Great service, nice and lots of attention to detail. The food was probably the best Thai food I ever had. Meat perfectly cooked, the tenderness, amazing. Can highly recommend it, also the atmosphere was super relaxing

My family and I have been coming to this restaurant for over 30 years and have always recommended it to everyone. The food is still good but the atmosphere and service have deteriorated tremendously. From being ignored upon entry to removing half-full plates/drinks due to... the time limit which was only 15 minutes away. The most bizarre was selling a bottle of tap water for 7.50 ("it has been passed through a filter, so no tap water", "we have been doing it this way for 15 years" and "everyone does that in the catering industry"). I hope the owners read this and if that's how they decided it, shame on you! Our bill is rarely less than 200 euros and I always tip 10%. So that quick 7.50 will cost you a lot of money in the future, because I won't be coming back. Very unfortunate!

Shame!!! Arrived on time for our reservation, after 65 minutes we received the receipt. We indicated that we were still entitled to 25 minutes according to the reservation, but this was resolutely rejected. Our night out was short. This was first date. Never going back

Honestly...the best Thai in Amsterdam and the surrounding area. Always fresh food of very good quality. Nice staff too. Only... Unfortunately it has become very expensive. The crispy fried beef with mushrooms in oyster sauce currently costs €24.50 for takeaway... And the portions (containers) have become a lot smaller. So the two of you need this dish twice if you want to eat well. In addition, the fried rice costs €7.50 and in this case too, 1 bowl is just or not enough for 2 people, so you also spend another 15 euros on fried rice... Those are high prices for Thai food.. Imagine you have to get something for your whole family... You have lost at least 160 euros. Recommended is the Tod-man Goong Freshly made fish cakes from shrimp

Very good food and very nice service

This is a restaurant that is located in the centre of Amsterdam, which is easy to access with public transport. We had a good dinner here, but it was pretty expensive and the rice is something you have to pay additionally for. The main dishes they serve are most of the time eaten with rice, so that felt a bit off.

Food was tasty, my husband's coat was stolen. You don't hang up coats or clothes in the restaurant. And when I asked for help I was told that next time I shouldn't hang up my coat and that it was a lesson that I really hated, I wasn't even helped. Woman behind the counter very rude and rude. Fortunately, the manager came and reassured us!

If you are looking for a culinary trip to Thailand without taking the plane, Restaurant Bangkok is highly recommended. I had the Neua pad nam man hoy (beef with oyster sauce), the tasty fried rice and the chicken cashew according to the family recipe, and it was all fantastic! The meat was nice and tender, the sauce full of flavor, and the cashew chicken was wonderfully creamy and crispy. The service was truly excellent and made my visit extra special. The staff is not only incredibly friendly, but also knowledgeable about the dishes. They provide enthusiastic recommendations and make you feel right at home, which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. A tip: reservations are a must, because the restaurant is always full! This popular place is definitely worth it, and with the excellent service and delicious dishes you will experience a real culinary journey to Thailand. If you like authentic Thai food, you should definitely visit this place!

Voor lekker, gezellig Thais eten zit je hier goed. Vriendelijk personeel en een vlotte bediening. Aanrader om hier een avondje stappen in Amsterdam te beginnen. Er staat wel bij dat je een tijdsslot hebt van 1,5 uur. Dit is wel erg krap maar wij werden na deze tijd niet weggestuurd of weggekeken. Komen zeker terug.

Restaurant Bangkok in Amsterdam heeft me echt aangenaam verrast! Het eten was heerlijk en authentiek Thais, met zorg bereid en rijk aan smaak. Elk gerecht was perfect gekruid en het menu bood een ruime keuze voor zowel vleesliefhebbers als vegetariërs. De bediening was een ander hoogtepunt: vriendelijk, attent en netjes, wat de ervaring alleen maar aangenamer maakte. De sfeer in het restaurant is ontspannen en gezellig, met een warm interieur dat uitnodigt tot een ontspannen diner. Het voelde alsof we even in Thailand waren. Het enige nadeel was het gebrek aan ruimte voor een kinderwagen, wat het wat onhandig maakte voor ons gezin. Desondanks was het een fijne avond, en ik kom zeker terug! Een aanrader voor wie van Thais eten houdt en op zoek is naar een fijne, gastvrije plek in Amsterdam.

