scam be aware!!!! food not ordered via ubereats but charged the full amount! nobody responds. Uber does not respond and Yumyum restaurant started blocking my calls! unacceptable

They squeezed us in shortly before closing and had excellent Tofu Pad Thai here, while enjoying the resident cat.

Absolutely DO NOT order from this restaurant through Uber Eats. One of the worst delivery experiences I have ever had. This restaurant has zero sense of responsibility, terrible order management, and shockingly poor customer service. If you cannot handle delivery orders, then do everyone a favor and turn off your delivery service instead of accepting orders you clearly cannot fulfill. I placed my order through Uber Eats before 3:00 PM, with the delivery time scheduled for 7:00–7:30 PM. Guess what? The restaurant didn’t even confirm the order until 6:38 PM. Only then did I discover that the restaurant uses its own employees for delivery, meaning there was no way to properly track the order or see what was actually happening with the delivery through Uber Eats. The scheduled delivery window came and went. No delivery. No update. No communication. Nothing. I eventually had to ask the hotel front desk to call the restaurant for me. And the response from the restaurant was honestly unbelievable. The staff appeared to have no clue what was happening with my order and absolutely no interest in finding out. Instead of actually checking the order, they kept repeating the same excuse like a broken record: “It’s Sunday, we’re very busy, you have to wait another hour.” An entire extra hour. After I had already waited through the scheduled delivery window. Then, after repeatedly refusing to properly deal with the situation, the staff member finally told me he would check the order. I stayed on the phone waiting. And what happened next? The restaurant canceled my order. I received the cancellation notification on my phone while I was still waiting on the phone line. A few seconds later, they hung up on me. That is not customer service. That is simply unacceptable and incredibly disrespectful behavior. If you are too busy to handle Sunday delivery orders, TURN OFF THE DELIVERY SERVICE. It really isn’t that complicated. Do not accept customers’ money, make them wait for hours, provide absolutely no useful information, and then casually cancel the order and hang up on them. The most frustrating part is that because the order was cancelled, Uber Eats doesn’t even allow me to leave a rating for this experience. Which makes me wonder how many other customers have gone through the exact same thing without being able to warn anyone about it. This restaurant needs to seriously reconsider how it manages delivery orders and, more importantly, how it treats customers. If you value your time, your money, and your sanity, save yourself the trouble and order somewhere else. Zero stars if I could. ‼ ️Provide lightning protection for Chinese customers‼ ️ Never use Uber I ordered food from this restaurant on Eats, and their order management was terrible, and they didn't have professional delivery drivers. This is an extremely irresponsible and rude restaurant. I placed my order through Uber before 3 PM, setting the pickup time to between 7:00 PM and 7:30 PM. At 6:38 PM, the system showed that the restaurant had confirmed the order. Only then did I learn through the system that the restaurant was using its own employees for delivery, which is why I couldn't track the order's progress or delivery status through the app. After the pickup time passed, I still hadn't received the delivery driver, therefore... I contacted the restaurant through the hotel front desk phone. The restaurant staff were completely out of the loop, unwilling to confirm my order, and kept giving intermittent replies. Because they were busy with Sunday orders, they said I'd have to wait an hour. Finally, they lied and said they needed to confirm the order. I waited on the phone, but instead of receiving a notification that the restaurant had canceled the order, they hung up on me a few seconds later. If the restaurant was truly too busy to handle weekend orders, then they should have been more sensible and shut down their delivery system, instead of accepting orders and then being irresponsible. Because the order wasn't fulfilled, I tried to contact Uber... Eats can't reflect ratings either. I wonder how many people have had their orders canceled like this. Waiting for over an hour after get off work and then not getting dinner... I'm really grateful to this terrible restaurant.

Ordered through UberEats and they never made/delivered my order. Waited an hour and tried calling the restaurant directly multiple times. No one answered and then their phone stopped ringing completely like someone silenced it. I contacted UberEats customer support and they were helpful so I know it wasn’t anything on Uber’s side. This place is totally unreliable, don’t even bother giving them your business.

