Incredible meal for a reasonable price. Friendly staff as well with great local recommendations.

One of my favorite spots in the city. The atmosphere is relaxed, almost all the plants and trees are real, and it gives it a unique botanical feel. The staff is also friendly.

Three person evening dinner visit Tuesday 6 January. We all three went for the ribeye steak with fries and big green salad. The steak was ordered medium rare for all. It was one of the better steaks we had eaten.

Excellent service and beer. 🍺 highly recommend. Great place to work from on a laptop.

We came for dinner and the food was indeed really good. We went for the 3-course menu and the quality and quantity were amazing, especially considering the low price. Unfortunately we did have to chase the personnel around for a food menu, or to order more water… Otherwise it seemed like we would’ve waited quite a bit.

Super fun atmosphere. The food was truly excellent. Only at the end of the evening, my back was really sore from the bench.

I like this place, just a big shame that you can bring babies, but you can’t bring laptops 🤷‍♂️

Cozy neighborhood café with excellent service and a tasty lunch menu

The staff is friendly. However, I waited 40 minutes for a €19 Caesar salad. It was very expensive for what I got; one egg, three pieces of chicken, and no anchovies. Also, there were far too many croutons for a salad, and the salad contained fried bacon (some of which had also turned black). Not tasty. I wouldn't go there for the food. The atmosphere is good, and the staff is friendly.

It's very calm atmosphere with all the plants inside. The sangaria they make is really nice.

Thanks for the orange juice 🍊🍊🍊- and for looking after the young pigeon. (It's called squab in English, did you know that?) Hopefully, there's not going to be a next time but feel free to call me about any birds. I started volunteering in wild bird rehabilitation in Florida when I was doing PhD research there. I've adopted birds from there (quaker parrots) and later in England rehabbed a few pigeons with success. It's often like detective work, finding out what is wrong with a bird. 🕵️‍♀️ But there was also a young wood pigeon who flew into a store window and passed away in my hands. It's part of life. 🕊️

Had lunch at Bar Botanique; the atmosphere, interior, and service are definitely good! The sandwiches we ordered were good, but nothing special. The two croquettes, in particular, were lacking some "green"—salad or something—and were a bit sparse. The burrata with muhambara was more complete, though. The iced coffee was delicious!

A lovely cafe with greenery. Ordered a cider and it came quickly. It's delicious. I don't feel rushed at all either, its as if I could stay for 10 minutes to over an hour.

To make a reservation by phone, you're assisted by an AI bot. That wasn't feasible for a group booking of 30p. I was referred from the office, to the bar, and from the bar back to the office. It worked out in the end, but it left me feeling uncertain. Would the evening itself be just as bumpy? Fortunately, it wasn't. We received fantastic service. My glass was never empty, the food arrived simultaneously, was hot, and more than enough. We could hear each other. Soft music played in the background. It was sweltering outside, and we had excellent air conditioning upstairs, which was also very welcome. Thanks for a lovely evening, and we hope to see you again!

Delicious food, a varied menu, and a lovely art deco atmosphere. There's also an extensive drinks menu. Perfect for a quiet moment with a baby.

It's a great place to be. Both the welcome and the service are excellent. The food meets expectations, and except on weekends, there's always a spot available. The large terrace is a lovely place to meet. In case of bad weather, there's plenty of seating inside.

They certainly live up to the botanic look and feel with a beautiful interior and lots of plants. Nice people in the service. But then unfortunately the (lunch) menu…. We ordered two sandwiches, avocado smash and a vitello tonnato. Both priced €14. We got a thin slice of sourdough bread with the filling and some toppings. A sandwich is a double sandwich. For €14 I expect more than a thin slice of veal with a very meager amount of tuna mayonnaise on it. For €5 we also ordered a home made soda, hibiscus-ginger. You can choose, with still or sparkling water. Apparently they make a syrup from hibiscus and there is a peel of ginger in your drink. We paid €38 for 2 sandwiches and 2 lemonades. For me this place falls into the (Amsterdam) category ‘not worth your money’.

Pasé por este lugar muchas veces y estaba dispuesto a probarlo ya que la decoración es muy acogedora. Es como un oasis tropical y el servicio fue excelente, pedimos algunos bocadillos... alitas de pollo, croquetas de queso de cabra y papas fritas. Tengo que decir que todos muy decepcionantes, lucharon por comerlos. Definitivamente iré por bebidas de nuevo, pero se saltará la comida la próxima vez.

