Beautiful and cozy restaurant next to Rembrandtplein, super well located. We were very well received by Oswaldo who seated us at a great table. Very attentive and super friendly, he made us feel comfortable choosing great dishes after excellent suggestions. The food is tasty, very well served and with a fair price. I loved the whole experience and will definitely return and recommend it! Thank you Oswaldo and team! We will keep great memories!

Used to be a nice restaurant in the past. My last visit was disappointing. After we finished our dinner and before we even finish our drinks the waitress asked us to pay as there were other people waiting for a table (we were never informed that was a time limit!). The food is overpriced and the quality not as good as it used to be. We will not come back nor we recommend it to anyone.

The food was amazing and I probably had the best Pornstar Martini I have ever had. Why did I only give 1 star? After we finished our dinner the waitress did not come back to check in to take our desert order. When she finally approached us we were told we had to leave as our 1.5 hour reservation was over. We had waited 20 minutes with no one coming to our table after they cleaned off our dinner. Not only was that incredibly rude but left all of us shocked. I get that Amsterdam has a lot of tourists and most never come back. I was with one of my family members who lives in Amsterdam and I come there at least twice a year. It was so disappointing. Never again!

I've eaten here twice, and both times I had diarrhea. That probably has something to do with the cheap factory-made sauces loaded with sugar; we won't even mention the quality of the vegetables and meat. The service is quick and friendly.

The power had gone out. We only received a starter and a bottle of water. No one came to tell us that no more food would be coming. After waiting 45 minutes, we decided to leave. Service also means communicating with your customers, and that was completely neglected here. Keeping customers waiting without explanation is simply not done.

Friendly staff. Good, tasty food. Better to have fried rice or noodles... for an extra charge. The portion was large enough to fill you up. Two dishes with drinks for less than €45 is perfectly acceptable.

What antisocial staff! We were sitting comfortably on their patio with a table full of drinks. It started raining, and an employee immediately retracted the awning. We weren't allowed in the restaurant and were literally pushed out with violence. Antisocial and disrespectful. Words can't describe it. That's no way to treat customers, so why do they even have a patio? A place like that doesn't deserve a single star.

🍜 Excellent authentic Thai cuisine at Bangkok Restaurant in Amsterdam, with delicious dishes and friendly service. One small drawback: the prices are a little high for the portions offered. A culinary experience worth discovering, but preferably without having to eat too many dishes.

Ordered Pad thai with chicken, papaya salad and tom yom soup. Chicken was made a bit different than the usual pad thai. Soup was okay but for a small bowl it was 20,50 euros which was a bit on the expensive side. Outside seating was nice. Charged 3,50 euros per glass of hot water which is kind of crazy.

The service was great and the food… simply delicious! A great choice.

We visited this restaurant on a Tuesday evening rather spontaneously after catching a movie. We were really craving some good Asian food and we’re so glad we ended up here! Despite how surprisingly busy it was for a Tuesday night, the manager (I believe his name was Ossy?) went out of his way to find us a table, even though we didn’t have a reservation. That already set a great tone for the evening. We ordered two starters and one main course to share, along with a few cocktails and iced tea. The drinks were honestly a highlight refreshing, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I highly recommend trying the Bangkok Special and the Thai Basil Smash—both were absolutely amazing! The staff were super friendly and had a great sense of humor. A special shoutout to our waiter, Ajubi (I hope I’m spelling that right!)—he really made us feel welcome. And a big thank-you to bartender Stefan, who gave us some great insights into the restaurant and its cocktail menu. Overall, our experience was fantastic. I don’t usually write reviews, but this place definitely deserves one. We’ll absolutely be coming back

Terribly awful service! The owner yelled at us to leave, even though we had a reservation and fifteen minutes to spare. He then insisted on giving us a free drink on the house even though we didn't want one, but in the end, the drinks were still on the receipt, and we had to pay for them ourselves. Rude, loud, disrespectful, and unnecessarily stressful! I won't be coming back here again.

I was walking through Amsterdam and came across this Thai restaurant in the city center. I walked in without a reservation, was warmly greeted, and quickly got a table. The food was excellent, tasted delicious, and the service was friendly. I loved everything. I will definitely be back and highly recommend it.

Horrible servicio, jefe malo y camareros, nos han apresurado a pagar cuando todavía nos quedaban 15 minutos de nuestra reserva mientras nos gritaban. Cancelamos las bebidas que ya habíamos pedido, pero nos ofrecieron bebidas gratis que todavía teníamos que pagar al final! Cuando nos dirigimos a los precios de las bebidas gratis en nuestro recibo y nos dijeron que nunca nos ofrecieron las bebidas en la casa y que necesitaban pagar por ellas de cualquier manera. Antes me gustaba la comida pero nada sabe tan bien como el respeto y el buen servicio del que aparentemente nunca han oído hablar. ¡No vuelvas nunca más!

