Super friendly staff, burgers and fries very fresh and delicious. Cocktails highly recommended. We'll definitely be back.

Phew, that wasn't our cup of tea at all. We're used to much better things at de Lakens. Edit: The campsite is run by the same people. Unfortunately, the food at Bakkum didn't taste as good as at de Lakens. The grease tasted old and the fries weren't cooked all the way through. The restaurant here on the campsite, for example, was also better.

Bad food! Moroccan lentil soup? It was just a can of peeled tomatoes with a dash of cream. Furthermore, the menu is very boring, not much more than a snack bar. It's also always the quietest place on the square. And they give out plastic cutlery; even my 6 and 8-year-olds thought that was unacceptable. What a shame that this beautiful place has been taken over by that. Hopefully they go bankrupt soon. Or maybe they'll do better…

We had a drink on the terrace and the kids had a great time in the playground. Great place with good service.

I ordered "loaded fries Indian style with vegetables such as bell pepper, carrot and onion and pieces of vegetarian mince" for €7.50 (!). And what did I get? A portion of fries covered in a thick sauce and fried onions. No vegetables or vegetarian mince to be seen. Upon inquiry, it turned out that the vegetables and vegetarian mince were in the sauce. Sorry, but if you confuse the description of a dish with the list of ingredients, you are not capable of running a catering establishment properly. (By the way, I personally found the sauce unappetizing). 2 stars for the beautiful location and the friendly staff - but certainly not for the food. NOTE: reviews from before 2024 belong to the fish shop, which was there until last year! It is now a snack bar.

Way too expensive and old, smelly frying fat! Go check out Lakens, you could learn a thing or two from them...it's a complete disgrace!

Reviewing again because there are two pins on Google Maps... Sorry, but it's not worth the money. Fries completely overseasoned, Bami slice inedible, and kibbeling for €8 from the freezer. Tip: EVERY other chip shop in Castricum is better and cheaper...

New location has become really nice! Good coffee and nice beer on the menu, so you can sit there for a while. And that playground is really an improvement.

€12.50 for a handful of frozen seafood... I have never experienced it this bad... this is shameless.

Damn, picked up twice and hope they improve this soon. Fries were cold, order incomplete, frikandel/croquette going well. Chicken wings are chunks of chicken in spicy breadcrumbs, fish tastes like plastic. Friendly people but that doesn't make the food any better.

Atmosphereless, dreary, soulless affair. Order at a post, pin only, collect your order and put your magazine back in a rack. And then charge high prices despite all the self-service. One big soft.

Nice atmosphere, but long waiting time and really poor price performance for the bitter garnish!

Two portions of fries, a special frikandel [without onions], a croquette with sauce and two beers during the long wait; TWENTY-TWO EURO FORTY-FIVE But otherwise a super nice atmosphere, screaming infants everywhere. Highly recommended!

Very expensive snack bar, you can save money at the cozy pizzeria where you will also be served!
