Several nice plates but the taste wasn’t special/unique. Very aesthetic. Waitress was nice. The manu isn’t expensive per se but I don’t think it’s worth it. Wine was nice. Wouldn’t repeat tho.

Maybe I'm just not the type for this...that's possible... But this could be so beautiful, fusion Thai... Snacks / Starters *The crispy chicken skin was incredibly thin and tasteless... *The shrimp toastie was okay... Note: The 3-course main course has two options: pork or vegan. I would never choose to offer pork as a main course, because fewer and fewer people are eating pork, especially in the city. The presentation wasn't great either. The food was served on a metal tray from the 80s... The plates were all broken. And you can still see through that when the food is incredibly delicious. I can't lie... The dessert was the highlight of the evening. Black rice with coconut ice cream...in which I also tasted a hint of lemongrass? Super delicious. I also thought it was incredibly expensive, especially the drinks. Only almost 4 euros for a ginger ale. Lots of wine. Few other drinks. The staff is really nice, though.

The food was okay, but a bit monotonous. Service was very uncaring, and it felt like the waiter came every 30 minutes, even though the restaurant wasn't full. I wouldn't go back. The price was too high for the service.

Went for the valentine’s menu. Lovely vibe, friendly waitresses. However, the portion sizes were so tiny in the 3-course menu, that even with 4 shared appetizers, we went to the pizzeria next door straight after. Very vegetable heavy menu with barely any substance.

I ate at Bambino last night and regretted not reading the reviews sooner. What a disappointment. The tables were so close together that you couldn't have a proper conversation with your table companion without the neighbors hearing everything. A three-course meal with a completely skewed price-quality ratio. Beetroot tartare, mashed potatoes with Scottish ergs, and a lick of ice cream for dessert. Shameful for the price. When we were asked if we wanted coffee, we were immediately told that our table had to be free by 8:00 PM. Therefore, another seven minutes for coffee and tea, which was then served (the tea) in a glass carafe that was impossible to hold due to the heat. During coffee, the bill arrived unasked, with the suggestion that we could pay at the cash register. When we suggested, while paying, that it might be helpful to extend the time slot a bit, we were told that we could usually manage within two hours. What a warm, truly customer-focused experience, and all that for 124 euros in two hours. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

€47 and left hungry. Tried three dishes in total + a glass of wine and had mentioned to the server that I was reasonably hungry so asked for suggestions on what to order. Three (vegetarian) dishes were selected, but the volume and flavour of each dish was not impressive. Under seasoned beans; fresh-from-the-garden carrots impressed with freshness but not with any seasonings; and quantity of food was disappointing. When a dish arrived at the table next to me one of the guests said: "this looks like what we might feed a guinea pig" - which felt realistic.

Inventive cuisine and good wine list The choice of dishes is limited

We had aperitivo plates and sparkling wine. Everything was great (carrots, duck, oeuf cocktail sauce). Bread with herb butter is amazing. Highly recommended.

Scandi inspired interior, great interesting food and just lovely vibe. I’m normally a big fan of their natural wines, this time went for a lunch with a cup of good coffee. Recommend 10/10.

Lovely atmosphere, the waitresses were all great and very tasty food. However, the portion sizes were tiny so we will be needing a supper after our three course dinner...

The place is expensive and a bit small but quite good. The portions are not big but the food is great, also the desserts. They serve many wines including the orange ones so quite good for wine and bites type of evening

Hands down one of my favorite restaurant/bars in Amsterdam. The dim lighting, the decor, the staff phenomenal. Small menu, but shortened with purpose. Share a few entree's then dive into their fish burger!!

Bread is amazing (just insanely good), wines too if you're into natural wine. The menu is small, so not a lot of options to choose from. The ladies working yesterday night were really kind and had some good suggestions. Would definitly come back, especially when there's a new menu to try out. 5 stars.

Visited Bambino on a recommendation and I was optimistic, unfortunately did not quite meet expectation. To surmise the below - food was delicious, service was poor. We opted for the four course tasting menu, meaning we would be served 3 of the 6 a la carte options. When asked about dietary restrictions, we did request no fish. When the a la carte dishes were brought to the table, one dish featured anchovies (fish we had requested against) and another was the sourdough bread. We were told none of the other dishes were available, but only after the food was brought to the table. Disappointed to be served sourdough bread as part of a tasting menu. The starters and mains came and were absolutely delicious. For desert, we were told at the start we could have our own choice of desert but when the time came - we were all served the same dish and not given an option. I get the feeling the kitchen was being difficult , and the wait staff had to deal with that. C’est la vie, I wouldn’t be in a rush back.

