BackWerk in Wijk 01 Nijmegen-Centrum

Unfortunately, the items that aren't freshly baked are very dry and rubbery. For example, the salmon bagel here is very fresh, crispy, and airy, as I can see from the one at Backwerk in Venlo. The restrooms are absolutely disgusting. They're often dirty, or there's no toilet paper or soap. They should be checked more often. I saw again today that the tables hadn't been wiped down by the staff. Customers had to do it themselves.

The shop is open until 5:00 PM, but when I arrived at 4:00 PM, two employees were loudly arguing with each other—not exactly professional. There were hardly any sandwiches left because they were already clearing everything away. When I asked if they could make anything, I was told they were "closing in an hour" and therefore wouldn't be doing anything. For a sandwich shop like Backwerk, I find that odd and disappointing.

Made the mistake to get a coffee at Backwerk yesterday and whatever that thing was, it wasn’t coffee. So nasty and tasted and smelled like soil. It didn’t even remotely resemble coffee! I don’t know how they’re fooling everyone and how no one has said anything?! Are people so absent from their present moment that they can’t tell the difference? @backwerk what on earth is in your “coffee”??!

They have delicious food and drinks at a very affordable price. We paid about €20 for two sandwiches, one pizza, and two large hot chocolates. The restroom wasn't very clean, but otherwise, it was fine!

Delicious sandwiches. It's a bit odd that you have to help yourself to them and there's absolutely no packaging. It's fine, but I had some concerns about the hygiene, as there are quite a few people there. Anyway: it was delicious. And the price was reasonable.

Coffee snobs will probably hate me, but I simply love this coffee. Furthermore, I find the need for socializing here very low. It's wonderful when I'm feeling hungover. A truly great place.

Went to Backwerk for a to good to go package. We were a bit early but the staff was very friendly. We had to grab the good to go bag ourselves. What made it possible for you to look into all the bags that were there. I can imagine people getting their hands in this. Other than that I thought the content was fine, we had a tuna baguette, warm panini, a brownie, banana bread and a puddig roll that was very tasty. Contents were as described.

I don't want to give a bad review but this is my experience. Went to Backwerk Nijmegen today around 12 noon. Normally I am always satisfied with the sandwiches. This time there was a lady in front of me in line: she grabbed a sandwich with her hand and put it back; there was sauce on her hand and she licked it off her fingers. She then grabbed 2 more rolls (with her licked hand) and put them back. I spoke to Mrs. indicated that what she was doing was not very hygienic and whether she could use the tongs and take away the touched sandwiches. An altercation occurred with Mrs. where voices were raised. Mrs. then started “pressing” the sandwiches with her dirty hands. The 2 employees behind the counter said nothing about this. Mrs. had now touched 7 other sandwiches and lifted and pressed the tops. At the cash register I had another altercation with the lady in question, after which I asked the cashier whether Mrs. I was also able to pay for the pressed sandwiches because Mrs. had touched everything. The cashier did not respond to this. Mrs. then grabbed a completely different sandwich and paid. I only had a pretzel instead of a sandwich because I don't want bacteria from a stranger's licked hand. It's a shame that you don't dare to speak to your customers. Next time I won't trust buying a sandwich from you. It may happen that someone accidentally grabs something with their hand. But in this case it involved taking it, putting it back, licking it, taking a new one, putting it back, taking a new one and putting it back again and then deliberately pounding sandwiches to irritate me. Bah. I pinned at 11:54 am. Just look at the camera footage. And please teach your employees to be assertive and not to put on blinders. It's just really nasty what happened.

I used to come and buy bread when BackWerk was still in the Molenstraat; staff was very friendly at the time. Monday September 25 branch at Plein 1944 very pathetic rude young people. The only thing they are good at is making sure there are no customers. It was very quiet at 4pm. I also saw a healthy sandwich for more than 5 euros. Fortunately, Bakker Bart has been nearby for years! Always busy but also very friendly staff!