Dark and small place, very unsanitary and you are almost in the kitchen. It stinks of rotten meat, the service is very arrogant and haughty. People with children, let alone strollers, are not welcome. Food was undercooked and bland. No halal meat. Nothing like real Thai cuisine.

Blonde lady (owner) is very rude and child unfriendly!!

Years ago it was still at a high level, but that is really different now. Treat yourself to a restaurant where you as a customer are treated decently. This place really doesn't know how to treat people. I won't even start about the rude owner. She really still has a lot to learn. Rushes you to complete your order, doesn't look at anyone and acts arrogant even if you say something about it!

Bangkok centrum Amsterdam - denk maar twee keer na voordat je daarheen gaat Arrogantie ten top. Ik was van plan bij Bangkok centrum Amsterdam te eten. Netjes van tevoren gebeld voor een reservering. Toen we voor de deur stonden, gaf ik aan dat we ook een kinderwagen hebben. Dat was ik vergeten telefonisch aan te geven, dat gaf ik ter plekke aan. De “manager” van deze tent, een arrogante hoogmoedige blonde dame, vond dat niet kunnen. “Dat moet je wel aangeven telefonisch hè”. De onvriendelijkheid straalde ervan af. Toen ik iets zei over haar toon, dat ze dat ook netjes kan zeggen, vond mevrouw dat ze niks verkeerd deed. Ze zei letterlijk “ik heb geen plek” terwijl de halve tent leeg was. Ze riep, op ons verzoek, de eigenaar erbij die tevens haar man is. Zo bevooroordeeld als je maar kunt bedenken uiteraard, gaf hij zijn liefste vrouw gelijk. Toen mijn zus aangaf de toon niet normaal te vinden en wij vaste klanten zijn van Bangkok, zei hij “ja, dat zijn er zoveel”. Met andere worden, oprotten. De denigrerende houding en nare blik van deze twee was niet om aan te zien en ronduit schandalig. Als ze op een normale toon hadden aangegeven dat het helaas niet mogelijk was met een kinderwagen was er niets aan de hand. Anyways, lieve dames en heren denk maar twee keer na voordat je hier je geld gaat neertellen. 100 andere tenten waar je lekker kunt eten, goeie service hebben en die het volledig verdienen.

Our server Andrea was amazing. Very attentive, pleasant and helpful. The food was good. I had the beef fried noodles and my friend had the thai green curry chicken. The portions were huge and we had a lovely time.

Stumbled upon this place as we wanted something quieter but not empty. Service was fast and food was great! Really enjoyed the sweet and sour stir fried chicken and chicken salad.

The food here is top notch and so is the atmosphere. It's just a pity that a woman (Eritrean vgm) is very pushy at the table and constantly makes derogatory comments that we don't order much (I have a stomach condition so I can't eat much) and anyway, what is it to her as a waitress how much we order? Not used to it

Beautiful place and friendly staff! Reservations are definitely a must! We took the dishes with hearts behind them (which appear to be popular), including 1 beef and 1 shrimp. The shrimp were delicious! The beef was fine and the soup just lacked a little spice. The portions are small, but for us it was perfect and easy to share between the two of us. We were satisfied everywhere, we will definitely come back for the other dishes!

Quality has really gone down in recent times. We ordered a dish with mushrooms with a large group, 3 of which were really not tasty! Not properly cooked and a chemical aftertaste in all dishes. That chicken was also a real disappointment. Used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Amsterdam, but certainly not anymore. Also very annoying that the waitress quickly clears your table while half of the group is still eating.