Placed an order that was ultimately cancelled way too late. This was supposed to be my first meal of the day. Bad service, bad feedback, and no food.

I ordered food via Thuisbezorgd at 5:00 PM, and it turned out they had a 50% discount. The total amount came out quite low, so I chose to order extra purely for the sake of driving in bad weather. I waited for an hour and received a text at 6:00 PM saying the order was cancelled? Why? Because they don't want to drive that “far” for €15? It's only 2.4 km. First of all, why don't you update your postcode to get the 50% discount, and most importantly, why does it take an hour to cancel the order? You saw the order listed since 5:00 PM, didn't you? I understand that the total amount is quite small. But making you wait an hour to cancel earns you nothing more than 1 star.

Ordered dinner on a Monday evening a few weeks ago (17 August) through Uber Eats via my partner's account. We waited for our food, then called because it took a long time and they said it would be here "any minute now", which was 20mins later. We waited over 1hr and 15mins total for our food to be delivered. It arrived by van, and we live 5mins away from the restaurant. The food is really good, with large portions, but it took WAY too long to get.

Yum yum Thai has become my go to for a take out meal! I absolutely love them. Compared to other places the dishes are always filled with a lot of vegetables that are always fresh and tasty. Yum yum has their own deliverables personal who are always really kind and nice when they come to deliver.

We had a really delicious meal at Yum Yum. The food was super tasty and the atmosphere was also very cozy. The staff was friendly and everything was well organized. Definitely recommended; we will certainly come back here again.

I ordered takeout through Uber Eats. The food reminded me exactly of what I had in Thailand several years ago. Everything was very good, generous portions, and well packaged for transport. The only downside was a slight delay in delivery compared to the app's estimate. Highly recommended!

We ordered stir-fried chicken with cashew nuts, but they delivered a dish without chicken, with only few vegetables. We called to report the issue, but they said that they would not do anything and suggested that we contact Thuisbezorgd to make a complaint, speechless! If ordering here, customers should be aware that they might receive a dish that does not match what they paid and have to accept it. The quality is also low, the portion is small, and the dish is watery. Never again!

I come for the ultra tasty Tom Yum soup, and it’s always a pleasure to get to pet the resident cat. He totally reminds me of the ginger cat I grew up with and since my husband’s allergic, I get my cat fix sated too (lol). Will keep coming back for the food and this cat, who soaks up your scratches like a king!

Ordered Yam Nua salad to takeaway. Beef very chewy, poor salad garnish (chunks of cabbage onion and tomato) and a bland and very oily dressing. No depth of flavours that one would expect. Not a pleasant experience at all I am sorry to say .

SCAM! RUN AWAY! The restaurant accepted my Uber Eats order. After waiting almost two hours (!!!), the restaurant cancelled the order and there was no response by phone. My payment was taken, but the order was never delivered. Good luck to the delivery driver or restaurant owner who enjoyed my noodles. I wish I could say the same.

I personally thought this place deserved at least one Michelin star! It's incredibly delicious, and when you sit inside to eat, you forget you're in the Netherlands. The staff are also 5-star: polite, attentive, intelligent, simply amazing.

Unfortunately I cannot even judge the food as I never received my order via Thuisbezorgd - the driver claimed he handed my order to someone in front of my door, odd without asking for a confirmation code or something. Plus the order was late at least 30min already. Trying to solve this via Yum Yum Thai and the driver, at some point they just blocked my calls… after now seeing more reviews like that involving Ubereats also, I‘m curious whether or not I will get a refund here. I‘ve spent more than two hours waiting for my food and trying to solve this, eventually had to order elsewhere anyways, absolute no-go - never again.

The delivery via Thuisbezorgd courier did not arrive. Thanks to the excellent service from Yum Yum Thai, we were able to enjoy the meals a little later after all. It tasted delicious as always. Thank you!

