Probably some of if not the worst Thai food I have ever tried to eat We started by ordering too much. I'm giving it two instead of one because the Thai fish cakes and chicken wings were fabulous. The fish cakes were fluffy and flavourful, the sauce was above average, the chicken wings while lacking spice were tasty and succulent The primitivo was acceptable, the tea a middling bag The service throughout was friendly, helpful and pleasant My companions main course arrived more than 10 minutes before mine. We couldn't see why. My plate came before the rice which had the hardened edge that tells you its been sitting around for a while. Then came the curry and finally the noodles I had actually ordered with it. The tofu on my dish was straight from the packet and thrown into a sparse array of undercooked 'Thai' vegetables with an 80% oil, 18% coconut milk, 2% Thai green curry mix 'sauce' barely contacting the taste buds with a laughable amount of seasoning for a dish with a three chilli rating. Both dishes had way too much sugar I assume to hide too much salt. The pad Thai had a generous amount of (overcooked, dry) chicken fillet but was again unrecognisable as Thai cuisine. The food was confirmed as dreadful when we took the large amount we left to our respective homes where respective family members also rejected it. So much grease also gave everyone who tried it slightly dodgy tummies Avoid this place

Very disappointing experience. I ordered two dishes, one with chicken and one with beef. The chicken dish contained only three small pieces of chicken; the rest of the container was full of mushrooms. I paid €53 for these two dishes, which I find absolutely disproportionate to the quality and quantity. Additionally, the food was far too sweet, as if a kilo of sugar had been added. After contacting them by phone, I was blithely asked if I wanted to come back. To do so, I would have to drive another 25 minutes, and besides, the food wasn't even tasty. For me, this was a one-time thing, never again. A waste of money. I will never order from here again.

I lost my favourite restaurant.The quality went far down.Prices up by 20% in 6 months and i even got sick.The Tofu pieces were burned....What a shame

The tom yum soup was extremely salty and definitely not real tom yum soup. No lemon at all, and way to salty. The somtam salad which is supposed to be a fresh papaya salad, was also very bad. Just a little bit of old papaya, not fresh and a lot of other vegetables that are not supposed to be in a papaya salad were thrown in. Also the staff never came to the terrace, we had to go inside to order. When we were tired of waiting for staff, we left our food and went inside to pay. When i told them the food was very bad, their answer was we should have told them at the beginning so they could have replaced it…. Well, the food was only missing 2 bites at maximum and the only reason we went inside to pay the bill was because they failed to check on us. Avoid this restaurant at all cost! There are multiple way better options for Thai Food in Amsterdam. If the food is bad, sometimes the service can make up for it but in this case all is very bad. DO NOT COME HERE!

Drowning in oil doesn't make something a good meal. Time and time again, I hope it's less. The flavors are good, but the amount of oil used is sickeningly excessive. This was the last order. Unfortunately.

I got the Massaman curry for takeaway and it was incredibly oily, it made me feel sick 😓 After paying 20€ for the dish, I unfortunately don’t think I’ll come back… service was wonderful though!

we love it here. came back twice in one weekend after getting a recommendation from a friend. everyone is so nice even remembered our order after one visit. food is delicious and aunties in the back are working very hard! couldn’t recommend more.

Cozy atmosphere and delicious food!

This used to be one of my favorite Thai restaurants, where I hadn't been or ordered anything for a long time. What I could still remember clearly was that amazing Tom Yam Kay 🍜 with delicious lemongrass and lemon juice 🍋. But after I got home and took one bite, I immediately regretted ordering the Tom Yam Kay… 😞 It didn't resemble the soup that stuck in my memory at all. To my great surprise, there wasn't even any lemongrass in it, even though I paid €10 for it 💸. It was more of a watery soup with some herbs and a bit of chicken 🥄🐔. A real huge disappointment and wasted money. I will definitely never order this again 👎🚫 I also thought it was a shame that there was a young man behind the counter who only spoke English. I had actually expected a Thai person to take my order. I do have to say, though, that the young Thai lady who handed me my Tom Yam Kay 🍜 was super nice 😊

I read the bad reviews but disregarded them because of all the positive reviews, and thought "it can't be that bad"... It was that bad. The paneng really was just an oily soup, the tomyum really was extremely sweet and lacked any sourness and spicyness, the somtum looked like it had been prepared hours ago, not fresh at all. Even the rice was a failure, just an overcooked and mushy porridge... For this price it's really just ridiculous. 20 EUR for a paneng that's worse than something from the supermarkets frozen section? 16 EUR for a less than mediocre somtum? The tomyum was only 10 EUR, but that's because it's tiny and doesn't include rice, so more like an appetizer.

What happened to this place, it was the best Thai in Oost. The taste, quality and freshness of the product is gone. I had a take away, very dissapointing

The first course took half an hour to arrive, the drinks took 15 minutes too, the waiter was unclean and his armpits smelled, the food was swimming in grease. I was there four years ago and loved it, but this time was a huge disappointment.

