I had a delicious meal at Bang Kok. I loved the cozy atmosphere and the excellent service. The curry was truly delicious, as if I were in Thailand.

I have been coming here for over 30 years, but what has happened in recent years is really a shame. Let me be honest, the food is still delicious. But the portions seem smaller. I often come alone and want a Bangkok mix for one person, well that is no longer possible, really ridiculous. When I finished my starter I did not get clean cutlery, the used one was taken off my plate and put on the table for the next round. Furthermore I had food left over and I wanted that to take with me, now, that is the first time, I had to pay 0.25 euro cents per container. Furthermore the service is sad, young boys were joking around with each other the whole time. Really not possible, very restless. The prices have gone up a lot. All in all you can get better. You have to pay for reserving a table, never experienced that before. Such a shame...

The food is delicious I am very honest about that! But I do find it very bizarre and very coincidental that I find a hair in my food twice. (Orange curly hair) While I know that I have black straight hair. Friendly lady who works there politely offered a new one and the first time it can happen. The second time I quietly called an employee to indicate that I find it strange and that I do not necessarily expect that I do not have to pay for it But that they should perhaps pay more attention in the kitchen. Then no understanding was shown and I Have to say that there are a number of arrogant employees who cannot smile properly. A very overtyped restaurant And I advise everyone against it. Hygiene is number 1 and unfortunately I have not experienced that here. They also reuse their rice that is left over from customers. I would say Take a look in their kitchen.

We had a nice experience. I ordered the Pork Tenderloin with hot pepper and onion. Members of my family had the chicken pad Thai and Thai curry chicken. All of the dishes tasted good. My pork tenderloin was not tender, but nice flavor. I also ordered sparkling water and they kept giving me flat water but I was charged 7.50 anyway. No big deal. They were short on wait staff, they had trouble keeping up.

Starter chicken rolls were ok, fried rice smelt awful and had big clumps stuck together like it had been frozen and not defrosted properly. Red curry was inedible chicken thighs, practically no chicken! Sweet and sour chicken was ok but not the best. Overall very disappointing.

We had a great evening. The staff was super friendly and very knowledgeable about allergies and intolerances. 1 person had to eat gluten-free and we were very well guided in this by means of advice and a map with everything on it. Hats off for this guidance and advice and we will definitely come back.

First time eating at Bangkok and the food was delicious. We had chicken with cashew nuts, red curry with shrimp (this tasted a bit too much like ginger for my taste), fried chicken with mushrooms and two starters. Everything was served quickly, which we really liked. The restaurant is quite small and quite dark, so you sit a bit close to other guests. It was very busy, so reservations are recommended!

Unfriendly waitress. I asked her to recommend something and she just looked grumpy. Work with me she said. Very difficult. Food was fine. We got the bill without asking just when we wanted to order a second bottle of wine. We had to leave because we only had 1.5 hours. You can't indicate in advance that you want two time slots or something. Center Amsterdam, they just have to sell the table 3 times per evening. The Brazilian waiter (gray nice man) helped us well with the wine.

While visiting Amsterdam and looking for typical Thai food. We found an excellent restaurant in the heart of Amsterdam, very welcoming, clean and the staff were very friendly, not to mention the wonderful food with a mouth-watering flavor. The coolest thing I found was to make a deposit to reserve, so I was sure that my table would be waiting for me and that at the end I received the bill with my deposit debited without to mention anything, amazing. We have been customers for 5 years but this was the last time. It was unfortunately a disappointing experience. We were helped by a Brazilian employee. The food was mediocre and we gave feedback about this, but it was not really received in a constructive way. Bangkok has gone backwards. It has become mass production and service is a 0. We are interrupted every time in conversation and quickly clear up so that you get up quickly. 1 star is still too much.

The rice looked like basmati rice instead of Thai rice. Khau pad kai was also not made in the authentic way. And the portions of rice are too little. I expect that if you order a dish, you will at least receive white rice as it should be and not fried rice because many people do not know how it is eaten and think it is tastier, so you ruin the taste of your dish, but hey, to each their own. I think the fact that I have to order extra rice because you literally give 2 portions of rice for 3 orders is poor. (When I ask if this is the rice and I get the answer: "is 2.5 portions" then it is too little and it is fried :( ! And I felt like I had to eat and fuck off. We were gone within an hour. Not a chill vibe. And it was quite pricey (for little rice).. I won't be back. But to end it on a positive note, 3 of the 4 dishes were fine.