Delicious place, nice decor and cute dishes. Everything we ate was delicious, especially the ricotta dish with fruits.

Hacia tiempo que quería probar este restaurante porque vivo muy cerca. Muy buena localización donde acuden más gente local y joven (mediana edad). En esa calle hay varios restaurante italianos y siempre hay mucha gente . Bambino es un restaurante pequeño pero lo más agradable es sentarse en la terraza (la acera de la calle) en temporada de verano . Comida creativa donde los platos visualmente muy agradable . La carta no muy extensa y cambia la carta de vez en cuando . El plato de guisantes con calabacín que pedimos estaba , bien de sabor y bien presentado pero el pescado empanado .... SECO... y un poco de salsa picante Samba y ya! Un poco decepcionante. Ración pequeñas. Lo extraño es que no vi la cocina en este restaurante ... el precio es elevado para dos copa de vino , una cerveza y dos plato principal unos 60€ , el servicio bien , amables y atentos . Quizás vuelva a probar otra vez pero por ahora le doy un 3 estrellas . Para mi no vale lo que se paga.

I used to like this place but lately it’s been in decay. The chairs and tables were always extremely tiny and didn’t change so we were NOT comfy. The antichoke was meatless, nothing like Italy. The bread was burnt. Mains also not good a bunch of tasteless veggies. To end this experience I ordered a wine, a bottle, the waiter didn’t hear my order due to noise of other customers and he brought us two glasses, I told him it was the bottle that I ordered not two glasses, he went inside, put the glasses he brought to the table BACK TO THE WINE BOTTLE, and then brought that same bottle to my table. I mean…. Speechless guys. I wouldn’t mind to take that bottle if the waiter wouldn’t put the glasses back like I wasn’t noticing…

Good food albeit on the pricey end for what you get (lots of veg dishes), so I now prefer to come here for a pre/after dinner drink (their wines & cocktail selections are good) and/or dessert. Service generally decent.

The service was quick and professional. We ordered salmon and mackerel. Both are very good- fresh and tasteful. Our appetizers are bread and olives which meet our expectations. The location is also really convenient. Maybe the portion is only the small downside. But I still rate this place 4.5 out of 5.

Leuk lekker restaurant, het eten was goed en lekkere wijn. Onze ober Zoë heeft ons de beste avond bezorgd. We komen zeker terug!😊*chefs kiss*

The asparagus was top notch. If there was an asparagus academy awards, childish bambino would have won best original asparagus AND supporting asparagus. However, I felt like the lead asparagus is a weak play. You can do better, for 45 euros, I would need to see the PROTEIN. One mackerel between 5 is an insult, unless you’re trying to find out who the winner of mackerel snatcher 2023 will be. I loved every second. 2 stars

We had an amazing meal last week. We recommand to go there: it’s really an experience. Every meals was good or delicious and we took a lot of pics to try to cook it again back home ! Go there !!

Zeer teleurstellende avond. De naam Bambino doet toch vermoeden dat er iets van Italiaans eten, bijvoorbeeld een lekkere pasta, op de kaart zou moeten staan. In plaats daarvan een aantal saaie gerechten (geen hoofd met vlees vond ik ook een gekke keuze)… Bij gebrek aan beter maar gekozen voor de fish en chips, niks bijzonders en zeer overpriced.. ik kom hier niet meer…

The best thing on the menu was the sparkling water, but then it went down hill from there. The food was indescribable. Dishes that shouldn't been called a dish. Expensive and no taste... well that's not true, everything tasted like yoghurt. We won't be coming back, even though I love yoghurt.

The food is as good as in mother restaurant Baks, but a bit less complicated and more affordable. The cooking is very creative , with good use of vegetables, herbs and ingredients you don't see very often. Service is good and Quick. The restaurant itself is one of those typical old Amsterdam houses, probably a bit too small and quite noisy, but full of atmosphere.

I live in London and the fish and chips were made to a standard above anything in the UK.

We had an amazing lunch experience. We had the tasting menu for 4 people, the food was plenty and generous. For starters the bread and the egg/anchovies was incredible. The dill and almond milk with clams, burrata and pistachio was also very good. On the mains we had one of the best fish and chips ever, but the langoustine plate was definitely the highlight: perfectly cooked and super fresh. Natural wines were great pairing for the dishes. The service was very attentive (they were really good at pointing out restrictions for pregnancy), but is quite relaxed. We had a great time but we also expend 2:30hrs, which is fine and enjoyable, but if you are looking for a quick bite, this is not. The cook team was also quite cool and chill to talk with. We’ll definitely recommend and be back.
