The most authentic Thai cuisine in Amsterdam. A must have for me when in the city. The staff are very professional & friendly... even go through the trouble to make suggestions if you have difficulty choosing. A taste of Thailand along the Overtoom..

Food is like we are used in Thailand, theThai version pad krapow is proper hot and pad se ew has that real Thai lime taste. Atmosphere is very plain, but good food fits any atmosphere. Well done, keep up the quality

After years of being customers, we're very disappointed with the new management. They no longer live up to the quality of the food. The prices, on the other hand, have risen dramatically. A real shame for one of Amsterdam's best Thai restaurants.

Did this place switch owners recently? The pad Thai and shrimp green curry is totally different and not at all the same quality it used to be 😫 THIS PLACE IS SO GOOD. Takeout and delivery is always amazing and fresh. Ordered from here so many times over the last 4 years and have never been disappointed. The best Thai in Amsterdam. Seriously.

Such delicious food here, I was curious about their dishes and so I also went to try it. Oem and her daughter are very nice. May is really a top chef. That place is definitely recommended because you don't want to miss delicious food.

Unfortunately, I can only agree with the most recent reviews. Tried it for the first time yesterday, and how incredibly sweet! It's a shame, you can no longer taste the vegetables in the padthai or the massaman. The spicy soup was so sweet that it only tasted of pepper and sugar. I ate some vegetables from it, but unfortunately threw the rest away. Furthermore, very nice people, it's a shame to add so much sugar to all the tasty ingredients.

New owners who no longer have a daily special on the menu, so you could still get a delicious meal for 12 to 13 euros. Unfortunately it has now become far too expensive. We were hungry, so we ordered something anyway and the chicken tasted like nothing, so that is no longer an option. I have been a regular customer here for years, but unfortunately that is now over.

Muang Thai on the Overtoom was recently taken over by new owners. I was always happy with the quality before. So now let's try it again. Food is tasty and tastes reasonably (good enough) fresh. However, both dishes we had were way too sweet. Never had such a sweet meal at a Thai restaurant before. Unfortunately. There is also no tofu (or other vegetarian/vegan) protein in any of the vegetarian dishes. Very strange. Unfortunately I won't order from here regularly.

Very good food, we ordered 5 starters/main courses and everything was excellent. However, be careful with the spice level! Level 1 of 3 is already quite spicy.

Finally I found a Thai restaurant after a long while that follow my request when I say: „please make your favorite dish.“ This time it was Pad Thai Kung. Very friendly people and the for Amsterdam so common view of the street through huge windows.

Friendly, but the food is just bad. Ate the food 3 times now, someone just picked some up and brought it here. The chicken (sate) is dried out and the crust is hard like its 3 days old. The beef is chewy. It's just overall bad quality and not extremely low priced. If dishes were 10 euro's I'd say you get what you pay for. Sorry to say, but I wouldn't recommend it. They really need to up their game. I had 3 different dishes and they were all bad. I don't understand the high rating and I suppose it's other locals that just want to be friendly.

Had takeaway and it was not great. Pad see ew had the wrong type of noodles and Tom yum was not flavourful.

Great takeaway. I had one of the daily dishes (only €12!) and the food tasted amazing. Also had vegetarian loempia’s as a side. It was great sitting outside in the sun while you wait for the food to be prepared 😄

I’ve ate and ordered from Muang several times. The food is always delicious and super fresh. The staff are super friendly too. My favourites are 48. Nua kratiem prik, 49. beef pad krapao, and breaded shrimp for starter. Great value for money!

The owner is really nice and the food was great!! I ordered a green prawn curry and the portion was quite big! One of the best curries I tried! For foreigners, be careful they only accept CASH!

I had a duck curry special and it was delicious. Very flavourful. I asked for extra spicy which was still not too spicy but added a nice kick. Would recommend. Most of the bad reviews are from a long time ago. Doesn’t deserve to be a 4.1 rated restaurant

This is the best Thai restaurant in Amsterdam, no doubt... A no-frills, authentic place serving delicious dishes that never disappoint. Give their fried-rice dishes a try, these are truly wonderful! Also do not forget to add some "prik nam pla" to blend in some extra spice...

Echt een topper van een Thai. Vooral de Pad Thai en Massaman curry zijn een favoriet van ons. Vriendelijke mensen, snelle service. Zeker 1 van de betere van Amsterdam.

Restaurant sans grand décor, il est situé un peu en dehors de la ville mais il est proche du tram. On y va uniquement pour le vrai goût Thaï. Il est possible de se faire livrer. En plus, les prix ne sont pas excessifs.

Zojuist soep gehaald en gevraagd om hem niet pittig te maken. Eenmaal thuis is de soep dik aangemaakt met peper. Ben niet vies van een beetje peper, maar als ik dit expliciet aangeef mag dit niet het geval zijn. Was soep met garnalen. Zitten 2 garnalen in. Kom hier niet snel weer.

If I lived near a place like Muang Thai I’d be there at least twice a week for the warmth of the welcome, the honest and reliable food and the comfort of being able to turn up in a work suit, tiara or trackie bottoms. Pad Thai is just the right balance of sweet with sour/salt, Larb Gai was super fresh and all the while friends and regulars seemed to be dropping by for chats creating a lovely family atmosphere, I could’ve stayed all night.