I ate here years ago, and it was great, and it still is! Aromatic food, tender chicken, Thai flavors, and a Thai beer to go with it. Great service, small, cozy place.

Shrinkflation here too. Not the price, which, considering what was on our plate, was high, but the pad Thai. We had to search for the chicken, a few cilantro leaves, a bit of onion, end of story. The taste wasn't what it used to be either, so no, not for us again.

The food quality is high. You can really enjoy delicious Thai food here. And the price is great.

Last time I ordered from this place, food was all seperated and had a bunch of oil on top. Curry was more liquid then soup, vegetables cooked unevenly. Very disappointing. After about half an hour I got sick from it.

This is the best Thai food we've ever had. We've even had Thaicoon cater our parties a few times because our guests are always so enthusiastic. They also cater delicious meals for vegetarians upon request.

Not the best Tom Yum Soup I've ever had but it was good. The food here is ok. The prices are higher than the quality I expected but it was satisfactory. I give it a firm 3.5 stars just to be fair. I'm pretty sure there's much better Thai around. But I have to admit ThaiCoon is a clever name.

Food here used to be good but now it’s gone down hill. It has been the case for 2 or so years. I remember when I used to think it was best Thai and now it’s below mediocre. Just expensive and very greasy!

Picked up food here. Worst Thai I had in a long time. Food was SWIMMING in oil. It was stunning that despite so much fat the dishes were so tasteless. Cant say much about service nor atmosphere as I only picked up the food.

I have to say I go here quiet often but now it is only out of convenience. Unforunately the food except for one is mediocore. Not sure if they ran out of chicken but when I ordered green chicken curry there was barely any chicken. And as much I support culinary creativity I don't enjoy the cherry tomatoes they try to make work in almost every dish. The customer service? I have to compliment the guys from Bhutan and South Asia they were very nice and respectful to me. The ladies that served me recently were ok, didn't bring me the bill for a while so I just walked up to pay, and as much as a little gesture it is, don't forget to give me the mints. Especially if you give the table next to me :). And as a compliment the duck curry is good, the rest is unfortunately average.

What a crappy place, after an hour of saying it's coming. When everyone around you who comes in later has already been served. And then you come to the table with whatever you ordered.

Así que el restaurante está dividido en 2 habitaciones. Uno parece no estar lo suficientemente aislado, lo que hace que haga frío. La otra habitación tiene la temperatura adecuada, pero han exprimido tantas mesas que está comiendo demasiado cerca de sus vecinos. Una conversación semi privada es imposible y esta parte del restaurante es demasiado ruidosa porque está tan lleno de clientes. La comida: como entrantes tomamos sopa. Soy vegetariana, mi sopa tenía como medio tomate, y verduras totalmente crudas. Sin sabor. Plato principal mi amigo tomó carne de res con albahaca y pimientos. Le gustó mucho. La porción también era bastante buena. Tomé el tai de almohadilla de tofu. Una vez más, muy poco sabor, tuve que pedir un poco de lima un par de veces antes de finalmente conseguirlo y agregar un poco de aceite frío para que sea sabroso. Salí del restaurante exhausto e insatisfecho. El servicio era muy amable.

Este lugar ofrece una buena opción de comida tailandesa fresca tradicional. El curry TOM YAM KAY y el PENANG KAY fue realmente increíble. Lástima que el personal de la cocina parecía un poco estirado mientras tantos clientes para llevar estaban esperando. Eventualmente eso llevó a cierta confusión para otros clientes también y varios platos tuvieron que ser reemplazados ya que estaban fríos aparentemente.

Awful food, swimming in oil and horrible stale flavours. We threw it all in the bin as it was inedible and gave us stomach cramps almost immediately.

Some of the best flavor I've ever tasted, not as spicy as one would expect from a "2 chili" 🌶 🌶 dish. Cash only when we went. Lovely ambiance, great location.

Wait half an hour to take the order, then wait another hour for the food to arrive on the table. The order also appears to have been recorded completely incorrectly. Then we waited another 45 minutes for the correct order. 2 hours later we could finally eat. Afterwards, no discount/drinks were given, but I simply paid the full price.

I remember it from delicious take-away a few years ago, but now total chaos in the kitchen, no service on the terrace and still not being able to order after half an hour.

Unfortunately, they always forget something when you place an order. They don't read the comments or check the order as it goes out the door. The spring rolls are completely tasteless without sauce. And it's always the sauce they forget! Pad Thai very fatty and little vegetable filling. Too much sauce causing the proportions to be lost. Fanta of German import quality; Also called Turkish fanta, but you pay full price. Price and quality are moderate

Isn't what it used to be anymore. We were waiting for an hour and after asking twice the waitress became angry with her colleague that our order did not come through. What was a shame was that when we left we couldn't even get an apology. We won't be going there again!!

Saturday, May 11. Picked up a 21 dinner at this store. It has made me happy. Choice is huge, and completely Vega too! Cucumbers with slices in them, it felt like I was on vacation. This one is highly recommended. I think the best in Amsterdam!