I have been coming here for over 30 years, but what has happened in recent years is really a shame. Let me be honest, the food is still delicious. But the portions seem smaller. I often come alone and want a Bangkok mix for one person, well that is no longer possible, really ridiculous. When I finished my starter I did not get clean cutlery, the used one was taken off my plate and put on the table for the next round. Furthermore I had food left over and I wanted that to take with me, now, that is the first time, I had to pay 0.25 euro cents per container. Furthermore the service is sad, young boys were joking around with each other the whole time. Really not possible, very restless. The prices have gone up a lot. All in all you can get better. You have to pay for reserving a table, never experienced that before. Such a shame...

The food is delicious I am very honest about that! But I do find it very bizarre and very coincidental that I find a hair in my food twice. (Orange curly hair) While I know that I have black straight hair. Friendly lady who works there politely offered a new one and the first time it can happen. The second time I quietly called an employee to indicate that I find it strange and that I do not necessarily expect that I do not have to pay for it But that they should perhaps pay more attention in the kitchen. Then no understanding was shown and I Have to say that there are a number of arrogant employees who cannot smile properly. A very overtyped restaurant And I advise everyone against it. Hygiene is number 1 and unfortunately I have not experienced that here. They also reuse their rice that is left over from customers. I would say Take a look in their kitchen.

We had a nice experience. I ordered the Pork Tenderloin with hot pepper and onion. Members of my family had the chicken pad Thai and Thai curry chicken. All of the dishes tasted good. My pork tenderloin was not tender, but nice flavor. I also ordered sparkling water and they kept giving me flat water but I was charged 7.50 anyway. No big deal. They were short on wait staff, they had trouble keeping up.

Starter chicken rolls were ok, fried rice smelt awful and had big clumps stuck together like it had been frozen and not defrosted properly. Red curry was inedible chicken thighs, practically no chicken! Sweet and sour chicken was ok but not the best. Overall very disappointing.

First time eating at Bangkok and the food was delicious. We had chicken with cashew nuts, red curry with shrimp (this tasted a bit too much like ginger for my taste), fried chicken with mushrooms and two starters. Everything was served quickly, which we really liked. The restaurant is quite small and quite dark, so you sit a bit close to other guests. It was very busy, so reservations are recommended!

Unfriendly waitress. I asked her to recommend something and she just looked grumpy. Work with me she said. Very difficult. Food was fine. We got the bill without asking just when we wanted to order a second bottle of wine. We had to leave because we only had 1.5 hours. You can't indicate in advance that you want two time slots or something. Center Amsterdam, they just have to sell the table 3 times per evening. The Brazilian waiter (gray nice man) helped us well with the wine.

While visiting Amsterdam and looking for typical Thai food. We found an excellent restaurant in the heart of Amsterdam, very welcoming, clean and the staff were very friendly, not to mention the wonderful food with a mouth-watering flavor. The coolest thing I found was to make a deposit to reserve, so I was sure that my table would be waiting for me and that at the end I received the bill with my deposit debited without to mention anything, amazing. We have been customers for 5 years but this was the last time. It was unfortunately a disappointing experience. We were helped by a Brazilian employee. The food was mediocre and we gave feedback about this, but it was not really received in a constructive way. Bangkok has gone backwards. It has become mass production and service is a 0. We are interrupted every time in conversation and quickly clear up so that you get up quickly. 1 star is still too much.

The rice looked like basmati rice instead of Thai rice. Khau pad kai was also not made in the authentic way. And the portions of rice are too little. I expect that if you order a dish, you will at least receive white rice as it should be and not fried rice because many people do not know how it is eaten and think it is tastier, so you ruin the taste of your dish, but hey, to each their own. I think the fact that I have to order extra rice because you literally give 2 portions of rice for 3 orders is poor. (When I ask if this is the rice and I get the answer: "is 2.5 portions" then it is too little and it is fried :( ! And I felt like I had to eat and fuck off. We were gone within an hour. Not a chill vibe. And it was quite pricey (for little rice).. I won't be back. But to end it on a positive note, 3 of the 4 dishes were fine.

