Avis plutôt mitigé. L’endroit est très joli et chaleureusement décoré pendant cette période de Noël. Notre table était idéalement située près de la fenêtre de façon à profiter de la lumière extérieure. La carte est simple avec des sandwichs et quelques plats. Nos 2 sandwichs étaient très bons (BBT et Avocat). En revanche le plat de poulet sauce teriyaki était assez fade avec quelques feuilles de salade non assaisonnées et trop peu de sauce. Le smash burger était généreux en viande mais la qualité était très moyenne. Les 2 plats étaient facturés 21 et 19 euros ce qui me semble exagéré sachant que le burger n’était même pas accompagné de frites (en supplément uniquement). Enfin quand on facture 8 euros la bouteille de 0,75 litre je trouve cela déplacé. Je vous recommande les sandwiches uniquement.

Visited in June 2024. Cod was stale (hard, had strong foul smell). Other 2 dishes were fine.

The restaurant is super beautifull and the food was great. Also good price. The service was good, the employers like to drink a drink with the customers.

We had seen this place online, open from 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM. We read the reviews and saw the photos, and we were really keen to try it out. We took an Uber, arrived at 10:15 PM, and to our surprise, the place was closed. We felt frustrated and angry because we had lost money and, above all, our time. Whoever runs this website needs to wake up and stop playing with other people's time and money.

Magnificent food all around! We had giozas, tuna steak, the hamburger and the ravioli and everything was spectacular. We specially enjoyed the tuna. To wrap it all up, we had a couple of Irish coffees that were fantastic! The atmosphere was awesome, the waiter was super friendly and we had a great time.

We stumbled upon this gem while looking for a meal on our first night in Amsterdam. Despite the night being cool, the outdoor heaters convinced us to eat outside. Greeted by an amazing and charming young man, he took exceptional care of us. The veal cutlet and smash burger were wonderful and amazing. There is literally nothing that they could have done to improve an amazing first meal in Amsterdam.

I think, like all of Amsterdam, friendly, polite people work here. I tried something with gyoza and meatballs and it was very good and their drinks are also good. Calm and relaxing.

Kartel is a wonderful pub, good food, easy going and you can go with small groups without reservation enjoy the Amsterdam feeling of a local pub with the quality of a Michelin star restaurant the 4.3 rating is to low for the quality you get.

We stumbled on this place when looking for some food after checking into our hotel nearby. Very good food! I see pictures showing a party type decoration, but they must have done a remodel the last couple of years as it has a more romantic feel now with greenery and flowers hanging from the cealing, and soft lighting on the tables. The staff are exceptional! The night we were there, there were only two of them working and you would never have known it! They were super friendly, the service impeccable, and the food amazing! Best friets I've ever had!

Great burgers and great beer. Staff was super nice and fun to chat with. Was our 2nd day in Amsterdam and this added to having a great experience.

Stopped here for lunch at the terrace - loved the menu, friendly staff, and fast service. Philly cheese steak sandwich was really nice in the inside, but the bread felt like stale and reheated, being a pain to slice and/or chew. Also disappointed by the generous amount of brown sugar added in the affogato - was too sweet to taste any vanilla or coffee flavour. I’d love to try their dinner and cocktail options next time.

I randomly stopped at this place for dinner and absolutely loved it. The food was delicious, the atmosphere is nice, cute place, and the service is just awesome. Super super friendly staff.

I came the same evening from the Netherlands to Belgrade, said let's go on a raft with my friends. The same thing, I swim in the shore...

Service amazing, the restaurant looks beautiful. But every time we go there (we go a lot) the menu changes. Where are the burgers and nachos? And the fried chicken? Kartel’s new menu is disappointing to say the least. €25 for two small pieces of chicken that we had to send back because it was raw. The food really needs to be stepped up. Bring back the fries and cheese sticks.

Loved the ambience and customer service. The place offers a tapas type selection of dishes to choose from ranging from a mix of multiple cuisines. The menu changes regularly. The spring rolls were to die for.