The first thing I find ridiculous is that the reservation costs 50 euros. It is quite busy so you have an hour and a half to eat. I ordered kou pad kai which is supposed to be fried rice with the chicken mixed through it. What I got was fried rice with the chicken on the side with a sauce on top. Not as it should be. The taste was nothing like it either. The rice also didn't look like the Thai rice I normally eat, it looked more like basmati rice, but I could be wrong. When you're done, the table is cleared very quickly, it really feels like quickly. It is a beautiful tent but the music is not Thai so you immediately have a different atmosphere. The price yes it is not cheap 154 ​​euros with the four of them 3 cokes 1 bottle of water and an iced tea. My dish normally costs between 15 and 20 euros. So quite expensive. Unfortunately, I think it's disappointing because this has a lot of potential. But prepare the food as it should be.

I can show you the tank, so you have to pay for this bottle." Well, we felt so overwhelmed because we didn't see it coming, nor did they come up with this compensation themselves. We were so silent and did not understand where this passive aggressive behavior came from. We were truly silent and then responded with; that we do not find it polite and do not like how she addresses us in such a way and that it does not have to be that way, since we are after all there as customers and her answer was this; “I am the manager”. Even if you are the queen, madam; That's not how you treat your customers ;)! What are we talking about a 5€ bottle of water? We only asked is the tap water yes or no and the compensation came from your colleague, which we did not ask for. We got up immediately, paid and left. Dit gaf meteen een onpersoonlijke, haast afstandelijke sfeer – een beetje het gevoel alsof je in een fastfoodrestaurant zit, maar dan tegen een veel hogere prijs. Het eten werd snel geserveerd, misschien zelfs té snel. Dat zou nog een pluspunt kunnen zijn, maar helaas had ik diezelfde avond flinke maagklachten en bracht ik de nacht vooral door op de wc. Al met al voelt dit restaurant als een plek waar het draait om efficiëntie en omzet, en niet om gastvrijheid of kwaliteit. Geen aanrader.

That could have been a plus, but unfortunately I had severe stomach problems that same evening and spent most of the night in the toilet. Overall, this restaurant feels like a place that's all about efficiency and turnover, not hospitality or quality. Not recommended.

My friends and I made our reservations on time, unfortunately we had to wait +- 25 minutes at the door. Plus you couldn't read anywhere whether the food was halal or kosher.

We often come here with our three children and every time it is a party for our taste buds. The food here is really delicious and you can take any leftovers home with you. The food is on the table within 10 minutes and you don't really want to eat after dinner, but if the food is this tasty, it will be gone in no time! Always full so reservations are a must.

Very bad experience. My husband and had reservations for 5:00 PM. When we wanted to come in at 5:00 PM, the restaurant door was still closed. When we stood at the door we received a grumpy look and a dismissive gesture from a lady with an Asian appearance. Bad entry! What was even worse was the food. We had a thom ka kai soup as a starter and we barely managed to swallow a sip. As a main course we had a Thai dish consisting of noodles and shrimp and this was also impossible to swallow. We quickly said goodbye to the restaurant and we honestly felt ripped off. Super expensive and super overrated!

My family and I have been coming to this restaurant for over 30 years and have always recommended it to everyone. The food is still good but the atmosphere and service have deteriorated tremendously. From being ignored upon entry to removing half-full plates/drinks due to... the time limit which was only 15 minutes away. The most bizarre was selling a bottle of tap water for 7.50 ("it has been passed through a filter, so no tap water", "we have been doing it this way for 15 years" and "everyone does that in the catering industry"). I hope the owners read this and if that's how they decided it, shame on you! Our bill is rarely less than 200 euros and I always tip 10%. So that quick 7.50 will cost you a lot of money in the future, because I won't be coming back. Very unfortunate!

The crispy fried beef with mushrooms in oyster sauce currently costs €24.50 for takeaway... And the portions (containers) have become a lot smaller. So the two of you need this dish twice if you want to eat well. This is a restaurant that is located in the centre of Amsterdam, which is easy to access with public transport. We had a good dinner here, but it was pretty expensive and the rice is something you have to pay additionally for. The main dishes they serve are most of the time eaten with rice, so that felt a bit off.