Today I was helped by a woman who is short and has a bun in her hair. the woman is of Asian descent I assume. madam was very rude to me and my wife. I wish my chicken couldn't be too spicy. unfortunately my chicken was delivered spicy. My wife or madam wanted to correct this. Madam replied very angrily and said no, I don't want that and I'm not going to do that. I used to get very friendly help here, it's a pity that they are now so municipal. I don't come here anymore. I really think it's a shame that she acted like that. my wife was shocked. I am used to them being patient with people and helping people. she spoke in a very sassy tone. the sauce was also too spicy and not tasty. it was very watery. the vegetable was still raw. a pity, very pity. I always enjoy coming here, it's a peaceful and respected place. where friendly people work. you have a friendly and sweet Moroccan boy working there and a very sweet Spanish woman. I don't want to make a problem I just paid and left. I won't come here from now on. After work I took my wife and children here to enjoy the friendliness. I didn't go and leave the food there.

I come here to eat every day. Unfortunately, the quality that this restaurant offers is no longer available, as it was in the beginning, and in fact the quality is hard to find at this restaurant. Today I had chicken with vegetables and a picante sauce. I didn't want it spicy. When I received the dish it was very spicy and watery. I asked a woman if I could have another dish, but unfortunately I was not allowed. then she said do you want me to take it or do you still want to fish in it. The lady means if I want to see if I can get something out of it, like a dog. I don't really think this is a nice comment that the lady made. I respect the restaurant and the staff, because there have also been good moments where I have been able to eat well. It is very disappointing that this has happened. I always felt helped and heard at this restaurant. in fact I felt at home. I am always helped by a very sweet lady who is Spanish. She takes the time and patience with me. again very sad. I came here every day after work to have a nice meal. I'm more concerned with the way the lady addressed me and the word fishing. I'm not a dog that I have to go fishing for a while. Instead of the lady thinking and looking with me and looking for a solution, she says I can't do anything for you. for this reason i don't want to come here anymore. once again you have really good food and your personal are great! The only reason I don't want to come here anymore is because of the action of a short woman with a bun in her hair. I didn't have a problem with it and just paid properly and left. I think it's a shame again because I really want to keep coming for the lovely woman who is 25 and speaks Spanish, she is really super sweet and a great woman.

We went here because we love Thai and Asian food and our landlord recommended it to us. We saw that there is a lot of food in the city, but we didn't want to risk a place that was dirty and made us feel bad. We were lucky that we were served by a very friendly Spanish waitress who helped us decide. The bill came out to €95 for two people. It seemed a little expensive to me. Two drinks, water and beer, and for dinner we ordered white rice (a little bland and lacking in flavor, despite it being white rice we have eaten others without bringing anything, they were delicious), the chicken curry which is Indian style, and The red one (I don't have a photo) we ordered with shrimp and it was too strong with lime kefir, a shame because so much power of that spice ruined it. It was obvious that they did it with powder and not with the blade. And some prawns that the waitress recommended to us that were delicious but were much more spicy than she warned us. We ate on the terrace. The interior decoration is cared for and so is the cleanliness. Going to the bathroom is an odyssey, because it seems like you are entering another world. But that's Amsterdam. I recommend that you wait a little while to eat if you order curry, because it always tastes better when you let the dish sit. I don't give it 5 stars because of the price and the excess of kefir in the curry and because the rice could also improve.

Delicious food and what great service!

Very bad service. I have always been pleased with this restaurant and recommended it to my sister and her boyfriend. Biggest mistake ever. You made them wait an hour for their food. Customers who arrived much later had their food on the table within 10 minutes. After an hour of waiting they left. Instead of accommodating your customers after such a mistake, you just say sorry and then also make them pay for their water. Then just say honestly that service is not your priority and that you don't care at all if you treat people in such a way that they simply leave the restaurant. Never come here again and will not recommend it to anyone again. This is exactly how you lose customers. I'm really disappointed!! Sidenote: the guy who was also working was running everything himself and was really trying his best, it was an older gentleman who took the order.