"Terrible service. No smile, no attention. Never again. " I was too quick to judge and besides that we all have those days when service just doesn't match with the energy of the guest. I am therefore to say, that since my first visit, I came back again and their vibe and service improved 1000%. Menu is amazing, fresh and interesting combinations. I'm a snacker, loved vegetarian gyozas. Cocktails are freshly made, staff friendly and they being people together. I love them a lot and I'm happy to add more stars 🤩

This used to be a Mexican restaurant, all the previous reviews are from that one :( Unfortunately they decided to change completely the interior design and the food as well. It’s overpriced (38€ for a fish “to share” without side dish) and not good. They have a new concept of sharing the dishes and there aren’t Mexican dishes at all. We ordered fried fish and they were sardines 😞 Don’t recommend. To the restaurant owner I would suggest to change the name as the name “Kartel” doesn’t match with the new “fancy” style

This used to be a mexican laid back place for bites and drinks and they likely changed owners as now is quite a refined place with no mexican food. Atmosphere was fine, but when we ordered drinks and I asked for a glass of water, I got it denied and had to order a bottle. We had a bite (which was good) and left because we simply found that not okey.

Bar Restaurant Kartel in Amsterdam is een ware culinaire parel met zijn shared dining concept. Mijn recente ervaring daar was werkelijk een smaakvol avontuur, waar we genoten van heerlijke gerechten en geweldige drankjes. Het begon allemaal met de tonijn, een prachtig gepresenteerde schotel die de zintuigen meteen prikkelde. De tonijn was vers en smolt gewoon op de tong. De smaken waren perfect in balans, met een vleugje citrus en een delicate kruidigheid. Een voortreffelijke start van onze maaltijd. Daarna volgde de markeel, een gerecht dat me aangenaam verraste. Het was verfijnd en subtiel, met een subtiele rokerige smaak die harmonieerde met de zachte textuur van de vis. De combinatie van ingrediënten was ongebruikelijk maar fantastisch, en het was een van de hoogtepunten van de avond. De zeeduivel was een ander hoogtepunt, geserveerd met een verrukkelijke saus die de vis naar een hoger niveau tilde. De zeeduivel was perfect gegaard, sappig van binnen en lichtjes knapperig aan de buitenkant. De combinatie van de vis en de saus was simpelweg sensationeel. Om onze maaltijd te begeleiden, kozen we voor een IJwit, een verfrissend Nederlands witbier, en een Pino Grigio, een lichte en fruitige witte wijn. Beide drankjes pasten perfect bij de gerechten en voegden nog meer genot toe aan de eetervaring. Wat de service betreft, was deze voortreffelijk. Het personeel was vriendelijk, attent en had een uitstekende kennis van het menu, wat de avond nog aangenamer maakte. Ze zorgden ervoor dat we ons zeer welkom voelden en stonden altijd klaar om onze vragen te beantwoorden en aanbevelingen te doen. De ambiance bij Kartel is warm en uitnodigend. Het interieur heeft een gezellige uitstraling, met een combinatie van moderne en industriële elementen. De sfeerverlichting zorgt voor een ontspannen sfeer, en de muziek op de achtergrond droeg bij aan de algehele atmosfeer. Kortom, Bar Restaurant Kartel biedt een geweldige ervaring voor liefhebbers van lekker eten en drinken. De culinaire creaties zijn verfijnd en heerlijk, de service is uitstekend en de ambiance is perfect voor een gezellige avond uit. Ik kan Kartel van harte aanbevelen aan iedereen die op zoek is naar een geweldige eetervaring in Amsterdam.