If you love Thai food *and* a bit of humor on your plate, then YumYum is highly recommended. The curry was so good that for a moment I thought I could spontaneously start speaking Thai (spoiler: I couldn't, but I certainly felt convinced). The pad thai was perfectly balanced – so delicious that I briefly forgot I actually wanted to share (which I ultimately didn't do, sorry not sorry). The service is friendly and fast, although I had to wipe away my own tears during the spicy dish – apparently that's part of the experience 😄 In short: YumYum more than lives up to its name. You don't say “yum”... you say “YUMYUM!”

The curry was rich, spicy, creamy, and so good it made me question every life choice that led me to eating anywhere else.

This has been the biggest rip-off I have ever experienced. I was seriously considering taking legal action, but honestly, it is not worth the effort. We ordered food through Uber Eats and waited for about an hour. Suddenly, the order was cancelled without any proper explanation. To make matters worse, we did not receive the food and we have not been refunded either. This is completely unacceptable and feels like a scam. Because of this experience, I will definitely never order from this restaurant again. This kind of service is absolutely outrageous and very disappointing.

A truly fantastic place. I go there almost every week. Incredibly delicious and authentic Thai food, and you can also enjoy a cozy meal inside at one of their five tables. The prices are also great, and a portion can often last two days. The hangover that's always sleeping in the corner is the perfect finishing touch.

I ordered the Kaen Phed Kai, a red curry dish with chicken, white rice, and vegetables. It was all very tasty, with plenty of vegetables, red curry, and chicken. It wasn't too spicy either! I also ordered the Tom Kha Koeng, a soup with coconut milk, shrimp, and mushrooms. It was a large soup with lots of mushrooms and delicious shrimp. In short, they have delicious meals in large portions. If you're looking for good Thai food, I would definitely recommend this place!

What a ridiculous place this is!!! Today at 7:34 PM I placed an order through Thuisbezorgd and received a proper confirmation. Then, an hour later, I read in my email that my order had been canceled???? My husband called them, and their reason was: "Yes, we were a bit busy and couldn't handle all the orders." That's fine, but cancel the order within 10 minutes and don't let people wait for an hour for nothing. Update: The restaurant has responded. I maintain my position that this is a ridiculous place. The explanation is full of lies. You never called me, and therefore you never told me it would take longer because of the weather. When my husband called, he was told the order was canceled because you were too busy, not because of the weather. You can keep that free meal. I would have preferred good service...

This restaurant deliberately canceled our order (first saying it was being prepared and then canceling it without telling us) - we didn't even get our money back. I'm speechless! Stay away from this place if you want to have a good evening.

Never leave a review. But I've been waiting almost two hours for my order. The phone has been busy for 40 minutes. Finally, I get an email saying they'll be at the door, but the doorbell isn't working... but I'm home, and the doorbell is working. Just to be sure, I go downstairs that same minute. But surprise, no one was there. It's bizarre that you don't answer and then lie. Wasted €50 and didn't eat.

Yum Yum is a super customer-friendly restaurant with delicious Thai food. Not "Dutch-Thai," but authentic Thai flavors. Generous portions and great service! It's wonderful to have neighbors.

The spring rolls were good. I had beef and vegetables, but the beef was so overcooked it was unchewable (like a shoe sole), and the rice seemed stale, so I only ate the vegetables. I gave it two stars because of the spring rolls.

What a great owner/business. We had just ordered food from yum yum when we had to rush to the hospital to give birth to our son. There was no time to cancel the order, so we missed the food. 3 days later back from the hospital, Yum Yum offered us a new meal, free of charge. As new parents busy with our child, it was definitely convenient for us to have some food delivered. In the past I have eaten here very well. Unfortunately, the food is delivered by carrier pigeon and we have been waiting for our food all evening. About 2.5 hours. I also read in the comments that this happens regularly. Be warned that ordering from this place is absolutely not a good option.