The food was good but they were treated like garbage. At 6:30 PM we sat down at 7:15 PM someone came to us and told us to leave because there was a line outside while we weren't even ready yet. I said something at the cash register. they say with a smile, yes it is busy, really ridiculous and everything you ordered was just not thrown at you, which is a shame because this used to not be the case

Some Belgian cousin works there, apparently the manager is what a shame for such a restaurant with such good food, that guest has ADHD first class and is super rude, thinks it is his own restaurant, immediately fired and sent back to the south

I would like to respond to the previous review. I was the next table and was fully aware of the conversation. The guests forgot to mention that they were extremely rude to the hostess, threatened not to pay the bill for dishes that they had actually ordered themselves but ultimately did not want because it turned out to contain pork (this is clearly stated on the menu). )! Customer is king was called and they had to be served at their beck and call!! We had an extremely delicious meal there, we do that here very regularly and the food and service are always of excellent quality. Very lame to end with a text that even the drinks were bad. How seriously can you take these reviewers...

Most antisocial owner or manager, whatever it was. In any case, it was a lady with blond hair. Want you to pay for dishes that had already been canceled in advance. Food doesn't even really taste authentic Thai. And when it comes to attitude, they can still learn a lot from the “real Thai”. Temperamental, disrespectful and inhuman. Located a few steps away from Rembrandtplein, we passed by this restaurant a few times on the way to/from our hotel and decided to take a chance. Restaurant was busy so making a booking can be useful although we got our table for 2 without any difficulty. Service was very good, attentive and prompt. We were pleasantly surprised with the food quality and its original Thai test. Portions are huge and one should be careful not to over order. We found the prices to be very reasonable, keeping in mind the quality and portion size. Definitely recommended.

I've been coming here for at least 18 years and almost always have the same dishes. Last 2 times, both the fried rice and the main course tasted different. Fried rice was eggy and the main course the onion was quite hard and no longer fried properly. It's also a shame that you can only sit for 1.5 hours, so you can't spend a pleasant evening there.

Na 5 jaren weer een bezoek gebracht, omdat het eten heerlijk was. Ook dit keer was het eten naar tevredenheid, smaakvol en voldoende. Vis in tamarinde saus met jasmijn rijst is overheerlijk. De service was ook prima, niet lang gewacht om bediend te worden, het eten kwam ook binnen 10 minuten. Bij de reservering was al aangegeven dat we anderhalf uur hadden, dat was al ruim voldoende om te dineren. We voelden ons helemaal niet gehaast en personeel was heel vriendelijk. Overall, hele goeie ervaring en we zullen zeker weer langsgaan.

Cozy, friendly stuff, good food, people waiting to get a table (which means the place is a good one). Got simple rice with chicken and 2 people couldn't eat the portion of rice. It was huge and very tasty. We also got a drink with limoncelo and prosseco that tasted good. The place was nice and really good designed. Definitely would go back.

Generally good but there are big black spots of principles which hamper the efforts. I'm not in the habit of posting reviews but this restaurant left me perplexed and I have a very ambivalent opinion of it. Very good food, spicy enough for those who are not used to it. The servers are adorable. The rather hearty dishes are very good. On the other hand, when we ask for a carafe of water (from the tap) we are told that there is none and that we have to take a bottle of water. So what we order and we receive at the table, a glass bottle with an unsealed cap which seems to have been re-filled (from the tap??)… for €4.75 Not to mention that we were made to pay for the doggy bag?! Never seen that, I'm willing to be a tourist but to be openly taken for a cash cow is beyond my qualifications. In fact, despite the talented chef, I do not recommend this restaurant.

The decoration is beautiful, a pleasant atmosphere, it was full but they were able to get a table for three. I don't remember the name of the dishes but one of us doesn't eat spicy food and he ordered the noodles with chicken (it was divine). then the meat that was divine but the portions are very small for the price, the waitresses were attentive to the table but they are not that friendly, only one girl who was super friendly, I personally would not return.