The first thing I find ridiculous is that the reservation costs 50 euros. It is quite busy so you have an hour and a half to eat. I ordered kou pad kai which is supposed to be fried rice with the chicken mixed through it. What I got was fried rice with the chicken on the side with a sauce on top. Not as it should be. The taste was nothing like it either. The rice also didn't look like the Thai rice I normally eat, it looked more like basmati rice, but I could be wrong. When you're done, the table is cleared very quickly, it really feels like quickly. It is a beautiful tent but the music is not Thai so you immediately have a different atmosphere. The price yes it is not cheap 154 ​​euros with the four of them 3 cokes 1 bottle of water and an iced tea. My dish normally costs between 15 and 20 euros. So quite expensive. Unfortunately, I think it's disappointing because this has a lot of potential. But prepare the food as it should be.

We thought the water tasted a bit like tap water and asked, since the bottle was not closed (refillable bottle), what kind of water this was and we thought it mainly tasted like tap water. Employee already stated right; "we have a large tank, which makes the taste very similar to tap water. It's not, but if you don't like it, I'm not the hardest, I'll take it off for you" and our answer was; "is good!". 10 minutes later an older woman with an attitude comes to our table, and before we even knew what she was standing for at our table she immediately said; "Ladies, this is not tap water! I can show you the tank, so you have to pay for this bottle." Well, we felt so overwhelmed because we didn't see it coming, nor did they come up with this compensation themselves. We were so silent and did not understand where this passive aggressive behavior came from. We were truly silent and then responded with; that we do not find it polite and do not like how she addresses us in such a way and that it does not have to be that way, since we are after all there as customers and her answer was this; “I am the manager”. Even if you are the queen, madam; That's not how you treat your customers ;)! What are we talking about a 5€ bottle of water? We only asked is the tap water yes or no and the compensation came from your colleague, which we did not ask for. We got up immediately, paid and left. Tot mijn verbazing werd mijn glas, waar nog zeker een derde drinken in zat, zonder pardon opgeruimd. Alsof je een nummertje bent en ze alleen maar bezig zijn met zoveel mogelijk tafels draaien. Dit gaf meteen een onpersoonlijke, haast afstandelijke sfeer – een beetje het gevoel alsof je in een fastfoodrestaurant zit, maar dan tegen een veel hogere prijs. Het eten werd snel geserveerd, misschien zelfs té snel. Dat zou nog een pluspunt kunnen zijn, maar helaas had ik diezelfde avond flinke maagklachten en bracht ik de nacht vooral door op de wc. Al met al voelt dit restaurant als een plek waar het draait om efficiëntie en omzet, en niet om gastvrijheid of kwaliteit. Geen aanrader.

My visit to Bangkok in Amsterdam started with a strange first impression: a mandatory deposit of €25 per reservation. To my surprise, my glass, which still contained at least a third of a drink, was cleared away without mercy. It's like you're just a number and they're just busy turning as many tables as possible. This immediately created an impersonal, almost distant atmosphere – a bit like being in a fast food restaurant, but at a much higher price. The food was served quickly, maybe even too quickly. That could have been a plus, but unfortunately I had severe stomach problems that same evening and spent most of the night in the toilet. Overall, this restaurant feels like a place that's all about efficiency and turnover, not hospitality or quality. Not recommended.

My friends and I made our reservations on time, unfortunately we had to wait +- 25 minutes at the door. Plus you couldn't read anywhere whether the food was halal or kosher.

We often come here with our three children and every time it is a party for our taste buds. The food here is really delicious and you can take any leftovers home with you. The food is on the table within 10 minutes and you don't really want to eat after dinner, but if the food is this tasty, it will be gone in no time! Always full so reservations are a must.

Very bad experience. My husband and had reservations for 5:00 PM. When we wanted to come in at 5:00 PM, the restaurant door was still closed. When we stood at the door we received a grumpy look and a dismissive gesture from a lady with an Asian appearance. Bad entry! What was even worse was the food. We had a thom ka kai soup as a starter and we barely managed to swallow a sip. As a main course we had a Thai dish consisting of noodles and shrimp and this was also impossible to swallow. We quickly said goodbye to the restaurant and we honestly felt ripped off. Super expensive and super overrated!

My family and I have been coming to this restaurant for over 30 years and have always recommended it to everyone. The food is still good but the atmosphere and service have deteriorated tremendously. From being ignored upon entry to removing half-full plates/drinks due to... the time limit which was only 15 minutes away. The most bizarre was selling a bottle of tap water for 7.50 ("it has been passed through a filter, so no tap water", "we have been doing it this way for 15 years" and "everyone does that in the catering industry"). I hope the owners read this and if that's how they decided it, shame on you! Our bill is rarely less than 200 euros and I always tip 10%. So that quick 7.50 will cost you a lot of money in the future, because I won't be coming back. Very unfortunate!