This place should be packed all day. Of all the restaurants in the neighborhood this DEFINITELY HAS THE FRIENDLIEST STAFF. You feel welcome as soon as you come in, whereas every place in Amsterdam takes it for granted that there will always be enough people to serve, the staff here still treat you like a human being, they're fast and friendly, and...SURPRISE!--they seem to actually LIKE WORKING here. The decor is fun, floral, cozy, the music is NEVER TOO LOUD, the food is excellent and reasonable, and they serve good wine. Oh, and the wifi is fast. Earthlings, for the sake of world peace, TIP BIG! These people deserve it. When in Amsterdam, don't go for trendy, go for FRIENDLY--that's GEZELLIG!!!!!

Excelente servicio! Muy amable y caballero el mozo. La comida estaba riquísima, la hamburguesa sobretodo, pedimos también unas papas con belly pork, podrían haber tenido un poco más de pork, pero muy ricas también. Pedimos un vino que no nos gusto y nos ofrecieron cambiarlo sin problema ni cargo extra. Muchas gracias!! Súper recomendado.

We enjoyed a very pleasant evening meal here. The ambience and lighting were great and the service was excellent, really quick, efficient and friendly. After a full day of sightseeing, it was just what we needed. The Indian butter chicken was tasty and the price was very reasonable.

The food was delicious. Very tasty. The atmosphere was good and the service up to standard. What I was surprised by was the portions. Do not come if you are hungry. It was two of us and th waiter said we could share. We looked at the prices and we thought it was reasonable for Amsterdam (and since it was to share, we figured portions were regular...man were we wrong!!!!). Ordered the tacos (3 of them...quite small, nothing to share from them), the ceviche (also quite small) and the ribs (suuuuper tasty but also small serving). In the end, we ended up paying 60.90 euro, still hungry and had to go somewhere else where we could eat more for wayyyy less money. So, all in all...overpriced even for Amsterdam!

At first glance thought it would be standard pub grub, but it far exceeded my expectations. Staff super relaxed and welcoming, perfectly setting the tone and atmosphere. But the highlight was the food: loaded fries that were flavoursome and addictive; beautiful light and crispy fish tacos; and a gorgeous butter curry. Lovely experience, will definitely return!

Местечко хорошое как бар с закусками но это место не про вкусно поесть, сервис очень старается, но делает ошибки. Здесь хороший выбор разливного вкусного пива и здесь есть коктейли. В след. Раз придем, но не на ужин.

Heb hier ‘s avonds alleen wat gedronken. Uiterst gezellige, warme en leuke gelegenheid. Wat ik voorbij zag komen zag er in ieder geval goed uit. Ondanks dat het maandag en slecht weer was zeer goed bezocht. Gegarandeerd dat de menukaart een keer geinspecteerd gaat worden.

Leuke plek om te eten. De bediening was vriendelijk en snel. Het eten was lekker, maar redelijk prijzig voor wat je krijgt als portie.

Per toeval tegengekomen via Instagram, leuk en gezellig aangekleed, lekker gegeten ja ik ging tevreden naar huis. Wij hadden buikspek, tonijn, load fries met avocado, guacemole en een chili dressing en haricort verts.

Leuke sfeer en aardig personeel. Als je echt goed wilt eten moet je hier geen gaan. Gerechten zijn super lekker en alles is goed gebalanceerd. Zeker een aanrader !

Ik wilde er frietjes bij, zoals gewoonlijk. Tip. Niet doen. Verwen je smaakpapillen. Ik vond het ietwat aan de prijzige kant. Maar ik klaag niet

Best Bitterballen in town. Absolutely delicious! Just be careful - they are very hot when they arrive, so dont burn your mouth with your first bite. Staff are very friendly and we had a great experience.

If you like salmon bagels, this is a MUST to try one here. Great amount of thinly sliced salmon, perfectly roasted bagel. Simple and absolutely perfect. I am currently voting this as the best salmon bagel in Europe (i have been living here 8 years). Also, this place is positioned to get sun, so you can eat outside and get some sun at the same time (really nice for brunch). Also, the staff is very very nice and friendly. I really recommend this if you are looking for a good place to brunch.