I have only ordered takeaway so I can't speak about the atmosphere but the food is delicious, the portions generous and the delivery times via thuisbezorgd fast. I also really like the discounts I get from collecting stamps with every order. It means I can order more often:)

Came here for dine in, we were unaware of how Amsterdam’s business hours worked but the owner was kind enough to let us order take out. My friend ordered pad Thai (her first time) and she loved it!!! I ordered chicken egg rolls (delicious!!!) Gai Pad Priew Wan Kai and asked for it to be made spicy. It did NOT disappoint! I absolutely love spicy food so this was perfect!!! Did not get a picture of the food but got a picture of our favorite employee haha Also, we were 30 minutes away, but the food was still hot when we got to our destination!!! Would definitely recommend and will be returning!

I am from Asia so the vibe, the restaurant looks kind of familiar to me. The food was okay. I ordered fried rice and it’s okay in general. The portion is big but the issue is the rice is way too sweet. Thai food is more or less sour and spicy. Everything is sweet here.

Small restaurant , mostly for shipping. The food was a over sweet. If you like Thais food, this one will not be the one you should choose. But if you want a grab a meal with big proportion and reasonable price, give it a try.

Yesterday night I ordered in this restaurant by ubereats a pad thai vegetarian. But uber used my “ real location” for delivery and the address was missing some information. So I canceled straight away, the payment was made with my card. So I tried to correct my address and ordered again. I received the second order at my placed and I payed by cash for the delivery guy. And now I received a email of uber telling they will not refund my first order because the restaurant told they were already preparing my food. So the restaurant made pay twice for my order, I was harmed by the restaurant. Lack of honesty.

Totally a scam. Ordered by Uber eat and wait for more than two hours, finally have a call said already delivered to the hotel reception . But there is nothing else and never have anyone shown up around. Also tell me that they will call back but no one call back to me ;)

i kind of wish i could give it zero stars! i ordered on uber eats, and btw (dont) because you don't get a order number, because they deliver them themselves - so you can't track the order or anything. Anyway, fast forward an hour - still no food, so i called the restaurant to ask for an update, they didn't have one as they 'didn't have an order under my name' he then also said 'i dont understand you accent' which is fine, but maybe abit rude? Then i cancelled the order on uber eats, via the online chat. Terrible service

Ordered twice and I would advise everyone to NEVER order food here. The first time it took 110 minutes. The second time I went to the snack bar after waiting 180 minutes, and when I returned, yum yum Thai finally arrived. I sent them away and didn't even get my money back in the end. The worst part is that it was impossible to contact. Within 180 minutes the phone was always busy, or they simply hung up. By the way, with my first order the starter mix was fried/burned completely black. The pad Thai was already quite mediocre back then..

Ordered a: massaman beef, tom kha koeng and a khao pad kai to go a while back and found our meal to be of very average to bad quality. The massaman beef was primarily oil and no proper sauce, the beef was still quite tough and it actually gave my partner and I stomach issues. The tom kha koeng lacked in flavour, had barely any vegetables in it and only 2 shrimp? The chicken fried rice was of average quality and was probably the highlight of this dish, which says enough. For those three items I paid €41,70, which wasn't worth the money of the quality of food we got. The delivery was made 40min after ordering and no cutlery or napkins were included in the bag. The meal was quite disappointing and we shall not eat nor order from this place again.

The food is very good, although as always, in this type of places, you find similar menus in all the establishments, this one being no exception. I recommend booking with the fork. They treated us wonderfully, with a girl who took our table super attentively, from being in a corner. The place is cool, but I still can't give it 5 stars since there are other nicer places. Still, very good.

When we arrived the place was quite crowded (Saturday evening) and the boy at the cash register advised us to come back after a while, in fact after 10 minutes we didn't even come back and they gave us a table. Service was decidedly slow, the place was full and there was only one waiter to serve everyone. Rich menu, the flaw is that not all the ingredients are specified in the various dishes (we took a soup and once it arrived there were mushrooms in it, which is not written on the menu and is quite serious). Overall quite good food and average prices for Amsterdam. Very nice atmosphere of the place.
