Delicious snack sandwiches self-service

Had lunch yesterday with delicious fresh rolls and coffee. If you're looking for a great sandwich at a reasonable price for under 5 euros, go ahead and eat here! Delicious and affordable, but self-service and no cutlery. Friendly staff at the counter, and they'll happily cut your sandwich into bite-sized pieces upon request. A must!

About an hour and fifteen minutes before closing, some fresh drinks were gone. The fresh orange juice too. They didn't want to make a new one. So customer-friendly. Too bad. Atmosphere good. Sandwiches pleasant.

What a cool place for breakfast and a snack time. Variety of pastries and sandwiches with drinks. We dine in twice here. Everything is fresh and tasty. Especially thanks for free toilet for customers. Also free wifi was very helpful. Thank you

Delicious food and fresh drinks!

I have known this excellent concept for years, which can be found in almost every major city in Germany. In the Netherlands, we can also get to know a slightly modified concept. In Alkmaar, we enjoyed delicious sandwiches that were also very affordable. They were also very customer-friendly.

Was there for the first time but definitely worth repeating.

Easy accessibel place for reasonable priced snacks. My favorite is their mushroom soup with egg and bacon Sandwich . Simple and filling. Other pastries are nice too. I keep on visiting them whenever I’m in the centrum. my husband loves their brownies but I guess they recently discontinued (I couldn’t get them every time I visited them in Alkmaar )

Class! Baked goods in Germany are absolute crap - here, there is no comparison! Delicious food and drinks and the prices are fair. Definitely recommended 👍🏻

Even een broodje eten, met koffie en thee. Het ziet er open en modern uit, maar je schuift 'gewoon' met een dienblad langs de broodjes. Pakken en betalen. Er was niet veel meer, dus twee Mexicaanse broodjes genomen. Bediening heel vriendelijk, wilde het broodje wel warmmaken. Dat ging in de magnetron waardoor het brood zacht werd. Er was ook geen bestek!! De aardige bediening kon de broodjes bij de kassa nog wel in 2en snijden. Dat maar niet gedaan. Het management heeft op het hoofdkantoor nog heel wat te vergaderen over praktische zaken binnen de winkels. Op zich vind ik de naam wel goed, laat de rest dat ook zijn.

Easy, inexpensive, fresh meal. If you are in the area this is an easy grab and go or sit and eat meal. I got the Mexican hot chicken sandwich. It was fresh and quite satisfying. Lots of fresh options.

What a great place, very clean and super delicious!

Nicely located in downtown Alkmaar. You can sit very comfortably inside in the air-conditioned room. There are also a few tables and chairs in front of the entrance, although they are not on a flat surface. You can have freshly squeezed juices made. There were 2 different soups to choose from, sandwiches, hot dogs, etc. Everything was very clean. We'd love to come back.

Coffee tastes burnt, the mushroom soup is too weak and takes a little getting used to. All in all a bit too expensive and too small a selection.

You can get a delicious lunch here! I come here very often and it never disappoints. also really reasonably priced. For 2 well-filled sandwiches and 2 large smoothies you pay less than 16 euros (I think it is even less than that)

Staff needs guidance, it's nice to have all young people together. But no one cleans anything. Coffee was delicious and affordable, but the tables and trays are not cleaned. This was a one-off for us. Source of bacteria.

Bins of sandwiches were almost empty at 2 pm on Saturday. Delicious coffee, friendly service and tasty sandwiches. Recommended.

I have eaten here many times, but every time they have a new rule, one time they heat the round bread and the other time they say that we are only allowed to heat the baguette, and every time they avoid heating the sandwich and we have to eat the food cold 🥶 And the funniest thing is that they carry the sandwiches to the dining room with gloves, to show that they are very hygienic, If the place where the sandwiches are placed is available to everyone and usually everyone coughs or sneezes directly on the sandwiches and there is no cover.🤒 I don't recommend it to anyone.

Strange saleswoman Alkmaar. After I indicated that the sandwich was missing bacon, she was annoyed and convinced that that was not the case. Sandwich just wasn't right and got it back with three extra pieces of bacon I paid for it. Then I expect you to get what you want. and not a big mouth. I told her that I don't like her tone and that she can keep the sandwich.

Visited for the first time on Friday afternoon, 2023/04/22; we ordered tomato soup; the soup was rich and the bread and egg burgers were there. We took a short rest here before continuing our day trip to Alkmaar.

The owner came to tell his story after reading the message below. Normally these are cold sandwiches, he said. Perhaps the message from his staff was not received properly 🤷🏼. I think communication within a team is very important. I like coming to backwerk and want to keep it that way. I appreciate the owner's initiative to discuss it. So maybe until next time. You ask for a white sandwich with egg. Yes, that is possible, but just wait 10 minutes. Then it's done, says the girl. Okay. We are waiting. After 10 minutes we get another sandwich with COLD fried egg. How is it possible? The colleagues are laughing among themselves, which comes across as VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Just because I ask for a hot egg. I think this is really bad service. My sandwich is warmed up with effort and resistance. Truly unbelievably UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!

We order a warm round bread with egg, like old times. Weren't there. They arrive with an egg salad sandwich. I say, no, I didn't order that. Want a round loaf with egg on it WARM. They arrive with the attached package, see photo, also still cold. There is no listening at all. You don't feel appreciated as a customer, and then you are also laughed at. IT COULD BE WORSE. SO NOT NICE. WHAT A BAD EXPERIENCE After 10 minutes the owner came to give his explanation. Although we as customers do not feel completely understood, we accept it. So you see again that communication IS VERY IMPORTANT. Everything depends on that. Still, I appreciate his attempt to make things right.

Getting more and more expensive. I understand that prices have increased somewhat. But I don't think the kind of death eaters who "lived under a rock" fit. 2 very customer unfriendly. Anyway, if this is customer policy, fine. Then we go one door further for a coffee, sandwich or a soft drink.

Fine, very tasty sandwiches, acceptable Espresso (!) just no espresso cups, they answer that there are cups, that's right, throw away the papers... I would like to see stone cups, especially with such a good espresso...

Allergies are not taken seriously here, I indicate that I cannot tolerate orange, which is not in the muffins according to the saleswoman. Bought a muffin, 1 bite, stomach ache all day and a clear taste of orange. I will go back a few days later to discuss it with the branch manager. No understanding or listening ear, according to him it only contains citrus fruit and that could not be an orange. Google: The orange is the fruit of the orange tree, which belongs to the Citrus genus It's a shame that as a customer you are not heard and there is no point in asking what the ingredients are if you have allergies.

Super tasty sandwiches. Very clean premises and after we sat down we saw that everything was freshly prepared in the shop. The prices are also great compared to a bakery in Germany. My barbecue baguette and the tuna baguette were very tasty. Clean restaurant with freshly prepared bread rolls and nice staff = 5 stars+