This is the strangest sandwich shop in Nijmegen, the first and last time I've been here, I go in and ask the lady can I also have a sandwich made? Yes! she says and I say can I have a salmon sandwich with cream cheese? uh no, she says cream cheese is not part of the salmon recipe Hahahahaa as if they invented their salmon sandwich, I walked on to baker Bart and of course he did what the customer asked for, a salmon sandwich with cream cheese

An old Japanese Chinese man sat high up at the table, sat lower in front of him, saw what he was looking at, boy, foreign girls, who were fucked just as hard, really young and he, he had been a grandfather maybe 6 times already. He had finished my food and he walked to the toilet and walked quickly. I went to the cash register and told him what I had seen and that he was probably helping himself to the sanitary facilities, he was thanked, but bah bah, he should have been a police officer, it can't be that difficult.haha

Beautiful and good quality pastry shop where you can enjoy food and drink in peace. Location is located in the center of Nijmegen near the bus station "Plein 1945" and opposite Primark...

Ok place for fast food, they improved that. 2 years ago was really nothing. I like some sandwiches and some shakes. I will not recommend their coffee and soups. It's much more cleaner then before. I would like just to see there some sandwiches with gluten free option or some salads, and then they will be super fine. Like this they are ok for 2-3 euro.

Have a quick sandwich at Backwerk. Keywords are eating a sandwich quickly and affordably. It's a bit like a company canteen: grab a tray, choose sandwiches, pay and find a table. The range of sandwiches is excellent, and the quality is also nothing wrong (many sandwiches are wrapped in breathable cellophane to stay crispy), you can have products warmed up and get something to drink. The queue for the cash register seems a bit daunting, but in practice it goes quite smoothly. In my case, the rolls were crispy and tasty for a very affordable price.

People who complain about the price below should stop eating outside, because you won't find cheaper sandwiches anywhere else in Nijmegen. Where you pay 4 euros for a small sandwich at something like Bakker Bart, here you pay that for the largest sandwich. Certainly not the most perfect restaurant/lunchroom out there, but the price/quality ratio is excellent.

Wide range, but I always find the freshly filled sandwiches to be sparsely filled. For example, a healthy sandwich always looks very good in the display case, but seems half-filled when you open it.

Corona rules are not being adhered to, not even by the staff. I found it very unpleasant. Sandwiches are okay.

Good place and atmosphere. Came here since I got tired of looking around for a place where to eat something quick and cheap. There’s a great variety of sandwiches, tea, coffee, smoothies, pastries, etc. Also toilet and wifi available, so really convenient to eat something and take a break. Place was also clean and service was good.

Standing in front of the door at 7:45, a young man continues to mop quietly, sees me standing there, then he makes himself a cup of coffee. After 10 minutes, I thought it was nice.

Delicious fresh bread, fresh juice and fresh coffee. It was a shame that the sandwich looked very richly filled, but that was because almost everything was sticking out of the sandwich. The tables were placed properly. Because I was sitting in a corner it was impossible to walk past someone with one and a half meters.

Even trek in een betaalbaar vers broodje , dan moet je hier zijn.daar wij trek hadden in bruin stokbroodje tonijn, wat helaas niet voor handen was.het werd voor ons klaargemaakt. Zo dat was heerlijk zeg!! En betaalbaar ook. Door de corona waren er tussen de tafels netjes schermen gezet.

This is a nice coffee shop with a range of baked goods. They serve a variety of smoothies, sandwiches and bread and cakes. Tea and coffee as well.Tea priced 1.75 Euros and brownie about 1.50. They serve soups as well. @tmosphere- is warm, very near shopping district and if tired from browsing you could relax here. There is no WiFi,which is remarkable since many places in Europe serve free wifi as well. But this is quite good - since it makes costumers think about each other! You can use the restroom only if you have bought something in the store,otherwise you pay 50 cents- that's what they said...🙂. Anyway some of the service is much better in Albania than here, and of course cheaper as well... I still recommend the place but 4 stars! To make 5 stars I believe the place has to have something special about it, which I guess I couldnt find here...