Food was tasty, my husband's coat was stolen. You don't hang up coats or clothes in the restaurant. And when I asked for help I was told that next time I shouldn't hang up my coat and that it was a lesson that I really hated, I wasn't even helped. Woman behind the counter very rude and rude. I had the Neua pad nam man hoy (beef with oyster sauce), the tasty fried rice and the chicken cashew according to the family recipe, and it was all fantastic! The meat was nice and tender, the sauce full of flavor, and the cashew chicken was wonderfully creamy and crispy. The service was truly excellent and made my visit extra special. The staff is not only incredibly friendly, but also knowledgeable about the dishes. They provide enthusiastic recommendations and make you feel right at home, which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. A tip: reservations are a must, because the restaurant is always full! Voor lekker, gezellig Thais eten zit je hier goed. Vriendelijk personeel en een vlotte bediening. Aanrader om hier een avondje stappen in Amsterdam te beginnen. Er staat wel bij dat je een tijdsslot hebt van 1,5 uur. Dit is wel erg krap maar wij werden na deze tijd niet weggestuurd of weggekeken. Komen zeker terug.

Restaurant Bangkok in Amsterdam heeft me echt aangenaam verrast! Het eten was heerlijk en authentiek Thais, met zorg bereid en rijk aan smaak. Elk gerecht was perfect gekruid en het menu bood een ruime keuze voor zowel vleesliefhebbers als vegetariërs. De bediening was een ander hoogtepunt: vriendelijk, attent en netjes, wat de ervaring alleen maar aangenamer maakte. De sfeer in het restaurant is ontspannen en gezellig, met een warm interieur dat uitnodigt tot een ontspannen diner. Het voelde alsof we even in Thailand waren. Het enige nadeel was het gebrek aan ruimte voor een kinderwagen, wat het wat onhandig maakte voor ons gezin. Desondanks was het een fijne avond, en ik kom zeker terug! Een aanrader voor wie van Thais eten houdt en op zoek is naar een fijne, gastvrije plek in Amsterdam.

Bangkok centrum Amsterdam - denk maar twee keer na voordat je daarheen gaat Arrogantie ten top. Ik was van plan bij Bangkok centrum Amsterdam te eten. Netjes van tevoren gebeld voor een reservering. Toen we voor de deur stonden, gaf ik aan dat we ook een kinderwagen hebben. Dat was ik vergeten telefonisch aan te geven, dat gaf ik ter plekke aan. De “manager” van deze tent, een arrogante hoogmoedige blonde dame, vond dat niet kunnen. “Dat moet je wel aangeven telefonisch hè”. De onvriendelijkheid straalde ervan af. Toen ik iets zei over haar toon, dat ze dat ook netjes kan zeggen, vond mevrouw dat ze niks verkeerd deed. Ze zei letterlijk “ik heb geen plek” terwijl de halve tent leeg was. Ze riep, op ons verzoek, de eigenaar erbij die tevens haar man is. Zo bevooroordeeld als je maar kunt bedenken uiteraard, gaf hij zijn liefste vrouw gelijk. Toen mijn zus aangaf de toon niet normaal te vinden en wij vaste klanten zijn van Bangkok, zei hij “ja, dat zijn er zoveel”. Met andere worden, oprotten. De denigrerende houding en nare blik van deze twee was niet om aan te zien en ronduit schandalig. Als ze op een normale toon hadden aangegeven dat het helaas niet mogelijk was met een kinderwagen was er niets aan de hand. Anyways, lieve dames en heren denk maar twee keer na voordat je hier je geld gaat neertellen. 100 andere tenten waar je lekker kunt eten, goeie service hebben en die het volledig verdienen.

Beautiful place and friendly staff! Reservations are definitely a must! We took the dishes with hearts behind them (which appear to be popular), including 1 beef and 1 shrimp. The shrimp were delicious! The beef was fine and the soup just lacked a little spice. The portions are small, but for us it was perfect and easy to share between the two of us. We were satisfied everywhere, we will definitely come back for the other dishes!