Don't expect good taste. However, go there if you want to eat Asian food. Please note that there are many delicious Vietnamese restaurants in Amsterdam.

The ladys were really kind to me but unfortunately the owner was really disrespectful to me when I ask if the pad krapow have an fried egg on top (what normally have)! He told me that I need to pay extra and eggs is not here is in Italy (no sense 🤣) Overall I did not have my dish complete and I payed for something that was not right at all! Eating a pad krapow with no egg is the same to eat carbonara with no pasta! Horrível experience!

We had just ordered 2 meals, the service was fast so that's nice! Unfortunately, there really is more than an inch of oil floating on both curries, with almost no coconut milk in sight. After calling, the restaurant (friendly) indicates that this is because the oil separates from the coconut milk during the cooking process, but this seems like a lot of oil to me. Rice was unfortunately quite dry and hard, I think not fresh. Very unfortunate because I had high expectations and give them a good review!

Had to walk to the nearest cash point in the rain because I couldn't pay by card. The food was ok but expensive for the price/quality.

- Made a reservation at 7:30pm, showed up exactly at 7:30pm, the staff saw me and just ignored me completely. 5min later the staff just walk to the costomsr behind me and served the other customer. As I complaint, the staff simplily responded he was busy rather than give a proper apology. - Cash only. - food is okish for takeaway, not for restaurant. - the staff are clearly prioritising thuisezorg over dine in customers.

What a nice place. A bit inconspicuous from the outside (okay, it's winter and dark and the terrace is tidy) but very nice on the inside. Nice atmosphere, sweet host who flawlessly stored the order of our group of 5 in his head, including extra wishes, etc. Wow. The food was colorful, fragrant and very tasty. Take the time to enjoy without rushing. I think I'll come here more often.

We were visiting from Manchester, found this on our walk came in the man at the counter was amazing, kind and very friendly. He showed us places to visit whilst in Amsterdam, would definitely recommend visiting this place !.

We went with a group and not everyone ordered a appetizer (some were burned and some overcooked). After ordering we asked several times to get the main dishes at the same time which didnt happend. When it came it was not hot but lukewarm. Paying by debit card is not possible and they asked to receive it cash, after a while we found out we can transfer it by bank. While eating the food it tasted fine, only after to have a really bad night of sleep (maybe because I wanted extra hot sauce, since the dish was supposed to be spicy but didnt taste like it). The overall experience will make me think twice before re-visiting.

Food was not up to the standards, too oily, and lacks flavor. As a foreigner, I didn't know that it was a cash only restaurant. "we are in 2023, and the cash days are almost over!" It wasn't a great experience, and I hope they would work on battering the food

Goed en gevarieerd eten. Van 'niet pikant' via 'pikant' naar 'erg pikant'. Thais dus, en lekker. Prettige bediening en een reservering vooraf is aan te raden. Het was goed bezet. Bus lijn 37 stopt voor de deur, parkeerplaatsen zijn schaars.

Een van de beste thai restaurants van Amsterdam. Altijd vriendelijk geholpen en vertrouwde gezichten. Enige minpuntje is dat er continue bezorgers door het restaurant lopen als je zit te eten. Maar alles bij elkaar onze vaste stek.

Afgehaald. Eten is lekker, goed van smaak en goede porties (mag ook wel voor de prijs). Service is helaas echt onder de maat. Medewerkers beheersen Nederlandse taal onvoldoende waardoor miscommunicaties ontstaan. Moesten lang wachten (vaker zo) waarna ook fout geleverd. Vervolgens hierover gebeld, niet oplossing gericht en niet klantvriendelijk.

Very disappointed. I got an old, dry, hard rice for the carry. The curries were too sweet, full of coconut Milk and nauseous.

Eten was niet op het normale niveau. 1 gerecht was veel te zout. Bleek dat ze andere oestersaus hadden die sterker was. Ze hebben het gerecht opnieuw gemaakt met minder oestersaus. Ik hoop dat het de volgende keer weer top is.

The best, most authentic Thai dining experience I've had in Europe. I've lived in Thailand for a few years, so really miss the cuisine when I'm back in Europe. Cooked by Thais, each dish was delicious and included most of the ingredients you'd find in Thailand. Absolutely loved the eggplants and solanum (Pea Aubergine). Thai Coon even had my favourite Thai beer LEO. Absolutely brilliant, WELL DONE.

I came here to try Thai food for the first time in my life during my stay in Amsterdam, but the restaurant was closed even if Google Maps told me it was open. When I knocked the door and talked with a member of the personnel, I told them that the data on Google Maps were not updated. I updated them in front of this man in order to help future customers and then walked away. The man thanked me and has been very nice, but I couldn't eat any Thai delicacy: I only had the chance to walk away. I will give wo stars because I don't feel like giving just one. At least, that man has been kind to me (in another occasion, the same episode happened but the personnel was rude and uninterested about what I was doing for them).

The food is great but they have always gotten the entire order or a part of the order wrong when I order through Uber Eats. The food is still great but it’s not great if you don’t get what you ordered. Especially if you have allergies this can be a problem.