Booked a reservation for dinner at 8:30 and was told to sit at one of two tables. We sat there for >15 minutes and not one person came up to us to inquire what we’d like. Every guest in the restaurant had empty tables and there was 1 person working behind the bar, who often went into the back for minutes at a time with no one working on the floor. Potentially a great restaurant (especially the interior design), but clearly severely under/ poorly staffed so we ended up just walking out after 20 minutes of zero service.

This used to be one of my favourite restaurants, but things have changed drastically. I don't know if the owner changed, or the cook and bartenders, but quality has dropped significantly. They have a much smaller selection of food and pizzas are downright terrible, some of the worst I had in amsterdam. I also had an aperol spritz and it was very bad, way too sweet. How can you mess that up so badly? The price was also extremely high for what looked like a small Albert Heijn pizza and a few drinks. I will wait for when this inevitably fails and gets sold to somebody more competent before trying it again.

Das wars dann auch schon mit positivem, ein normales Croissant kostet allen ernstes 5 Euro - in der Karte steht inkl Butter und Nutella, aber dafür wurden uns nochmal 50 Cents extra berechnet! Viele Speisen waren entweder noch nicht verfügbar weil die Küche noch zu war oder weil sie nicht eingekauft worden waren, obwohl sie in der Karte als Frühstück angeboten sind. Ein Mal und nie wieder! Wir sitzen grad in einem anderen Kaffee bei einem warmen Croissant für 1.60...

April 2025 A stunning place from the outside and also really cosy inside. Swift and friendly service with a special place for people who wants to work and use their laptops. Actually a good thing I think. Interior is really nice, green with a lot of plants and nice seating. Small good menu available. Of course coffee to go aswell.

Casual, just a cozy living room with lots of visitors.

I recently went to Bar Botanique and absolutely loved it! The place is super pretty inside—lush, green, and cozy, with a really inviting vibe. I didn’t take any photos of the food this time, but wow… the ribs were incredible—honestly the best ribs I’ve ever had. We also really enjoyed the cocktails and snacks. The chorizo bites were cheesy and so good! Everything was spot on. I’m definitely coming back soon, both to snap some photos and to dive into those amazing ribs again.

Waitress referred to my friends as the “Students with the kebab” and laughed with her colleagues because my friend finished a meal without knowing it’s forbidden. When another friend overheard she just said “oh we were just joking”.

Twice I had to sit down in Botanique and then not be helped. It wasn't busy, the staff were more concerned with each other than with the customers. Second time after waiting 10 minutes a timer was set for another 10 minutes. Again no help

Very cozy space and friendly service

Teleurstellende ervaring – middelmatig eten, hoge prijs, en slechte service Onze ervaring hier was helaas niet wat we ervan hadden gehoopt. De zeewolf en het piepkuiken waren middelmatig van smaak en zeker niet in verhouding tot de prijs. Daarbij kregen we lauwe, slappe friet die zonder overleg op de rekening stond voor €10. De sfeer was allesbehalve aangenaam: veel te rumoerig en zo donker dat we met onze telefoons moesten bijschijnen om te zien wat er op ons bord lag. Daarnaast ging er van alles mis in de service. We bestelden tweemaal een Virgin Mule, maar kregen bij de tweede ronde iets anders. We lieten het maar zo, al was dat teleurstellend. Ook de timing van het eten verliep niet zoals gewenst. We hadden vooraf duidelijk aangegeven dat we rustig van ons gemengde voorgerecht wilden genieten en pas daarna het hoofdgerecht wilden krijgen. Toch kwam het hoofdgerecht al terwijl we nog bezig waren. De bediening bood excuses aan en nam het terug, maar toen het later opnieuw werd geserveerd, was het lauw en/of opgewarmd. Al met al geen prettige ervaring en zeker niet voor de prijs die we hebben betaald. Jammer!

One of the girls working today was so much fun! Very attentive and friendly. He also had a nice conversation with me while I was waiting for my date. The drink was tasty too!

Great service with a smile and some jokes. Croque Madam was great. And definitely big enough. Good coffee. Cafe looks good, lots of plants, candles and a nice color palette. But it was not very warm.

I made the mistake of booking dinner at The Botanique to celebrate my birthday, and not only wasn't the table ready after 20 min of delay from the scheduled time, but they couldn't care less to accommodate me and my friends at the bar or somewhere. We were all waiting and standing on the way of other people who were passing by. When I complained to the waitress, she complained at me back, almost blaming me for getting upset. When we were finally at our table, the service was below average. Anyway, I won't come back.

Cozy bar/restaurant with a cozy interior. The many real plants make it homely. There is even a tree. So don't be surprised if you see a leaf fall ;). The food was tasty: steak tartare. Nice quantity too, good lunch quantity for an average eater. For dessert a deliciously creamy walnut carrot cake.