Quality has really gone down in recent times. We ordered a dish with mushrooms with a large group, 3 of which were really not tasty! Not properly cooked and a chemical aftertaste in all dishes. That chicken was also a real disappointment. Used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Amsterdam, but certainly not anymore. Today I was helped by a woman who is short and has a bun in her hair. the woman is of Asian descent I assume. madam was very rude to me and my wife. I wish my chicken couldn't be too spicy. unfortunately my chicken was delivered spicy. My wife or madam wanted to correct this. Madam replied very angrily and said no, I don't want that and I'm not going to do that. I used to get very friendly help here, it's a pity that they are now so municipal. I don't come here anymore. I really think it's a shame that she acted like that. my wife was shocked. I am used to them being patient with people and helping people. she spoke in a very sassy tone. the sauce was also too spicy and not tasty. it was very watery. the vegetable was still raw. a pity, very pity. I always enjoy coming here, it's a peaceful and respected place. where friendly people work. you have a friendly and sweet Moroccan boy working there and a very sweet Spanish woman. I don't want to make a problem I just paid and left. I won't come here from now on. After work I took my wife and children here to enjoy the friendliness. I didn't go and leave the food there.

I come here to eat every day. Unfortunately, the quality that this restaurant offers is no longer available, as it was in the beginning, and in fact the quality is hard to find at this restaurant. Today I had chicken with vegetables and a picante sauce. I didn't want it spicy. When I received the dish it was very spicy and watery. I asked a woman if I could have another dish, but unfortunately I was not allowed. then she said do you want me to take it or do you still want to fish in it. The lady means if I want to see if I can get something out of it, like a dog. I don't really think this is a nice comment that the lady made. I respect the restaurant and the staff, because there have also been good moments where I have been able to eat well. It is very disappointing that this has happened. I always felt helped and heard at this restaurant. in fact I felt at home. I am always helped by a very sweet lady who is Spanish. She takes the time and patience with me. again very sad. I came here every day after work to have a nice meal. I'm more concerned with the way the lady addressed me and the word fishing. I'm not a dog that I have to go fishing for a while. Instead of the lady thinking and looking with me and looking for a solution, she says I can't do anything for you. for this reason i don't want to come here anymore. once again you have really good food and your personal are great! The only reason I don't want to come here anymore is because of the action of a short woman with a bun in her hair. I didn't have a problem with it and just paid properly and left. I think it's a shame again because I really want to keep coming for the lovely woman who is 25 and speaks Spanish, she is really super sweet and a great woman.

We went here because we love Thai and Asian food and our landlord recommended it to us. We saw that there is a lot of food in the city, but we didn't want to risk a place that was dirty and made us feel bad. We were lucky that we were served by a very friendly Spanish waitress who helped us decide. The bill came out to €95 for two people. It seemed a little expensive to me. Two drinks, water and beer, and for dinner we ordered white rice (a little bland and lacking in flavor, despite it being white rice we have eaten others without bringing anything, they were delicious), the chicken curry which is Indian style, and The red one (I don't have a photo) we ordered with shrimp and it was too strong with lime kefir, a shame because so much power of that spice ruined it. It was obvious that they did it with powder and not with the blade. And some prawns that the waitress recommended to us that were delicious but were much more spicy than she warned us. We ate on the terrace. The interior decoration is cared for and so is the cleanliness. Going to the bathroom is an odyssey, because it seems like you are entering another world. But that's Amsterdam. I recommend that you wait a little while to eat if you order curry, because it always tastes better when you let the dish sit. I don't give it 5 stars because of the price and the excess of kefir in the curry and because the rice could also improve.

Delicious food and what great service!

Very bad service. I have always been pleased with this restaurant and recommended it to my sister and her boyfriend. Biggest mistake ever. You made them wait an hour for their food. Customers who arrived much later had their food on the table within 10 minutes. After an hour of waiting they left. Instead of accommodating your customers after such a mistake, you just say sorry and then also make them pay for their water. Then just say honestly that service is not your priority and that you don't care at all if you treat people in such a way that they simply leave the restaurant. Never come here again and will not recommend it to anyone again. This is exactly how you lose customers. I'm really disappointed!! Sidenote: the guy who was also working was running everything himself and was really trying his best, it was an older gentleman who took the order.
