the aromatic spices or creamy texture I was hoping for. It honestly felt like the dish was made without any real care or understanding of Indian cuisine. As an Indian, I have to reject that dish entirely; it simply did not represent the food I know and love. Overall, the food was mediocre at best, the service was uninviting, and the entire experience left me disappointed. I would not recommend this restaurant, and I certainly would not return unless it was my absolute last option. There are far better places to enjoy authentic Indian food.

We ordered several dishes for delivery. The delivery time would be a maximum of one hour, but after 70 minutes I called myself, first not reachable, then pushed away, called a third time and got the answer that the delivery person was on his way. Indeed, delivered about 7 minutes later, after unpacking it also turns out that the cheesenaan is missing. Incidentally, this was still delivered after about 15 minutes. This is the umpteenth time that something is missing. It is not due to the quality because the dishes are delicious. But why does it have to take an hour to prepare this, hopefully it does not take that much in the restaurant either and not everything is taken care of at once, very unfortunate. We get an e-mail for a review by themselves, filled in but can't save it and can't sent it to them.

The food was super tasty and lots of choice. The atmosphere in the restaurant is also very cozy, and the staff is also very friendly. Highly recommended if you are in Amstelveen!

It was a lovely experience, the food was delicious, probably one of the best Samosas we had, and the rest of the dishes were also really good! We are Vegan and the waiter kindly explained what are the options, what’s recomended. We really enjoyed and even our 1.5 yo son enjoyed a Dal soup, papadums and onion bahjees😊

We always love it here. We come every few weeks. The food is declicious, it’s spicy, just like what we are used to with Indian food. There’s still so much more to try on the menu, but it is really good everytime we go there. Highly recommend it if you have a craving for Indian food. The girl that usually serves is super nice.

Excellent food with lots of choice (if you suffer from choice stress, you may have to think about whether you want this). Very good prices and very friendly service. It may have taken a while, but we got something in return. Quite a number of people with Indian backgrounds ate here and were recommended to us by an Indian. So we already had a lot of confidence in it, which turned out to be right.

Food is good, only the sorbet, 3 scoops of mango ice cream, with a dollop of spray whipped cream was very poor. Friendly service, disinterested management.

Update in 2024, 4 star: Actually took many times takeaway from this restaurant in the past years. Food is great, experience is good, therefore changed to review to 4 start. Original review a few years ago, 1 star: Had dinner with a friend over here. After we asked for the bill, it took 30 mins before we could pay because of pin-machine issue. The waiter didn't explain anything to us until we asked after waiting for 15 mins. We could understand if there was an issue, but at least tell us that and maybe try to offer alternatives or compensation. In the end nothing was offered, no apologies, no compensations. For this poor communication and service, I would give it one star. Would NOT go back to this place.

Had dinner tonight for Diwali The food was very tasty (tikka masala-mild), upon inquiry it turned out that it could also be very mild. Portions were a bit too big for us... We had not taken any starters and still had food left over (average age also 70 so that also counts) I immediately thought that the option of eating 25% less for a 15% cost reduction is a profit plus a chance of a starter or side dish/dessert. More turnover with smaller portions The service was very friendly with clear explanations They could have earned an extra round of drinks from us if they had come by extra times, but it was just as busy and we drink soft drinks/water so no jackpot either. Atmosphere in the restaurant was fine (beautiful orchids too) Healthy food! What makes the body happy (Rice was also really great and beautiful)

Great food. We reserves with a large group (32 people) upfront, with dishes indicated upfront. The time to food on table was a bit slow considering we ordered before already, but food quality was great. Would definitely recommend.

I’ve ordered from here countless times - great value for money and delicious dishes to choose from. The chicken biryani is my personal favourite - spiced so fabulously and a very generous portion. Their potato and pea curry is also incredible. Can’t wait to go back soon!

We hebben bijna opgegraven dat er geen echte smaakvol indian restaurant was in Amsterdam Amstelveen omgeving. Maar vanavond waren we ontzettend blij terug van Restaurant Diwali palace Amstelveen. Zo lekker eten een authentiek India en Nepalese gerechten super lief personeel gezellig ruimte goed stoelen heel belangrijk voor mij. We zijn met zijn 5 voor mij verjaardag gegaan mijn dag was voldaan. Ik wil wel zeggen geen extra heet nemen dat is veel te heet ik hou van pittig eten maar dit is te veel neem medium of veel milder bestellen. De smaak is fantastisch. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 We gaan zeker vaker terug.

We had the best meal. Food was delicious, service was really good and the atmosphere was amazing. We happened to go on Diwali and the place was lively. Portions are big so have it in mind when ordering, the garlic Naan is to die for, the Paneer was amazing and we really enjoyed the Tandoori Chicken.

This is my favourite neighbourhood restaurant. :) the waitress is amazing, quite accommodating and friendly. She remembers you even if you have visited just once and makes sure you are getting the best experience. I would love to keep visiting Diwali! They are a lovely team and amazing ambiance:)

It was my first try with Diwali palace restaurant and they did not disappointed me. I ordered chicken biryani and chicken tikka kadhai with mango lassi and both dishes were rich in taste along with mango lassi. Food and service was amazingly nice. Finally i found a nice and cozy spot for food. I suggest people to try there, you all will enjoy food with rich taste as it should be.

Wat een ontdekking! Geweldig restaurant met een fijne bediening en een héérlijke keuken. Alles mooi gekruid en lekker pittig. In tijden niet zo heerlijk Indiaas/Nepalees gegeten. Aanraders: Onion Bhaji, mixed tandoori, rijst biryani, Khasi ko Masu. Vergeet de nagerechten niet. Wij komen hier absoluut terug en rijden er desnoods voor om.