This restaurant is not very welcoming. I was stopped at the front and was not allowed in neither at the bar. Seats were open and I was told that he has no space for me. I don’t know if it was the color of my skin, but I was not dressed inappropriately, especially as a male. I would not recommend for anybody of color, or anybody who wants to be treated well regardless.

Kan het hele verhaal van de avond wel uitleggen, maar nadat wij thuis waren en voor de gein even naar de reviews gingen kijken werd alles duidelijk. Wij waren blijkbaar niet de enige die zo over de bediening dacht, laat staan de prijzen… Belachelijke bediening, echt nog nooit zo iets meegemaakt. Ga er nooit meer heen! Direct bij binnenkomst al op een aparte manier te woord gestaan. na een paar minuten het voorgerecht, en voordat je alles opgegeten had stond er al iemand om de borden af te ruimen, even als de waterglazen die we met ons leven moesten bewaken. direct het hoofdgerecht op tafel, gewoon onsmakelijke service… Het hoofdgerecht laten inpakken en maar mee naar huis genomen, direct betaald en weg gegaan. Het avondje gezellig uiteten heeft ongeveer 45 minuten stand gehouden…

I like the vibe beautifully decorated. The menu is big so much to choose from unfortunately they had no mocktails that would suit the vibe for people that don’t drink. First time Bangkok Amsterdam, we visited Laren a few times before. The tom kha gai is the best ever. Pad Thai chicken also highly recommended. And I have to mention, the waitress was the nicest most helpful lady.

The food was delicious, but something has changed. The table, many more, very close together. The waiter, I saw two acquaintances. We were helped by an English-speaking lady, who was not very friendly.

Very rude staff. The staff had an argument in the restaurant, and I understand that. What a mean manager. I would have run out of here screaming if I stayed any longer.

If you ask your guests to put the food they want to take with them at the TABLE in a take-away container, then you have fallen very deeply in your standards and values. Authentic Thai food - good stuff!

Food was ok, not spectacular. Location is nice. Service was terrible! We got offered on drink, after that thr glasses were empty till we finished the food. We ordered extra drinks, which got canceled because we had to leave, because of the new people that were waiting. Terrible hospitality! They throw you out after 1.5 hours. I won't return and I don't recommend you visit this restaurant.

Best Thai food I’ve ever had. I always order squid when i see it on a menu and I wasn’t disappointed. It was delicious. I had a red curry dish and pad Thai dish as well. Both dishes were also delicious. I was sad to hear they didn’t offer desserts but that’s not the end of the world.

I have dined at Thai Restaurant Bangkok several times, and it never disappoints. The restaurant is situated in a prime location in Amsterdam. The consistency in delicious Thai cuisine, coupled with a pleasant ambiance, makes it a go to spot. The service is quick and friendly. I highly recommend the Chicken with Cashew Nuts, Yellow Curry, Green Curry, and the Crispy Beef in Oyster Sauce. You're served quickly and it's clear that it's because they want you to leave as quickly as possible. So on the plus side you don't wait to eat, on the minus side you feel really pushed out the door. The food is quite good, nothing special, we were satisfied. Alas, because of this feeling of being pushed out (there were three of us and we stayed less than 50 minutes, so I don't feel we wanted to overstay our welcome), we felt it was a bit expensive for the whole experience. I also would like to note that one waiter was nice, the other one pushy - a bit of a good cop/ bad cop approach.

Heerlijk Thais restaurant in het centrum van Amsterdam met orginele Thaise gerechten. Ik had hier groene curry met basmati, die goed pittig was, hierbij had ik een Thais biertje.

Heb eerder bij dit restaurant gegeten maar nog nooit zo slecht ervaren als gisteren. We konden onze laatste hap niet eens afmaken. Er werd ons gemeld dat ze de tafel nodig hadden.
